patrickpopp thanks for your kind words and understanding!
FYI I started a separate fic for Anthony and Erin called wait for it "Anthony and Erin" LOL.
Feel free to check it out and I didn't plan on this happening but the stories are intersecting each other.
Case in point this next scene. Enjoy…
ABIGAIL'S CHECKUP
Abigail was happy to be reporting to her last rehab session. At least for a few months.
It didn't hurt anymore to lift her shoulder and she certainly felt healed up enough now for her wedding night.
Which she couldn't believe was a mere three days away.
The last several weeks had flown by.
Frank had politely asked her if she wouldn't mind a traditional Catholic wedding at his church and she was happy to accommodate him.
It meant a lot to him and the Reagan family and Abigail had never prescribed to a specific denomination. She and Frank saw eye to eye when it came to the beliefs and that was all that really mattered anyway.
They had agreed on a simple honeymoon for now. Their schedules were too erratic to go anywhere outside of the city so they decided on a stay at the Plaza Hotel by Central Park.
Surprisingly, Erin of all people had sent her a text that morning.
We need to talk.
Cryptic to say the least.
She had told Erin she had her final rehab checkup this morning and Erin had said she would come along with her.
Even more surprising.
"I figured we would have plenty of time to talk considering how long doctors make you wait," Erin explained when Abigail got led to the inner waiting room.
She laughed, "Yeah good point. So uh…what did you need to talk about?" She said feeling some nervous trepidation.
Erin sighed and sat across from her in the hard plastic chair. She put her hand to her forehead and said, "I um…I couldn't get what you said out of my head…"
Abigail stared back at her blankly not knowing what she meant.
"About Anthony…about making the moves…
Abigail nodded and she continued. "Well anyway," she threw her hands in the air. "I made the moves on him…"
"What?!" Abigail looked back at her in shock.
"Shhh!" Erin paused to see if any nurses were going to come bursting in the door.
"Sorry. I mean oh my goodness…tell me! What happened?" She leaned in excited to hear the story.
"Well let's just say, we were put into an extremely awkward and dark situation…"
"Go on…"
"Literally dark I mean. We got stuck in a supply closet together. With a broken light."
Abigail put a hand to cover her mouth as she burst out laughing.
"So you made the moves?"
Erin turned as red as a ripe tomato. "Yes! I was curious, okay?" She shook her head. "I don't know this feels so crazy. I mean we work together, he's my best friend…but in that closet…"
"Sooo you kissed him and…"
"And it was freaking hot." Erin spilled it out.
"Geez, I can't believe I'm telling you all of this. I haven't told anyone. But I had to. Especially since you were the one that guessed something was there…And now it's been two days and Anthony and I haven't talked about it all. It's just been extremely awkward."
Abigail nodded sympathetically. "Well, what was his reaction, initially?"
"I think I freaked him out," Erin laughed. "BUUUT he didn't pull away either. He seemed to enjoy it. But now I don't know what to do. I think it may have been a mistake."
"Hm. Well clearly if he was into it, Erin, he has similar feelings about you. Or else he would have just pushed you away."
"Yes I guess you're right. Did you ever regret saying anything to my Dad, you know, about your Dream?"
Abigail blushed. "Oh I regretted it instantly. I seem to have a big mouth around him. Everything just comes out whether I want it to or not."
They both laughed together at that.
"But I'm glad it came up and I certainly wouldn't trade that moment of embarrassment for what has transpired and where we are now," She smiled as she looked down at her sparkling diamond engagement ring.
"I see," Erin said thoughtfully as she mulled over what to do.
"I definitely think you should talk to him. I'm sure he wants to," Abigail smiled at her encouragingly.
"Ah you're right, I know."
All of a sudden they heard a knock at the door. Thinking it was her doctor Abigail said, "Come in."
In walked the Commissioner in a stunning jet black suit with white pinstripes and a bright blue tie.
"Hey you," Abigail warmed in his presence.
"Hey, I didn't know Erin was here with you. I wanted to check on you. Make sure you're fit for duty."
"Well I actually have to head back to the office," Erin said as she gave her Father a quick kiss on the cheek. "See you both later."
"Keep me posted!" Abigail shouted after her as she went down the hall.
The Commissioner leaned over her where she was seated.
"What does that mean?" he asked her huskily as he stared her down through his thin rimmed glasses.
"Um…girl talk." She laughed nervously.
He nodded happy to not be a part of it and gave her a light kiss on the lips.
Abigail felt her temperature rise as she had lately taken to becoming like a giggling schoolgirl around the Commissioner.
All that had been on her mind lately was her and him.
Together.
Alone.
On their wedding night.
She knew she was blushing right now as he searched her eyes.
His eyes twinkled back at her. "So do we expect a 'right as rain' kind of checkup?"
"Yes sir," she said as she broke off giggling.
"What's gotten into you?" he said as he trailed a finger down the side of her cheek.
She blushed a darker shade and tried to avert her eyes down.
"S'nothing. Just excited is all."
"Mmhmm," he lifted her chin so that her eyes would meet his. The air was crackling with electricity and he paused before he spoke again.
"Me too."
Abigail shivered at the intense look of desire he gave her.
"I know your doctor is probably going to walk in on us like everyone else in the free world…" He chuckled, "But I don't care," he grabbed her in his arms and kissed her deeply.
Abigail felt dizzy, high, and completely turned on all at the same time. She melted in his embrace, and as he moved his hands to her waist she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Just a few more nights," she whispered breathlessly.
"I'm counting the minutes," he said as he pulled away. "But believe me Baker, it is taking every ounce of my willpower not to ravish you here in this hospital waiting room." He smiled devilishly at her.
She giggled again.
And the next knock was indeed the doctor who gave her a good report.
"You're ok to pursue your normal activities again. And just be careful exerting yourself," the female doctor winked at her knowing about their engagement and Abigail promptly started giggling like a little girl again at that.
