The two weeks of Christmas vacation went by really fast. The New Year started and the Professors were ready to teach the students again. Katie called her friends and planned a sleepover before returning to school. An all girls sleepover, where they can gossip, talk about their vacation and Katie had something important to tell them. She was also happy they all agreed to attend.

Katie went over to the door, opened it and saw her friends on the other side, ready with sleeping bags and their overnight bags. "Come in, come in!" She got out of their way and they entered the house. She closed the door, locking it and took their coats. "Thank you everyone for coming, I know we'll have a lot of fun!" She grinned.
Layla grinned. "I'm excited, Katie."
Michelle smiled. "Yeah, me too."
"I'm just excited to chill with my friends." Magenta pointed out.
Sophie and James entered the living room where the girls were standing around. "Alright girls, we're off to a party and we'll be back later. You all have my number in case of an emergency or if Colin shows up." Sophie told them.
"I'll literally be there in a second." James told them.
"He's not going to come, is he?" Layla asked.
"Don't worry, your parents know you're here right?" Sophie said. "And I told Steve and Josie about the sleepover so if anything, you can call them as well."
"At least you'll be back home later, right?" Katie put out there. "And you'll be sleeping here."
"Exactly." James kissed his daughter's forehead. "If anything should happen, you girls can use your powers to protect yourselves." He smiled. "Alright then, girls. You let us know if there is anything, alright?"
Sophie did the same. "Have fun, sweetheart."
As they said their goodbyes, Sophie and James left the house, locking the door behind them.
Katie turned back to her friends. "Alright guys, let's get your bags to my room. We'll be sleeping there." She said. "And we can change into our pajamas." She led the way to her room, going up the stairs.
The other girls followed her.
Magenta raised a brow. "How big is your room?"
"Well, there were two bedrooms upstairs next to each other, but since it was just me, Mom and Dad decided to do a little renovation and combine both rooms." Katie explained.
"Shit, really?" Magenta wondered.
Katie laughed. "Yeah."
While the girls set up their sleeping bags, Katie smiled. She was happy they were all together again. It took some time for Magenta and Michelle to forgive Katie and not be mad with her anymore. She was excited they agreed to the sleepover. She also had something important to tell the girls, a bit scared of how they were going to react.

After a fun night of watching movies, eating snacks, playing board games and wearing face masks, the girls headed to Katie's room and started getting ready for bed. Once each girl was finished with their nighttime routine, they snuggled into their sleeping bags.
12:00AM shone on the alarm clock near Katie's bed.
"Well this night just passed by super-fast." Magenta commented, getting settled into her sleeping bag.
"I'll say. This was so much fun, now it's already over!" Michelle sighed, fluffing her pillow.
"Don't worry, girls. We can always do this again!" Layla reminded them.
"That's true." Katie smiled, getting into her bed.
"Oh yes, this was very much needed." Michelle nodded, agreeing. "We need to have many more of these."
"At my place, next time!" Layla grinned.
"Then mine?"
"And at mine!"
The three other girls noticed Katie was silent and all looked at her at the same time.
"Katie? Are you okay? You've been quiet for a while." Layla told her.
Katie hugged the stuffed bear that was on her bed. "Guys…well, there is something I wanted to tell you for some time now. And it's one reason why I planned this sleepover in the first place." She explained. "I wanted to tell you girls all at once and with none of the guys around."
Michelle took apart her messy bun, hair cascading down her back. "What?"
Magenta undid her braids, ruffling her hair. "Must be something big then." She noted. She was glad to have been talking to Katie again. It took a while for her to forgive Katie and she was glad to be back.
Layla tucked her hair behind her ear. "What is it?"
Katie took a deep breath. "I…well…there's..." She blushed. "A boy…" She paused. Magenta was mad at her when she told Lash and Speed the news about her family before her and she understood. How was she going to react when she told Magenta…that she was in love with Lash?
"I have a feeling I know what this is…" Layla spoke up. From what she had seen pass between her friend and Lash on Christmas.
"Are you in love?" Michelle asked. She noticed Katie's body language. Blushing, quiet, hesitation.
Katie just nodded slowly. "I…have to tell you guys something and I'm scared on how you'd react and this is important for me to tell you girls. You're my friends!"
"Katie just tell us." Magenta said, growing impatient.
"I'm in love with Lash." Katie said quickly before she could back herself out of it.
This didn't surprise Layla. She had seen how different Katie was around Lash and how he acted around her. She caught them kissing.
"Wow, really?" Michelle was surprised.
"Really?! Him of all people?! First, telling him your story before us and now this?"
"Maj!" Michelle and Layla exclaimed in unison.
"He's changed! A lot."
"I can second that." Layla said. "He's caring when it comes to her and protective. I would see that when they were together."
"When?" Michelle asked.
"At Christmas, he would rush when she needed help." Layla explained. "And in the cafeteria that time…helping Katie, he was careful holding her and Katie's face was all red…but only when Lash was holding her." She said. "He was embarrassed too."
"The winter wonderland dance…" Michelle remembered how Katie and Lash shared a dance.
"When I ran out, he came looking for me. We talked on the stairs and I gave him a kiss on the cheek before going inside." Katie's cheeks were rosy as she was telling her story.
"Oh that's so cute!"
"There was a time in the library where I was high up on a ladder getting a book and the ladder wobbled and I got scared and fell and he caught me." Katie was explaining. "We had a moment where we just stared in each other's eyes."
"Wow. You had so many moments and didn't tell us about what happened."
"I was afraid of how you guys would react. I know you're not exactly a fan." Katie admitted.
Magenta let out a sigh. "Look, I know I was pissed at you before and I do hate the fact that you love him."
Katie's face fell and she looked crestfallen. "R…Right…"
"But…" Magenta continued.
Katie looked at her, waiting to hear what she has to say.
"I hate that we were apart that long because of what happened before Christmas break." Magenta told her. "We weren't even together during the dance. It sucked and I hate that our friend group was separated."
Katie nodded in agreement. "I hated being alone at the dance. Getting ready alone and going there alone sucked. I saw Layla and we hugged and went to dance…I just…" Tears formed in her eyes. "…wanted everyone to be together."
Michelle went over and gave her a hug. "I'm sorry, Katie. I missed us altogether too."
"I understand that you guys were mad at me but it just sucked. I should have told you everything sooner. I'm sorry." Katie hugged her back, sniffling.
"Friends get mad at each other and I'm still a little mad at what happened but I miss our little group." Magenta said. "I don't want to go back to school and we have to eat and hang out separately."
Layla nodded. "I'd hate that."
"We have to also talk to the guys and hopefully they understand." Michelle said, pulling away from her.
"About Lash?!"
"No…about forgiving you."
"You don't have to forgive me. You have every right to be angry with me." Katie said.
"I am angry but I'll forgive you. I could see there was an intention behind it." Magenta said. "It wasn't easy for you to talk about your super villain father."
"It wasn't! How do you tell your friends that your biological father is super villain?" Katie asked.
"I'm upset too but I'll forgive you. There was intention behind it and Katie…when I started dating Warren and hanging out with the group, you welcomed me with open arms." Michelle told her.
Katie smiled at them, wiping a tear away.
Layla was happy to see this.
"Thank you for forgiving me. I will change too, I will tell you anything important from now on. As soon as it happens, you'll know." Katie said. "I have nothing to add about my family. It's like I told you…Sophie and James are my aunt and uncle but they adopted me which makes them my mom and dad. My biological mother was killed by my biological father who is a super villain."
"And you're in love with Lash."
"…And that I'm in love with Lash." Katie blushed at that. "Please let me tell the boys…somehow. I haven't figured it out yet."
"Alright."
Katie took a deep breath. "Also, I did kiss him."
"What?!"
"3 times."
"WHAT?!"
"3 TIMES?!"
"It was Christmas; mistletoe was there…it was in the moment!"
"It's true, I caught them once."
"What?!"
"I told you I would share things with you and this happened." Katie said.
"What are you going to do about Lash?" Layla asked.
"I have no idea."
"Why don't you ask to be friends first?" Michelle suggested. "Once you guys are friends, you can go out together and then you profess your love."
"That's a good idea." Layla agreed.
Katie nodded. "I can…do that."
"I have one thing to say though and I will do if this happens." Magenta told them.
"What?"
"I will punch Lash in the face if he hurts you."
…
…
…
Katie started laughing. Layla started too. Soon, Michelle and Magenta joined in.
"You would totally do that." Katie said, after the laughing died down.
"Oh, I'm going to." Magenta said. "If he hurts you, he's getting punched."
Katie went over to give her a hug. "Thank you, Magenta."
Magenta wrapped her arms around her. "Don't mention it."
