Flashback

The last family day, they didn't even study at Auradon Prep anymore, but they always had Sunday, which was like family day, so there was a table and they laughed and had fun together. It was a special day.

"Mal, sorry."

Tinker Bell said.

"What? Why?"

Mal opened her eyes in fear.

When she said that, Tinker Bell threw a tiny spark of flame towards Mal, who instantly absorbed the fire.

Flashback

"Me? Pregnant? I don't want a child."

The young Maleficent told the doctor that she was on the island examine villains.

(...)

"Annoying little girl, when are you going to do me serve a useful purpose?"

Maleficent screamed at the little child.

(...)

"You're just like your father! Weak like him."

The mother said just to make the child sad.

(...)

"Look at you, you got into a street fight because of that petty thief, now find a way to clean up that blood."

(...)

Outside or in the conscious world, Mal had tears in her eyes and the flame that had been small was now extremely large, but what was most striking was how this fire kept growing wildly

"That's enough, I'm going."

Jay, who was on the other side of the lake, wanted to get out of there and go to her friend.

"Wait, Jay."

Carlos pulled him back and made him sit down to watch what the half fairy and the other fairy were doing.

"Mal? Mal? Can you hear me?"

Tinkerbell, who was next to her, was feeling more than the others. The fire was really hurting her.

"Go away! You've always been a bad mother."

The real was confused with the unreal and Mal had no idea that he was shouting at the fairy and not his mother.

"Mal! I need you to come back!" Tinkerbell asked fearfully. "The place where you first felt peace!"

"Useless!"

Maleficent's voice kept echoing in his ears.

"No!"

Mal shouted and without realizing it hit a tree.

"Jay!"

Tinker Bell shouted loud enough for Mal to hear and remember his friend.

"Who told you to hit him, you idiot!"

Maly shoved his thirteen-year-old friend.

"He had a knife!"

"And you with a bruised face, I know how to defend myself."

"Okay, consider it a thank you for the other day."

"Okay, but next time I'll take care of myself."

"Carlos!"

Tinkerbell shouted again, and that fire hurt more.

Flashback

"Look, Ben loves you, give him a chance."

"Why do you support him so much?"

"Let's just say you're cooler when you're with him."

"Thanks."

"Evie!"

Flashback

"M, you're not your mother."

"I have her name, her blood, her magic, so..."

"But, you're good, you love, you protect your family, and your name being Maleficent is just a coincidence."

"But..."

"Now come here, as my son's aunt you can't act like that."

"I what..."

She looked at her friend in surprise. Evie was three months pregnant.

"You're my sister, of course you'd be this baby's aunt."

"I love you E."

"I love you too M."

(...)

Mal gradually calmed down and slowly the flame dimmed and changed color again.

"Who said you were good?"

Tinkerbell said what came into her mind at that moment.

(...)

Flashback.

"Mal, do you take Ben to be your husband?"

"I do."

"Ben, do you take Mal to be your wife?"

"I do."

"I love you."

He whispered softly before they had their first kiss as husband and wife.

(...)

"You're good Mal, you're the best friend for your friends, the best wife Ben could dream of. You're the Mal everyone loves."

She started to hear everyone she loves say things to her.

"You're strong."

He heard Evie say.

"Leader."

Lonnie spoke. It was her.

"Smart."

It was Carlos' voice.

"Kind."

Belle.

"Smart."

Adam said.

"Good."

Doug.

"Friend."

Jane said.

"My love."

Ben. Her Ben speaking, through a smile.

"You're our Mal."

Maly finally returned to the real world and when her eyes were the same green as before, Tinkerbell saw that she had achieved what she wanted. She had transformed her magic, now she was the master of her own magic.

"Now what?"

She picked up the flame that had taken on a new form, it was now purple, almost lilac. Tinkerbell took the magic in her hands and put it back into Mal's heart, who gave a great cry of pain and fell over. Jay rushed over to hold her

"What happened?"

She asked tiredly and lost in time.

"I just gave you a reason to use your magic."

The fairy explained tiredly.

"Did it work?"

Mal asked exhausted and breathless.

"Look at yourself." With the little strength she had, she grabbed the flame and felt a new magic inside her. "Your magic is yours now, without your mother's interference."

"Cool, it's cool and now what?"

"It's over, Mal."

Tink warned.

"Already?"

"Already? Do you have any idea how long it's been?"

Carlos asked her, looking up at the darkening sky

"Too much time passes."

"You can go home now."

"Come on, I'll take you."

Jay picked her up, seeing that Mal wouldn't be able to walk on her own.

"How about a glass of water first?"

She asked, seeing the huge fountain in front of her

"The parchment did a good job giving you this magic."

Rashid said to Tinkerbell as soon as the others had gone

"He didn't show me that, I always knew that was the magic, do you really think I'd do well teaching Battle Magic?"

She asked, laughing at the possibility.

"What did he show you then?"

"Mal. This girl has a lot of magic and a lot of problems too. Maleficent did everything she could to make her evil, but she's just not bad, just as Agatha wasn't too evil. Mal is not a weapon, Rashid, don't forget that."

Tinkerbell warned, remembering the drawing of Mal on the parchment.

"The weird guy, are we leaving or do you want to be a lost boy?"

Jay shouted to Rashid

"Nice to see you again, Tinker."

He gave her hand a gentle kiss.

"Same, System Failure.

Tinkerbell said goodbye to the man she had known for decades. Rashid's eyes changed and he subtly showed the truth that the fairy knew about him.
