Summary: Takes place during the episode Aqua. Clark's thoughts after seeing Lois and AC kissing.
He can't believe what he just saw. What was she thinking? She didn't know anything about this guy. How could she really be kissing him, and in the middle of his living room no less. The very thought of it made him feel a bit queasy to his stomach. He thought she had better judgment. Yet, all it took was an athletic body and a charming smile and she's completely lost her mind. Like how could she be so careless, kissing a random stranger like that: What if his parents had walked in? Actually, that thought makes him wish they had then there definitely would be no way this guy would be back around here. He just never pegged her for the gullible type. He had to feed her some line of some sort. There is no way she would just go for this guy. He doesn't even seem like her type, to be honest he doesn't even know her type just assumed she didn't have one. No one ever seemed good enough to impress the unimpressible Lois Lane. So again he asks why him?
First, the guy seemed seriously egotistical and cocky. The arrogance of him is just beyond him, and the fact that she would choose a guy like that makes no sense whatsoever. As much as it pains him to say Lois is usually not so easily persuaded. He has seen guys hit on her before, but usually all it takes is one line and they never try again. Lois with her sharp tongue never gives them much of a chance. Yet, he just found her all over some guy she just met. How did they even reconnect? He was sure he would never see him again, and he was certain he would never find him here like this with her. If it hadn't been for his ability to swim so fast this would have never happened as he wouldn't have come close to her in the first place. He just can't imagine what made her fall for his charms. He begins imagining all the different scenarios that took place to make what he saw happen. He starts getting angry all over again thinking that he might have taken advantage of her, that he is preying on her gratitude for saving her life, and using it as some sort of leverage to get close to her.
Suddenly, he is glad he is nowhere near him or he might not be responsible for his actions.
After seeing them together he came out here to the barn to cool off and to figure out exactly what to do to make sure this person is never again found alone on the Kent farm with Lois. This whole thing really makes no sense, like there has to be something wrong with this guy. He can't explain it, just something about him is rubbing him the wrong way. He has to be hiding something, up to something shady, and he is going to get to the bottom of it. He'll call Chloe and have her investigate him. He is sure that she will find something, then he will tell Lois he can't be trusted, and he will swim out of town as fast as he swam in. It's at this point that he wonders why it is bothering him so much. There is no real reason that he should be this upset right now yet he can help how he feels.
Thinking that it is just his way of looking out for a close friend. He would do it for any of his friends yet he can't recall reacting quite like this before. Chalking it up to just knowing that Lois has a knack for getting herself into trouble that it is just him trying to protect her. There is a nagging voice in the back of his head telling him that is not it at all. Choosing to ignore it he focuses back on Arthur Curry. For one, the level of disrespect from this guy in his home, in his living room with his…friend. Determined he sets out on his mission to prove there is something wrong with him. Calling Chloe he tells her of his suspicions as well as about catching him and Lois together. She seems to question what makes him think he can't be trusted, and he says it is just a hunch. He's not sure she buys it but she says she is coming right back over.
Feeling a little better that this whole thing will be over soon he is able to relax some. At least until the image of them kissing pops into his head again. He feels disturbed by the very thought of it yet he knows it happened. Maybe if it was a little kiss he could ignore it, but any longer and he is sure it would have turned into a full blown make out. Hearing something crack he looks down realizing that he just cracked some of the wood on the banister. This also disturbs him for he can't shake the feeling that he might be more than just trying to protect her like he is trying to preserve her, but he is not sure for what reason. Figuring the best way to channel what he is feeling is to prove to her how little she knows about this guy, and that he is bad news. Plus, making sure that Arthur Curry learns once and for all that Lois Lane is off limits.
