Crevices spread across the island as the bloodstained warrior smashed his fists against the ground. Drops of sweat and blood fell on the shattered soil as he tried to breathe. His quivering pupils remained locked on the puddle underneath him. He winced out of pain as his battered body ached with such intensity it was a miracle he was still alive. However, he thought it wouldn't be long before they all died on this wretched planet.
The black-haired warrior lifted his head to see if his companions were alive. His weary, almost transparent eyes moved to the right, where he could see the giant, muscular combatant lying on the ground, bathing in a pool of blood. He was sure the bald male was gone, already in hell with the rest of their dead race. As he took a breath, his lungs felt on fire. However, he shifted his dark orbs to the left, only to see a long-haired man buried under the rocks. The wild-haired warrior tried to utter the man's name, but his throat hurt so much it was almost impossible for him to speak.
His black hair swayed on the wind as he closed his hands and repeatedly punched the ground. They were too naive and arrogant to believe they could defeat such a monster. He was so confident in his abilities and constantly increasing strength that he didn't even think of something like this ever happening. The warrior screamed out of frustration, straining his throat and coughing some blood.
As he gazed at the white devil, his eyes caught the figure of another man. The flame-haired warrior barely stood on his feet while he shouted at the monster. He couldn't even grasp what was going on as, for the first time in his life, he felt like giving up and letting it all end. He looked away, completely broken and ashamed of himself. Just how could he, a warrior, let that thing ridicule and toy around with them? They were nothing but toys for that guy's amusement, and the saddest thing was, they couldn't do anything about it.
"H-How!? We hit him with everything we got, yet he still lives! Dammit, we've failed miserably!"
The wild-haired man lowered his head in shame and closed his fist tightly, crushing the rock on the ground. "W-What else is there to do!? What!?" As he clenched his teeth, tears slowly slid down his bloodstained face.
However, the warrior snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a sudden spike in the tyrant's ki. As he looked up, he saw the monster wearing an expression of a madman. The creature's face twisted with rage and hatred, and all of that was about to be unleashed upon them and this entire world.
"How dare you!? You insolent monkeys! I'll get rid of your kind once and for all! Right here and now on this backwater planet!"
The tyrant's furious voice echoed across the island. "You! I'll take you out just like I did your father!" A pink glow surrounded the emperor's arm while his half-in-cut tail furiously lashed behind him.
The warrior knew this was about him as he stared at the pink light until it reached its peak. With a simple swing, the creature fired a large ki slash. He could see it approaching fast; he even caught the flame-haired prince shouting something at him, probably to dodge, but he was too exhausted and broken. He closed his weary eyes and entirely gave up. They tried their best, went beyond their limits, and were about to die a warrior's death. His thoughts shifted to a small child with black hair and a tail. A weak smile surfaced as he thought of the boy as the attack was about to end his existence. However, to the warrior's surprise, the monster's strike never reached him. Upon hearing heavy grunts, he opened his eyes only to see something astonishing.
"Y-You fool! Just what are you doing!?"
A warrior with long, black hair stood before him, struggling to push the attack away. He could see the armbands disintegrate along with the man's armor. His skin was getting burned, but the taller male fought fiercely with all he had left. Seeing him like this prompted the younger warrior to stand up and help. However, he immediately fell back to the ground.
"H-Have no idea... guess I've gone soft, brother. Heh, who would've thought, huh? At least I'll go down like a true Saiyan warrior!"
He was about to shout at his older brother to spot the nonsense when the warrior's tremendous growl rendered him quiet. The younger warrior watched with awe at his brother, who gave his all. For a moment, he thought the long-haired man was about to do it and throw the attack away. However, the attack was too strong, and the struggle caused the blast to detonate. Ground split apart and shook from the explosion, which sent the male flying.
He crashed with his head against the ground and rolled for a couple of steps before stopping. After pushing himself to his knees, he immediately looked at the spot filled with smoke. His black pupils shook as he waited for the smoke to clear, and once it did, he just kept staring at the unmoving body of his older brother.
"Humph! It's not the one I intended to kill, but there's nothing better than killing a worthless monkey. Only two left to get rid of and make the universe a better place!"
Year 761
Rain poured on the abandoned city from dark and thick clouds. The terrifying lighting illuminated the sky and the ground below. A mighty wind blew across the area, knocking down the unstable, damaged buildings. The city, which once bloomed with people and life, got reduced to a nesting ground for wild animals. Their howls and scary roars echoed across the place, day or night.
As a flock of pterodactyls flew above the demolished city, lightning illuminated two figures as they walked through the place. Both men wore orange martial arts uniforms under their jackets. The smaller man wore a blue and white hat over his bald head, which he tried to keep on because of the strong wind. He and his tall companion moved fast across the city and decided to find shelter for the night. They avoided a pack of wild boars rampaging through the empty street and hid inside a barely stable building.
While the tall, long-haired male inspected the building, the other moaned. "Phew! At least we're not under that crazy rain anymore. Hey, Yamcha! We shouldn't be too far from the camp, right?" He posed the question as he removed the hat and tried to dry it.
"Yeah, I think so. Damn, there's nothing here! Krillin, we'll need to search other buildings. That flock of pterodactyls should have a nest somewhere around here."
The man called Krillin released a heavy sigh as he leaned against the wall and rubbed his weary eyes. "Right..." He was tired of everything and didn't know if he could keep going.
However, he, they couldn't stop. Many people depended on them to come back home with food. They were the only ones left capable of going out and hunting for something to eat. His expression changed to one full of regret and anger.
"If only we managed to beat that bastard! Then everything would be back to normal! H-He killed them all, Yamcha! H-He tricked us all!"
Krillin's voice trembled as he closed his fists tightly. A friendly touch over the shoulder brought him back from the negative thoughts. He gazed at his scarred friend, who wore a warm smile.
"I know it hurts, but don't think about it. Right now, we must provide food for our friends. We'll deal with that monster after we finish our current task! Trust me, he'll get what he deserves!"
Upon hearing his friend's reassuring words, Krillin closed his eyes and relaxed. He nodded and tapped Yamcha's hand, on which the taller male smiled and took a step back. The bald martial artist knew his companion was right. Thinking of the past and what happened wasn't important at this moment. Hunting down and ensuring their people's survival was of the utmost priority. The moment of their revenge would come sooner than later, and humanity will win this time.
He gazed at Yamcha, walking up the stairs, when they heard a loud noise from outside. "What's that!? That was no lighting!" Krillin looked at the dark sky and couldn't believe his eyes.
"Krillin! What's that thing!? Is it a meteor!?"
Krillin thought about it, but as he stared at the falling fireball, he couldn't shake off a bad feeling brewing in his gut. Whatever that thing was, something was telling him it was terrible news. A drop of sweat rolled down his temple as the fiery thing crashed, producing a strong shockwave. Despite the unknown thing hitting far away from the city, the shockwaves caused the building to collapse. Krillin and Yamcha instantly dashed out and avoided getting buried.
"Krillin. I know we came here to hunt, but we need to see what that thing was."
The addressed martial artist stood quiet in the rain. Every fiber of his being screamed to get as far as possible. However, before he could even say something, Yamcha ran into the forest separating them and the spot where the thing crashed. Krillin cursed and had no choice but to follow his friend and inspect the area.
Before the earthlings got to the place, smoke soared into the cloudy sky. The small, gray object colliding with the ground created a broad, deep crater. As seconds passed, the sound of the engine died out, and only the noise of the rain hitting the metal pod resonated inside the hole. Suddenly, the hatch opened and lowered on the ground. A tall, muscular man with long, black, spiky hair emerged from the object. He moved his neck left and right, releasing a groan as he did that. His hair swayed on the wind as he slowly flew out of the crater.
The moment he landed, his dark eyes inspected the area. "Humph! So, this is planet Earth. Now I get why he'd be sent here... Let's see where you're hiding, little brother." The stranger raised a hand and pressed a button on a device attached to his face.
Mere seconds later, yellow letters appeared on the tiny, green screen. "Oh! A battle power of 583 is coming my way! That's must be you, Kakarot! Could it be you saw my arrival!?" A smirk surfaced on the man's face as he turned to the west.
However, the stern-looking stranger was quickly proven wrong. Instead of a person, two men appeared before his black eyes. An annoyed grunt followed his displeasing expression. He crossed his bulky arms and frowned upon the martial artists, who stared at him in terror.
"Tsk! Useless piece of technology! So, that power level was a combined force of two pitiful earthlings!? Pathetic!"
Despite being annoyed, he saw an opportunity in this. "You two! Listen to me very carefully if you want to live another day! Tell me, where's a man who goes by the name Kakarot!?" He had nothing to lose by asking them. Whatever their answer was, he would use them for an exercise after being stuck in a pod for almost a year.
Upon hearing that name, a disturbing image of the said man flashed before his eyes. "Y-You know that monster!? First things first! Who are you, and where do you come from!?" The bald martial artist shook his head and tried to regain his composure.
"Oh! So, he's alive, after all! Well, it seems this will be a successful trip after all!"
A satisfied grin appeared on the stranger's face as he stepped forward. "Thanks for the information. You're no longer needed!" His fierce glare terrified the earthling, who suddenly got frozen by it.
Yamcha wanted to yell at the arrogant man, but the person before them vanished. "W-What!? H-He's gone!" The former desert banding shouted as he looked around for the mysterious person.
"Yamcha, stay close... This guy is bad news; I can feel it!"
They leaned against each other's back and lifted their guard. Suddenly, they were fighting against a person they knew nothing about. As they waited for the man to reappear, Yamcha's hands shook as he tried to focus. Despite training hard for the past few years, he always needed more proper concentration in battle. The martial artist cursed under his breath when, unexpectedly, the stranger appeared only a step from him. Yamcha reacted on instinct and threw his fist at the strange man. The stranger quickly brushed it off and struck the former bandit with a heavy knee.
"Yamcha! Get away from him, you bully!"
Krillin screamed as he lunged at the massive man while his friend was on the ground, coping with the pain and trying to breathe. He went in with a fist, but the man effortlessly caught it. The martial artist tried to break free, but the grip was too firm. He released a shout and quickly lifted his leg in hopes of shattering the stranger's ribcage. The strike landed but amounted to nothing.
"Is that all you have to offer? Tsk! Disappointing! No wonder a low-level such as Kakarot managed to complete his mission."
Seeing the earthling's fear and struggle to break free brought immense joy to the man. "Let me show a fraction of real power." He closed his fist tightly and smashed it against Krillin's face.
The man snickered while the bald martial artist crashed against the muddy ground and rolled for a few meters. "Humph. Despite being so weak, I can see why Kakarot would let you live. You're his toys to play around with." He crossed his arms again while waiting for the earthlings to get up.
"I would do the same thing in Kakarot's place. Living alone on the planet would be maddening. Would it have affected him in some way?"
The long-haired stranger snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a trembling voice. He gazed at the bald earthling getting up and smirked. Despite being so weak and fragile, they had some guts and will to fight.
"Toys!? How dare you say that!? That monster slaughtered millions! He played us like fools and got away with everything! I won't tolerate something like that! Haaa!"
Krillin ran across the muddy ground, and Yamcha joined in as well. "Whatever your business is with that demon, you better leave! Or we'll take you down! Haaah!" The earthlings separated, and each assaulted the stranger from their side.
Instead of feeling nervous, the man began to chuckle. "Haha! So amusing!" He swiftly lifted his left leg and blocked Yamcha's kick. His eyes stirred to the opposite side and saw Krillin approaching slowly. He lowered his right arm and stopped a strike.
"It's a shame you can't do anything about it. Kakarot's way out of your league because he's not an earthling but a Saiyan warrior... Let me introduce myself to you before you die. My name is Raditz, Kakarot's older brother!"
Krillin and Yamcha couldn't process what they just heard. They couldn't even form proper sentences, which caused the Saiyan warrior Raditz to laugh. Before they could absorb what they found out, the long-haired warrior sent them flying across the ground. They crashed, rolled across the land, and remained on the floor while the rain continued falling on their ragged bodies.
.
Meanwhile, far in the east, a young man with wild hair walked through a thick and humid jungle. He wore black boots and red pants tied with a black belt. The man lifted his hand and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a blue wristband. His black hair waved because of a weak breeze that passed through the jungle on rare occasions. He adjusted his grip around the dinosaur's tail as he returned to the camp. The man's tail swayed behind his back as he ate a fruit with his free hand. He minded his business when suddenly he felt something.
He immediately let go of the dinosaur and turned his body in the opposite direction. The man blinked a few times, confused by what he felt far in the distance. For a moment, he thought the heat had fried his brain. However, as he closed his eyes and concentrated, he was sure someone powerful appeared on the planet. He clenched his teeth and closed his fists tightly out of sheer excitement. His blood started to boil. He needed to get there and face this stranger. A big grin surfaced on his sweaty face as he shouted someone's name and flew across the blue sky.
.
THUD! BAM!
Krillin's and Yamcha's bodies slammed against the ground at the same time. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't even land a blow. Both of them were hurt and barely able to stand, let alone continue to fight. Krillin moaned, exhausted and angry for being so weak. He dropped to his knees and punched the muddy ground while Yamcha stared at the man called Raditz with no hope in his eyes.
"Dammnit! Just what did we do to deserve this!? Screw it! If I have to die, I'll at least try and take him down with me!"
Krillin's desperate scream echoed across the valley as the man got up and flew after the Saiyan. The martial artist continued to shout as he closed the distance, not even realizing his friend was yelling and begging him to return.
"K-Krillin! Stop! Come back! You can't defeat him! We need to run!"
Yamcha cried out, but it was in vain. "N-No! I-It's going to be the same as before! I-I... What am I supposed to do!? I-I'm sorry, I can't anymore!" Consumed by fear and the loss of so many friends, the former bandit rose from the ground and ran in the opposite direction.
The long-haired martial artist ran, unable to look back. Tears slid down his bruised and dirty face as he shut his eyes. "I'm sorry, Krillin! Everyone! I can't take it anymore; it's too much!" Despite feeling like a coward, he couldn't fight any longer.
They deluded themself for the past few years. Despite training hard, Yamcha knew they could never eliminate the demon. He tried to act tough, not only for the others but for his own sake. However, the bubble burst because of this stranger from space. Unable to hold it in, Yamcha let out a hopeless scream as he rushed toward the forest. The former desert bandit shook his head and ran inside the forest. He pushed away the branches and jumped over the bushes. The man was determined to distance himself from the ruthless alien as much as possible. Unfortunately, the fatigue and the wounds compelled him to halt.
He dragged his aching body to a large tree and hid behind it. The massive leaves sheltered him from the rain as he leaned against it. He felt ashamed of his actions. Brave people like Krillin would rather go down in a fight as a proper martial artist, but he was too afraid. His thoughts shifted to a purple-haired woman while he tried to recover some energy.
"Bulma... How am I going to show myself to you and the rest!? What am I going to say to them!?"
He whimpered as he slammed his fist against the ground. His thoughts quickly moved to Krillin. He could feel his ki signal dropping swiftly. Yamcha lifted his hands and buried his face into them. However, his body began to shiver as a familiar voice reached his ears.
"That's the thing... You'll never see her!"
Yamcha immediately looked up and saw a wild-haired man hanging from a tree. "N-No! N-Not you too!" The scarred male jumped on his feet to run away but slipped and fell.
While Yamcha dragged his body across the ground, the wild-haired man descended near him and followed him. "Hello there, Yamcha! Tell me, what happened to you and your little bald friend? I'm curious to hear your answer!" He halted when he saw a pair of tiny boots standing before him, preventing him from feeling. Yamcha looked up and saw a little figure with a tail.
At the same time, Krillin's lifeless body fell to the ground. The Earth's mightiest martial artist gave his all, but it resulted in his demise. His opponent spat on the ground and walked past him like he never existed. The Saiyan locked his dark eyes on the forest and advanced there.
"So, the other one's hiding in there? Fine! I'll have more fun with him before I find you, Kakarot!"
Raditz was about to dash into the forest when the scouter came to life. "Huh? A power level of 735 just appeared in that location!? I see! This time, it must be him!" He stopped when he noticed the man he presumed to be his brother was approaching, dragging the scarred earthling.
He didn't need to wait for too long. His smirk never vanished as the young, wild-haired man stopped before him. "Many years have passed, Kakarot, but we're finally reunited." The Saiyan paused as he inspected the man from head to toe, ignoring the unconscious earthling falling next to him.
"Kakarot, I see you've been quite successful in your mission. However, I've come here to bring you back to where you belong! With me and the rest of your race!"
While the stranger slowly approached him, Kakarot finally said something. "Huh? What are you babbling about!? The only reason I even bothered to come here was because I could sense your strength! Just who are you!?" His words seemed to cause something as the long-haired man suddenly halted.
"What!? You must know who I am! I'm sure Mother told you before they shipped you to this mudball! Don't tell me you hit your head and forgot everything!?"
As the rain endlessly fell from the dark clouds, the younger man spat on the ground before answering. "I told you before! I don't know who or what you are! My only memory from childhood is a crying woman and a man with a scar on his left cheek, and that's it! After that, I woke up in a jungle surrounded by wild beasts." There was a moment of silence between them while the lighting illuminated the sky.
After the initial shock passed, Raditz placed a hand under his chin and realized something. "Oh, I see! For some reason, Mother and Father took it upon themselves to ship you off to this world. Humph, strange, but I can only think they thought your chances were better on this planet than on one assigned by an officer." He hid his smirk as he noticed his comment annoyed the younger warrior.
"Kakarot, I can tell by my encounter with those weaklings that you fulfilled your mission. However, we still have lots of work left! Many planets across the universe are awaiting us! Just imagine all the possible challenges and battles! Doesn't that make your blood boil!?"
His voice was loud as he closed the distance between them. He leaned closer to the shorter man and stared into his dark orbs. "I can see it in your eyes; you're searching for a challenge! Join me; it's just the right thing to do! After all, I'm your older brother, Raditz!" His words stunned his younger brother, and he snickered.
Kakarot took a step back and tried to absorb the news. "What!? A brother!? Why should I even believe you!?" He couldn't help himself but shout as he closed his fists tightly.
"See, I have a tail just like you. We're the same, Kakarot! I've come here just for you! We need you, brother!"
Kakarot stared at the tail and the extended hand. It all felt surreal, but somehow, he believed this man. There was something oddly familiar about him. He couldn't exactly pinpoint what, but it felt right and at home.
"An older brother, huh? I'm going to need to get used to that. So, where are we going from here? Back to our home world?"
Raditz's smirk vanished, and the long-haired warrior walked past his younger brother. "Unfortunately, no. Our home, planet Vegeta, met with a tragedy that resulted in its destruction. There's barely a handful left; the rest await our arrival on a distant planet." He lifted his head and, with a solemn expression, gazed at the clouds.
"We Saiyan live for the thrill of battle and pushing past our limits! We seek new challenges whenever we can! Our thirst for action caught the eyes of a mighty galactic emperor! Since then, we have obeyed their orders in exchange for fighting! A good deal for us Saiyans!
The tall warrior paused as he turned around and continued to explain. "For low-level missions, we send toddlers who can take over the world in a few years or an adult squad, depending on the planet's ranking. Once the purge is done, we sell it to the highest bidder or turn it into a military station." Raditz's tail waved around Kakarot's face until the Saiyan secured it around his waist.
"I see... Well, whatever happens to this world, I couldn't care less. However, you're saying there are many planets out there yet to be conquered and packed with strong opponents?"
Kakarot could barely hold himself back from trembling. Killing the earthlings stopped being fun years ago. Fighting and allowing Krillin and his group to flee became boring. He was afraid that he would quickly go insane out of boredom. Still, this opportunity for more just presented itself to him. This was his chance to test himself against real warriors and push past his limits.
"Hm, should I take that as a yes? Anyway, there are also some things you should be wary of, but we'll get over that once we reach the nearest station. I assume you haven't a clue where your pod's located?"
Seeing how Kakarot wasn't even aware of what a pod was, Raditz reached under his armor. "Despite so many years, your space pod should still be useful. Unless something on this miserable planet broke it." The older male typed something on a small controller and eventually put it away.
His dark orbs trailed on the moaning earthling lying on the ground. "What about him? Isn't it about time you finish him off?" The warrior pointed at Yamcha, who was slowly waking up.
Kakarot's lifted his boot and slammed it upon Yamcha's chest. "Hn. I kept them alive for far too long. They managed to be quite troublesome for me when I was younger, but as I grew, so did my strength and experience!" Memories of life on Earth flashed before him, causing him to smile.
"However, I won't be finishing him off... He'll do it, and he's coming with us!"
As Kakarot said that and pointed back, Raditz glanced past his younger brother and saw a boy emerge from the forest. With each step the child made, Raditz's eyes widened out of shock. The Saiyan warrior uncrossed his arms and stared at a small, rough-looking boy with mid-long black hair and a fuzzy brown tail.
It took Raditz some time to process what he had just seen. "K-Kakarot. Could it be that's your offspring!?" The swaying tail was a dead giveaway, but he needed to hear it from his younger brother to know he wasn't going crazy.
Kakarot couldn't help but chuckle at Raditz's reaction. "Yeah, the boy's my son. He speaks little, so don't bother starting a conversation. However, he's very smart and quite strong!" The younger Saiyan spoke with pride as he patted his son's back.
"Oh! And, of course, he's coming with us."
While Raditz tried to snap out of it, the boy glared at the tall Saiyan with an intense and distrustful look in his eyes. There were so many things Raditz wanted to say and ask. However, his questions got put on hold as Kakarot's space pod landed nearby. The warriors got into their pods and soared in the dark sky, leaving planet Earth for good.
End of Chapter 01: Farewell, Planet Earth!
I was always curious about evil Goku, aka Kakarot, and how that would play out, so here is my take on this. Now, I know there's a lot of evil Son Goku fanfiction here (Even tho I'm new here, I already saw a bunch of it); however, only two or three managed to keep me interested and in suspense. I also read a bit of Dragon Ball Multiverse's take on Kakarot, but it seems a little over the top, all of it (the art's good).
Anyway, I also decided to add little Gohan since he's one of my favorite characters in the series. Suppose you're wondering what happened to Chi-Chi; that will be revealed in the next chapter. Also, I apologize for my poor grammar and spelling!
Bye, until the next chapter!
