Chapter 9: Glass Child


In the Loud House, Lisa was in the kitchen making something to eat, specifically, she was making a PP&J Sandwich. She and Lily were the only ones home as everyone else was doing something else. Lisa continued getting the things she needed and began making the sandwich, she heard the front door open and then slam shut. While it shocked her for a bit, she assumed it was Either Lola or Lana, but when she didn't hear anything, she was somewhat suspicious. However, that's when she heard Lily greet them

"Lincoln!" Lily cried.

Lisa smiled, glad to know it was only her brother and that everything was-

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

Hearing her youngest sibling scream, Lisa put everything down and quickly ran into the living room, once she arrived in the living room, she saw Lily with a terrified look and grabbing Lincoln, who was just hitting himself over the head with his fists.

"Lincoln! Lincoln what's wrong!? A-Are you ok!? What's wrong!?" Lily cried.

Lincoln wasn't responding, he simply muttered to himself as he kept hitting himself over the head as hard as he could, which was beginning to scare Lisa.

"Lincoln!" Lisa called out to him.

Hearing her voice, Lincoln turned around to look at her and when he did, Lisa saw why Lily was so scared and why she asked if he was okay. When Lisa looked at her brother, she saw Lincoln bleeding from his eyes and nose.

"L-Lincoln...?" Lisa called out to her brother, her tone laced with worry and terror. "What... What happened?" Lisa asked as she slowly approached her brother.

Lincoln then glares at her as he keeps bleeding from his eyes and nose, "What... did... you do...?" Lincoln asked, his tone full of anger.

Lisa's terror began to rise as she looked at her brother, "Wh-What are you-?"

"DON'T FUCKING LIE TO ME!" Lincoln cried as he walked over to her. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME LISA!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?" Lincoln cried as the blood from his eyes and nose grew.

Lisa was frozen in shock as she realized just how dire the situation was. However, how did this all come to be?

It all started earlier that day...

Lincoln had left the house and told his parents that he was going to hang out with Taylor and they said they and some of his other sister would be out as well and Lincoln bid them goodbye. Eventually, he met up with Taylor and they greeted each other with a quick kiss and Taylor then told him what part of town they were going to and where this Hypnotist was. After taking a bus and then getting off and walking a few minutes to an apartment complex, they walked toward it and went to an apartment that was numbered "4".

Lincoln looked at Taylor with a raised brow, "This is where your hypnotist lives?"

Taylor turned to him with a smirk, "What? Expecting an office?" Taylor asked.

Lincoln shrugged, "Kinda," he replied.

Taylor chuckled, "Well, her room's her office, and let me tell you, despite being our age, she's pretty good," Taylor said.

"She's our age?" Lincoln asked with a raised brow.

Taylor didn't answer and simply knocked on the door after a few seconds passed. The door opened and Lincoln was surprised to see who had opened the door.

"Persephone?" Lincoln asked.

Persephone was a girl who was a part of Lucy's Mortician's club and Lincoln usually saw her wearing her navy blue Victorian dress, holding her purple parasol, and her hair styled in a bun, however, she appeared to be wearing what appeared to be a spiderweb patterned onesie with her hair a bit messy and curly. She appeared to have a bowl of cereal in her hand and looked tired.

Persephone looked at Lincoln and Taylor with a raised brow, "What brings you guys here?"

Taylor pointed her thumb at Lincoln. "He needs to reawaken some possibly repressed memories," Taylor said.

Persephone looked at Lincoln with a raised brow "Repressed memories?" She asked.

Lincoln shrugged, "They began as nightmares but they started getting more vivid, like memories," Lincoln said, "But I don't know if it's just nightmares or actual repressed memories," He told her.

Persephone nodded, "You're lucky I'm free today," She said, "And I'm bored, so come in," She told the two.

Lincoln and Taylor walked in and Lincoln looked at Taylor, "So, how did you and she become friends?" he asked.

Taylor looked back at him with a smile, "I heard Persephone could do hypnosis and I also heard it could possibly get rid of a person's fear, so I had her hypnotize me into believing I wasn't afraid of spiders and it worked, haven't been afraid since," Taylor said with a smile.

"So you think she can hypnotize me into remembering if these nightmares are actually repressed memories?" Lincoln asked.

Persephone turned back to him after taking a bite from her cereal, "Hypnosis can't make you do anything," Persephone said, "The Media portrays it as some sort of mind control but that's not how it works, in reality, hypnosis can't make you do anything you don't want to do, so if put under hypnosis, and someone asked you to rob a bank or kill a person, you wouldn't do it because that's not what you want to do,"

Lincoln understood what Persephone was getting at, "So the only reason Taylor's hypnosis worked is because she wanted to get rid of her fear of spiders?"

Persephone nodded, "See, Hypnosis makes it easier to experience suggestions but doesn't force you to have certain experiences, for example, I can't implant any memories or make you act against your will," Persephone said. "So, if you want to know of these nightmares of yours are really repressed memories, then you need to make sure you want to know or else it won't work," She told him.

Lincoln looked at her and nodded, "I get it, and I... I do want to find out, I need answers," Lincoln said.

Persephone smiled, "Good, then this should be easier," She said.

Finally, they arrived at Persephone's room and when they reached it, they saw that the room was just as dark and gothic as Lucy's was.

"Alright, lay down on my bed while I get what I need," Persephone said.

Lincoln did as she was told and Taylor stood next to the bed while Persephone set down her cereal bowl and looked through a drawer.

Taylor turned to Lincoln, "You sure you're up for this?" She asked.

Lincoln nodded, "Of course, I'm here aren't I?" He said, "Besides, wasn't this your idea?" he asked.

Taylor nodded, "It was but I just don't want these memories to... hurt you," she said, "Like break your mind or something... I don't know if I could handle that," She told him.

Lincoln smiled at her concern, finding it cute that she worried about him, "Hey, I'll be fine, I promise," he said.

"Ah, found it," they heard Persephone say.

Persephone then came toward the two and in her hand was a metronome, ya know, that one gizmo that was in the insidious movies that helped them get into the further.

Persephone holds the metronome in her hands and looked at Lincoln, "I'm going to use this to hypnotize you, but right now, take a few deep breaths in,"

Lincoln did as Persephone said and took 3 deep breaths before exhaling.

"Good, now just relax and try to clear your mind,"

Lincon did as she told and relaxed his body and tried to clear his head, trying not to focus on anything, which slowly worked.

"Now, I'm going to swing the Pendulum and I want you to focus on the clicks you hear while I count down," Persephone told him.

She then flicked the pendulum and it swung side to side, making the clicks as it did, and Lincoln focused on them, with his body relaxed and his mind clear, she felt at extreme ease, it was as if he was drifting off to sleep.

"I'm going to count down from 10 and when I finish and snap my fingers you'll remember everything that you wish to remember, okay, Lincoln?"

"Ok," Lincoln said, his voice sounding calm yet tired.

Persephone nodded, "10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1" With the countdown complete, Persephone snapped her fingers and Lincoln was still for a moment.

Suddenly, Lincoln seemed to tense up and she began to shiver. Persephone and Taylor looked at him with worry and that's when Lincoln began to form a pained expression on his face and he seemed to be in true agony.

"Stop... Please... I-I don't want to be out here anymore!" Lincoln cried in his hypnotized state. His face morphs into extreme pain.

"What's happening!?" Taylor asked.

Persephone looked at the scene with shock, "This never happened before!" She cried.

Lincoln then gripped Persephone's sheets and began to shake violently. "PLEASE! PLEASE LET ME BACK IN! I-I'M SCARED! I DON'T WANT TO BE OUTSIDE ANYMORE!" Lincoln cried as blood began to drizzle down his nose.

Taylor's eyes went wide and she looked at Persephone, "W-Wake him up!" Taylor cried.

Persephone quickly nodded and looked at Lincoln, "Lincoln! When I count down from 10, you're going to wake up!" She cried, "10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" Persephone then snapped her fingers.

With the snap, Lincoln's eyes widened and he jumped off the bed and fell to the floor, but he held to his eyes and screamed in pain. "AAAAHHHH!" Lincoln cried, "Why!? WHY!? WHY!? What the hell did she do to me!? WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THIS TO ME LISA!?" Lincoln cried.

Taylor rushed over to him and bent down to help him. "Lincoln! Lincoln!" Taylor cried. "Are you ok!? What's...!"

However, when she saw his face, Taylor stopped herself as horror entered her body and she saw that now Lincoln wasn't just bleeding from his nose anymore, he was bleeding from his eyes!

Lincoln looked at Taylor and he pushed her away, "Get the hell away from me!" He cried before he quickly got up and looked around the entire room.

Persephone was so shocked and terrified at the situation that she backed away from Lincoln in fear he might hurt her. However, when she looked at him closer, she saw that he looked like a scared wild animal, looking for an exit.

Lincoln's eyes darted to the door and he quickly ran for it.

Taylor sat up and saw him run out of the room as quickly as he could and her eyes widened with fear. "Linc!" Taylor cried as she got to her feet.

However, he was already gone.

Taylor looked at Persephone with a bewildered expression, "What the hell happened!?"

Persephone could barely speak, but she tried, "I-I don't know!" She said. "Something about the memories must have triggered... whatever that was, I've helped people with their memories before but nothing like this ever happened!" Persephone cried.

Taylor instantly thought about what could've caused but she couldn't, but right now, she needed to also think about where Lincoln was running off to. However, she then suddenly remembered that Lincoln had named one of his sisters before he ran off, and realizing where he was going, she knew nothing good was going to happen.

Taylor looked at Persephone, "I-I'm sorry Persephone, but I have to go after him! He's heading back home!" She cried.

"Go! Don't worry about anything else, just make sure he's ok!" She told Taylor, "He may do something he regrets!"

Taylor nodded and ran out of the room and then the apartment and ran toward Lincoln's home, however, she hoped she would see him while she ran down the room, but she didn't and that made her more terrified as he either just ran off in another direction or he took another route him, however, she heading toward his house in the direction she knew and prayed she got there in time or before he did.

Back in the present, Lincoln walked over to Lisa with a glare, blood still slowly dripping from his nose and mouth.

Lisa backed up a little, frightened as she had never seen her brother in such a state before. "Lincoln... I don't know-"

"DON'T BULLSHIT ME LISA!" Lincoln cried. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME LISA!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?" Lincoln cried again.

Lisa then gestured for him to calm down, "Lincoln, please, you are not in the correct state of mind, please calm down before you do something irrational," Lisa told him.

However, it seemed that those words only pissed him off more as she charged at Lisa, and he grabbed her lab coat and slammed her against the wall, and even lifted her off the ground.

"STOP FUCKING WITH ME! NO MORE MIND GAMES!" Lincoln cried, "TELL ME WHAT YOU DID! TELL ME WHAT YOU DID TO ME! I NEED TO KNOW! I NEED TO KNOW IF ALL OF THIS IS A LIE!" He yelled.

Lisa looked at her brother and she could feel the pain in her back as well as the fear inside of her begin to grow. "Lincoln... Listen to me, you need to put me down right now," She told her brother, "Put me down, and I'll explain everything, and I promise... I'll fix everything," She told him.

Hearing those words, Lincoln's eyes widened with terror.

he was strapped down to that table... Lisa stood over him... she looked emotionless...

"I'll fix everything, dear brother, and everything can go back to Normal... I promise..." She told him.

Fear first flowed through the boy, but then that fear turned into anger...

Lincoln's expression was now beyond furious, as he glared at the 2nd youngest Loud girl, he pulled her away from the wall only to slam her back into it and he heard Lisa cry out in pain. "YOU CAN'T FUCKING FIX THIS!" Lincoln yelled at her, "I DON'T NEED TO BE FIXED! DO YOU HEAR ME! I DON'T NEED TO BE FIXED! I NEED TO KNOW OF THIS IS REAL!"

"Lincoln! Please!" Lisa cried with tears forming in her eyes.

Lincoln didn't care about the terrified expression on his younger sister's face, the anger inside of him was just too powerful and he wanted her to hurt, he wanted Lisa to feel the pain he was feeling right now. So he pulled her away from the wall and then he threw her toward the Strairs and there was a loud crack and Lisa screamed out in pain.

Lisa had felt her arm break and the situation only got worse as Lily began to cry in fear, not knowing what was going on and terrified out of her mind. Lily cried out for help, as every kid her age did when they felt scared and in danger.

However, Lincoln's rage didn't disappear, he walked over to Lisa, wanting to hurt her more, wanting her to feel the pain he had been feeling at this moment, but before he could, the front door opened and Taylor saw what he was doing and saw Lisa on the stairs with tears in her eyes and she quickly tackled him and they both fell to the ground hard.

Tears were in the eyes of the girl as she tried to stop the white-haired boy from hurting his sister or worse, himself. "LINCOLN! LINCOLN YOU NEED TO STOP! LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING!"

However, Lincoln pushed her off of him and he stood to his feet, but as he did, he winced in pain and clutched his head. "Y-Y-YOU KNEW...! D-DIDN'T YOU!? YOU KNEW TAYLOR!" Lincoln cried as he grabbed his hair and pain flowed through his head.

Taylor looked up at him with a horrified and sad expression, "LINCOLN! LISTEN TO ME! I SWEAR TO GOD I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! I PROMISE YOU!" Taylor cried.

Lincoln glared at her, "LIER! YOU KNEW! THAT'S WHY YOU BECAME FRIENDS WITH ME! LISA TOLD YOU TO DO IT! YOU AND HER WANTED TO PUT ME BACK IN THE TABLE!" Lincoln cried.

Tears fell from her eyes as she looked at the boy she loved, "Lincoln... please!" Taylor cried.

Lincoln began to sob as the pain in his head grew and he hit himself, "I-I don't... I can't... I-I... Is this real!?" Lincoln asked. "A-Are my memories of you even real...?" He asked.

Taylor nodded rapidly, "Of course they are!" She cried. "L-Lincoln I promise you! This is real! WE are real!" She said, gesturing between him and her.

Lincoln shook his head, "No! No! No! I-I don't know! E-Everything is mixed up! EVERYTHING IS SCREWED UP!" He cried, "I-I'm screwed up..." he muttered.

Finally, everything seemed to calm down inside of him, but when he finally heard Lily crying, his heart stopped and he saw her crying and hiding behind Taylor, he then saw Lisa breathing heavily as she gripped her now broken arm and tears fell down her face.

He looked a his hands as they were covered in blood, his own blood, but that was enough to shake him and suddenly, he felt dizzy and sick, he backed up and looked at Taylor and held out his hand before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell to the ground.

"Jesus Christ! Lincoln!" Taylor cried as she ran over to make sure he was okay.

Taylor picked him up and saw that he seemed to be dazed and out of it.

"I'm not... I'm not..." He muttered.

"SHH! Take it easy!" Taylor cried.

"I-I'm not b-bad luck... I'm not bad luck... p-please... I-I'm scared..." Lincoln said as his eyes slowly began to close.

Seeing this and fearing the worst, Taylor shook him, "HEY! HEY! LINCOLN! STAY WITH ME! STAY WITH ME!" She cried as the tears flowed faster.

However, the boy's eyes closed and Taylor feared for the worse and she shook him again, trying to wake him up and calling out his name. Nothing was working and fearing the worst Taylor put her ear to his chest and that's when her heart dropped.

There was no heartbeat.

Taylor quickly set Linciln down, and simply remembering what she heard in health class, she began CPR, begging him to come back and to wake up, she kept up the CPR, but it didn't seem to work. Lily stood next to her and watched the scene, tears falling from her eyes and she was scared about everything going on, she may not completely understand what was going on, but she knew, deep down, that it wasn't good.

Taylor cried and begged for Lincoln to wake up and from her spot, Lisa looked in horror as she saw the scene before her and the whole world went silent.

Only one thought came to the young genius's mind as tears fell down her face...

'What have I done!?' She cried to herself.

From this moment forward, things would change forever and it wasn't good for the Louds...

Wow, I just left you guys with a cliffhanger huh? Well guess you guys are going to have to wait till the next chapter to find out what happens!

I will say this, the story is far from over and things will be kind of worse for a while before things really start to heal.
