He would.
Fucking.
Catch it.
There was no other way. He would catch the damn thing and it would be final.
He jumped around swinging his net at the damn creature until finally, finally the net caught and the fluttering wings of the beast buzzed loudly inside it.
The Queen of Dragonflies. Finally, after all those years...
He quickly found a container with holes in them and let the insect inside, not paying it much mind. He had to get home and then look at it properly.
He was about to do just that when he heard a tiny tiny voice.
"LET ME GO!"
He looked around, there could be a child in danger or—
"LOOK DOWN YOU IDIOT! I'M HERE!"
The voice was coming from the... container?
He rose the plastic cell to his eyes and almost threw it across the field. There was a— There was a little human inside.
Well, not human human but something close enough. And it had the long beautiful blue dragonfly wings.
Did he just find a morph? A shapeshifter?
This was legendary, he had to tell someone he had to—
"LET. ME. GO. THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING." The creature hissed, a trail of smoke leaving his tiny mouth. Izuku was too frozen to react. "FINE!" It—he?—took a deep breath and suddenly spit fire at the side of the container.
Izuku flinched, but the shot did a whole lot of nothing.
Oh. It's weak.
"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!" Oh, the creature got a bit of a dirty mouth too.
Izuku debated for a second what he could do, while the dragonfly tried to claw out a way out of the container.
He took off running to his house, barely managing to not send all his equipment and the strange human-insect flying. The moment he was in his room he closed all the windows, blocked the door with thick rugs, and opened the container.
The dragonfly immediately took off in the direction of the window, but only sadly bonked on the glass. Then it looked at Izuku. It zoomed to his face and started yelling.
"YOU— YOU MOTHERFUCKER! YOU CAN'T KEEP ME HERE!"
It—no, definitely deserving of a proper pronoun, he— was simply beautiful. His wild hair seemed to glisten in the sun, making the blue-purple pinkish in some parts. He was wearing a dress? robe? something long and flowy and so well fitting it could be skin. He was barefoot, but that wasn't surprising considering he seemed to fly as his sole method of transport.
"You're... gorgeous," slipped past his lips, without him realizing. The dragonfly twisted in the air, blushing furiously.
"Really?"
He nodded numbly. Was it really so easy to get him to not be hostile? Compliment him? Well, that would be easy considering how pretty he was.
"I'm gonna let you go," he said, once again not registering his words. "But can we... Can we talk sometime?" His mouth was very dry suddenly.
"Sure." The dragonfly was still blushing. He looked around and finally gracefully sat down on an eraser lying on the desk. "If you promise to let me go when I ask I don't mind staying now either."
Izuku's heart seized at the sight of a small smile splitting his face. His heart panged and he found himself smiling too.
Well... Seems like he won't be telling anyone about this discovery.
