Bonus Chapter No. 2: Author's Explanations and More
As I explained previously, Scarlet, Gotoh, Percival and Jett are my players' characters from my Dragon's Rise Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Together they form Team SAJE(Sage). Yeah I know it's scuffed but originally there were two other characters who unfortunately had scheduling issues and stuff and couldn't make it to games anymore.
Scarlet Nihilus:
A plucky, initially socially awkward girl who, once figured out how to be social, turned into a batshit insane and borderline psychopathic person. Not bloodthirsty but thrives on chaos. Once instigated a riot in Vale city, made several children cry at the Vytaal Festival, and broke more than fifty mirrors at once. Wanted for several accounts of property damage, theft, disregard for authority, evading police capture, fraud, tax evasion, killing a homeless man (accidentally but she swears it was self-defence) and more.
Contracted stomach cancer, E. Coli, Salmonella and clogged her arteries by trying to eat expired sushi from Beacon's mess hall at 2 a.m, a whole stick of butter, then thought licking the floor would cure it. She only survived due to plot armour (after screaming like a banshee in the hospital because she refused to let the doctors inject her with anesthetics... she also made several doctors quit that day).
Beat up an old man in broad daylight because he thought she was a boy (The old man had dementia and cataracts), then stabbed the lawyer who was trying to read her crimes (also in the middle of the day), then tried to escape the police only to end up in jail.
Despite all of this, Scarlet is a rather sweet and caring individual who values those who value her. She tries her best for the greater good even though it doesn't always work out.
She also ate Cinder Fall and is the world's Fall Maiden now... there's a rabbit hole that would take 50 million years to explain and involves 3 other DnD campaigns and almost 5 years of lore to explain her full backstory.
Also, she's the leader of Team SAJE and the first person to figure out her semblance.
Percival A. Lannseax (No I don't know what the A stands for):
A ten-foot-tall, armour-clad boy who has split personality disorder due to having amnesia. He only knows that his sole purpose in the world is to protect and serve Princess Luna Sapphire Flareheart. He's a healer but also a sociopath. Honestly I think he is devoid of all human emotion. He's cold, calculating and very pragmatic. The only thing I've seen him get happy about is cooking. On his first day at Beacon, it was like five sessions into the campaign, he met Scarlet and the first order of business was to sit this woman down in Ozpin's office and have a straight-up therapy session. Of course, only half succeeded.
He is the voice intellectual of the team, preferring to resolve conflict with words and debate rather than fists.
He does have a tendency to turn bloodthirsty and cruel whenever something triggers his split personality. While in this way he will become quite evil and dangerous but not outright violent, like a serial killer. It scares me sometimes.
There's a lot of things I could say about him but I can't in case he ever reads this.
Jett (Last name unknown):
Jett is a rather... interesting fellow. He chooses silence most of the time and secludes himself from his team, preferring to read in the library and study with Professor Oobleck. He's like the Season 1 Blake of the team. He specializes in stealth and has a high affinity of shadow manipulation. Interestingly enough, none of the party had their Auras unlocked during initiation and Glynda Goodwitch offered to unlock it for them, however Jett wanted to uncover his Aura and semblance on his own.
So far one of the only two members of the team has unlocked their semblance and we're already in Volume 6.
He does have an extremely cringeworthy sense of humour due to associating with... someone else in the campaign that would be too much stress for me to explain.
His actual lore is so deep that I would probably have to dedicate a whole other story just to covering it. To summarize, think of the DC Multiverse, that's essentially how stupid the rabbit hole gets as it connects several other DnD Campaigns and characters that he's played over the years.
Gotoh Eclipse:
A short and entertaining young man who also evidently has amnesia. He woke up at Beacon with no recollection who who he was other than his name and he knew how to play the guitar. Since then he's learned how to use a beat-pad, play the violin and the piano but prefers the guitar. He can sing but he can't dance to save his life. He once also Rick Rolled an entire weapons department store in Vale (And got them to sing along).
He is extremely charismatic and loves to give intense motivational speeches and teach others how to speak their minds and follow their hearts. It's what inspired that world's Weiss to fall for him. He helped Weiss escape Atlas in Volume 4 and completely wrecked Jacques' office.
Later on, he finds out he's actually the son of Salem and Ozma and woah boy there's a lot of family drama to unpack there.
He thought he was 17 but then he now thinks he's like 100+ years old but actually it's more confusing than that. If I did explain it and he read it here I'd be spoiling Volume 6 for him so I can't say too much.
I might update this when we progress more.
Unmentioned but cool to note Characters:
Abbigail Swiftwind:
Didn't spend much time with Team SAJE, she was one of the characters that couldn't make it to sessions anymore due to work and school but I turned her into a hopefully recurring NPC for later stages of the game. Again, I can't divulge too much.
Geralt The Homeless Guy:
Geralt was a fifty-something-year-old man who randomly wound up in Beacon's initiation. He was an ex-soldier who got dumped by his ex-wife Sheila who turned out to be the A.I. from RvB. He spiralled into wasting all of his money on gambling and alcohol which incidentally left him homeless.
He has no idea what happened or how he ended up in Beacon.
Eventually, he left to go back to Blood Gulch... where he came back with Tucker's alien baby (If you know RvB you know what I'm talking about). Scarlet eventually stole the alien and then that disappeared... it's a whole thing.
Anyway, Geralt is now a comedic enemy that sometimes pops up when I'm bored.
That's it for now, if you enjoy this sort of stuff please do tell, I'd love to hear feedback on both these bonus chapters and the fic in general.
I was going to actually get into Bumblebee romance in Trial 3 but I ended up making my original Trial 3 the new Trial 4 and creating this whole other Trial 3 to replace it. Anyway... next up I need to finish Chapter 95 of the main fic.
