Chapter 61: Mother's Day
Santana's POV
*Monday 6th May 2024*
Jaxon and Xavier are at daycare right now so Brittany and I have been working for most of the day so far. We've had a few of our own things to take care of so we haven't really seen each other for a while. I'm just on my way to find Brittany just now because I need to talk to her about a few things and then hopefully we can take a break soon to get some lunch together before we go back to our own tasks for the rest of the day.
"Brittany, can I see you in our office please?" I ask my wife as I find her in the accounts department.
"Yes, of course you can" Brittany nods with a smile. "I'll catch up with you later Jack" she tells our employee before following me back to our office.
"So, how is your day so far?" I ask as I look at Brittany as we continue walking.
"It's been a little busy but nothing I can't handle" Brittany replies with a shrug. "How's yours?" she asks me.
"It's been ok" I smile.
"That's good, at least it hasn't been too stressful for you" she smiles back.
"Yeah, thankfully it hasn't" I tell her as we reach the office where we go inside and close the door behind us.
"So, what's up. What did you want to talk about?" Brittany asks me.
"Let's take a seat" I say, not really answering the question just yet.
"Ok" Brittany says as we sit down at my desk across from one another.
"I've got to be honest, there's a couple of things I need to tell you about that you don't know about already" I start.
"What do you mean?" Brittany asks confused.
"There's just a few things we need to talk about" I tell her.
"About work or home?" she asks worriedly.
"Work babe, don't worry. Everything is good at home with us and the boys" I smile.
"Oh, ok" Brittany says breathing a sigh of relief.
"They're not actually that big of a deal so don't panic" I say reassuringly. I guess starting a conversation with your wife about not being honest isn't the best way to begin because clearly, she would worry.
"Ok, you just seemed so serious so I was getting worried for a second" she explains.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" I apologise.
"It's ok, so do continue" Brittany smiles.
"I've made a few business purchases recently that I haven't had the chance to run by you yet so now I am doing that to make you aware of what I've bought since you'll see them on the accounts" I say.
"Oh, really. You've made some business purchases" Brittany says surprised.
"Yeah, nothing big really" I shrug.
"Uh-huh, go on" Brittany nods.
"The first thing I should let you know about is a coffee machine" I state.
"A coffee machine, right" Brittany nods. "And why might we need one of those since we already have one?" she asks curiously.
"It's a far superior model so it works faster and has a lot more features. Also, it's much more economical and runs better so doesn't use as much energy and is better for the environment" I explain.
"Ok" Brittany nods.
"You're very calm about this. I thought you would have been a little mad at me for buying things without making you aware especially things you might deem unnecessary which I believe are necessary" I point out.
"I'm calm because I already know, baby" Brittany laughs.
"What do you mean?" I ask confused.
"Remember when I was supposed to be taking the day off on Friday but I ended up helping the accounts team with something" she says.
"Yeah" I say confused.
"Well, we started going through some of the accounts to try and pinpoint where things had gone wrong when someone alerted me to the fact our business had just bought a new coffee machine. I of course had no recollection of buying it so I asked who did so they told me you did" Brittany smirks.
"Why didn't you say you knew about it before?" I ask.
"I wanted to know how long it would take you to tell me about it" Brittany says amused.
"Oh" I nod.
"Why didn't you tell me right away?" my wife asks.
"Because I really wanted it and I didn't think you'd ok the purchase so I went behind your back and ordered it myself" I admit.
"We're a team babe so we need to make certain decisions together when they come from certain accounts. It's fine to purchase things for your own line of business without my consent but we should be agreeing on the things that affect multiple lines of business" Brittany tells me.
"I know and I am sorry" I say honestly.
"I know you are" Brittany smiles.
"Are you mad about the purchase?" I ask.
"It's not ideal to keep secrets like that and I don't agree that we needed one but it's fine because we've got the finances there and honestly, I love you so much that you can have whatever you want" Brittany smiles.
"Ok" I smile.
"I'm honestly not that bothered by it. Just a little heads-up next time when you buy something so I know if I'm looking at the accounts what the purchases are" she says.
"Absolutely, I'll do that" I smile again.
"Ok, now our talk is out of the way, shall we have some lunch together?" Brittany asks.
"You read my mind so let's do it" I reply.

*Sunday 12th May 2024*
It's Mother's Day today and it's quite special because I'm a mom of two now and it's my first Mother's Day with Xavier. It was special last year when it was our first Mother's Day with Jax and it's still special with him this year, it's just that we have Xavier here now too. It's been such a nice day so far, spending time with Brittany and the kids. Jaxon and Xavier got me a really nice gift for Mother's Day with the help of Brittany which I thought was so sweet.
"We should maybe think about getting ready now" Brittany tells me.
"Yeah, I agree" I nod.
We're actually going out soon because we're all having a family dinner at my parent's house tonight. Most of my family will be there as will the majority of Brittany's family so it should be a nice night. We don't often get to have dinners with our whole family all at the one time unless it's a special occasion so I'm looking forward to today. Also, with it being Mother's Day then it's nice to be able to spend it with our parents and kids.
"Babe, are you ok to keep an eye on the kids while I go for a shower?" Brittany asks me.
"Yeah, of course" I smile.
"I shouldn't be too long so you will have plenty of time to shower after me" Brittany says.
"I didn't plan on showering before we went out so are you telling me I need to because I smell?" I tease.
"No, definitely not" Brittany laughs. "I just assumed you would be showering but you don't have to" she adds.
"Relax, I'm just messing. I will shower before we go out" I smile.
"Ok" Brittany smiles. "Anyway, I won't be long" she says before leaving the room.
"Mommy has gone for a shower just now so how about the 3 of us hang out and play with some toys together?" I ask my children.
"Yeah, toys" Jaxon says excitedly.
"What shall we play with?" I ask Jaxon as I pick up Xavier and follow Jaxon to the playroom.
"Trains, mommy" Jaxon tells me.
"Ok, let's play with your trains" I say as I sit down with both of my children.
After playing for a while, I noticed Jaxon and Xavier getting tired so I decided it was best they went for a nap. It kind of makes sense anyway that they take a nap because we've got a big afternoon planned so there really wouldn't be much time to nap. Once we get to my parent's house the kids will want to join in on the fun so they wouldn't settle to sleep then so it's best they rest just now.
"Hi" Brittany says quietly as she slips her arms around me from behind.
"Hey" I smile as I relax into her embrace.
"What are you up to?" she asks me curiously.
"Just checking my emails on my phone. I was playing with the kids for a while but they were starting to get tired so they're taking a short nap right now so I thought I would check in with my emails" I explain.
"It's Mother's Day and it's a Sunday, we don't need to be working today" Brittany tells me.
"I know but I was bored without you" I shrug as I turn around in her arms.
"That's very cute" my wife smiles at me.
"Come here" I smirk as I pull my wife closer to me.
"Do you want a kiss?" Brittany asks, smirking back at me.
"Maybe" I laugh.
"Ok" she smiles before leaning in to kiss me.
Brittany and I managed to get ourselves ready just in time for the kids wakening up from their nap. We get Jaxon and Xavier changed for the day and get all of our stuff together before heading out to my car. Once we're all sorted in the car and the house is locked up, Brittany drives us off towards my parents' house. The traffic is relatively quiet today so we're arriving in no time at all so we start unloading the car again with all of our stuff.
"Hey, it's us" I say announcing our presence.
"Hey" my sister says as she appears in the hallway.
"Where is everyone?" I ask.
"All over the place really" Carly chuckles, "but mostly outside except mom who is in the kitchen. I was just helping her with some food preparation" she adds.
"Cool" I smile.
"Would you like to help us with our load?" Brittany teases. "We have two infants, a diaper bag and some plates of food" she adds.
"Sure" Carly smiles. "Hey, Jaxon, Xavier, do you want to come with me while your mommies go to the kitchen with the food they brought?" she says to her nephews.
"Ok" Jaxon smiles at my sister.
"Ok, let's go" Carly says as she takes the kids while Brittany and I go to the kitchen.
"Hey" I say to my mom as I enter the kitchen.
"Hi honey" she replies.
"Hi Maribel, how are you" Brittany says.
"I'm good thank you, I am looking forward to us all being together as a family" my mom smiles at Brittany.
"Yeah, we're all looking forward to it too" Brittany smiles back.
"Happy Mother's Day, mom" I say as I kiss her cheek and hand her, her gift.
"Thank you, sweetheart" my mom smiles.
"Speaking of Mother's Day, I better go and see my mom. Is she outside?" Brittany asks.
"Yeah, she is" my mom replies.
"I'll be back in a second to help with the food" Brittany says before going outside to find her mom.
"Are you in here cooking alone mom?" I ask.
"No, your sister was helping me and your dad is outside grilling some food with some of the other guys. I was just in here making the salad and putting some of the dishes in the oven that Brittany's sisters brought" my mom says.
"That's good because I'd hate for you to have to cook for all of us on your own" I say.
"No, we're all pitching in don't worry" my mom smiles at me.
"Ok" I nod.
"So, are you having a nice Mother's Day so far?" my mom asks me as I begin helping her.
"I am" I nod. "I was just thinking though, in a way you should be giving me a gift on Mother's Day" I point out.
"I don't think so" my mom laughs. "You have two kids of your own now so you'll get Mother's Day gifts from them. You don't get Mother's Day gifts from your mom; your mom gets them from you" she adds.
"No but hear me out. If it wasn't for me then I wouldn't be your daughter therefore you wouldn't be a mom so technically you owe me" I shrug.
"Honey, even if I didn't have you, I'd still be a mom because I have a son and another daughter too. You're not an only child remember" she states.
"I was the first born so I made you a mom" I tell her.
"Look, however you want to dress this up, you're still not getting a present from me" my mom shrugs.
"I made you a mom though" I state.
"No, I made myself a mom by getting pregnant" my mom laughs.
"But…"
"Hey, do you need some help?" Brittany asks as she walks into the kitchen, interrupting us.
"You could help getting some plates and utensils out of the cupboard because your mom was beginning to set the table for us all" my mom replies.
"Ok, that I can do" Brittany smiles as she walks over to the cupboard.
"Hey, listen to this Brittany, your wife doesn't think I deserve a Mother's Day gift" my mom states.
"Santana Lopez, that's mean" Brittany says.
"I didn't mean it like that" I laugh.
"What did you mean then?" Brittany asks amused.
"I am the first born so without me, she wouldn't have been a mom so technically she owes me" I explain.
"I don't think it works like that" Brittany laughs.
"It kinda does" I shrug.
"Look, either way you think about it, she should be celebrated today. She fed and clothed you for years and looked after you until you moved out so of course she deserves a gift on Mother's Day" Brittany says.
"Yeah, I know but I also should get a gift for making her a mother, right?" I say.
"I don't know babe" Brittany laughs.
"Come on, think about it" I say.
"Wait, surely you don't expect Jaxon and Xavier to turn around one day and say you don't deserve a gift because they made you a mom?" she queries.
"Yeah, there's a point" my mom says smirking at me.
"Ok, let's just forget I said anything" I state.
"Yes, let's" my mom laughs.
As soon as all of the food is ready, we all start taking it outside and putting the dishes on the table for everyone to take. We all then take our seats and begin putting some food onto our plates. We get all the kids their food first before the rest of us start eating. I've got to admit, it is really nice getting to hang out with all of my family because Xavier and Jaxon love spending time with everyone.
"Mommy" Jaxon says as he looks at me.
"Yeah buddy" I smile at my son.
"I don't want this" Jaxon says as he points to the salad on his plate.
"Ok, you don't need to eat anymore of it because you have eaten some already" I tell him.
"Hot dog?" Jaxon asks.
"Yes, you can have another hot dog but that's it ok, no more food" I tell Jaxon.
"Ok" Jaxon smiles at me.
"I'll get it for you honey" Brittany tells Jaxon as she reaches over and gets him a hot dog before cutting it up for him to eat.
"Do you want anything else to eat Xavier?" I ask my youngest son but he just shrugs at me.
"Do you want some more mashed potatoes?" Brittany asks Xavier.
"Ok" Xavier smiles at Brittany.
"I knew you liked those mashed potatoes grandma made" Brittany teases Xavier as she puts some onto his plate.
"Mommy is going to help you eat because I don't want you to take too big a mouthful" I tell Xavier as I put some potato onto his fork.
"Sauce mommy" Jaxon says to Brittany as he points at his hot dog.
"Do you want some ketchup for it buddy?" Brittany asks Jaxon and he nods. "Ok" Brittany smiles as she puts some sauce on his hot dog.

Brittany, the kids and me got back from my parents house a little while ago. As soon as we did, we got the kids changed and ready for bed since it was getting late. We then read them both a story before they fell asleep. Brittany and I have just gotten ready to go to bed ourselves now so we've just finished changing and went through our nightly routine.
"The couch is ready and waiting for you" I tell Brittany as I hold out a spare pillow and blanket.
"Huh?" she says confused.
"You're sleeping on the couch tonight" I reply.
"I am, why?" Brittany says surprised.
"Next time, side with your wife and not her mom when they're having a discussion" I state.
"Are you serious, do I really need to sleep downstairs?" Brittany asks.
"Yeah" I nod.
"I really can't tell right now if you're teasing or serious. You have that blank expression on your face that you sometimes have where I can't tell what you're thinking" Brittany says.
"Well, to be clear I am serious so yes, you are sleeping downstairs" I shrug.
"I don't want to" Brittany whines.
"You should have thought about that before you sided with my mom and not me" I state.
"Please let me sleep in bed with you tonight" Brittany pleads.
"No, sorry" I shrug.
"Please, pretty please" Brittany says, giving me her best adorable face that I can't resist.
"Ok, fine" I laugh. "You know I can't resist you when you make that face."
"Thank you" Brittany smiles.
"Next time I won't give in so easily" I tell her.
"Come on, you must know I didn't mean any harm by agreeing with your mom" she says.
"Whether I was right or wrong, I still want you to side with me" I explain.
"Honey, it wasn't even a big deal. It was all just a bit of fun in the end so surely me agreeing with your mom wasn't so bad. You know I would 100% back you up in a serious matter though, right?" Brittany says.
"Yeah" I nod.
"Ok so let's just put it behind us" Brittany smiles.
"Ok" I say as I lean in to peck my wife's lips.
"Speaking of moms, you're an amazing mom to our children and I couldn't think of anyone better to coparent them with" Brittany smiles.
"Right back at you, babe" I smile back.
"Ok, shall we get into bed now?" Brittany suggests.
"Yes, I think we should" I nod as we make our way over to the bed and slip under the covers.
"I feel like I might have some making up to do" my wife points out as she hovers over me, smirking at me.
"I kinda feel like that too" I smirk back.
"I should start by doing this" Brittany says as she leans down towards my lips and kisses me.
"A bit more" I say as she goes to pull away.
"Ok" she smiles as she moves slightly to straddle me as she leans down to kiss me again.
We don't pull away this time, instead we continue kissing as our hands begin caressing each other's bodies. I've got to say with the way Brittany kisses me and the added fact I'm pregnant right now, I am getting turned on a lot quicker than normal. I seriously need my wife to step things up a gear because I don't think I can wait much longer.
"I need you inside of me now" I state.
"What part of me?" Brittany whispers seductively in my ear as she kisses the side of my face.
"Any part of you that you want. I just need you inside me now, please" I moan.
"Ok" Brittany smiles before pecking my lips and then adjusting her position.
"Prepare to have your world rocked tonight" Brittany smirks again at me.
"Oh, I'm ready" I assure her.

*Saturday 1st June 2024*
I'm just standing in my bedroom, looking at myself in the mirror, wondering where the last few weeks have gone too. Everything has gone so fast and now as I am taking in my appearance, I realise this pregnancy is going fast. I actually look pregnant now. I'm no longer theoretically doing a favour for my friends; I am actually physically doing it now. As much as I don't really want to look bigger, it is reassuring to know I am getting bigger because it means there is a baby growing inside and we're getting one step closer to Quinn having a family like she wanted.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Brittany asks me as she walks into the room.
"I was about to get changed but ended up looking at myself in the mirror" I say.
"I see" Brittany smiles.
"Look at my belly, I actually look pregnant now. You can totally tell there is a baby in there" I say excitedly.
"Yeah, I guess you can" Brittany agrees as she looks at me.
"It's so exciting because this is really happening for Quinn and James" I smile.
"Yeah, it really is happening" Brittany nods.
"So, what are you up to?" I ask my wife as I turn around to look at her.
"I just came to talk to you for a second about the kids. Haley just called me and asked if Jaxon and Xavier wanted to spend the day at her place. The bouncy house they rented the other day for Ben's birthday has arrived today so she's inviting all the kids over to play" Brittany explains.
"Sounds like fun so I am sure they will like that" I smile.
"I told Haley it would be fine but I just wanted to double check with you first in case you wanted to do something with the kids today" Brittany says.
"I hadn't really made any plans so it's all good. Plus, the boys like spending time with their cousins so they might as well do that today" I say.
"Ok" Brittany nods. "I will go and get them ready and then I'll drop them off at my sister's place."
"Ok" I smile at my wife.
Brittany goes and gets the kids ready while I go back to what I was doing. I'm changed and ready for the day just in time for the boys to head out. They say goodbye to me and I walk them out to the car to help Brittany get them into the car and put their seatbelts on.
"Have a nice time boys and I'll see you both later" I tell my children.
"Bye mommy" Jaxon waves at me.
"Bye sweetie" I smile before closing the door.
"I'm going to hit the grocery store on the way back from Haley's place to get some things for the kids but do you need anything while I'm there?" Brittany asks me.
"Not that I can think of" I smile.
"Ok, I'll see you when I get back" Brittany says as she opens the car door.
"Don't I get a kiss first?" I smirk.
"Sorry, yeah" she says as she leans in and pecks my lips.
"Ok, you can go now" I smile.
"Ok, see you soon" Brittany says as she gets into the car and closes the door. I meanwhile head back inside the house.
I am home alone now and I have no idea what I'm going to do. It sounds great to have the place to myself to do whatever I want but I must admit, I'm bored already. I don't have my kids to keep me on my toes and Brittany isn't here either so what am I meant to do? I could do some work but the reason I took the day off was because I wanted a break from work. There's also some household chores that I could do but that doesn't sound appealing at all.

"Hey" Brittany says as she walks through the door with bags of shopping.
"Hi" I say as I kiss my wife's cheek. "I was just about to call you and see where you were because I thought you might have been home sooner" I add.
"I ended up running a few errands before I went to the grocery store since I had a spare moment to myself. I should have told you though, sorry" Brittany replies.
"It's ok" I smile. "So, do you want some help putting this stuff away?" I ask as I take a bag from her.
"Sure, but let me carry the bags" she says as she takes the shopping bag back from me.
"I was fine" I shrug.
"I know but you're pregnant so you need to take things easy" Brittany says.
"Ok" I smile.
"So, what have you been up to?" Brittany asks curiously as we start putting the shopping away.
"Honestly, nothing" I chuckle.
"Really?" she replies amused.
"Yeah" I laugh.
"I thought you would have been having the time of your life having the house to yourself without me and the kids causing mayhem" Brittany smiles.
"I was so bored, I'm not gonna lie. I just couldn't think of anything I really wanted to do with my time so I ended up doing a bit of online shopping as the TV played in the background" I say.
"Oh god, what have we bought now?" Brittany smirks at me.
"Don't worry, I didn't spend too much money" I tell her.
"Was this for business or for personal?" my wife queries.
"Sort of personal" I reply.
"And what might this sort of personal item be that you bought?" Brittany asks.
"It was jewellery for my sister. I know her birthday isn't until the end of next month but I just saw these earrings that I knew she would love" I explain.
"I mean that kind of spending is ok so it's cool" Brittany smiles.
"Ok, the shopping is away now" I say as I turn around to look at Brittany.
"It is so I'll make us some lunch now" Brittany says as she walks over to the fridge.
"Sounds good" I nod.
Once Brittany has made us some lunch, we sit down together and eat. I know we're not doing anything that exciting but I am not nearly as bored as I was earlier. Just sitting with Brittany and her being there makes me feel ten times better compared to having the house all to myself. We literally don't need to do anything, just being together is better than not being in the house together at all. As soon as we finish eating, we clear away the plates together.
"Lunch was nice, thank you" I tell my wife.
"You're welcome" Brittany smiles.
"So, now that we're both here and are kid free, we could have some alone time" I say with a smirk.
"I actually had some work things I wanted to get caught up on before I need to go and pick the kids back up" she tells me.
"Ok, fair enough" I smile.
"I'll probably just go straight to the office right now and make a start" Brittany says as she walks towards our home office.
"Ok, I'll catch up with you soon" I say before leaving her too it.
I think I might have freaked my wife out a bit today about the whole pregnancy thing. I can sense she's being a little distant ever since I mentioned it earlier. Even though I am excited about the pregnancy progressing, I think for Brittany its becoming a lot more real too but on a whole other level. I like seeing the pregnancy progress because it means my best friend's dream is coming true however, for Brittany it means seeing her wife carry someone else's baby which I know is still hard for her.
As much as I would love to spend time with Brittany right now, I know she is struggling so I'm not going to push her. I know she doesn't have to work today and could easily catch up on Monday but I'm not going to suggest that because she needs this time to herself. To be honest, I don't blame her because this is a complicated situation so if spending a little time apart helps her then we'll just need to do that until things are more settled.

*Friday 7th June 2024*
Today is a big day for Quinn and James because we've got the 12-week scan to go to so they can hear the heartbeat of the baby for the first time. It's just going to be the three of us attending the appointment because Brittany isn't coming, she's going to stay home with our kids. I'm sure my parents or someone would have been happy to babysit for us so Brittany could come but I didn't ask anyone because I think secretly Brittany doesn't feel comfortable going. I know it's been really tough for her recently so I'm letting her decide what she wants to do. I am sure if she wanted to come she would tell me and we could have arranged for someone to look after the boys but since she voluntarily said she would stay home, I knew she didn't want to go.
"Is Brittany not coming today?" Quinn asks me as I get into her car.
"No, not today. She's spending some time with the boys getting to hang out and have some quality time with them" I reply.
"Ok" Quinn smiles.
"So how are you both, are you looking forward to today?" I ask.
"Yeah, we are. We can't wait to see the baby" Quinn says excitedly.
"I can't wait for you both to see the baby either" I smile.
The journey to the hospital was a little weird for us because I'm not used to spending time with Quinn and James on my own. I'm used to spending time with Quinn on my own since she's my best friend or with both of them when Brittany is there but we've never really hung out as a trio except for stuff with the baby. It's not an uncomfortable weird, it's just a different sort of feeling because as I say, we've never had a need to hang out just the 3 of us. It will be good today though to see how things are progressing.
As soon as we arrived at the hospital we went inside and got checked in. They seemed to be running behind schedule today which was a little annoying but I guess it can't be helped. After waiting for what seemed like an age, it was finally our turn to see the doctor.
"Santana Pierce" we hear my name being called.
"Let's do this" I say excitedly.
"Yes, let's" Quinn says just as excitedly as we all head to the doctor's room.
"You ok James, you look worried" I say amused as we reach the room.
"I don't know, this is weird. I don't know what I'm supposed to do in this situation because Quinn's my wife but Santana you're the one who's going to be like on the table or whatever" James admits embarrassed.
"It's just an ultrasound scan, I'm not getting examined as such" I reassure him.
"Yeah, we're here to hear the baby's heartbeat and look at the ultrasound. It's going to be ok" Quinn tells James.
"I just don't want to make Santana uncomfortable with a guy hanging around" James admits.
"Come on, we've known each other for long enough. You know I say things how they are so if I was uncomfortable you'd know. Plus, this is your baby too. I know Quinn is my best friend and the main driving force for me to do this was for her but it is your baby as well so you can be involved. You don't need to keep at a distance to be polite to me" I explain.
"Ok" James nods.
"Come on, let's go and see this baby of yours" I smile as we walk inside the room.

As soon as the scan was done, James had to rush off to work so we dropped him off before Quinn and I decided to hang out for a while. We're both taking the day off so we thought we might as well spend time together. We've decided to stop at a café to have lunch together because we're both so hungry. Quinn hasn't eaten all morning because she was too nervous about the scan and I'm eating for two so it made sense food should be the first priority.
"Will James be ok?" I ask as our food comes over and we begin eating.
"Yeah, he just doesn't really want to overstep because this is a new process to us all. You and I are close so we're always on that level whereas James doesn't really know the boundaries. It's a bit hard for him because we always assumed these kinds of things like the scans and appointments would be different. It would be me growing the baby inside me and it'd be me and him going to these things alone" Quinn explains.
"I understand that but I mean it when I want you both to be as involved as you want to be. At the end of the day, this isn't my baby it's yours so you have every right" I smile.
"Ok" Quinn smiles back.
"Speaking of the pregnancy, can I talk to you about something else" I say to Quinn.
"Of course, you can" Quinn smiles.
"You can totally say no if you want but I thought that since I'm pregnant now that maybe we could transfer everything to my own doctor. I don't have anything against your doctor but mines has been with me through all of my pregnancies so I wouldn't mind keeping it that way" I say.
"You're giving us a baby Santana, so you can have whatever you want" Quinn smiles.
"Uh…ok" I say surprised. I didn't think she would agree so quickly since this is her baby we're talking about.
"Honestly, you're doing this massive thing for us so you can do whatever you want that you think will help us all. You're just as important in this process as the baby so you say whatever you need and we'll do it" Quinn assures me.
"Ok, cool" I nod.
After hanging out with my best friend for a while, it was time for both of us to go home. It was especially time for me to go home because I hadn't seem my children since this morning and I really missed them. Once Quinn dropped me off at home, I ran inside to see what my little family were up to. The house was really quiet, especially downstairs, so I made my way upstairs to see what was going on.
"Hey" I smile as I walk into my bedroom.
"Hi" Brittany smiles back.
"Are the boys napping?" I ask.
"Yeah, they've just went to sleep not too long ago so it's probably going to be some time before they wake up" she tells me.
"That's ok, I can spend some time with them later" I smile.
"Did the appointment go ok?" Brittany asks me.
"Yeah, everything is good" I nod. "We are going to transfer everything over to my usual doctor from now on though" I add.
"Oh" Brittany says surprised.
"There is nothing wrong with Quinn's doctor or what we've discussed so far, I just thought since I was the pregnant one then I'd feel more comfortable with the doctor I had when I was pregnant with Jaxon and Xavier. She knows everything about me and how my body adapted previously so I might as well have her during this pregnancy" I explain.
"That makes sense I suppose so you should do that" Brittany smiles. "It is a complicated situation so whatever makes you most comfortable you should do" she adds.
"Exactly" I smile.

*Sunday 9th June 2024*
It's been a quiet morning so far for my little family. Jaxon and Xavier slept well last night which meant Brittany and I got to sleep a little later this morning which was nice. Once we were all up, we had breakfast together and played with the kids for a while. The boys are now taking their usual morning nap so I'm just doing some laundry while Brittany is upstairs. I'm not too sure what my wife is doing upstairs at the moment though.
"Hey" I smile as Brittany walks into the kitchen.
"Hey" Brittany replies.
"What are you up to?" I ask curiously.
"I think I might go to the gym today and do a workout, is that ok?" Brittany asks me.
"Yeah, that's fine" I smile. "I didn't really have much plans anyway so I'll be fine looking after the kids myself for a while if you want to go to the gym" I add.
"Ok, thanks" Brittany smiles back.
"When are you heading out?" I ask.
"I was just going to go now since the kids are still napping. I'll be back in time for us to have lunch together with the boys" she tells me.
"Ok, see you soon" I smile.
"Bye" Brittany replies and then heads out the door.
I am now spending time on my own again today since the kids are sleeping. I honestly don't know what it is at the moment but I feel so bored when my wife and children aren't around to hang out with me. It's different at work because you know you're there to work but when I'm at home, all I can focus on is being with my family. I don't want to do household chores, I don't want to hang out myself, I don't want to catch up on some work. I just want to do something fun with my family.
Eventually after amusing myself for a while, playing some silly game on my iPad that I don't even like, Xavier and Jaxon woke up. I was so grateful when their nap ended because I could finally do something nice and spend my time better. We hung out for a while watching some cartoons and playing with some toys. We just got finished tidying up the toys when we heard a car pull up outside so we're assuming it's Brittany home now which is great.
"Hey, I'm home" I hear my wife say a few minutes later.
"Hi" I reply from the living room.
"There are my favourite people" Brittany says, smiling brightly at the kids as she walks into the room.
"How was your workout?" I ask.
"It was great. It really allowed me to let off some steam and channel my energy" she tells me.
"That's good" I smile.
"Have I got time for a quick shower before I make lunch?" Brittany asks.
"Well, I did want to get the boys something to eat soon so how about I make lunch while you're in the shower and that way we can have both. You can shower and the boys can eat a little sooner" I suggest.
"No, I don't want you having to run around behind us. I'll make lunch and then shower" Brittany says.
"I can handle making some food so it's fine. You shower and I will make lunch" I smile as I kiss my wife's cheek.
"Ok, well I am doing the washing up" Brittany insists.
"That's totally fine" I nod.
"Ok, I won't be long" Brittany says before going upstairs to shower.
I get the kids and take them to the kitchen so they can be near me when I start lunch. I get them both settled on their bouncers to sit before going over to the fridge to have a look to see what I can make us all to eat. Once I've decided what we're eating, I begin preparing the food. I'm only doing it for about 5 minutes when I hear some movement and then Brittany appears in the kitchen with us.
"Do you need any help?" Brittany asks as comes up behind me and places her hand on the small of my back.
"I'm ok, but thank you" I smile.
"Ok" she smiles.
"Lunch is almost ready. I didn't expect you to be so quick though" I point out.
"Yeah, I just wanted a quick shower to wash off since I was working out but I didn't bother washing my hair or anything" Brittany shrugs.
"Fair enough" I nod.
"My hair is a mess right now but I've tied it up so I don't care" she tells me.
"I think you look hot with your hair tied up" I smirk.
"Thanks" Brittany smiles as she kisses my cheek. "As always, your hair is on point today" she adds.
"I must admit, I am having a good hair day today" I smirk as I throw my hair back over my shoulder.
"So hot" Brittany winks.
"Thanks" I reply, blushing slightly. I know Brittany compliments me all the time so it shouldn't make me blush but today is different because there has been a slight distance between us recently so it feels nice today.
"So, boys, how are you?" Brittany asks changing the subject as she walks over to the kids.
"They're excited to have you home" I smile.
"What have you been up to?" my wife asks the kids.
"Toys" Jaxon tells Brittany.
"You played with some toys, that sounds fun" Brittany smiles.
"Yeah, and what else did we do Jax?" I ask my son.
"TV" Jaxon replies.
"Yeah, we watched some cartoons together on the TV" I say.
"Sounds like you had a nice morning together" Brittany says as she kisses the kids on the head.
