Chapter 5: The Tiny Omission

A car pulled up Arthur's shop, where Arthur was drinking a mug, Sam was playing a video game, and Jake was playing with baby toys, then Rudy came inside with Agatha following.

"Hey Wingflap, what's up?"

"How would I know? No one tells me anything!"

"Rudy went into the Clouds, Arthur."

"Oh No!"

Arthur gasped as he dropped his mug.

"And you didn't die?"

Sam asked as Brill came in.

"Die? Why would he die?"

"Oh no."

Arthur frowned.

"Who's this guy?/Who are these kids?"

Sam and Brill asked at the same time.

"Uh, these are our sons Sam and Jake."

Arthur introduced them.

"More Sons?! That's means, I'm an Uncle?! Again?!"

He said lifting up Sam and Jake, proudly.

"I can't believe I have an Uncle!"

"And I can't believe I have more Nephews!"

Brill playing around with the boys, while Agatha closes the curtains, brought in Nessie's bowl and flipped the sign to "closed" on the door.

"Rudy, take a deep breath, let me explain."

She said as she and Rudy sat down.

"You see, when you went in the Clouds, it triggered... uh, something that's been in our family's blood for centuries, for... it released-"

"The Dragon!"

Brill interrupted throwing confetti and blowing a streamer, Rudy completely raised an eyebrow as Agatha grabbed her Brother and pushed him aside and sighed.

"What Brill means is... you turn into a Giant Dragon."

Rudy looked down to his hands and saw one was bigger and scalier than the other.

"I know this is a lot to process Rudy..."

She said covering his hand.

"...But you're not alone."

She finished as both their hand started to glow.

"I turn into a Giant Dragon too."

"What... WHAT!?!"

Rudy fell then backed up to a shelf.

"You Knew?!"

He said making Agatha feel bad, Rudy then brought out a book.

"So I'm this?"

He said revealing a Picture of a Dragons burning down a village and eating people.

"The Horrible Stereotype of Dragons that you said Humans made up!?"

"I'm offended."

Brill said.

"It sells."

Arthur said as Brill blew a Streamer in his face, personally.

"So what else is true about me, Mom? Do I burn down villages now? Do I eat people alive?"

"No! No honey, not at all."

"All this time you told me we were hiding from monsters, and it turns out I'm the monster. You Lied To Me!"

"Think of it more as a... tiny omission."

"Come on, turn Giant! I'm recording."

Sam said bringing out his phone.

"Sam, put it away!"

"But this is the coolest thing ever."

"It is Not Cool!"

Rudy Exclaimed.

"I was already a little weird, but this? I can't hide this!"

"Yes you can."

Agatha trying to make it ok.

"You don't get it Mom, every single day I make sure no one notices all the ways that I'm different. I fix my hair, I hide my scales, and I stand like I have a spine, it's hard, but this is impossible!"

"No, because you can control it, Rudy. Just like I have for all these years."

"Yeah, but you didn't have to go to Highschool with Giant, Razor Sharp Claws!"

He said showing his hands.

"Do I get Claws, too?"

Sam asked with excitement.

"Sorry son, only the Women and one Man born every hundred years in our family turn Giant."

Arthur explained.

"The rest of the Men just become older, rounder versions of ourselves, it's not great."

Brill said stretching and Jake was on his head, while Rudy looked at his phone and his friends were texting crazy.

"Rudy, listen, the Clouds is what triggers the transformation, but if you stay on land, you'll stay small with no wings."

"Cool, everyone at school is talking about the monster that destroyed the library."

He said as light started to flicker.

"As long as no one figures out it was you, we're safe."

"You're body is going through changes, think of it as blossoming."

"Egh, Dad."

"Does you're tail sting out poison?"

"Sam!"

Rudy looked at his phone again.

"How is this even happening right now?"

"As long as you stay out of the Clouds..."

Everyone started blabbering as Rudy started to feel annoyed.

"You're body is a flower."

And more.

"Do you grow any extra Wings?"

And more as lights were flickering crazy.

"Blossoming."

"Being chosen is so lucky."

"...Things will go back to normal."

Agatha finished as Brill blew a streamer.

"CAN EVERYONE JUST STOP!?"

Rudy yelled as lights stopped flickering.

"Dad, this isn't a good thing, Sam, I'm going to strangle you with my tail! And Mom, I can't! I just can't right now!"

He said angrily going up stairs while his family watch him.

"Well he forgot to do me."

Brill pointed out.

"I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU!!"

Rudy shouted coming back down then back up, he went into his room, slamming the door, screaming into a bean bag and fell on it.

"Well, why can't we just talk about it?"

"Because it doesn't matter. And keep it down, Brill."

Rudy heard his Mom and Uncle argue, he opened his door and went down to eavesdrop on them.

"Sis, if I can find you, then it's only a matter of time before the rest of the sky does too."

"I can handle this on my own!"

"Just come home and talk to her! She wants to help Rudy."

"She never just helps though, does she?"

Agatha scoffed.

"At least tell Rudy the whole truth, he has to know."

"Rudy's life is on land now Brill, I know you mean well, but you need to stop. Go home and let me take care of my Son."

Agatha said pushing Brill out the door.

"Aggie..."

Brill was interrupted as Agatha closed the door on him who then left, hearing everything from above, Rudy was even more disappointed.

"I can't believe Mom is still hiding things from me."

Nessie then barfed up a Streamer, causing Rudy to gasp and giving him an idea.

"Nessie, you tiny genius! That guy can't hide anything."

He said as he got up and leave and Nessie ate the streamer again.
