Beyond the labyrinth of Demanitus, after a forest and a valley, there is a kingdom: the Dark Kingdom. Despite the name, this kingdom is not inhabited by bad people, but by good people and because real life happens at night when the moon and stars light up in the darkness.

In the streets of the capital, people danced and played festive tunes, and everyone enjoyed themselves, including the Dark King and his three knights and dearest friends.

King Edmund, though calling himself the Dark King, was a wise, kind, and generous ruler, adored and respected by his subjects.

The King was walking through the streets full of festoons, and he saw Quirin and Hector of the Brotherhood strutting around with some girls. Adira, who was behind Edmund, gave him a kazoo and suggested, smirking, to scare them, she had one too. Edmund and Adira sneaked up on the two and played the kazoos loud enough to make the two whimpers, making both the girls they were talking to laugh, Edmund, Adira and even themselves. Quirin and Hector greeted the girls and made their way to the castle with their sister and King.

Edmund really considered the Brotherhood part of his family, and he wasn't the only one who thought so. The other people who saw them as such were his beloved wife, Queen Selena along with their little Prince Horace, all of them filled his life with happiness and laughter.

The four were happily watching from the door of the room of the six-year-old prince who was lovingly rocked by the Queen in a rocking chair while she sang him a lullaby to put him to sleep. "The night is coming, with its bright stars." The Prince held on tight to his mother as she rose from her chair and began to dance gently. "And together with its shining moon, which illuminating with its light helps us and guides us, becoming a lighthouse in the dark." The Queen finished the lullaby as she laid the little sleeping Prince in his bed, tucked him in and wished him goodnight as she left the room with her husband and the Brotherhood.

There was no doubt. The King and Queen loved each other much more than is possible to love, and Edmund never missed an opportunity to give her wonderful gifts.

The two rulers were seated at the foot of a huge statue of a Dark King of the past. At that moment, Edmund gave Selena a package that she opened it, and she found a medallion with a portrait of her, Edmund, and Horace on it, and on the back, there was an S and an E surrounded by a heart. The Queen adored her husband's gift. The King and Queen looked up and happily watched their people partying and having fun.

Edmund and Selena looked back lovingly and were about to kiss; however, they were interrupted by a chuckle from their little son spying on them. Edmund, with a mischievous grin, made coded gestures with his hands to Quirin, Adira, and Hector, suggesting they surprise Horace. The Prince, seeing that his parents and the Brotherhood had noticed him, put himself back behind the tree from which he was watching them, giggling. Horace was so focused on laughing, he didn't notice that his father and his knights were sneaking behind him until he felt his father's arms playfully wrapped around him, at which time he jokingly struck his father's face, the King and the Brotherhood ran after him laughing, the Queen also laughed, she loved to see her husband and their friends play with Horace.

However, that joyful moment was interrupted by an imminent catastrophe.

While Edmund and Horace were still playing, the Prince stumbled when the earth began to shake. Edmund picked him up and heard a noise he didn't like, and suddenly they popped up: black rocks, destructive creations of the Moonstone. "Run!" Shouted Edmund to his people as he handed his son over to Quirin, who took him along with Adira and Hector. Everyone ran away frightened, Edmund and Selena helped those left behind; however, in the confusion Selena, lost herself and when black rocks came against her, it was too late to save herself.

Later after the funeral, Edmund read the sadness and despair in his son's eyes and promised that it would all be resolved. That same night, Edmund was in the throne room with Quirin and Adira, when he ran into the Moonstone room to try to destroy it, Horace ran after him and took him by the cloak, begging his father not to do so, but Edmund did not listen to him and when he tried to destroy the stone he failed. There was an explosion that sent Edmund and Horace back, both buried under fragments of the castle, Horace was worse off than his father and was taken to the infirmary. Edmund, Quirin, Adira and Hector were anxiously waiting outside the infirmary and after ten minutes the doctor came out and gave them a terrible news: Horace lost his memory. Edmund felt as if the world had collapsed on him: his son had no memory because of him, even the three knights were devastated by the loss of the prince.

Later, the doctor said that he had already prepared a vial to give it back to him, but Edmund reluctantly decided not to do so and made the difficult decision to send him away as far as possible. He evacuated the kingdom to everyone: his people, the castle staff and even his knights who he asked them to take him to a safe place far away. The Brotherhood tried to change his mind, but he made his decision. And so, Edmund with a heavy heart, saw his last most precious possession, his only son, now devoid of memories, vanish into the night.

The three knights took him to an orphanage and watched from afar until another child approached Horace and made friends. Hector and Adira vanished into the forest and went in different directions, both with sad expressions on their faces. Quirin was the last one to look a little further. "Farewell, little prince. I wonder if one day you'll remember your family and how much we loved you." A few minutes later, he left too, with tears in his eyes.
