Before we begin…
"Talking."
'Thinking.'
"Flashback quotes. Speech from communicator/intercom."
When we last left off, Asta was able to triumph against Shoto and Mezo and win his battle trial. But afterwards, Katsuki almost learned about One For All's existence because of Izuku's mistake in trying to explain his Quirk to him. As the next school day begins, what other trials will await the boys next? Find out now.
"Excuse us, young man! Will you tell us how All Might's classes are going?!"
As soon as he arrived at U.A. for another school day, Izuku was suddenly surrounded by numerous journalists and news reporters equipped with cameras and microphones.
"Uh, please excuse me, ma'am, I need to go to the nurse's office!"
"Hey, wait!"
The news lady tried to stop him and get her many questions answered, but Izuku was already speeding to his destination, hoping to get his cast off and maybe his bandages removed too.
However, the news crew was able to find more students to talk to so they could get the scoop about All Might being a teacher at the popular Hero school, starting with Ochaco, who was about as overwhelmed as Izuku was.
"Ma'am, will you tell us about what the Symbol of Peace is like as a teacher?"
"Wh-What's he like?" Ochaco tried to speak her thoughts, but it was pretty tough because of how many cameras were pointing at her. "Well… He's very muscular!"
The group of reporters and journalists continued to speak with the students one by one.
"What do you think of All Might as a teacher?"
When Tenya was asked this, he began to reply with confidence.
"He made me recognize anew that I attend an educational institution that is the best of the best. Of course, his dignity and character go without saying, but we students are constantly able to see his humorous side. It's a unique opportunity to learn about being a top Hero directly from one."
The journalists and reporters started to get bored with what Tenya had to say because he spoke for too long. After they thanked the boy for his time, the crew moved on to the next student.
"Excuse me! Can you tell me about All Migh-" The news lady's eyes widen when she recognizes the boy she's talking to just by looking at his spiky ash-blonde hair. "Oh? You're the one who was caught by the Sludge Villain…"
Katsuki got irritated before glaring at the news lady.
"Get that mic out of my face before I blow it up along with your cameras."
The news lady shivered at Katsuki's quiet tone before she and the crew backed off.
"M-M-Message received, young man!" the lady squeaks before looking for someone else. "Um… about All Might…" the lady opens her eyes and gasps to see Aizawa standing in front of her and her crew with an irritated expression. "Wow, you're scruffy. What's your deal?"
"All Might isn't on duty today," he tells the news lady bluntly before shooing the reporters. "You're disturbing the students trying to enter. Please leave."
The news lady looked dumbfounded and was about to retort before…
"Alrighty! Today's another day!" Aizawa and the reporters pause when they hear the loud voice of a young man moving in their direction, a voice that the former of whom recognizes too well. "Ha ha! I even managed to get here on time just by jogging on my hands! Not too shabby if I say so myself!"
'Oh boy…' Aizawa said mentally as he saw Asta continue to make his way inside U.A. before looking over to the reporters, already knowing where this was going since they were just now noticing the boy.
"It's the Quirkless boy!" The news lady says as she and the other reporters continue to watch him go inside the building on his hands before jumping with them and landing on his feet. "Not just All Might being a teacher, getting an interview with U.A.'s first Quirkless student will make an excellent scoop!"
The news lady was about to run to Asta and try to speak with him before Aizawa blocked her path.
"Classes are about to start momentarily. No more questions, please."
Aizawa turns around and began to leave to teach class while the reporters continued to try and get answers.
"Now hold on! I would like to speak directly with All Might and that Quirkless boy!"
"I feel like I've seen him before…" another journalist says as he observes Aizawa closely.
Aizawa nearly sighs in annoyance as he continued to hear the shouts of the journalists as he kept moving further away from them.
'I can't believe All Might was able to work as a Hero with all this. The same can somewhat be said with Kurosaki when he attends here in his current condition.'
As Aizawa got further, the news lady pouted at him.
"Hey! Just a little time is fine! Just let me see them!"
"Ma'am! Wait!"
A male journalist tried to stop the news lady from going further on school grounds, but before he could grab her wrist, the lights above the entryway flashed red before a series of metallic doors started rising up, startling the news lady as she jumped back to avoid getting a foot caught.
"Jesus! What the hell was that?!"
"It's the U.A. Barrier, ma'am," the reporter explains. "At least that's what we call it."
"Well, it's lame!" the news lady shouts with white eyes.
"If someone tries to get in without a student ID or a pass to enter, the security system kicks in. And from what I've heard, there are sensors all over the school."
"Seriously?!" The news lady starts grinding her teeth as she glares at the barrier. "They think they're so high and mighty! They could at least give us a brief comment."
"Seriously, we've been here for two days, and they still won't say anything."
The reporters and journalists continued to talk to each other about this for quite some time. While they were, they failed to notice someone watching U.A. from afar.
With grayish-blue hair and a black shirt and pants, this man didn't take his eyes on that school for even a second. Moments later, the fingers in his right hand started to slowly flex.
"Good work on yesterday's combat training," Aizawa tells his students as homeroom began. "I saw the video and results." His tired eyes go to Katsuki first. "Bakugo, you're talented, but don't act like a kid, especially when it comes to personal matters."
Katsuki bit his lip lightly before shifting his eyes away.
"Yeah, I know."
Asta and Izuku raised their brows at the explosion user. Usually, he'd act more smug, but not this time.
"And Midoriya."
Izuku quickly straightens himself with his eyes on his desk.
"S-Sir?"
Aizawa was silent for a few seconds before speaking.
"You settled it by breaking your arm again, huh?" Izuku remained quiet, but frowned, feeling just as disappointed as he'll bet Aizawa is for the stunt he pulled yesterday. "You can't keep saying you can't help it because of your lack of control. I don't like saying the same thing over and over. As long as you fix the control issue, there's a lot you'll be able to do. Feel a sense of urgency, Midoriya."
Izuku felt a small tug on his lips before nodding seriously.
"Yes, sir!"
Aizawa then sets his stare onto Asta, who didn't flinch at all.
"And Kurosaki… You're a strong combatant and definitely know how to adapt to certain situations, but you should try and work on making plans ahead of plans for future battles."
"Yessir!"
After gaining that acknowledgment, Aizawa carries on.
"Now let's get down to homeroom business. Sorry about the late notice, but today, I'll have you…"
A majority of the students started to tense up, wondering if they were gonna take another special test or something else related to the Quirk Assessment test.
"… Decide on a class representative."
Everyone with the exception of Asta, Katsuki, Shoto, Momo, and Fumikage sighs in relief.
[It's actually a normal school activity!]
"Pick me!" Kirishima immediately says. "I want to be class rep!"
"Me too!" Kaminari chimes in.
"I want to take a crack at it," Kyoka offers.
"It's a job for m-"
"I'll be the leader!" Mina shouts, interrupting Yuga yet again.
Asta kept listening to the many volunteers the students were making with beady black pupils, from Katsuki's shouting to Mineta's perverted intentions before being silenced by Kyoka with her jacks.
"Wow… everyone really wants to represent our class, huh, Izuku?"
"Uh… Yeah…" Izuku agrees with a slow nod.
"Everyone please settle down!"
The students got quiet when they heard Tenya yell over them. As they remained silent, the boy in glasses continued to speak.
"It is a job with the serious responsibility of leading others. It's not just for anyone who wants to do it. It is a calling that requires the trust of those around you. If we want to use democracy to decide on a true leader, then we should hold an election to choose one."
While Asta and Izuku were amazed by Tenya's speech, a majority of the students deadpanned at him.
[Your hand is raised the highest, though!]
"But hang on," Kaminari spoke up. "Why would you suggest that method?"
Tsuyu nods in agreement with the blonde.
"We haven't known each other for that long, so how can we have trust or anything?"
Kirishima tilts his head at Tenya.
"Tsu's got a point. What's to stop anyone from voting for themselves?"
Tenya points his hand at Kirishima.
"Don't you think that's precisely why whoever receives multiple votes here can be truly considered the most suitable person?" He turns around to address Aizawa, who just stepped inside his yellow sleeping bag. "What is your opinion, sensei?"
Aizawa zips his sleeping bag up before responding while falling over for a nap.
"I don't care, as long as you decide before homeroom is over."
"Thank you very much, sir!"
Asta and Izuku look at each other over the outcome but didn't say a word, mentally promising each other to vote for their personal opinions on who should represent their class.
Tenya passes around flashcards for the students to vote for their choices. It took them minutes to think about it, but everyone was able to write down their pick and turn it in.
After the votes were observed, Tenya wrote down the election results on the chalkboard. Asta and Izuku scanned the names to see who won, and when they reached the top, they screamed in unison when they saw the former's name on top with five votes while Izuku was in second with three.
""WE GOT THE TOP TWO VOTES?!"" the two best friends shouted with white eyes and dropped jaws.
Snarling at the results, Katsuki stood up from his desk and glared at every single student.
"Okay, which one of y'all voted for these two idiots?!"
Sero snickers at Katsuki while shaking his head.
"Come on, dude, did you really expect us to vote for a violent hothead?"
"What did you say?!"
While Katsuki continued to rant, Ochaco and Mina were whistling an innocent tune while they both thought:
'It'll be scary if Bakugo found out.'
As for Tenya, he looked very upset when he saw that he only had a single vote. And it wasn't even on himself.
"No… keep calm…" Tenya tells himself. "You were the one who chose this system, and you must respect it!"
Mina and Tsuyu can tell how Tenya's feeling while Momo and Rikido give him sympathetic looks.
"He doesn't seem to be the type to vote for himself…" Momo said with Rikido nodding.
"But he really wanted to do it, too."
After Momo nodded back, her eyes drifted onto Asta, who was the winner of the vote. Or, more specifically, she stared at the boy's hair. Her eyes glinted, unable to shake off this feeling that she had met this boy before when she was younger, but she just couldn't figure out when that was.
Shoto, having acknowledged the results without a word, was also keeping his eyes on the gray-blonde boy, still remembering yesterday's battle.
"Have you all decided?" Aizawa asks lazily as he lifts himself off the ground to look at the results. After reading them twice he nods and shifts his groggy eyes at Asta and Izuku, who were still shocked with the votes they got. "Then the class rep is Kurosaki, and the deputy class rep will be Midoriya. Both of you please get in front of the class."
Izuku's eyes widen even further when he learned about the existence of a deputy class rep while he and Asta obeyed Aizawa's orders.
"S-S-Seriously? Th-This is happening right now?"
Izuku continued to stutter because of being in front of the class while Asta has starry eyes, being just as surprised as Izuku.
"W-Well… I didn't expect to get this many votes," Asta says before slamming his fist to his chest. "But I am deeply flattered by your decisions and will do everything in my power to not let you all down!"
While some students had to cover their ears because of Asta's loud voice, mainly Kyoka, most of the students were satisfied with the outcome.
"This will be pretty interesting," Tsuyu comments while smiling at the two but mostly looking at Asta.
"Yeah," Kirishima agrees. "From his willpower to his physical strength, there's no doubt in my mind Asta's a good choice. Even Midoriya can be pretty fired up, so that makes a good duo."
Izuku continued to sweat despite the mostly positive reception he was receiving from most of the students. While he was flattered that there were three people who considered him, in his mind, he wasn't quite sure if he can pull it off, even if it's a deputy position.
When the lunch period began, Asta and Izuku sat with their friends and chatted. While Asta continued to chow down his food like a pack of wolves, much to Tenya, Tsuyu, and Ochaco's worry, Izuku consumed his meal at a slower, still pondering about his elected position as deputy class rep.
"Wow, there are a lot of people here today!" Ochaco exclaims in surprise.
"That's because everyone in the Hero course, Support course, and Management course meet and eat in the same place," Tenya explains to her.
Ochaco nods at the information before taking another bite of her meal.
"Man, the rice here is so delicious!"
"I know, right?!" Asta chimes in while getting close to finishing all of his food, much to the amusement of Kirishima, Mina, Ochaco, and Tenya because of the speed. As he was about to take another bite, Asta noticed that Izuku has barely touched his food. "Something on your mind, bud?"
Izuku's eyes widen.
"Oh! Sorry, it's just…" Izuku's eyes soften as he looks back at his bowl. "Even though I've been chosen as your deputy, I don't know if I'm qualified for it."
Asta was baffled by what his friend said.
"What?! Don't speak like that, man! I know you got what it takes!"
"Asta-kun's right, Deku-kun."
"Indeed," Tenya agrees with Ochaco after swallowing his food. "You'll do fine. Your courage and judgment at critical moments make you a worthy deputy for Asta. In fact, those traits of yours are why I voted for you to be the class representative."
"What?!" Izuku was shocked by this revelation. "You did?!"
Tenya nodded before Ochaco spoke up next.
"But didn't you want to be class rep too, Iida-kun? I mean, you've got glasses and everything."
Asta, Izuku, Tsuyu, Mina, and Kirishima sweat drop as they simultaneously thought:
'She just talks without thinking…'
Tenya takes a sip of his beverage before answering.
"Wanting to do it and being suitable for it are different issues. I merely did what I judged to be correct."
"Merely?" Izuku echoed. "You don't usually use that word…"
"Oh, that's…"
Ochaco noticed how a little tense he got before she leaned her head close.
"I've been thinking…" She had a face of suspicion at first, but seconds later, it morphed into excitement. "Are you a rich boy, Iida-kun?"
"R-Rich?" Tenya's face turns pale.
"Whoa! Seriously?!" Mina gasps before grinning. "You actually come from a rich family?!"
Tenya blinks at his friends nervously a few times before sighing.
"I tried to change how I talk because I didn't want to be called that."
While Izuku, Ochaco, and Mina peer into Tenya out of curiosity, Asta tilts his head slightly while finishing the last remains of his food.
'Huh… why does what Tenya just said sound familiar?'
Tenya remained silent for a bit, but since his friends' curiosity won't die out anytime soon, he decided to spill it.
"Yes. My family has been Heroes for generations, and I'm the second son."
[What?!] Everyone except Tsuyu exclaims in surprise.
Tenya nods before smiling in pride.
"Do any of you know the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?"
"Of course!" Izuku answers quickly before anyone else could. "He's a really popular Hero who has sixty-five Sidekicks working at his Tokyo agency!" He was about to keep talking before he made a face of realization. "Wait… Don't tell me..!"
Asta and the others were thinking the same thing, but Tenya was quick to confirm it.
"That's right! Ingenium is my brother!"
""He's telling us straight out!"" Ochaco and Mina shout in unison.
""That's amazing!"" Asta and Izuku say together with stars in their eyes.
"Crazy!" Kirishima chimes in. "Who would have thought that our classmate would be the brother of one of the coolest Heroes?!"
Tsuyu nods with a ribbit.
Tenya pushes his glasses up with a prideful expression.
"Ingenium is a likable Hero who honors the rules and leads people. I set my sights on being a Hero because I want to be like my brother. However, I think it's still too soon for me to lead others. Unlike me, Midoriya realized the point of the practical portion of the entrance exam, so he is more suitable for the position he's in."
Everyone was in awe by Tenya's speech before Asta giggled kindly with him with a toothy grin.
"This might be the first time I've seen you smile, Iida-kun," Ochaco says.
"Really?" Tenya tilts his head at her. "I smile!"
While Ochaco laughs with Tenya, Izuku smiles at him with glinting eyes.
'Ingenium is to Iida what All Might is to me.'
While he was flattered by what Tenya had to say, Izuku felt like he had to be honest with him.
"Iida, about the entrance exam…"
Izuku was about to continue but got interrupted when a bell suddenly went off through the entire school, causing everyone to jolt from their seats.
"An alarm?!" Izuku wonders.
"There has been a Level Three security breach. All students please evacuate outdoors promptly."
"What?"
Before Asta could question the alarm further, he and everyone else watch the students start running out of the cafeteria, leaving their unfinished lunches behind.
Looking around, Tenya finds a student near him and taps his shoulder.
"Pardon me, but what is a Level Three security breach?"
"It means someone is trespassing on school grounds!" the male student answers. "I've never seen anything like this in the three years I've been here! We better hurry out of here!"
Tenya watches the student run for the exit before looking over to Asta, Izuku, Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Mina, who all nod with him before they follow where everyone else went.
But upon entering a hallway, the group of friends' eyes widen when they witness all of the students from different courses cramped into each other, unable to move another inch because of how packed the area has become.
"Hey, don't push!"
"You stop pushing, you jerk!"
"Dammit! I can barely move!"
Asta looks at what was happening right now before noticing more students rushing from behind him and his friends.
"Everyone, stick close to me!"
Asta's friends were quick to do as he requested. Although they were slowly running out of room, the gang still had space to stand and freely move their arms for a bit while near a window.
"Oh no!" Mina exclaims while scooching close to Asta. "If this keeps up, we'll end up just like the others!"
"What are we gonna do?!" Kirishima asks, worried that he might somehow get one of his arms tangled by the crowd of students.
"As expected of the best of the best," Tenya states as calmly as he can. "Everyone reacts quickly in a crisis!"
Among the group of friends, Izuku was the most unfortunate to be caught in a sea of panicking students.
"Crap baskets! They're so quick that it's causing a panic!"
Before he could say anything else, Izuku was suddenly pulled deeper into the crowd, now barely being seen by the others.
"Izuku!" Asta screams for his friend while he, Tenya, Tsuyu, Ochaco, and Mina are forced against a window.
"Just who in the world trespassed?" Tenya asks Asta.
"Hang on! I'm looking!"
Looking around the windows with Mina pressed up against his back, Asta searches for the trespassers for a moment before his eyes broaden.
"There!" Asta points for his friends to see.
Inspecting closer, everyone's eyes widened when they saw what Asta found.
"That's…"
"The press!" Ochaco finishes for Tenya.
"How did they get in here?!" Mina asks with raised brows.
"However they made it in, it's obvious that they're desperate for the scoop of All Might teaching us, ribbit."
"That might be the case, Asui-kun," Tenya says before turning to the other students. "Everyone calm d-ow!"
"Tenya!" Asta exclaims when he, Tsuyu, Mina, Ochaco, and Kirishima see him get smooshed against the window.
Checking their surroundings, the group see that their space was getting tighter.
"Asta-kun, I'm scared!" Mina squeaks while getting close to Asta, who took another glance at the students who were still rudely pushing and shoving.
"None of them has noticed the news crew outside! They're still panicking!"
"How do we tell them that everything's okay?!" Kirishima asks.
Asta ponders this for a few seconds before turning his head to Tsuyu.
"Tsu-chan! Can you use your tongue to throw me across the crowd so I can grab onto something for higher ground?!"
Tsuyu understood what Asta was planning, but she shook her head.
"With how cramped we are, I don't think so, ribbit! I don't even think we can use it as a slingshot because of how many people are in the way!"
Asta clicks his tongue.
'Damn! How else am I gonna get up there?! Shouting at the top of my lungs won't be enough since I'm still in the crowd!'
"Asta-kun!"
The gray-blonde turns his head towards Ochaco, who was unfortunate to have suffered the same fate as Tenya.
"Zero Gravity!" Asta says with a fist slammed into his palm before turning to his friends and grinning. "I got another idea! Sit tight!"
"Good luck, Asta!" Kirishima shouts as he, Tsuyu, and Mina watch him squirm his way towards Ochaco.
It was a challenge, but thanks to his physique, Asta was able to make it close to Ochaco to where his hand can be in range.
"Ochaco-chan!" The zero gravity user gasped when she heard Asta's voice and looks to see him with his hand out towards her. "Make me float! Hurry!"
Ochaco understood what he intended to do and struggles to get her hand up. It took her a few swipes, but she was able to touch Asta's fingers with hers and activate her Quirk, allowing him to start levitating in the air.
With Ochaco's Zero Gravity affecting him, Asta leaps up into the air and turns his whole body to where his feet are touching the ceiling.
"Now to get in everyone's line of sight!"
Asta begins to run across the ceiling near the exit, bringing attention to all of his friends who were caught in different areas of the crowd.
"Asta!" Izuku shouts, managing to get a look at him running on the ceiling thanks to Ochaco's Quirk.
Tenya was able to get a look up before his eyes widen at the gray-blonde.
"I see! That's how you're going to do it, Asta!"
As he approached the exit, Asta grabs hold of the blue pipe and flips himself right-side up. While having a firm hold of the pipe, he takes a very big breath in through the mouth and roars:
"EVERYBODY CALM DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!"
The ram-packed students came to a halt and went quiet as they heard Asta's booming voice echo all over the hallway with a few of them having to cover their ears. Looking for the source, they all gasp when they see Asta above them with a very serious face.
"It's only the media that somehow got in! We're not under attack by some crazy Villains! You don't believe me?! Look out the window without shoving!"
The students stayed wide-eyed at Asta for a moment before doing as he said. And just like he stated, it was indeed the news crew that appear to be harassing Aizawa and Present Mic.
"Come on, you guys! This is U.A.!" Asta resumed. "We're supposed to act more calm and vigilant than this! If we want to be the best Heroes around like All Might, then we need to act like the best! Go beyond Plus Ultra and chill out!"
Everyone was stunned by Asta's speech while some of them were relieved that it wasn't something dangerous.
"Oh man," Kirishima says with a shiver. "That was so manly! I'm so glad I voted for him."
"You can say that again," Mina agrees while acting giddy with her eyes glued onto Asta.
"It's no wonder he was voted for class representative," Tenya adds with Ochaco nodding.
"This was one of those times where Asta-chan's loudness came in handy," Tsuyu says with a smile.
Izuku was the most amazed. He was glad that Asta could calm the students down, and to be able to do so with how he did it was so genius.
But it was because of what transpired that Izuku started to doubt his position as a deputy representative. While he was unable to do anything to help out, Asta was able to handle it as quickly as he could, and he was the official class representative of 1-A.
Back in class, Asta and Izuku stood at the front with the former more ready to perform his first act as representative than the latter.
"Alrighty, let's decide on the other class officers!"
Before Asta could pick out two of his classmates for the roles as instructed by Aizawa earlier, he felt a finger tap his shoulder and turned his head towards his deputy.
"Uh, Asta, can I say something first?"
The gray-blonde blinks at Izuku a few times before smiling.
"Sure. What's up?"
Izuku's cheeks burn red out of nervousness, but after swallowing a lump, he speaks what he has to say.
"I think… that the person who's placed below me should be your deputy instead of me!"
Everyone except Katsuki and Shoto were surprised by Izuku with Asta being the most shocked.
"Huh?! Why would you think that?! If it's because of how intense the position may be, you know I'll be there to help!"
"I-I know! I know that you trust me just as much as I trust you!" Izuku stutters with his hands up. "It's just… I believe that the deputy should be just as calm and confident as the official class representative, and after I saw how you handled the situation in the hallway in such a cool way, well… I knew that I wasn't mentally ready for the mantle of deputy representative. I couldn't do anything while being trapped in the crowd, but you, Asta, you were able to figure out how to calm them down quickly by trusting others before it got worse."
Asta's eyes soften at his friend.
"Izuku…"
"I know you keep saying that we all make mistakes and can grow to be better, and I agree. But right now, I think it's best that whoever was placed below me in the votes takes my place as deputy." Izuku pauses to smile at Asta and scratches the back of his head. "Besides, with the current state of my Quirk, I think it's best that I spend more time trying to gain more control of it than to act so shy in front of the class all the time."
Asta was a little saddened that Izuku didn't want to be the deputy class representative as he hoped this position would boost his confidence quicker than simple Hero training, but at the same time, he didn't want to force him to keep his position without making him uncomfortable.
Asta kept staring at Izuku for ten more seconds before breathing in his nose and out of his mouth calmly.
"Well… if you insist that you don't want to be my deputy, I guess I can't stop you." Asta's left side of his lip curls up. "After all, I know that sometimes you can't change how people feel. People have their own choices they want to make on their own."
"Thanks… sorry, Asta."
"It's alright," Asta then places a hand on Izuku's shoulder and points at him with his other hand. "However, I'm making you one of my class officers, you got that? Even in your current level, I know that you'll still be helpful not just to me, but to everyone else as well!"
Izuku gasps at Asta before nodding twice and giving him a small smile.
"Uh, yeah! You can count on me for that!"
Asta gives him a toothy grin back.
"you bet, best buddy!"
Izuku chuckles with Asta before he returns to his desk. While he was, the other students had mixed reactions with some exceptions from Tenya and Ochaco, both of whom also understanding Izuku's circumstances.
'The tale of friendship continues~' Ochaco thought to herself while smiling and gleefully rocking her feet back and forth.
"Anyway," Asta puts a hand on his chin in wonder. "Who is that person who had one less vote than Izuku?"
"That would be Yaoyorozu."
Asta looks towards Aizawa and sees him nudging his head to his right while still in his sleeping bag. Turning to where he was pointing, he saw Momo, who did not expect to be given the position under such circumstances.
"So if that's all, hurry up and pick your second class officer," Aizawa's stare on Asta becomes menacing. "You're wasting time."
Asta's eyes whiten as his shoulders shiver while Aizawa falls back asleep.
Nodding twice at his teacher, Asta sets his stare back on his classmates while Momo walks next to him since she's the new deputy representative.
"Okay, moving on as quickly as possible, for my second class officer, I'm selecting Tenya Iida!"
Tenya gains a surprised expression.
"M-M-Me, Asta?!"
"Yeah," Asta confirms with a nod and a smile. "You're a smart guy, and when you make mistakes, you're quick to learn from them and be better with your judgment. You're also very observant as shown during our time watching the battle trials." Asta's smile widens as he gives Tenya a confident look. "And honestly, it's all those reasons that I've voted for you to be class representative, but the results of the voting decided otherwise."
Tenya's eyes nearly bulge through his glasses.
"Y… You're that one vote I got..?"
The other students share surprised expressions of their own as they watch Asta repeatedly nod. There were some of them who were deeply under the impression that he voted for himself because of how much he wanted the position, but as it turns out, it was Asta who chose him.
"So, what do you say, Tenya? Will you accept the position as the class officer alongside Izuku?"
Tenya's eyes glint, looking as if he was about to cry out of flattery of Asta's consideration. Slowly standing from his seat, he pushes his glasses up and gives Asta a salute.
"You can count on me, class rep! I will not let you down!"
Asta giggles with closed eyes and a toothy grin while Izuku, Ochaco, Kirishima, Mina, Sero, Rikido, and Kaminari smile in approval.
But as Momo looked at the happy smile of Asta, another memory flashed in her mind of a boy with that exact same smile he has on, making the girl wonder more about him than before.
Meanwhile, outside of the school, Principal Nezu along with Midnight, Recovery Girl, and Ectoplasm check out the front gate where the news reporters were somehow able to break into the school. Upon inspection, the group saw that the barricade that blocked the entrance had somehow crumbled into pieces.
"How were the ordinary members of the press able to do something like this?" Ectoplasm puzzled allowed.
With his hands behind his back, Nezu pondered about the situation while keeping his stare on the destroyed barricade.
"Someone instigated this. Did someone evil slip in, or was it intended to be a declaration of war?"
The rest of the staff look at Nezu for a moment before turning towards each other, wondering the same thing that the principal was.
Whoever was responsible for breaking that barricade for the news crew to get in had to have some sort of goal in mind. But for now, the Heroes stayed vigilant, making sure to be more watchful for anyone suspicious.
At another place in town, All Might was hopping from building to building after he finished saving a group of hostages from a large pink Villain before defeating him. On his way toward a hit-and-run incident, he noticed something was off while feeling a mild pinch of pain in his body.
'Have I gotten slower? After I gave young Midoriya One For All, my powers have been weakening.' All Might looks at his left hand before clenching it into a fist. 'On top of that, after forcing myself that time during the Sludge Villain incident, the time I can spend in my buff form has gotten shorter than before.'
The number one Hero then remembers the talk he had with Izuku regarding how he almost spilled the beans on One For All's existence to Katsuki. He replayed what he's spoken to him in his mind while stopping the criminal responsible for the hit-and-run by destroying the front of his car without harming the driver.
'Even if he's a suitable vessel, he's still only a fifteen-year-old boy,' he thought before pulling his fist out of the hood. 'I have to pull myself together.'
"Someone's barricaded themselves in the neighboring town!"
All Might's brows nearly twitch before he turns around from the vehicle and leaps towards where a citizen was pointing.
'I hope I can still make it on time after this.'
Back in U.A., Aizawa stands in front of his class to move on to the next subject.
"For today's Hero basic training, it's turned into a class with three instructors, All Might and me, and one more person."
The class' brows raise, wondering what Aizawa meant by turned into.
"Excuse me!" Sero says with his hand raised. "What exactly will we be doing?"
Aizawa shifts his eyes towards Sero before producing a flashcard with the word Rescue written in blue for all to see.
"Disasters, shipwrecks, and everything in between. It's rescue training."
This news brought some excitement to some of the students.
"Looks like it'll be a lot of work this time, too," Kaminari says to Mina who nods in agreement.
"Don't be so foolish," Kirishima scolds with a grin. "This is the duty of a Hero!" The redhead then turns to Asta, who grins back at him. "Just thinking about this type of training, my arms are ready to rumble!"
"You and me both, Kirishima!"
The two bump fists from a good length before Tsuyu chimes in.
"No one can beat me in water, ribbit."
"I wasn't done speaking." The students were immediately silent because of Aizawa's stern voice combined with his bloodshot stare. "You can decide if you want to wear your costume or not this time because there are probably outfits that limit your abilities, too. The training will take place off-campus, so we're taking a bus." Aizawa clicks the button on a remote for the students' costume containers to emerge from the wall. "That is all. Start getting ready."
While everyone was standing up to collect their outfits, Asta and Izuku remained seated as they thought about the rescue training. For Izuku, he immediately thought of All Might and how he was able to rescue a handful of people with his strength, and that served as motivation for the green-haired user of One For All before he turned his head to Asta, who was looking at him before giving him a thumbs up, making him giggle and give him one back.
As soon as he left the classroom, Izuku went to the changing room to put on his P.E. uniform along with black wristbands and matching colored neckwear, knee pads, and white gloves. After putting them all on, Izuku walks out of the room and heads outside where the rest of his classmates on with determination on his face.
"Izuku!"
the green-haired boy stops for a moment when he hears a familiar shouting voice behind him and turns to see Asta running towards him while waving his hand enthusiastically.
"Asta!" After waving back, he then notices his friend's attire and blinks with a tilted head. "You're wearing your gym clothes too?"
"Yeah," Asta confirms while walking alongside Izuku towards their destination. "I asked the designers to fix some kinks the armor had, like my arms and legs not having as much freedom of movement as I thought."
"I see," Izuku says while chuckling. "And I'm sure you know why I'm wearing mine along with other gear."
Asta nods.
"Tends to happen when one's costume is blown up beyond repair."
"Yeah." After nodding twice, Izuku sees something metallic attached to Asta's left wrist by a band. "Hey, what's that?"
Asta followed where his friend was pointing and his eyes broadened with realization.
"Oh yeah! While I was sending my costume to the designers, they gave me a grappling hook to test out while they update it with them!"
With stars in his eyes, Asta presents the grappling hook to Izuku. The device was shaped like a curvy rectangular oval with two gears next to each other on top. On the front, a small pyramid-shaped spike meant to be the hook can be seen.
"What do you think?! Pretty cool, huh?!"
Izuku's eyes shift up and down at the device while admiring the design.
"That's amazing! I can't wait to see it in action during our rescue training!"
Asta smiles with Izuku as the two approach the doors.
"I can't wait too!" After the two walk outside, Asta waves towards his classmates. "Hey, guys!"
Everyone turns towards the two boys as they notice them. The ones who smiled and approached them were Ochaco, Mina, Kirishima, and Tsuyu.
"Hi, Deku-kun!"
"Asta-kun!"
"Asta, my man!"
Tsuyu just waved with a ribbit while Ochaco noticed the two boy's outfits.
"Wait, why are you two not wearing your costumes?"
Izuku chuckles while pointing his two index fingers together.
"I'm waiting for the support company to fix it because of the damage it suffered during combat training."
"I'm getting mine upgraded," Asta explains. "I really did want to wear it, but the minor problems of the movement really needed to be addressed."
"Man, that sucks," Kirishima said with a frown.
"Oh, I don't mind it," Mina murmurs while looming over Asta's body since his muscles made his gym uniform skin tight. She then leans her head over to get a look at his backside while blushing and grinning with some drool escaping her lips. "Not one bit at all~"
SMACK!
"OUCH!"
Mina was forced to jump back when he felt her cheek gain a small sting. Holding said cheek, she looks and sees Tsuyu looking at her with her long tongue stuck out and aimed at the pink-skinned girl.
"Don't be creepy, Mina-chan."
Mina pouts at Tsuyu.
"Oh, come on! I'm not the only one who finds it sexy!"
Kyoka gave Mina a weirded-out stare. But when she got a look at Asta's body herself, her body stiffened because of how much muscle his uniform revealed.
'Seriously… maybe the gym suit he has is too small for him?'
"Class Representative."
The group of friends blink when they hear a new voice and look to see Momo approaching Asta.
"Oh, hey there," Asta greets with a smile and a wave. "I've been meaning to tell you this earlier, but I look forward to working with you, Yaoyo-san."
Momo didn't respond. She was still observing the boy, trying to figure out where she'd seen someone like Asta before.
"Uh… Yaoyo-san?"
Momo was snapped out of her thoughts when Asta called out to her, causing her to stumble over her words with a light blush before clearing her throat.
"M-My apologies, Class Representative. My mind was on something else."
Asta chuckles kindly.
"It's alright," he says before scratching his cheek. "And I know I'm the class rep, but it's still okay for you and everyone else to call me Asta."
Momo raised a brow while Asta's friends weren't that surprised.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. It feels weird to me, so my first name is just fine, Yaoyo-san."
Momo's blinks as she now just learned what Asta was calling her.
"Y… Yaoyo-san?"
Asta nods without his smile leaving.
"I hope you don't mind if I address you like that. Your last name is pretty long, so I've shortened it to Yaoyo-san."
Momo's eyes broaden a bit before softening because of how kind he was when he explained it.
"Oh, well… That's okay. You can call me that… Asta-kun."
While Asta nods with Momo, Mineta notices their interactions in the background and stares on in envy.
'That Asta… Just how do you do it?! I must know!'
Kaminari notices Mineta gritting his teeth and raises a brow at him.
"You okay, dude?"
Mineta didn't respond. He continued to glare at Asta in jealousy while Kaminari just shrugged at the small boy.
"Class Representative!"
Asta and Momo turn their heads left when they hear a speeding Tenya run over to them before bowing his head to Asta.
"Hey, Tenya! You're looking energetic!"
Tenya straightens himself with his helmet held tight around his arm.
"The bus has arrived, Class Representative! How shall we board the vehicle, sir?!"
Everyone sweat drops at Tenya.
'He's really going full throttle with the Officer position, isn't he?' Momo wonders with a tilted head.
Asta however, just smiles at his friend.
"You can still call me Asta. As for how we'll enter, let's just get on one at a time." Asta pauses to put a hand on his chin. "As for the seating arrangements, I think we should let them sit wherever they like so they can know each other even more. Plus, it's likely that some of us will sit with who we were partnered with for the Battle Trials because of how well some of them worked together."
Tenya and Momo were surprised by how quick Asta was to make his decision before the former adjusts his glasses.
"Yes… That makes sense, especially if we want everyone to gain more trust in each other." Tenya bows to Asta again. "Okay! We shall proceed normally, Class Representative!"
"You can still call me Asta."
Tenya does a double take.
"B-But…"
"Really, it's fine. Don't worry about it."
While Tenya remained stunned by how Asta not wanting to be addressed formally, Momo and the others just laughed at the sight with Katsuki just staring at the scene with squinted eyes mostly on Asta.
Shoto and Tokoyami stared at Asta too, but for their own personal reasons.
As they entered the bus and took their seats, Asta found himself in between Kirishima and Mina with the latter of whom having rushed right next to him the moment he sat down. Izuku sat on the opposite side of Asta with Rikido next to his right and Tsuyu to his left with Tenya sitting next to her while everyone else sat where they wanted to.
"So, Asta," Izuku breaks the silence during the ride. "About that grappling hook, were you able to test it out before you and I got out of the school?"
Everyone took notice of the device on Asta's wrist with curiosity while the gray-blonde looked at it.
"I didn't have any time since they were busy, but they did give me some instructions before I left."
Asta looks up at his own headband before pulling the top front slightly and plucking a piece of paper out of there. Unfolding it, he takes a look at what it says with Mina and Kirishima leaning towards the paper.
"Let's see… It says here that I can shoot it with a flick of my wrist after pressing the power button. And there's a second button that can switch its hook from piercing mode to claw mode." The second mode on the instructions got Asta confused. "Claw mode?"
Asta sets the instructions down on his lap before looking over his grappling hook to find the two buttons. One has the power logo on it, and the other has a symbol that shows a spike shape appearing to have dotted lines representing it unfolding. Guiding his finger to that button, Asta presses it, resulting in the hook opening up into a three-clawed shape, resulting in bemused expressions from everyone who watched the device.
"Whoa!" Asta exclaims before pushing the button again, making the claw revert back to a spike. "That's crazy!"
"Yeah!" Izuku agrees. "That's what was going to be on your costume's wrists?!"
"Well… I never thought about it having two grappling modes, but hey, it's a welcome feature!" Asta's eyes sparkle in stars as he keeps making the hook swap shapes. "So cool! Now I'm even more hyped to use this thing!"
"Awesome~" Mina squeaks while leaning her head close to the device. "What's the maximum range on that thing?"
"According to the instructions, it's about twelve meters. But still, the way I'll be swinging around and reaching high places with this thing in a snap, I can still imagine it!"
"Please don't go too overboard with your support item," Tenya cautions. "Knowing how to operate a tool's mechanics and to actually use it are two different things, after all."
Asta looks up at Tenya before chuckling sheepishly.
"Yeah, I know. But don't worry, Tenya, I'll be careful."
Tsuyu croaks.
"I hope so, Asta-chan. Your tenacity does tend to make you do reckless things."
Asta raises a brow at Tsuyu while Mina pouts.
"Oh, come on, there's no need to be a buzzkill."
Tsuyu shrugs.
"I just say whatever comes to mind," She tells Mina before turning her head to Izuku. "By the way, Midoriya-chan?"
Izuku tensed up with pink cheeks.
"Y-Y-Yes, Asui-san?!"
"Call me Tsu."
Izuku blinks before looking away in slight embarrassment.
"R-Right, Sorry."
Tsuyu nods before resuming.
"I've been meaning to tell you this, but your Quirk is kinda like All Might's."
The moment Tsuyu said that caused Izuku and Asta to freeze up with the former being in a worse state.
"Wh-Wh-Wh-What?! Y-You think so?!"
Asta could tell that Izuku was having a hard time coming up with an excuse, so he was quick to chime in.
"W-Well, Tsu-chan, there are Quirks out there that can be similar to each other, but not the same!"
Tsuyu tilted her head at Asta, unsure about what he just told her.
"He's got a point, Tsu," Kirishima says, making the three look towards him. "I mean, All Might doesn't get hurt when he uses his power. They just operate similarly."
Asta and Izuku tried not to show it, but they were extremely thankful to Kirishima for how he explained it.
"Although, it's nice to have a simple augmenting-type Quirk," the redhead continues while hardening his arm. "You can do lots of flashy stuff with those. My Hardening is strong against others, but I don't know if it looks like much."
"Hey! I told you before when we first met that your Quirk is awesome!" Asta assures him. "You won't know what else you're capable of unless you keep trying!"
Kirishima was stunned by Asta's words while Izuku nods enthusiastically.
"He's right. It's a Quirk that can definitely pass as a Pro's!"
The redhead is shocked again because of both of the boys' compliments and looks at his arm again.
"A Pro's, huh? But you have to think about popularity as a Hero, too, you know."
Asta thought about what Kirishima said for a while, but before he could respond, Yuga interjected.
"My Navel Laser is Pro-level in both flashiness and strength."
Mina giggles while flashing Yuga a kind smile.
"But it's not great that it gives you a stomachache."
Yuga's face drops with an embarrassed blush while Kirishima just had another thought pop up in his mind regarding what the blonde boy spoke of.
"Well, if you're talking about flashy and strong, It's gotta be Todoroki and Bakugo, huh?"
Katsuki's eyes shifted towards Kirishima with an annoyed gaze with Shoto not noticing at all since he was napping all throughout the bus ride.
"Bakugo's always angry," Tsuyu states. "So he doesn't seem like he'll be popular, though."
Asta and Izuku almost do a spit take, finding this very uncommon for someone to criticize him instead of constantly praising him for having such a strong Quirk.
But Tsuyu's opinion got Katsuki the reaction she expected and stood up with a hard glare at the girl.
"What did you say?! I'll kick your ass!"
"See what I mean?" Tsuyu asks, not at all fazed by Katsuki's aggression.
"We haven't known each other that long," Kaminari says to Katsuki. "So it's amazing that everyone already knows his personality is crap steeped in sewage."
Katsuki snaps his head towards the snickering Kaminari while Kyoka, who sat next to the ash-blonde boy, got nervous because of his growing rage.
"What's with that vocabulary, Pikachu wannabe?! I'll kill you!"
Izuku's shocked eyes shift between Kaminari and Katsuki a few times before they aim for the floor.
'Kacchan's being teased… I can't believe what's happening!'
While Izuku kept thinking about this, Asta steps in front of Kaminari to stare Katsuki down.
"Hey! You really need to lighten up and get along with the class!"
Katsuki grits his teeth at Asta.
"I don't need to take orders from an imp like you! I don't give a damn if you're the class rep!"
Asta doubled down and marched closer to Katsuki.
"Say that kind of crap all you want, but you can't keep acting like a defective firecracker forever!"
Katsuki's eyes whiten as he gets his face closer to Asta's with white eyes.
"What was that, you damn dwarf?!"
Asta's eyes whiten as well.
"I'm saying that you need to stop acting like a big jerk and get friendly with others, Bakago!"
"YOU BETTER WATCH WHAT YOU SAY, BAKASTA, UNLESS YOU WANNA BE BLOWN TO BITS!"
"BEGGIN' YOUR PARDON, O' LORD OF EXPLOSIONS! I AM SO SORRY!"
Everyone continued to watch the two blondes' argument keep going, noting how equally loud and explosive both of them were being right now.
"These two are two sides of one loud coin," Momo says with a hand over her mouth while Ochaco giggles with her.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. One's all mean and violent, and the other is sweet, encouraging, and happy-go-lucky~"
"Uh… Yeah…" Momo trails off as she sets her sights back on Asta, who was still arguing with Katsuki.
Ever since she first got acquainted with Asta at U.A., Momo's strange feeling of familiarity kept hitting her as she looked at him. From his messy hair without his headband to that cheerful toothy smile, she kept thinking back to that day in her childhood when a boy helped her with those very same features. And she still wasn't sure if Asta was that same boy.
"Enough messing around. We've arrived."
Everyone stopped what they were doing when they heard Aizawa make that announcement.
Asta immediately zipped to an available window to see what the place looked like, catching the sight of a dome-shaped building. Despite this being all he's seeing, the gray-blonde was still excited nonetheless.
"Oh, man! I can only imagine what the inside looks like~!"
Mina gushes at Asta's hyped-up attitude while Izuku, Tenya, and the others just smile with him with Katsuki scowling at him.
Seconds later, the bus parked near a large blue gate that serves as the building's entrance. Awaiting the students in front of said gate as they got off the bus was a person wearing a white space suit with a black helmet with white eyes decorating the visor.
"Welcome, everyone. I have been waiting for you."
The students, mostly Asta, Izuku, and Ochaco, gain amazed expressions as they recognize the person who spoke with a female voice.
"It's the Space Hero, Thirteen!" Izuku states. "The gentle Hero who has rescued tons of people from disasters!"
"I've heard of Thirteen, too!" Asta shouts with stars in his eyes. "Her Quirk is out of this world!"
"Oh! I love Thirteen!" Ochaco says pumped up. "She's my absolute favorite!"
Thirteen giggled at how enthusiastic 1-A was before pointing a thumb behind herself.
"Let's go inside without delay."
The entire class except for Katsuki, Shoto, and Fumikage bow their heads to Thirteen.
[We look forward to working with you!]
As Thirteen guided the class inside, everyone took their time to observe their surroundings with astonished faces.
"So cool!" Asta exclaims with steam fuming from his nose. "This place reminds me of an amusement park!"
"Yeah, it does," Rikido says in agreement.
"You took the words right out of my mouth, Asta!" Izuku adds as he looked at the sights with him.
Thirteen smiled from behind her helmet as she showed the students the many zones of this facility.
"A shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, you name it. It is a training ground that I made with different types of accidents and disasters. It's called the Unforeseen Simulation Joint." Thirteen pauses to turn around towards her students with a flashy pose. "Or USJ for short!"
The entirety of class 1-A gain beady eyes from the reveal of the facility's name, except for Asta who still has stars in his eyes.
[Just like Universal Studios Japan.]
Aizawa approaches Thirteen with his hands in his pockets after her introductions were finished.
"Thirteen, where's All Might?" He asks her with a hushed voice so the students won't hear him. "He was supposed to meet us here."
Thirteen walks closer to Aizawa and leans in his ear.
"Yeah… About that… It looks like he did too much Hero work on his way here and ran out of time, so he had no choice but to rest in the lounge."
Aizawa took a moment to process this. After a few seconds, he released an annoyed sigh.
"That's the height of irrationality," he tells Thirteen while shifting his eyes to the side. 'Well, at least we took precautions just in case…' He then looks back at the Space Hero. "It can't be helped. Let's begin."
Thirteen nods before facing the students.
"Let's see… Before we begin, let me say one thing. Or… two or three things… or maybe four five or six, or…"
'It keeps increasing…' everyone thought with an awkward expression.
After getting out of that mild trance, Thirteen's stance got serious.
"Everyone, I'm sure you are aware of my Quirk known as Black Hole. I can suck up anything and turn it to dust."
Asta and Ochaco nod vigorously while Izuku interjected with the same expression as the former two's.
"You've been able to use it to save people from all kinds of disasters, right?"
"Yes, but it's a power that can also kill easily."
Everyone tensed up a little after that revelation while students like Katsuki, Shoto, Fumikage, and Shoji's expressions were neutral.
"Some of you also have Quirks like that, yes?" Thirteen continued. "In a superhuman society, personal Quirks have been certified and stringently regulated, so that doesn't seem to be a problem at first glance. However, please don't forget that there are many Quirks that can easily kill people with one wrong step. With Aizawa-san's physical fitness test, you found out about the possibility of your own hidden powers, and with All Might's person-to-person combat training, I believe you experienced the danger of using those powers against others. This class is a fresh start. You shall learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives. You do not have powers so you can harm others. I hope you leave here with the understanding that you have powers in order to help others."
Izuku and Asta look at Thirteen in inspiration, finding her speech to be very informal and motivating, as did most of the other students.
"That is all," Thirteen concludes with a bow. "Thank you for listening."
The class erupts in cheers and praises, now more pumped up than ever to start their training.
"Alright! This is gonna be great!" Asta says while pushing the power button on his grappling hook. "I can't wait to see what I can do!"
"Me too," Izuku agrees with a nod.
"All right then," Aizawa interjects, silencing the students. "First thing is-"
BZZZ!
Aizawa was interrupted when he and everyone else heard a buzz of lightning. Shortly after, the lights of the USJ started going out, followed by some of the USJ equipment like the water fountain not functioning properly.
'What the..?' Asta thought as he and the others observed what was going on.
Some thought that this might be part of the training, but some like Asta, Aizawa, Katsuki, and Shoto thought that something just wasn't right.
Asta kept shifting his eyes all over USJ until he spotted something unusual.
"Sensei!"
Aizawa turned towards Asta, noticing how alert he was before seeing that he was pointing somewhere. Checking that area, his eyes widen when he witnesses a purple-black aura shaped like a portal appear in front of the fountain.
Everyone else notices it too, but before any of them can question where it came from, the aura violently shifts and expands horizontally. The shaking of the mysterious aura continued to twitch until it grew vertically tall with two glowing yellow lights appearing at the top, seeming to be shaped like eyes.
And just as those features were made known, the group gets more cautious when they see a person's hand slowly stretch out from the purple-black aura before it gripped onto the substance like a hard surface.
As he kept observing the phenomenon, Asta's eyes widen when he saw someone's head stick out, glaring right at class 1-A with blood shots in his red eyes, frightening a few of the students.
'Huh?! Who is that?!' Asta wondered, taking notice of the gray-blue hair and the disembodied hand the person was using as a mask.
"Gather together and don't move!" Aizawa demands his students before turning to Thirteen. "Thirteen, make sure the students are protected!"
Asta kept his stare on the person inside the purple-black portal for a few more seconds before Kirishima approached him.
"Any idea who that is, Asta?"
Asta kept silent. He was too focused on the potential enemy in the hand mask as his body kept leaning forward. But eventually, his eyes broaden further when he watches the person walk out of the expanding purple aura like it was a portal. And much to his and everyone else's shock, he had more disembodied hands on his body, and whether they were real or not was something some students prefer to have unanswered.
And as the intruder took four more steps forwards, Asta and the others look to see more people coming out with him. Most of these intruders appear to be mutants with dangerous features. Some had scary masks, and some were armed with weapons like machetes and clubs.
"I don't get it," Kirishima says as he eyes the strangers one by one. "Is this like the entrance exam where the lesson's already started?"
"No…" Everyone turned their heads towards Asta when they heard him whisper, with Izuku, Ochaco, and Kirishima gasping when they saw how stern his eyes were. "This isn't right…"
Ochaco was going to ask what Asta meant before Aizawa stepped in front of his class.
"Everyone stay put!" He cautions before slipping his goggles on, seeing that more people are coming, and are appearing to be associated with the others that came from the purple-black mass. "Those are Villains!"
While most of the students were shocked by this revelation, Asta, Katsuki, and Shoto were the only ones who kept a serious face as they eyed the Villains.
While the boy in gray-blue hair slowly looked up at 1-A, there was one more mutant that exited the purple-black mass and stood next to him. It was a large hulking creature with a beak-like mouth, red scars, and it has its brain exposed.
"Thirteen and Eraser Head, huh?"
Asta's ears perk up when he hears a dark male voice echo from the void, later on remembering that it had glowing yellow lights for eyes.
'What the..? Does that mean this portal-like thing is a living being?'
"The teacher's schedule we received the other day said that All Might was supposed to be here," The purple-black aura speaks while it forms a head for where the yellow eyes are.
Aizawa frowns at the creature made of purple-black aura.
"The trespassing the other day was the work of these scumbags after all, huh?"
As the other Villains marched forwards, the one with a hand mask just stares blankly.
"Where is All Might?" he mutters menacingly. "I went through the trouble of bringing this whole crowd too…" the boy's hands twitch as they slowly rise towards his own neck. "All Might… The Symbol of Peace… I can't believe he didn't show. Hmm… Perhaps killing off a few of those brats will make him come here?"
Asta was able to hear what the boy said and snarls at him.
"Don't even think of trying, pal!"
"Oh?" the boy's eyes lazily shift towards Asta, whose left hand appeared more ready than his right.
"If you lay even a single finger on my classmates, I'll crush you! Ya hear me, handyman?!"
"That's enough, Kurosaki!"
Asta turns towards Aizawa.
"But Sensei!"
"I understand your concerns for your classmates as the class rep, but don't even think about charging in like a berserker! You need to remain calm and analyze the situation carefully! For now, leave them all to me."
Aizawa's hair and scarf rise up as he prepares himself to face the Villains.
Seeing this made Asta's eyes widen at his teacher. Seeing how calm Aizawa was despite the numerous amounts of Villains with him and Thirteen being the only Pros to be ready to take them on got him in awe. And it definitely strengthened his resolve to make sure nothing goes wrong. Even if he isn't a Pro Hero yet, it won't stop him from preparing to fight when the occasion calls for it.
"No way…" Asta turns around when he hears Kirishima say that with a nervous expression. "How could Villains get into a Hero school!"
"He's right!" Momo chimes in. "What about the trespasser sensors?"
"We have them, of course," Thirteen answers calmly. "But…"
"Did they only appear here, or around the whole school?" Shoto wonders aloud for all to hear. "Either way, if the sensors are not responding, that means they have someone with a Quirk that can do that. An isolated area separated from the main campus during a time when a class is supposed to be here. They might be fools, but they're not that dumb. From what I can see, this surprise attack was carefully planned with some sort of goal in mind."
Most of the students like Mina and Mineta got more scared by Shoto's analysis while Katsuki didn't appear afraid at all. Asta, however, just kept scanning his eyes on the Villains, guessing out weaknesses he could exploit with his current skill in combat.
And when Aizawa got a quick glimpse at the gray-blonde, he noticed that he was calmer than when the Villains first showed up. But even then, he wanted to make sure his students didn't have to fight.
"Thirteen, start the evacuation," Aizawa tells her. "Try calling the school. These villains even had something to counteract the sensors. It's possible someone with radio-wave-type powers is interfering." Pausing, Aizawa looks at Kaminari. "Kaminari, try contacting the school with your Quirk, too."
"R-R-Right!"
Izuku got tense.
"What about you, sir? Will you fight by yourself? With that many, even if you can erase their Quirks… Isn't your fighting style capturing after erasing the enemy's Quirk?"
Izuku then feels a hand on his shoulder and turns his head to see that it was Asta.
"I wouldn't worry about our sensei, Izuku," he tells him before his lips slowly form into a smirk. "Knowing him, he'll go beyond Plus Ultra and surpass his limits. We should put our faith in him!"
Aizawa's eyes slightly broaden from behind his goggles without anyone noticing while Izuku remained surprised by his friend. Keeping his stoic expression, Aizawa turns his head towards the two boys.
"You can't be a Hero with just one trick," he says to them before walking forwards. "I'm leaving it to you, Thirteen."
Thirteen nods before she and everyone else watch Aizawa jump towards the Villains with his scarf active, going for the Villain with red hair, a silver helmet, and fingertips with gun-like barrels first.
"Shooting squad, let's go!" The finger gun Villain calls for the woman with Medusa-like hair and the large gas mask-wearing brawn
"Didn't our intel say it would just be Thirteen and All Might?" The Medusa Villain questioned while grinning at Aizawa. "who's this poser?"
"Don't know!" the brawn replied. "But if he thinks he can come at us from the front by himself, then he's a fool!"
The three Villains prepare to brutalize Aizawa as he gets closer to them. And as the finger gun Villain was about to make the first attack, Aizawa activates his Erasure on him, preventing the Villain from using his Quirk.
"What the..? Why won't my bullets come out?!"
"Eh?!" The Medusa Villain's hair suddenly drops, blinding her vision because of the direction it fell.
Before the brawn Villain could ask if they were okay, all three of them were trapped by Aizawa's scarf before he lifted them up in the air with it and violently slammed their heads together, knocking them out as they fell to the ground right after the collision.
"You idiot, that's Eraser Head!" one Villain snaps as some of them immediately got intimidated by how he defeated the three. "He can erase Quirks just by looking at us!"
"Is that so?" One Villain with four arms says as the goes for Aizawa. "Then how about Quirks of heteromorphic-type Villains like us?!"
"Sadly, I can't," Aizawa replies while dodging said Villain before countering with a punch to his face, sending the Villain in the air away from him before sending his scarf after him to grab his leg. "But the skills of guys like you…" Aizawa evades and kicks another Villain who hoped to take advantage of his focus, knocking down two more in the process. "are statistically more likely to manifest in close combat."
Aizawa used his scarf he captured the four-armed Villain with to slam him into the ground without needing to pay attention to him.
"… So I've taken measures against that."
The boy with the hand mask notices Aizawa's movements and observes closely.
"He's pretty strong in hand-to-hand combat, and since he's hiding his eyes with goggles, you can't tell whose Quirk he's erasing. When he fights against a group, that makes it harder for them to work together."
While the Villain kept observing Aizawa, Asta was doing the same, but out of admiration for his teacher.
Seeing how Aizawa fights is what makes Heroes like him Asta's most favorites. While their Quirks may be impressive in ranged circumstances, they could still be easily defeated if they don't work on their physical strength. And from what Asta watched, Aizawa has done just that to have the fighting skills he's seeing now. Aizawa also performed strength training to be as physically strong as he is now.
Observing how he maneuvered and delivered his punches and kicks, Asta became less frightened and more calm. But there was a stronger emotion than calmness. Asta was excited. The fighting style Aizawa displayed was almost similar to how Asta tried to experiment with his when he tried mixing his mixed martial art style with parkour.
Izuku, Tenya, Ochaco, Kirishima, Mina, and Momo notice the wide grin Asta had as he kept watching Aizawa fight, and while Ochaco, Kirishima, and Mina thought it was simply out of admiring him, Izuku, Tenya, and Momo were able to tell that he wanted to fight as well.
Back with the Villains, the boy with hands decorating his body started scratching his neck as he kept watching the fight.
"I hate Pro Heroes. The masses don't stand a chance against them."
The purple-black aura's eyes squint as he notices Aizawa's hair rise and fall repeatedly, almost as if there was a pattern.
Meanwhile, the students of 1-A start evacuating with Thirteen while Asta and Izuku stay behind watching Aizawa continue to battle.
"Man… Aizawa-sensei's actually good at fighting by himself against a lot of people, huh?"
"Yeah…" Asta agrees with a snicker. "He's definitely pushing past his limits."
"Class rep Asta! Midoriya!" the boys turn their heads when they hear Tenya call out to them. "This is no time for analysis! We need to take shelter, now!"
Asta and Izuku look at each other for a brief moment before nodding and running toward the rest of the class.
Thirteen continued to guide them towards the door out of the facility, but as they got closer, the purple-black portal Asta found familiar appeared on the ground in front of them and rose upwards, forcing them to stop.
"There is no escape," the creature says as it eyed Thirteen and class 1-A.
'Shit!' Aizawa curses as he noticed the purple-black aura cornering them. 'I just blinked once and the guy who looks like the most trouble got away!"
Aizawa attempts to rush for Thirteen to aid her and the students only to be blocked off by more Villains, forcing him to continue his fight with them.
"It is a pleasure to meet you," the purple-black aura greets with his menacing yellow eyes glued on Thirteen and the students. "We are the League of Villains. It may be presumptuous of us, but we've invited ourselves into the home of the Heroes, U.A. High School, in order to have All Might, the Symbol of Peace, take his last breath."
Thirteen and class 1-A were shocked by this revelation while Izuku and Asta were the most wary.
"I believe All Might should have been here," the creature resumed. "Perhaps there's been some kind of change?" The aura was silent for a moment before it kept talking while some of its mass formed wing-shaped appendages. "Well, that is neither here nor there. This is the part I am to play."
Having heard enough, Thirteen opens the cap on her right hand's pointer finger and aims it at the creature. But before she could activate her Quirk, she gasps when she sees Katsuki and Kirishima charge or the Villain.
"Wait, you guys!"
Asta's cry fell on deaf ears as Katsuki made the first move, using his Explosion Quirk to blast the aura away like a fog. With the dust from the clouds of the explosion growing thick, the duo observed the smoke and smiled confidently.
"Did you consider that you'd get beaten by us before you did it?" Kirishima asks the Villain with his arms hardened.
Asta continued maneuvering his eyes around the clouds with Izuku doing the same. While they were, the two were able to detect something moving from within, and Asta could immediately tell that it was the purple-black aura creature.
"Oh dear, that's dangerous." Katsuki and Kirishima tensed up when they heard the creature's voice, unfazed by the former's attack.
The aura continued to shape shift until Asta noticed a metal brace where the collarbone of a person should be.
"That's right," the creature continued as part of the aura made a head shape above the brace before the rest of the mass blocked it from the view of the others. "Even if you are students, you are excellent golden eggs."
Thirteen didn't like where this was going and was quick to shout for Katsuki and Kirishima.
"Both of you, move away right now!"
"My job is to scatter you all and torture you to death!"
The students gasp in fear as the Villain spreads its aura towards them and maneuvers around them like a tornado storm. Not a single one dared to move. And even if they wanted to, the current of the aura was too strong.
However, Tenya was quick enough to grab Ochaco and Rikido and use his Engine Quirk to force themselves out of the aura while Shoji was fast to keep his distance. Unfortunately, he was unable to go back and rescue the rest as the purple-black aura thickened to where he, Ochaco, and Rikido were unable to get a view of the rest of their classmates. But as that was happening, he was able to see Asta appear to be falling through the floor, scaring Tenya deeply.
"Class Rep Asta!"
Tenya shouts for Asta as the strong aura has now obstructed the view of everything. And while he doesn't know the extent of the power of this creature, he can only hope that his classmates will be okay from this without any fatal injuries.
From a different location, a purple-black aura opened up high above an area full of rocky mountains. Seconds later, Asta pops out from the portal, screaming for his life as he falls before his body slams onto the ground with a loud crash.
Asta's groan is muffled as his face is buried into the ground. He remained lying like this for five seconds before quickly shooting up into a fighting position.
"I'm not done..! Yet..?"
It didn't take too long for Asta to realize that he was in a different place than where he and the rest of the students were. Checking his surroundings, he found himself in a zone full of mountains thick enough to serve as hiding spots and also being climbable.
"Asta-kun!"
Before he could think, a familiar voice shouted his name, prompting him to zip around. Who he saw resulted in him gaining a glad expression.
"Yaoyo-san! You're okay!"
Momo jogged towards Asta, relieved that he was unharmed.
"I thought we were the only ones who got warped here by that thing."
"We?"
Momo nods before motioning to Asta with her hand.
"This way, and make sure to keep quiet. Who knows if there will be any Villains coming this way?"
Asta nods and follows Momo. As they got to where she wanted to go, Asta saw that there were two more of his classmates behind the mountain Momo took him to.
"Hey, it's you guys!" Asta says to the two, Kyoka and Kaminari. He was about to say their names before slowly blinking twice and chuckling and scratching the back of his head. "Yeah… I forgot your names because of how much strength training I focus on. Sorry."
Kyoka raised a brow at him while Kaminari almost shouted in bewilderment.
"Uh… Kyoka Jiro," she introduces herself while pointing one of her ear jacks at herself.
"A-And I'm Denki Kaminari," the yellow-haired boy states next with a shaky hand.
After nodding while keeping those names locked in the vault, Asta turns his head back to Momo.
"Any sign of the others?"
"Afraid not," Momo replies before crossing her arms. "But if that thing's Quirk operates how I think it does, then it's most likely that the rest of our classmates were teleported to different locations of the facility."
Asta nods before looking towards the open field where the rest of the zones would be if they were to go in that direction.
"It's obvious their goal is to kill All Might. But why would that thing scatter us all over the place?"
"I'm not sure," Momo replies with a hand on her chin. "But what I'm most curious about is how the enemy knew of our schedules."
Kyoka's eyes widened as she remembered something.
"Hang on, you guys don't suppose that the media intrusion was set up by those Villains for getting intel, do you?"
Momo's eyes slit.
"That wouldn't be surprising since they somehow found a way in our school during lunchtime."
Asta's eyes widen while his brows were narrow.
"From what you two are saying, these guys really were planning this out, waiting to pounce, just as Todoroki said."
"N-N-Now wait just a minute!" The trio turned when Kaminari finally spoke up. "It's not like they can kill All Might! Once he shows up, he'll show those Villains what for!"
While Momo and Kyoka understood where Kaminari came from, Asta thought otherwise because of the knowledge about the Number One Hero he has that his classmates lack.
"Kaminari," Asta looks Kaminari in the eyes. "Don't you think they're trying this hard because they found a way to kill All Might?"
Asta's classmates gasp. And from seeing his face, they can tell that he wasn't kidding around.
"Think about it," Asta continued. "I heard that handyman Villain state clearly that he and his lackeys intend to torture us!" Asta then brings his hands up in front of himself and morphs them into fists. "Some of those Villains are looking for us as we speak! All we can do for now is to hold out until All Might arrives! But even if he does come, it won't stop them from trying to take us out! That's why we need to stay strong and keep each other protected, no matter what the odds are!"
Momo and Kyoka were left stunned by how resolved Asta was. Kaminari, on the other hand, was freaking out because of that determination.
"W-W-Wait! You just explained how insane the situation is and you still want to fight?! What if those Villains are stronger than us?! If they really did find a way to kill All Might, then how the hell can we stand a chance against them?! We just got started training and we already gotta deal with this?! No way! I'm not ready yet! There's no way we can beat them if what you say is true!"
Asta wordlessly approaches the hyperventilating Kaminari. Because of their height difference, Asta gets on his toes to place his hands on his shoulders and leans his face towards his.
"Uh… what are you..?'
"NO GIVING UP, YA HEAR ME?!"
Kaminari's body shook as he could hear his ears ring while Momo and Kyoka had to cover theirs with the latter of the two girls being most affected by the shout.
"Dude! There could be Villains nearby!" Kyoka hisses with her earjacks up.
Asta's expression didn't change. He steps back from Kaminari and sets his gaze on all three of his classmates.
"We won't know what we can do unless we try! It's like Aizawa-sensei said, we need to remain calm and analyze this situation carefully."
Asta's classmates were taken aback by how calm he was. Despite all that's happening, he's still keeping a level head and trying to assess their bind.
"First things first, let's discuss you guy's powers," Asta resumes. "Jiro-san, from what I've seen in the battle trials, you can use those jacks of yours to listen into things through walls. Is there anything else you can do with them?"
Kyoka blinks at Asta twice before she speaks.
"Well… Other than fighting with them by poking, I can channel the sound of my heartbeat through the objects they're connected to, resulting in an intense vibration attack. Their maximum range is several meters. It's not much, but I'll manage."
Asta nods before looking towards Kaminari.
"Kaminari, how's your lightning Quirk?"
The blonde still felt unsure, but he went ahead and explained his power anyway.
"If you're wondering about its range, it ain't long since I have no control over the bolts depending on said range."
Asta nods again before giving Kaminari a thumbs up, surprising him a bit.
"Don't worry, we'll figure something out along the way!"
"Uh… Thanks..?" Kaminari states, still unable to get over how brave he's being despite what's going on.
"And lastly, Yaoyo-san," Momo stood in attention while Kyoka and Kaminari raised a brow at what he called her. "Are there any limitations to what you can create with your Quirk? Anything at all?"
Momo was silent, still astonished by how Asta was acting despite the overall personality he usually has.
"Yaoyo-san?"
Momo was snapped from her thoughts when Asta spoke again.
"R-Right. Well, my limit depends on how many types of molecular structures of what material or object is made of I can understand. What I can do for us right now is to create weapons to defend ourselves from the enemy."
Asta's eyes widen as he learns this and gets closer to Momo, making her squeak because of how fast he is.
"What's the limit on weapons?! I know you can produce steel, but what about the weapons in general?!"
Asta's classmates saw how excited he got because of the stars in his eyes.
"W-Well… that depends, Asta-kun. Is there a specific weapon you have in mind for your own usage?"
Asta nods vigorously.
"Yeah yeah! It's a big sword like…" Asta pauses before pointing his fingers together with horizontal lines for eyes. "Uh… anybody got a pen and pad I can use?"
Momo was quick to produce these items and present them to Asta.
"Thank you!" Asta says before he got started scribbling, leaving his classmates wondering just what he was drawing on the paper.
Seconds later, puts the cap back on the pen and walks towards Momo with his finished drawing.
"Yaoyo-san, if your Quirk is able to, I want you to make me a sword exactly like this!"
Taking the pad from Asta, Momo observes the paper and sees what he's drawn. Her eyes broaden a bit when she learns that the weapon he's requesting is a greatsword with the blade decorated in what seemed to her like scuff marks.
Inspecting the drawing further, Momo saw that the blade and hilt were separated from each other and connected by a fuller. The hilt appeared to her as a handle to a normal longsword. The blade is huge and was drawn to have a pointed tip while the base is pointing inward, creating an angle.
After staring at the picture long enough, Momo swallows a lump and sets her eyes on Asta.
"Okay… I should be able to create this greatsword you drew on the paper."
Asta got even more excited as stars returned in his eyes.
"Really?! Thank you so much!"
"But," Momo interjects. "Because of how large the weapon is, it's going to take a lot more time compared to a smaller sword. And…" Momo's cheeks start to get red. "Since I create objects from my bare skin… and you depict this weapon to be really big…"
Asta tilted his head at Momo, not quite sure why she was pausing this much like she was. But after recalling her performance in the battle trials, he smacks his fist into his palm in realization.
"Oh! I get it! The larger the object, the more skin you need to have exposed to make room!"
Kyoka and Kaminari do a spit take while Momo confirms it with a nod, shocking the two even further.
"Yes… Because of that…" Before she could finish, Momo's eyes widen to see that Asta has his back turned to her.
"Do what you gotta do, Yaoyo-san! I trust you!" Asta states before turning his head back to look towards the other two. "Jiro-san, use your Quirk on one of those mountains to sniff out some Villains! Kaminari, you're with me!"
Kyoka looked at Asta with a surprised expression. The moment Asta put together the conditions Momo has to create larger objects, he immediately looked away so he wouldn't see her have to take her top off to create whatever large weapon he wanted to have. Seeing that got her to gain some respect for her Class Representative.
But then, she shoots a glare at Kaminari, who is still blushing like mad because of the new knowledge regarding Momo's Quirk.
"Well, you heard our Class Representative!" Kyoka says before jabbing her ear jacks on the back of his skull. "Join him and no peeking!"
Kaminari screeches from the pain that got him to leap and land right next to Asta. Right after this, Momo got right to studying Asta's drawing while removing her top while Kyoka used her ear jacks to listen into the other side of each mountain.
While the girls were doing their jobs, Kaminari was filled with temptation to look behind him where Momo was creating Asta's sword of choice. But before he could give it a shot, he remembered how Asta was acting the very moment they were teleported here, making him
"H-Hey… Class Rep?"
"You can still call me Asta."
Kaminari was surprised by this but went ahead.
"R-Right, Asta… How are you still doing this?"
"Doing what?"
Kaminari was silent for a few seconds before speaking again.
"I mean… How are you not afraid? I can understand how you were during the Battle Trials, but… real-life Villains that actually aim to harm us… I don't get it. Aren't you… scared or something?"
"Of course I'm nervous about where the rest of this goes."
Kaminari gasps at Asta's answer. But before he could ask more questions, Asta resumed.
"But we can't be scared forever. We're going to be Heroes. And if we want to defeat as many bad guys as possible, we need to toughen up and go beyond Plus Ultra!"
Kaminari kept his shocked gaze on Asta. He knew how tough he was despite his lack of a Quirk, but he underestimated his mental strength.
"So let's work together to survive. If things look bleak, then we'll just dig deep and surpass our limits!"
Blinking three times, Kaminari has gained motivation from Asta and nods at his classmate.
"Yeah. I'm with you, dude."
"Asta-kun, it's ready."
The two boys and Kyoka turn towards Momo, who's breathing quite heavily while adjusting her Hero costume's top. Next to the girl, their eyes nearly bulge from their sockets when they see a large greatsword lying on the ground.
But while Kaminari and Kyoka remained shocked at the weapon's size, Asta got giddy as the stars in his eyes were shining brightly, seeing that it appeared exactly as he imagined it.
"Wow! It's perfect!" Asta exclaims before zipping towards the object for further inspection. "And its appearance is so ancient too! I especially love the detail you gave it! Man, Yaoyo-san, your Creation Quirk really is something~!"
Momo felt a bit flustered at the praise, but her expression quickly changed to worry as Asta started to pick up the sword with only one hand.
"Wait, Asta-kun! The sword is heavy, and-"
Momo was forced to stop talking when she, Kyoka, and Kaminari witness Asta lift the sword up in the air with one arm, not appearing to have any problems whatsoever.
"Whup!" Asta grabs hold of the hilt with his other hand and performs some test swings. Grinning in satisfaction, he then tried out some one-handed swings with the weapon, shocking the trio even more.
"God damn!" Kaminari blurts with a pale face as he sees the muscles on his arm flex just to keep it steady.
Kyoka and Momo, despite seeing his physique before in the Quirk Assessment test, still couldn't quite get over it as their jaws remained open as they looked him up and down.
"Okay! Good to go!" Asta announces before looking over Kyoka, who was still gawking at him. "Jiro-san, how's the scouting?"
Kyoka had to smack her own cheeks to snap out of her stupor before she looked to her right.
"Well, it's lucky your sword is done, because I picked up some movement just beyond that mountain."
Asta's brows furrow.
"Okay, Yaoyo-san, make yourselves some weapons! This is where we get serious!"
Momo nods before she got to work with her Creation Quirk. After making a small sword for Kyoka and a staff for herself, with Kaminari opting to use fisticuffs because of his Lightning Quirk, the four students prepare themselves for the incoming Villains as their footsteps become more audible by the second.
The Villains finally showed themselves to the four students. The students saw two men in gray metallic masks; one large and buff and the other shorter and skinnier than the former, another man with three scarf-like bindings, one around his neck and two around his torso, and a slender lady in long black hair and a plain purple kimono wielding a scythe.
"Well well well, looks like we found ourselves some wannabe Heroes," the Villain with bindings says.
"Ha! These brats will be easy pickings!" the large buff Villain states with a laugh.
As they start to get closer, the woman with the scythe observes the students before her eyes stop at Asta, resulting in her slitting her eyes at him with a grin.
"Ara ara, I know that face anywhere~"
"Huh?" Asta tilted his head at the woman who sensually stroked the handle of her weapon, not taking her eyes off of him for even a second.
"Eh?" the Villain with the bindings gives the woman a look. "You know the brat with the giant sword or something?"
"Fufufufu~ That boy over there has no Quirk. But despite all of that, he tangoed with the Sludge Villain and rescued two of his hostages."
While Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari gasp at the woman's knowledge, Asta's brow raises.
"Sheesh! How many more people are gonna bring up what happened a year ago?!" Calming down a bit, Asta readies his sword while keeping his eyes on the Villains. "But yeah, I'm Quirkless, but that's not gonna stop me from becoming a great Hero! And my next milestone will be defeating you Villains with my friends and all of my strength!"
Asta's classmates are once again astonished by the bravery and confidence of their Quirkless class representative. His words were so powerful that they sparked a bit of motivation in the three to do the best they can against the Villains that they're confronting.
But The Villains have mixed reactions. While the woman with the scythe giggles into her hand and the Villains in metal masks tilt their heads at the kid, the man with the bindings cackles in hilarity.
"They actually let someone with no powers become a student?!" The Villain quizzes with his sights dead-set on Asta. "This will be easier than I thought! Nobody can be the strongest without a Quirk!" The Villain then charges at Asta. "You'll be my first kill!"
While Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari gasp for their classmate, Asta remains composed as he observes the Villain with the bindings get closer.
As he got close enough, the muscles in Asta's arms bulged as he quickly lifted his sword.
Everyone's eyes widen, including the Villain with the bindings since he was the most under the impression that he was going to get cut in half by such a large hunk of metal because of how fast the boy was to swing his weapon. However…
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!"
BONK!
Instead of slashing at the Villain, Asta slams the flat edge of his sword against him, sending his opponent flying to the side at fast speed and crashing into a mountain, causing debris and some dust to erupt from the impact.
The other Villains took a step back in shock as the dust continued to block the view of the Villain with bindings with Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari sharing the same expressions.
"God damn!" Kaminari exclaims, swearing that he saw a few veins appear from Asta's biceps before, during, and after Asta's attack.
As the dust finally settled with some debris rolling near the Villains' feet, everyone's eyes widened further when they saw that the Villain with bindings was knocked out cold with a dropped jaw and swirly eyes while he was still stuck in the mountain.
Everyone looks back at Asta, whose expression is just as stern as before with narrow brows, contracted irises, and a frown.
"Is that all you guys got?!" Asta questions while lifting his sword up with one hand, causing more veins to be prominent in that arm.
"God damn!" Kaminari shutters as he witnesses the veins, with Momo and Kyoka being just as shocked as him.
The remaining three Villains kept their eyes on Asta with caution after what they've seen.
"Oh, shit," the skinny Villain in the mask said. "This kid really knows how to fight."
"Indeed," the muscular Villain agrees while the woman with the scythe titters more frequently while eyeing up Asta's muscles with some red developing in her cheeks.
As some seconds pass, Kyoka notices something from the corner of her eye and checks to see what's going on.
"Uh, guys..? More are coming!"
Asta, Momo, and Kaminari look where Kyoka's ear jack is pointing and see that there are indeed more Villains in various outfits approaching them. What got them to raise their brows was that a majority of them were using weapons while a minority of them had their Quirks active.
"Heh! Don't think your increase in numbers will be enough to intimidate me!" Asta roars.
The buff Villain chuckles.
"A cocky little brat, isn't he? All because he was able to take the weakest of us down?"
"Ara ara, he may be stronger than we think," the woman with the scythe tells him. "How about I deal with him since we both carry bladed weapons?"
"If you insist, he's all yours," the skinny Villain replies while their reinforcements reach them. "We'll handle the other three kids."
Asta backs up towards his classmates so they can form a group.
"You guys ready?"
Momo kept her eyes on her class representative for a moment before nodding strongly, smiling back at him.
"After seeing what you did, there's no way I'm going to be backing down."
Kyoka nods in agreement while getting into a fighting position with her sword.
"Same here! Let's do this!"
"Y-Yeah!" Kaminari adds, still feeling a bit nervous because of the high count of Villains.
With all of that said, the four students get ready to fight the Villains that were quickly surrounding them on all sides. And with a grin, Asta lifts his sword up and rushes towards his next opponent with Kyoka and Momo doing the same.
"Alright! Let's go!"
Meanwhile, Izuku was on a ship with Tsuyu and Mineta in the Flood Zone after the frog girl saved the two boys from underwater Villains as they were all teleported into the water. And right now, the ship they are in is surrounded by these same Villains that intend on sinking it.
"What?! You're saying we should fight?! Are you stupid?!" Mineta shouts at Izuku after the latter has earlier said to him and Tsuyu that they should do so after going over what has happened, including the Villains' intentions of killing All Might and possibly finding a way to do so. "These guys might kill All Might, right?! You're contradicting yourself, Midoriya!"
Despite his many cries, Izuku and Tsuyu kept observing their surroundings while thinking of how to handle the Villains. But it didn't stop Mineta from ranting further with tears shooting from his eyes like waterfalls.
"The best plan would be to sit tight and wait for the U.A. Heroes to come save us!"
"Mineta," Izuku says, his eyes still on the Villains in the water. "Those guys down there are clearly assuming we'll fight in the water, right?"
Mineta's eyes whiten at Izuku.
"Are you ignoring what I'm saying?!"
Izuku resumed his speech.
"Does that mean they knew what was in these facilities before they gathered people?"
"I would think so," Tsuyu answers before croaking.
"For people who gathered that much intel so meticulously, there's something strange. They sent you, Asu-"
"Ribbit?"
Izuku quickly stops himself as Tsuyu looks at him.
"I-I mean, Tsu-san, they sent you to the shipwreck zone."
Tsuyu kept her stare on Izuku for a moment before giving the nervous boy a smile.
"Your own pace is fine. After all, you are one of Asta-chan's officers."
Izuku chuckles with an embarrassed face while scratching his cheek.
"Oh, you think so?"
"Well, what about it?!" Mineta asks as his panicking increases tenfold.
After thinking about it further, something clicked in Izuku's head before he snapped his fingers.
"This means, in other words, the Villains probably don't know what our Quirks are."
Tsuyu croaks with raised brows.
"Yeah… that's true…" The Frog girl looks to her right, setting her eyes on the building decorated with paintings of flames. "If they knew that I was a frog, then they probably would have thrown me into that fire zone over there."
Izuku nods with Tsuyu.
"They probably separated us because of their lack of knowledge of our Quirks, so they planned to overpower us with numbers. Although we have inferior numbers and less experience, our only hope lies in the fact that our opponents don't know what our Quirks are. The enemies aren't even trying to climb the boat. That supports my hypothesis!" Izuku's eyes narrow. "But that probably means they aren't underestimating us, either."
Tsuyu observes the Villains for a few more minutes before looking at Izuku.
"I'll tell you more about my Quirk. I can jump high, stick to walls, and stick my tongue out up to about 20 meters. I can also spit out my stomach and wash it, and secrete toxic mucus that actually just stings a little."
Mineta was surprised by the stomach ability with his cheeks turning pink because of the secrete part.
"The stomach part of my Quirk is practically useless, so you can probably forget about that."
Izuku nodded at Tsuyu after she finished her explanation.
"I already kind of knew, but you're really strong. I have super strength, but if I use too much power, I'm pretty much out of commission, making my power a double-edged sword."
Wanting to chime in, Mineta plucks a purple ball out of his head and presents it to Izuku and Tsuyu.
"My Quirk is Pop Off. It lets these balls of mine stick super tight," he explains before planting the ball onto the wall of the ship to demonstrate. "Depending on how I'm feeling, they can even stick for a whole day. They grow back after I pull them off, but if I pull off too many, I'll start bleeding. Also, they don't stick to me. They just bounce off me."
Izuku and Tsuyu observe the sticky ball for many seconds. And with more time of remaining silent, it caused Mineta to feel lose confidence and start crying again.
"Dammit all! That's why I said we should just wait quietly! My Quirk is totally unfit for battle!"
"N-N-No, that's not it!" Izuku assures Mineta. "It's a neat Quirk, so I'm sure there's a way you can use it for battle!"
Before he could say more to bring back his classmate's confidence, a giant arm made of water cuts the ship in half, making the students lose balance because of the friction.
"I'm getting impatient," the Villain with the water-morphing Quirk says before creating another arm with its hand morphed into a fist. "Let's end this quickly!"
"What power…" Tsuyu says. "For it to be strong enough to break the ship…"
Unable to take it, Mineta moves near the rails of the ship and throws his balls at the Villains while screaming in fear.
"Wait! You can't give up!" Izuku shouts while approaching him. "If you keep doing that, the enemy will figure out your…"
Izuku stops himself when he notices a shark-like Villain trying to move the balls away from him by splashing the water with his hands.
"What the heck are these?"
'They're being cautious and not touching them?' Izuku thought.
"The boat will sink in less than a minute," the shark Villain tells his allies. "Once they get into the water, victory is ours!"
Mineta screams in horror as his back is pressed against the wall.
"We're so screwed!"
"Mineta-chan, did you really enter U.A. to become a Hero?"
Mineta's head snapped towards Tsuyu with more tears spurting from his eyes.
"Shut up! It's weirder to not be scared right now! We were only in junior high until a little while ago! Who would've thought that we would be almost killed right after starting high school?! I wish I could've at least copped a feel of Yaoyorozu's boobs first!"
"When the enemy…" Mineta's crying ceases when he and Tsuyu hear Izuku speak. "When the enemy becomes certain of their victory, that will be our chance. All Might said so before on TV."
Tsuyu tilted her head at Izuku while Mineta sniffled.
"Wh… What do you mean?"
Izuku's fist tightens, surprising Mineta.
"This is the only way… to win!" Izuku looks towards Tsuyu and Mineta "And if our current strength isn't enough, then we just need to dig deep and surpass our limits!"
Tsuyu and Mineta were left shocked by Izuku's words. The resolve in his voice was so strong, it instantly reminded Tsuyu of Asta, especially since she's well aware of their friendship.
"You really must be kids, with all the chirping and screaming," the shark Villain says while the Villain with teal eyes and the ability to create water arms swims over to him.
"Hey, Shigaraki said to not let your guard down, remember? We should judge them by their Quirks, not their ages. It's common sense, isn't it? Because our Quirks will definitely have an advantage in the water."
The Villain begins to form another arm from the lake's water for another attack. But before he could make it grow, he and the shark Villain heard a loud metal slam noise and look up to see Izuku looking down at them with a stern stare.
At the exact moment they saw him, Izuku unleashes a battle cry, making the Villains raise their brows at him.
'Act like Asta…' Izuku tells himself mentally before jumping off the ship towards the enemies, ignoring the pleas and cries of Mineta with Tsuyu observing Izuku very closely.
"I'm not done yet!" Izuku shouts as he falls towards the Villains.
"Heh! He's a kid after all," the water-manipulating Villain scoffs as he gets his water arm ready to strike.
But little did the Villains realize, Izuku had a plan for him, Tsuyu, and Mineta to escape them and regroup with the others, aiming his hand towards them while getting his fingers in a position meant for clicking.
'Imagine the egg not exploding!'
While Tsuyu, Izuku, and Mineta were making their escape, Thirteen stood in front of the students who didn't get caught in the purple aura creature's grasp. Those students were Tenya, Ochaco, Rikido, Sero, Mina, and Shoji, who was currently using his Quirk to search for the rest of their classmates.
"Well, Shoji? Are you able to find them?"
Shoji kept searching with the eyes and ears on his tentacles for a little longer before morphing one of them into a mouth and guiding it to Tenya.
"Everyone's scattered, but they're all still in this building."
The students sigh in relief. After hearing the update from Shoji, they could now focus their sights on the portal-like entity that blocks their path.
"Damn…" Sero curses. "Physical attacks can't hit him, and he can warp things. What an annoying Quirk!"
Thirteen narrows her eyes at the aura Villain before turning her head slightly.
"Iida-kun!"
"Y-Yes, ma'am?!"
"There is a duty I am entrusting to you: Run to the school and tell the staff about what is happening here."
Tenya's eyes broaden.
"M-Me, Thirteen-sensei?"
Thirteen nods.
"The alarms are not sounding, and our phones don't have a signal. The alarm system is based on infrared rays. Even though Eraser Head is erasing people's Quirks left and right, it still won't be enough, which means they must have someone with an interference Quirk who hid as soon as they arrived. I believe it would be faster for you to run than for us to find that person."
Tenya's teeth clench together with frustration in his eyes.
"But it would be a disgrace as one of the class rep's officers to leave him and everyone else behind-"
"There's an Emergency Exit!" Tenya's attention was now on Rikido, who was walking in front of Tenya to protect him. "If you can get outside, there are alarms. That's why these guys are only attacking inside, right?"
Sero nods with Rikido while getting in a fighting position next to him.
"As long as you get out, they won't follow you! Just blow away this fog with your legs!"
Thirteen nods in agreement.
"Yes, use your Quirk in order to save others!"
Tenya gasps at how much faith his two classmates and Thirteen are putting on him.
"Don't worry, Iida-kun!" Ochaco assures him. "I can totally support you!"
"B-But…" Tenya stutters. "What about the class rep, Asta?"
"I don't think we need to worry about him," Mina chimes in before looking up at the ceiling and blushing. "Knowing Asta-kun, I'm sure he's showing those Villains what for with all of his raw power!"
Tenya takes a step back at Mina's words. There wasn't a single ounce of doubt in the pink girl's voice as she stated that boldly.
"I should know that myself." Tenya, Ochaco, and Mina's gaze was now on Shoji as he addressed the boy in glasses with a tentacle mouth. "If class rep Asta's resolve is as strong as it was during his Battle Trials against me and Todoroki, then there is no need to worry about him. So please, like how we have our faith in our class rep, please allow us to put our faith in you, one of the two officers Asta himself has entrusted for the position."
Tenya's eyes widen. As he heard all those words from his classmates, he suddenly remembered Asta's performance in the Quirk Assessment Test and the Battle Trials. He recalled how strong-willed the boy was and how he was able to keep persevering in order to win his fights.
As he remembered all of this, Tenya has now become more determined than before.
'If class rep Asta can go far without giving up, then so shall I! I will live up to his expectations as his officer!'
With this resolve in mind, Tenya readies the engines in his calves while getting into a running position, catching the attention of the aura creature.
"… Let's do it."
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Back with Asta, Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari, the group continued to defend themselves against the Villains. While Momo and Kyoka were doing well, Kaminari mostly ran away from the Villains avoiding their attacks with Asta doing most of the fighting.
And as it continued, Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari couldn't help but be distracted by Asta's battles. Despite the various Quirks the Villains after him have, the gray-blonde was able to easily evade, counter, and strike back against them with his sword.
"Just who the hell is this brat?!"
"How is he this fast?!"
"Is he really Quirkless?!"
Lifting his head up towards the next group of Villains that questioned his power, Asta decided to give his grappling hook a true test and set it to claw mode. Aiming carefully, he launches the hook and attaches it to the biggest of the six Villains, the one with four arms.
"What the?!"
With a grin, Asta jumps and allows his grappling hook to zoom him towards the Villains while raising his sword high. Turning it to show the flat edge, he bellows another battle cry before slamming it into the five Villains, knocking them all down like bowling pins.
"You're next!" Asta exclaims at the bigger four-armed Villain, detaching his hook off of him before doing a back flip above the Villain.
The big Villain tried to swat him away out of reflex, but Asta was faster, bringing his sword above himself and smashing his opponent's head with the flat edge, knocking him out cold before landing right next to him and breathing deeply, resulting in steam fuming out of his lips.
"God damn!"
"Will you stop saying that?!" Kyoka snaps at Kaminari with her jacks looking ready to jab his lips.
"I'm sorry! I can't help it!" Kaminari says as he gets closer to Kyoka and Momo. "I mean, look at him, he is cut! He's so fast and strong that I'm beginning to wonder if he has an Unlimited Stamina Quirk or bones made of pure Iron! He's just so friggin-"
Kyoka shuts him up with a jab of her ear jacks.
"Save your ramblings when we're done fighting, stupid!" she tells him as she, Momo, and Kaminari see more Villains approaching them in a larger group.
Asta notices them too and quickly lifts his sword up to run to them.
"Hang on, you guys! I'll back you up!"
Just as he was about to get closer, he felt a gust of wind on his left and turns his head in that direction, only for him to gasp and lift his sword up to block an attack from the woman with the scythe, resulting in sparks flaring up into the sky.
"Hello there~" the scythe wielder greets with a sweet but vicious voice. "Would you like to dance with me?"
Asta squeaks at the woman's creepy expression before he goes straight back to being stern.
"Sorry, but I don't dance with Villains!"
Asta shoves her away and immediately makes a beeline for his friends. But the woman managed to get in his way with her scythe raised up, making Asta stop to block the attack.
"Fufufufu~ Come on, it'll be fun. I promise~"
"You're in my way, Grim Reaper Lady!"
The Villain giggled at Asta.
"Grim Reaper Lady? That sounds sweet~" The woman's face was pleasant before it suddenly twisted into a maddening gaze and grin. "Now, let's continue our dance!"
Asta growls as the woman starts swinging her scythe at him. He was able to block them okay, but a few swipes nearly cut at his flesh. And whenever he tried to disarm the woman, she would always deflect the strikes.
As the two battled, the other three 1-A students were left to defend themselves against the other attacking Villains without Asta to aid him because of the woman with the scythe.
"These guys are persistent!" Kaminari complains in terror with Momo and Kyoka being the only ones fighting back.
"We need to figure out how we'll get away from these people!" Kyoka says.
"Then give me a weapon, too!"
Kyoka looks at Kaminari with furrowed brows.
"You're an electric guy, aren't you? Just zap them all with your bolts!"
"What?! Have you forgotten how our Battle Trials went?! I can cover myself with electricity, but let's not forget my crappy control of the bolts in long range and that there's interference jamming the signal, preventing me from calling for help!"
"Taser them with your hands, Kaminari!"
The three students gasped when they heard Asta shout at Kaminari while he was still fighting the woman with the scythe.
"A… Asta?"
"Just go for it, Kaminari! You got this! I believe in you!"
Kaminari was shocked into silence because of that choice of words. For Asta to just blurt that out…
"Well, you heard our Class Rep," Kyoka tells Kaminari with a small grin. "You're a boy, aren't you? Then stop whining and be a man."
Kaminari blinks twice, still quiet because of what Asta shouted.
"Time to die, brat!"
But then, Kaminari screams when he hears the large Villain in a mask rush towards him with his fist raised high. Holding his hands up in an attempt to block the enemy's punch, yellow electricity danced around Kaminari's palms before making contact with the Villain.
And as they did, the Villain went up in yellow electricity and started exclaiming in pain. Slowly opening his eyes, Kaminari looks in surprise to see that his Quirk is having a big effect on the Villain while also scaring some of the other Villains a bit.
"Whoa… it's actually doing some damage!"
While Momo and Kyoka deadpanned at Kaminari since they expected such results, Asta cheered for his classmate.
"Alright! I knew you could do it if you tried!"
Kaminari felt a confidence boost from his classmate's praise. With his smile widening, he turns up the electricity to have a stronger effect so he can knock him out.
"Yeah! I got this!" Kaminari shouts before giving a thumbs up. "Okay! You three can count on me!"
"Can do!" Asta replies while swinging his sword at his opponent. "Keep it up, Kaminari!"
"You got it, Asta!"
Kyoka sweat drops at the two boys as she watches Kaminari keep zapping the Villain.
"You two are way too happy-go-lucky…"
"Stop messing around, little shit!"
Kyoka sees a Villain in a yellow suit with one arm longer than the other charge at her with a boulder in the hand of said arm and moves her right ear jack towards her right boot. Plugging it in, she utilizes her heartbeat to unleash a vibration wave towards the enemy, blowing him away and destroying his boulder in the process.
Due to the vibration's force, it repelled the Villain's long arm and made it make contact with Kaminari's face, causing the Villain to be tasered as well. But as they were being zapped, another Villain with knives and a boar mask leaps above Kaminari to take him out.
But Momo saw the Villain and quickly threw a ball of net she created from her arm at him. The net expands and captures the Villain, leaving his fate sealed as the next chain of Kaminari's electricity.
"Alright!" Asta was able to see what his classmates have done despite his tough battle against the woman with the scythe. "Keep it up, you guys! You're doing great!"
Kyoka was a little taken aback by Asta's words of encouragement, but she appreciated them in this harsh time.
"We have to hurry and aid our Class Representative!" Momo shouts while swatting a Villain across the face with her staff.
Kyoka smirks before setting her stance on some more Villains.
"Yeah, I gotcha!"
Channeling her heartbeat, Kyoka shoots another loud vibration toward seven of the Villains. Despite them covering their ears, it proved futile as the wave was so loud it brought them to their knees.
"Kaminari!" Kyoka calls out. "You should have requested something to help you aim in your costume order!"
Kyoka hears a Villain from behind her scream at her while jumping and falling towards her armed with hatchets. As soon as she ducks out of his way, Momo kicks the Villain away from her.
"Jiro-san! I have a plan!"
"Yeah? What's that?" Kyoka asks while backhanding a charging Villain.
"It's gonna take time for my side of the plan, but in order to really pull it off, we need to have Asta-kun by our side."
"And Kaminari-kun?"
Momo smirks.
"He'll be our ultimate weapon."
Kyoka raised a brow, but gears started turning in her head when she started to understand where this was going before nodding with her deputy.
"But the question is, how do we tell Asta if he's busy fighting that crazy chick with the scythe?"
As she asked that, she, Momo, and Kaminari paused what they're doing when they heard Asta shout. But this shout wasn't that of combat engagement. Taking a look, their eyes widen when they see that the woman with the scythe has cut the gray-blonde's right cheek.
"Fufufu, you almost lost your head~," the Villain coos as her eyes glimmered with a hand on her cheek while tapping her foot three times. "You really are a strong little boy, aren't you~?"
Asta observes the cut and sees that it's bleeding very slowly. But since it was a very small cut, he ignored it and looked right back at his opponent.
"That won't be enough to stop me!"
The woman watches Asta lunge and giggles darkly with slit eyes.
"Not yet~"
Their blades collide once again. Asta was on the offense for a while before the scythe wielder sped around him. With a crazed face, she swings her scythe to her right, but Asta dodges it just fine while swinging his sword upwards.
The woman dodges the uppercut, skipping backwards from Asta before she comes to a stop.
"Ara ara, you're lasting much longer than my previous playmates," The woman says before her expression switches to maniacal. "I can only imagine how scrumptious you'd look if I cut you up some more~!"
A tick mark develops on Asta's forehead as he points a finger at her with white eyes.
"Hey! I'm getting tired of your crazy mood swings, Grim Reaper Lady!"
He was going to exclaim more, but couldn't as he felt more wetness in his cheek.
"What the… It's still bleeding? An injury like this should've stopped right now."
The woman giggles louder, bringing Asta's attention back to her.
"You've finally noticed my Quirk taking its effect on you, sweetie?"
Asta cocks a brow at the Villain.
"What are you talking about?!"
The woman kept giggling before she licked the handle of her scythe, freaking out the students.
"Well, you survived for such a long time, so I might as well indulge you on my power. You see, I have the ability to make my victim's cuts bleed forever. All I need to do is cut them anywhere and tap my foot twice. Once my Quirk activates, my victims won't stop bleeding until they run out of blood~"
Asta and his classmates were bewildered by the woman's Quirk before the latter three saw the blood continue to trickle down Asta's cheek with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
And while the three students grew concerned for their Class Representative, Asta didn't cower and lifted his sword back up.
"So, if I want to stop my bleeding, I simply have to defeat you, huh?!"
"Yup~" The woman confirms before playfully bonking herself on the head with her fist with her tongue out. "A simple K.O. will undo my Quirk."
Asta's irises become small black dots as do his classmates' eyes.
"Huh… Didn't expect you to be this honest…"
The woman giggles some more before her eyes go crazed.
"That's because you won't stop me! Now bleed more for me~!"
"Not happening!"
Asta goes for another swing to take away the Villain's scythe only for her to sidestep and cut his shoulder. Tapping her foot twice, his shoulder was now affected by her Quirk.
Asta hisses in pain before shooting his glare at his opponent.
"Not yet! I'm not done!"
The woman giggles as she watches him try again. She blocks two more of his swings and tries to go for his stomach, but Asta parries and goes for a forward thrust.
Because of his strength, Asta leaped away from her during the attack since she avoided that too. And as he was trying to regain balance, the woman took advantage of it and sprints to the boy and slashed his back with a diagonal strike.
Asta screams as he feels the scythe cut into his back. He falls to his knees, but he keeps his grip on his sword very tightly so his whole body doesn't collapse.
"Asta-kun!" Momo shouts as she, Kyoka, and Kaminari can see that Asta hasn't gotten up for quite some time. And seeing his blood endlessly leak from the three cuts he's gained wasn't making things easier for them, especially for Kaminari.
"You really are quick," the woman compliments while tilting her head at Asta and tapping her foot again. "But I'm quicker~"
Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari start to worry for their class representative as the Villain with the scythe starts to stride towards Asta. As much as they wanted to intervene, they still had their hands full with the other Villains that are still trying to take them down.
"It won't be long now," the woman coos with her scythe raised. "With the amount of blood you're losing right now, especially from the wound on your back, it will only be a matter of seconds before you're anemic…" The woman's eyes get crazed again. "… And become my next prey!"
Asta's eyes were hidden by his bangs as he still tried to get up, but the blood loss had just started to hinder his movements, and the woman with the scythe was able to tell this.
"It was fun to fight someone whose speed is on par with my own, but all good things come to an end." The woman grabs her scythe firmly in both hands and swings. "Sweet dreams!"
The three students gasped as they watched the scythe getting close to Asta's neck. And as it gets closer and closer…
PING!
It felt like a flash… but the moment the woman was about to decapitate Asta, her scythe was suddenly swatted away with such a forceful swing that it made her lose her balance. Managing to get a look while still staggering, her eyes widen to see that Asta was firmly back on his feet, able to parry her attack with one hand despite his shoulder still bleeding.
Even Asta's classmates and a select few Villains who got a glimpse of the fight were shocked. He was bleeding badly in three cuts, and yet he was still up and ready to fight.
As for the gray-blonde himself, he kept his gaze firmly on his opponent with his sword still held high. And with his blood starting to splatter on the ground because of the endless bleeding, he bellows:
"I'm not done yet!"
Everyone was taken aback by the powerful voice in his roar and the lack of fear in his face.
But the most stunned by the gray-blonde was Momo. The moment she heard those four words out of Asta's mouth, she felt something click in her head.
"You can cut me up as much as you want, Grim Reaper Lady, but I will not submit! Not to somebody like you!"
Everyone continued to be surprised by this boy for various reasons. Not only was he still willing to fight despite his situation and Quirklessness, but with all of that shouting he was doing, it's quite crazy to them that he still hasn't bled out yet.
The woman with the scythe was now shaking, but it wasn't in fear.
"I see… if that's how you want to die…" Her face twists into a much more bloodthirsty expression. "Then I'll see fit that you die slow!"
Lunging, the woman aims for his stomach, but Asta blocks it fine. It was painful because of the endless bleeding, but he didn't care. Using his free hand, he punches the Villain in the face, staggering her again so he can smack her in the head with the flat edge of his sword.
But the woman blocked it. The tip of his sword did bump her on the left of her forehead a bit, but she didn't suffer anything too bad.
With their weapons brought apart, Asta and the woman continue to do battle. During their numerous clashes, dodging, and maneuvers, Asta has been getting more cuts all over his body, but he wouldn't back down. With every scrape he gained, he would always go "Not yet!" and "Not done!" and would attack stronger and stronger than before, bewildering the Villain because of how much more he was bleeding.
Momo kept her stare on Asta. With every second she watched him fight, those exact same words he shouted every moment suddenly brought back more memories.
"Not yet!"
"I'm not done!"
"I'm not giving up!"
Those repeated phrases were very familiar to Momo. And as she kept watching Asta fight, her eyes broadened further as it started to click in her head. And Asta… he started to become more recognizable to her.
"It… It's really…"
Momo was suddenly brought down by Kyoka as a Villain was trying to take a swing at her.
"Focus, deputy!" Kyoka says while knocking the Villain away with her vibrations.
Momo was brought back to reality before she looked up at Kyoka.
"S-Sorry."
"Uh, guys? We really need to hurry up!"
"What now, Kaminari?!"
Following where he was pointing, the two girls gasp when they see Asta's current condition. He was covered in blood and five more cuts, some small and some long, and despite still being ready for more, he was breathing very heavily, looking like he was on the verge of passing out.
And while the woman with the scythe suffered some hits as well with a tiny cut on her cheek, she was still in a better condition, but a lot of her stamina was definitely spent.
"Hah… Hah… You really are a good combatant," the woman says. "But it's the end of the line. I doubt that you have enough blood to spend on fighting, so it's best that you submit and accept defeat!"
The three students were now scared for Asta. With all of that blood on his clothes, himself, as well as some trickling off his body and landing all over the ground, who knows how long it will be until he finally collapses.
But Asta… he just starts chuckling. He kept chuckling and chuckling, both confusing and annoying the woman at the same time.
"Yeah? Don't count on it!"
The woman got more baffled.
"You can't be serious! How can you still keep going while you are still bleeding profusely!"
"Heh..! It's because… I'm not bleeding in some places anymore!"
The woman blinked twice.
"Wh… What?" She continued to look perplexed before she laughed with a grin. "What are you talking about? I made it clear to you that my Quirk makes those I cut keep bleeding until I'm either knocked out, I disable it, or if my victims are dead!"
But then, her eyes widen as she finally notices something about Asta's body, with his classmates managing to do the same while they're still fighting.
Some of the cuts on Asta's body, like the one on his cheek and his shoulder, have stopped bleeding. There were still areas like his leg and forearm that were still endlessly bleeding, but the spots she cut first before the others she slashed stopped.
"I think… I figured out your Quirk's flaw…" Asta grunts in between breaths while smirking. "You can only… keep so many cuts open… at a time before… some of them are no longer affected… Right..?"
The woman lets out a shuttered breath while taking a step back.
'No, that can't be… My Quirk can make all cuts endlessly bleed. It doesn't matter how many I cause! So how?! How has some of those injuries stop-' "Uh!"
Her thoughts are cut off when she detects something else going on. Upon getting a closer look, her eyes widen further when she sees something else come out of those cuts. It wasn't blood. To her, it looked suspiciously like…
'… Black smoke..?'
She had to shake her head to see if she was seeing things, but this mysterious aura of smoke fuming out of the cuts on Asta's body was still present. While some cuts still bled, the others were stopping.
As she shifted her eyes downwards, the Villain noticed some more of the barely visible black smoke radiating from Asta's hands, as well as the bottom part of his sword's hilt.
'Wait… What's going on?! We were told that this brat is Quirkless! So why is there black smoke coming out of him?! Have they miscalculated or-"
CHINK!
The woman's irises contract when she hears something being impaled. Looking down, she gasped to see that the handle of her scythe was stabbed by what looked to be a pyramid-shaped spike. Looking up, she sees that it was Asta who grabbed it with his grappling hook before yanking it away from the Villain, causing her to lose balance before she fell to the ground on her butt while Asta sprints towards her.
"You let your guard down!"
The woman wore a fearful expression as she was at the mercy of Asta, who was bringing his sword down on her.
Momo, Kyoka, Kaminari, and the Villains who got to see the battle conclude were left aghast by the results. Despite Asta having various cuts all over his body and losing quite a bit of blood, not only was he still standing like he didn't lose much, but he was victorious.
Standing over the knocked-out Villain, Asta's stare remained on her for a moment before lightly laughing. Seconds later, he grips his sword tightly and raises it up high.
"ALRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!"
The Villains stared at Asta in disbelief. Some were in denial that a kid without a Quirk was able to defeat the woman so easily, and others were even more on guard with him than ever.
Momo, Kyoka, and Kaminari however, felt glad that Asta finally defeated her. They were still shocked that he was able to do so while being all cut up, but they were glad nonetheless.
"Finally," Momo starts with a breath. "I can finally get that plan of ours in motion."
Kyoka looks towards Momo and her eyes broaden a bit when she sees the back of her Hero costume inflate.
"Asta-kun!" The gray-blonde in question turned his head towards Momo, whose backside of her shirt got bigger every few seconds. "Get over here, quickly!"
Asta wasn't quite sure what Momo had planned, but he trusts her and immediately ran to her and Kyoka. However, the cuts he suffered from the woman with the scythe started to slow him down with some of them opening up and bleeding again.
'Damn! I really overdone it, even though it was worth surpassing my limits!' Hissing, Asta then notices his grappling hook and grins. 'Oh yeah! This will be quicker!'
Aiming for the mountain behind Momo and Kyoka, Asta shoots his hook and zips over to them. But because of his body's current state, he couldn't quite land properly and ended up slamming into the mountain and falling to the ground, still clutching his sword.
"Gah! I-I'm okay!" Asta grunts while a few of his cuts have opened up.
"You don't look okay to me!" Kyoka shouts as she and the others see the said wounds bleed again.
Before she could scold him any further, Kyoka and Asta noticed that the back of Momo's shirt had gotten even bigger.
"Okay, it's finished!" Momo says as some rips and tears form on the shirt. "An item of this size takes a lot of time."
Right as she finishes her sentence, a large gray sheet pops out of Momo's back and unfolds itself before covering the three students.
"What's that supposed to be? Some sort of shield?" a Villain questions.
While lifting the sheet up to look at the Villains, Momo explains the sheet's purpose to her allies.
"It's an insulation sheet one hundred millimeters thick."
Asta blinks at Momo while Kyoka walks to him and crouches to him and gives him a thumbs up.
"Material like this is lightning proof."
With Asta understanding now and Momo nodding with the two, she peeks her head further from the sheet and turns her head left.
"Kaminari-san!"
The electric user hears Momo and sees her and the other two under the sheet. Recognizing the material, his eyes widen before he started to chuckle.
"I see…" Kaminari's grin widens while more bolts of electricity dance all over his body. "With you guys safe in that cloth… I can go all out!"
Slamming his hands on the ground, Kaminari's electricity grows stronger and wilder, branching towards every single Villain and giving them the worst electric shock of their lives. The bolts were so strong that those that didn't have a target ended up coating some mountains and even the dome of the facility.
The electricity continued on for ten more seconds before it finally stopped. All the Villains attacked slowly fell to the ground one by one with electric burns all over their bodies.
Asta watches the scene unfold with his eyes as wide as saucers.
"Whoa… That is awesome!" Asta says as his eyes then gain stars.
"Yeah…" Kyoka agrees with a surprised stare. "I never thought this much lightning would be so effective."
"Now then, I'm worried about the others."
Asta and Kyoka look toward Momo as she said this. But as soon as they did, their jaws dropped with red cheeks as they saw that her top was destroyed, most likely caused by the creation of the electric-proof sheet.
Since her chest was exposed because of this, Kyoka was quick to slam Asta's head on the ground.
"Don't look at her, Asta!"
"ACK! I already wasn't!"
Even though he said that, Kyoka kept his face on the ground while shooting her head back at Momo.
"Fix your clothes quickly! They got punk rock!"
Momo looks towards Kyoka with an assuring expression as if she forgot that Asta was under the sheet with her.
"Making a new one will be quick."
Kyoka nods rapidly as she sees her do just that while her eyes are on her chest.
'Such violent growth…' But then, Kyoka notices Kaminari coming into view and blocks the view of Momo while keeping her hand on Asta's head.
"Oi! Don't look this way!"
Kyoka was ready to mess Kaminari up if he dared to peek under the sheet, but paused when she and Asta see him walk past them. Getting a closer look the two watch Kaminari wander around with a dopey face with two thumbs up.
"Uh… Is he okay?" Asta asks while he hears Kaminari celebrate and skip around like a doofus.
"Yay-Yay… I did it… Plush Ultwa…"
Kyoka blinks at the scene before snorting.
"Looks like he short-circuited himself."
Asta looks up at Kyoka.
"You mean overusing his Quirk can make him in that state?"
"Looks that way."
Asta and Kyoka notice more light shining on them and see that it was Momo lifting the sheet off of them and dropping it to the side with a new shirt on.
While Kyoka sighed in relief, Asta smiled at Momo.
"Man… That was a great plan, Yaoyo-san," Asta tells her as he tries to get up, only to hiss as he feels more pain from his injuries.
"Stay put, Asta-kun," Momo instructs while grabbing something from her utility belt. "We need to treat your wounds quickly."
Asta and Kyoka saw that Momo was carrying some necessary antibiotics. Kneeling next to him, she starts to create cotton swabs and bandages from her arms.
"I'm glad I brought some antibiotics with me," Momo said as she started to treat Asta's wounds. "Although I never anticipated I would need them at a time like this."
While Asta felt some stings caused by the antibiotics, he didn't show a reaction as it was nothing compared to any worse pains he was inflicted with. Once that part was done, Momo began to dress those wounds with bandages, being as careful and precise as she could so she wouldn't limit the movement of any of his body parts.
As she watched Asta get patched up, Kyoka noticed just how caring Momo was as she took care of him. It got her to believe that she must've practiced with using the medical material.
"There, all set," Momo says while applying the last bandage.
"Thank you, Yaoyo-san," Asta says with closed eyes and a smile. "I really appreciate that."
Opening his eyes, Asta's brows raise when he sees Momo get rather close to him. With softened eyes, she reaches for his headband and gently pulls it down around his neck, revealing to her his forehead while his hair gets messy.
"Uh… do I have something on my forehead too?" Asta asks with a tilted head.
Momo didn't respond. She got engrossed by his facial structure and his hair.
"Yayoyo-san?"
Asta speaking up louder got Momo to snap out of her trance. Backing up a bit while her cheeks tinged light red, she clears her throat and opens one eye towards him.
"Y… your forehead is okay, Asta-kun."
"Ah! That's good!" Asta gets up with a giggle before picking his sword up from the ground and getting his headband back around his forehead. "Thanks again, Yaoyo-san. I can't overstate how helpful you've been. From making me this sword to coming up with that plan and patching me up. You're the real MVP here."
Momo lightly gasps at Asta's gratefulness.
"I'm… glad that I was helpful…"
Asta nods with Momo while Kyoka approaches Asta.
"Hey, you're the one who kept going despite getting messed up by that chick with the scythe. You even got the other Villains spooked despite your lack of a Quirk."
Asta snickers.
"Well, I guess all of my training paid off. But it wasn't all me. All of you put your best in it too. Especially you, Kaminari!"
Asta gave a thumbs up to the still dumb Kaminari, who just kept hopping and pumping his thumbs-up fists and giggling like an idiot.
Kyoka looked at Kaminari and started to have more fits of giggles.
"Oh my god, this is awesome," Kyoka says while Asta and Momo show concern for Kaminari.
"I hope he isn't like this forever. Or, at least… too long."
"Yeah, I hope so too," Momo concurs. "We still need to find the others and regroup with Thirteen-sensei and Aizawa-sensei."
Asta nodded in agreement and was about to say more, but before he could, his ears twitched as he picked up a faint digging noise.
"What's up, Asta?" Kyoka asks, noticing that Asta's expression has changed to cautious.
With his ears still twitching, Asta's eyes shift all over the ground, searching for where this mysterious digger is coming from.
As he continued to listen out for the noise, Asta's head snapped towards Kaminari as he heard the digging get louder near him.
"Kaminari!"
Asta sets his grappling hook to claw mode before shooting it at him. Just as he pulls Kaminari towards himself, Asta and crew watch with wide eyes to see a hand shoot up from the ground, followed by some electricity that coated the hand.
With the hand flexing twice with some more electric bolts popping, the ground below it explodes, and a new Villain emerges. The trio, minus Kaminari because of his current state, watch the Villain rise from the ground and observe the students closely.
This new Villain wore a skull mask, a green tank top, and black pants.
"Not bad, Quirkless wonder."
Asta's eyes slit at the new enemy, seeing that he has an electric Quirk like Kaminari. How he will encounter it is something he'll figure out as he prepares himself for his next fight.
To be continued in the next chapter: The Battle of USJ!
Asta's harem: Setsuna, Tsuyu, Mina, Momo, Nejire, Himiko, Midnight, Mt. Lady, and Mirko.
Until next time, folks~!
