It soared far, it disappeared. The explosive throw from Theldar kicked up dirt, blocking the sight of others. When the dirt cleared and Theldar was visible, one thing was different from his looks. His right arm's sleeve was torn off from the force, leaving his bulging biceps and other muscles bare. Then there was the fact that the whole suit was straining over Theldar's body, his muscles bulging out.

Some stray sparks flittered around Theldar, the stronger ones striking the ground and leaving a scorching spot. His panting voice cut through the silence. "I...have never...used so much power."
The tracker in Aizawa's hand beeped, drawing attention from everyone. "You have to find out your limit, then push past those limits to become stronger." He turned the screen over, showing a staggering result.

"4.7 kilometers!?" Most of the class exploded, one in particular. "Awesome! That looks so much fun!" "We can use our quirks! That's the Heroics Department for you!"
Those excited shouts made Aizawa slump forward a step, stopping the talking that was going on. "'It looks fun', you say? Are you planning to have a good time in the three years you are staying in U.A? All right then." His dead eyes lifted and looked at them, a dark aura surrounding them as their excitement died down. "In that case, the person to place last in total points will be deemed 'hopeless'. And instantly expelled."

His whole body leaned back a bit, his entire face on display as a hand lifted some hair, revealing a maniac smile and eyes full of dead excitement. "Our freedom lets us dispense with students as we please! Welcome to the Heroics Department!" The silence was heavy on others as a weight was placed on them. "The last place..gets expelled!? This is our first day here! And even if it wasn't...it's too unfair!"
The stare the girl got made her shrink down. "Natural disasters, villains, even daily mistakes...Japan is full of 'unfairness'. It's the heroes' job to stop that, or at least mitigate the destruction."

His expression changed back to boredom, "If you thought that you could go to some cafe or restaurant after school to chat, then too bad. Here at U.A, it will be hardship after hardship."
"This is 'Plus Ultra', I expect you to overcome these hardships and climb to the top." The other students looked at each other, finally stopping at Theldar as he started chuckling, drawing some confused looks as Aizawa's incredulous stare was directed at him. "What's so funny, Mountainback?" Theldar's chuckling evolved into loud laughter, his chest rising and falling as he breathed hard.

"Bring it on, teacher! I, Theldar Mountainback, shall crush those hardships and become a great hero!" His roar encouraged others to adopt smiles, the tension being broken by the high spirits of Theldar.
Aizawa had a smirk appear on his face, finally seeing the possible potential that Theldar already showed. "Now that the demonstration is over, time to start the test."

[50-meter dash]

Theldar was against Kirishima, the other high-spirited boy in the class. "Good luck man!"

"Get ready! Set. Go!"

With a big boost of speed, Theldar used Dash and Second Wind to increase his speed to quadruple his sprint speed. "2.87 seconds!...4.58 seconds!" The results for Theldar had surprised Iida so much that his glasses almost fell off, but with quick adjustments, it was back to where it should be. Kirishima congratulated Theldar, and he praised Kirishima for getting such speed with just muscle. Most were awed by his superior speed, Mina even praised his speed.

[Grip Strength]

"540 kilograms!" Sero looked at Shoji, his multi-arms pressing down on the device. "Whoa! 540 kilos! What are you, a gorilla!? No, with those arms, more like an octopus!" Midoriya looked at his results, reading 56 kilograms. "Ugh..."

"OORAGH!" A loud crack followed Theldar's mighty shout! The device was shattered as it crumbled under his muscled grip. Kirishima was next to him immediately, "Whoa dude! Just with muscle power and a spark of your quirk, you managed to completely destroy it!"
Kirishima's words drew attention to Theldar, Momo got a thoughtful look on her face, Mina's smile seemed to be widening even more, Todoroki looked as stoic as ever, Uraraka had an awed expression, and Shoji was a bit wide-eyed.

[Standing long jump]

Bakugo sparked his hands a bit, checking to see if he had enough sweat ready. His eyes went up and saw the 12-meter sandbox.
Grinning a bit, his hands went behind his back, palms sparking with light and heat, making him sweat more. "Go!"

*BOOM!*

The explosion lifted his body and propelled it forward, clearing it instantly. "Man Bakugou, you cleared it so fast!" Kirishima called out, making him smile a bit wider at the praise.
"Theldar, you're next." Aizawa droned flatly.

Heavy footsteps stepped forward, drawing looks from Momo, Mina, and some others. Theldar's face was full of focus, his beard was braided with some metal now. He stopped on the pad, stretching his full body as he did some squats for a warm-up. "Ready?" He nodded, some leg muscles clenching and bulging out from the force his quirk was putting on them.

"I am a dwarf, who shall power through every obstacle. I will be a hero, who shall shield those that need it. I am a warrior, for I fight the dangers that are ahead of me." His legs crackled with his signature teal lightning, but this time it was with more power than most had seen even in the ball throw.
"I shall show the beauty of strength and the Will of a Dwarf!" His legs bent as they were covered in light.

"ORA!" The crack of ground was louder than his shout, with webs spreading around. His body soared further, clearing the sandbox faster than Bakugo. But he went further than Bakugo, intending to show his limits in this test. His flight lasted a total of 6 seconds, going further than anyone else. "Damn, Theldar might even beat us all in this test!" Kirishima was the first to shout from the group, again. Momo looked amazed, feeling invigorated by his words. Todoroki's eyes were even colder, declaring a challenge without words. Some were cheering, some stayed silent, but most of all, they felt energy fill their chest like a nuclear bomb of vigor was blasted in their face.

"Time to present the results." The air grew heavy with every word Aizawa said, his face was more emotionless than Todoroki's. "It would take forever to recite all your scores, so I'll just show the total sum of your scores." He turned the tablet screen up as it projected a hologram, showing a scoreboard.
Some awed 'Ooh's and 'Aah's were voiced.

#1: Theldar Mountainback

#2: Yaoyorozu Momo

#3: Todoroki Shoto

The list down and down, until everyone saw the last place.

#21: Midoriya Izuku

Midoriya looked at his score with a sad face, already knowing that he couldn't do it. "Oh yeah, the whole "Last place get kicked out" was a lie." The silence was louder than any sound that could have ever been produced. "It was a logical ruse to make you push past your limits."

"WHAAAAAT!?"

"Haha! That's what I expected of U.A!" Theldar's laughter shifted the mood from surprise to amusement. Momo was the one to speak next: "Of course it was a lie, there is no reason to expel a great hero student from the hero course."
The stare she got from Aizawa told otherwise, but because no one saw his eyes no questions were asked. "With that, the day is over. Go get your syllabus from the classroom. And Midoriya, go get yourself patched up by Recovery Girl, you're probably going to die the next day." With nothing else to say he walked off, giving no moment to the students for any questions.

The school day was over, and every single student talking to new or old friends as they left U.A grounds. Theldar yawned, feeling the tiredness from so much physical activity. 'It's similar to father's regime, but not that intense.' His eyes drifted around the entrance gate, seeing some interesting people walk around.
Finally, he saw someone he knew, Momo. "Oi Momo!"

She turned around, seeing Theldar walk to her. She put up a fake smile, seeing the wide grin he was sporting. "Good job!" "No thank you."

.

..

...

"What?" Theldar looked at her in confusion. What did he do wrong?
"Sorry!" Momo bowed deeply, face red in embarrassment. "I had the wrong assumption from your approach, I apologize deeply!" Her deep bow went even deeper, unintentionally showing off more curves than necessary. Theldar's face got a shade pinker when looking at her body with the mind of a hormonal teenager. "Ay ay, no need to be so formal. I guess you 'ave experience when dealing with total perverts." He pinched the base of his nose, closing his eyes shut to push down his slight amount of redness. "I wanted to congratulate you on placing second. Back in junior high the top five were always boys, with all the 'Gotta be strong to impress this girl' stuff, it was sometimes annoying when they got too competitive." He huffed with annoyance.

Momo's smile became a tad bit bigger.

"Alright, gotta go. Sorry to take up some of your time." He waved at her, his grin now a smile. Momo bowed her head, "And I'm sorry for making such early assumptions of your manners." He walked past her, his strong back stretching some parts of the fabric.

"See you tomorrow!"
