I don't know what got me to want to do this. I promise I'm not in a abusive relationship nor do I approve of it, but I don't know. I always imagined Itachi would make it his problem if he ever did anything to Sakura.

During her and Sasuke's relationship, it was more anger than love. More resentment than comfort. And the day Sasuke told Sakura that all she was for him was someone to have a child, she realized their relationship could have been saved.

The sex was… well sex. They only made love once, but Sasuke had to have a lot of drinks before he even thought about doing the deed. Unfortunately, that was on their wedding night.

None of Sakura's friends knew what was going on. She didn't know who to talk to about her marital woes. She didn't have anyone to go to until one day Itachi heard Sakura crying in her and Sasuke's home.

Itachi wasn't really the type of person people went to when they needed help, but when Sakura answered the door with a bruise on her right eye, Itachi knew he had to intervene,

That night Itachi found Sakura, they sat in the kitchen and drank tea. Itachi would never be the one to push something out of someone. Normally, he did things organically and waited for the other person to talk.

"It's not what you think…" Sakura muttered.

Itachi hummed, but didn't say anything.

"It looks like someone hit you in the eye. And what I don't get is why you didn't heal it on your own," The older man had said, swirling the cup of tea heh ad in his hand.

"He really is a good guy," Sakura defended him, trying to force a smile but all she could do was make her bottom lip quiver.

"He isn't as bad as people think." She said, attempting to defend everything that's happening.

Itachi sighed.

"Sakura, I know you don't really like violence, but if i were you and Sasuke punched me in the eye, I would have broken his neck," He said seriously.

What Sakura heard made her look up from her tea, wanting Itachi to give her a bit of a better explanation.

"Yes, we're shinobi, men fight women all the time, but never– and I mean never should a husband hit his wife out of malice."

Sakura began to tear up and told him everything; The idea that Sasuke only wanted Sakura to have a kid, the verban, mental and physical abuse, the sex that only stopped when she threatened to castrate him– all of it.

Itachi listened carefully.

"Has he done this infront of Sarada?"

Sakura just nodded her head.
"But he never laid a hand on her."

Itachi thanked Sakura for the tea, standing up knowing where Itachi would be right now.

Sakura didn't think that Itachi would do anything, so she just let it go, going around to clean the kitchen. Sarada was out on a mission so she wasn't there to listen.

A few hours later, Sakura got a knock on the door. She wrapped a robe about herself and answered the door. The man at the door was a messenger from the hospital, stating that they needed her ASAP, not telling her who it was.

Sakura got dressed and headed straight for the hospital. A nurse handed her the chart and she read the name at the top

Uchiha Sasuke

She took a deep breath and went through the notes from the file.

Ruptured spleen, broken nose, broken ocular cavity, broken left arm and burns to half of his body. And on top of all of that, he was under a pretty deep genjutsu, the same one she remembered Itachi had Put Kakashi under was a nasty one.

She gasped and took a deep breath.
"Why isn't Tsunade or Shizune on this? This is my husband?"

"I don't know. The guy in the ANBU mask asked for you and said something about him deserving this."

Sakura nodded, then it hit her. She told Itachi everything that's been happening lately and she didn't know that Itachi would have done something. Though, lucky for Itachi, Sakura wasn't going to out him for this. She smiled softly and got suited up to fix all she could.

About ten hours later, Sakura made it out of the surgery room, tired with some blood on her face. To get it off, she took a shower and put on a pair or scrubs she had kept at the hospital for her. After everything, she didn't want to but she had to make sure Sasuke was okay. She sat in the room, waiting for him to come to. She was able to cure everything but the burn. She helped mend his skin but wanted it to heal on its own.

It took a couple of hours of her waiting in the room for Sasuke to come to. He turned his head, but then closed his eyes when he noticed it was Sakura,

Sakura sighed, bringing her chair closer.

"How are you feeling?" She asked.

"I'm not allowed to talk to you," Sasuke muttered under her breath.
"And… I'm sorry. I've done a lot of stuff to mask what I'm really feeling…"

That was news to Sakura. For what she knew, he had told her almost everything.

"Look… I don't know you," Sasuke's words hit Sakura in the heart. She began to tear up, but Sasuke chuckled.

"I actually love Naruto. I used you only to appease my family and I took my anger out on you. I promised someone, I will leave you alone. I know it was you who put me back together, but that's it. After I heal, I'm going to admit it to Naruto and see how it goes."

Sakura, indeed, did cry, but not for what they lost. She cried because of what Sasuke could have had. He could have had this happy life but she felt she forced herself on him.

Sakura got up, went to look at the IV bag and patted Sasuke on his good arm.

"I'll start the divorce proceedings. You just… get better. Just know that… I didn't send Itachi after you. He did it himself.

Sasuke scoffed.
"Well, I learned my lesson. If it means anything, I'm sorry."

Sakura didn't say anything. She waved at him over his shoulder before leaving the hospital.

hr"We're going to miss it…"

Sakura poked her head in Itachi's room, a little nervous herself. Itachi looked up at her with a small smile, trying to reassure her.

Itachi got up, messing with his tie when Sakura came into the room and batted his hands away to fix what he messed up with a slight giggle to her voice.

"You know, if you don't want to go, we don't have to…"

Sakura thought to herself for a moment and smiled.

"If I don't go, then I won't support my best friends," Sakura answered his question. She had thought about this wedding for a while, but she couldn't just leave Naruto out to dry when she had her issues with Sasuke, but she was happy he was happy for once.

"I'll be fine. Let's go. She said, reaching out for Itachi's hand as they left the house and headed towards thew wedding venue.
