Preamble
The Free Star Systems of this Known Galaxy come together to form a more perfect civilization, in spirit of unity, in mind of cooperation, and do ordain this Constitution to establish justice, security, freedom, and pursuit of liberty among all with the creation of this GALACTIC REPUBLIC.
The Free Star Systems of this Known Galaxy mark a new stage in civilization in the process of galactic integration.
The Free Star Systems recognize and confirm the contributions of individual worlds and peoples to the greater galaxy that strengthen solidarity among all with respect to cultures and histories.
The Free Star Systems resolved to implement a single galactic citizenship common to denizens of inhabited planets.
The Free Star Systems resolved to create a single currency and intra-galactic economy.
The Free Star Systems resolved to allow the free movement of persons while ensuring the safety and security of all peoples.
Article I
Section I
The legislative powers of duly representation in accordance to a democratic union shall be vested in the Senate of the Galactic Republic.
Section II
The Senate of the Galactic Republic, hereinafter referred to as "the Senate", shall consist of one Senator from each Star System Sector. Each Star System Sector is granted up to two additional Representatives to represent differential and/or minority populations.
Senate seats shall be filled according to local laws based on the Star System Sector, to be filled for a maximum of three terms of four years each. Term years shall be fixated to the standard calendar dating system of the Galactic Republic Capital Planet.
No Senator or Representative shall be of an age premature of adult age according to the individual's species rate of maturation, which is to be determined by the Star System Sector.
Senators are granted one vote per resolution or issue during times of voting session in the Senate, on matters of domestic or foreign affairs, leadership elections, official appointments, or impeachments. Representatives are only allowed to vote in lieu of their respective Senator's absence or removal from office.
When vacancies in the Senate arise, Star System Sector executives are granted the authority to appoint a replacement until the end of the term.
Section III
The Senate shall choose one speaker and one leader to serve as Supreme Chancellor, who are to be elected by the Senate once every four years.
