In the beginning there was only silence, the new planet was a gray dull landscape which appeared to be endless. Above us was a dark emptiness, this was the first day on our all mightiest new brain child called Planet Earth. Nothing exciting had happened so far until I heard the very first trumpet sounded. The sky; "so appeared the above to be called from now on", cleared up. Various colors of purple, pink and blue moved around and distant stars became visible. The exact same stars my friend Kokabiel had made, the angel I've met some time ago. The red haired, very honest and outspoken angel. It felt odd though, I had expected him to be here today. He seemed to be the type to enjoy these kinds of beautiful wonders but I couldn't detect his presence, perhaps he had work to do elsewhere.

I witnessed the night become into day, the gray earth turning into all kinds of colors. Great pools of water emerging out of the dry landscape, dividing pieces of lands. Plants and animals of all kinds came into existence, all the concepts we had worked hard for. Every single little detail became a reality and at last the humans inhabited earth. They were safely placed into a walled garden, so they could grow further into their concept. A man and a woman, God had named them Adam and Eve. They were naked and seemed dazed as they were just planted here. Unknown of everything, jet they didn't seem scared, just confused.

On the sixth day, we all got our assignments. I had to guard the eastern gate of Eden, the walled garden so to speak. Outside the walls lurked all kinds of new dangers, unwelcome animals and a still unstable flora. The humans were to new and to fragile at this state, they had no knowledge to survive it. Eden would give them food and protection, that was all they needed for now. Later that day I saw the humans mate for the first time, they were indeed very fast. The human creators had told us that this kind of species would reproduce at fast rate. Planet earth would be inhabited in no time, just as god had planned it.

That night, I felt utterly alone. Just me and my flaming sword to protect Eden with. The humans were asleep and the garden was silent. I could hear things move behind the walls, something was awake. Something rather big, but I could not see what or who it was. The place seemed deserted however I felt like I was being watched. I'll be honest, I was scared. Gladly the light of the moon gave me enough light to see down there now. I could only see dessert sand and a snake like creature rolled up into the sand, it seemed to have a rest. Luckily it was far below there, couldn't do any harm. "Good night, serpent." I whispered, more out of boredom really.

Suddenly I could hear a faint "Good night Angel", just as silent as a breeze of wind. I turned back and looked down, the snake was still there. It hadn't moved, just seemed to be sleeping. I was being silly, standing here for how long? Not even a day and I was already imagining thing. Maybe I had to sit down and rest for a little bit, nothing could happen anyway.
