Forgiveness
One a nice warm day at the beginning of June 1978 Lily sat under the willow at the lakeside and looked onto the wide open and enpty surface of the lake. It was yet far too early in the morning for anyone except her to be out here. Later today many of her classmates would come out here and enjoy a wounderfull sunny day.
I will hide then in the forbiden forest or in the room of requirement so nobody have to see me… Specially him.
She made a fist and thought: This idiot… Why was he not there? I thought he liked me sooo much.
After some moments she stood up and started to walk. She felt like a little walk would improve her mood very much.

The same time Lily sat at the lakeside James stood on the highest tower and thought about what happened the previous day.
Yesterday he and Lily had a first date but he came over one hour too late because something urgent happened. Then when he finally arrived at the meeting point she got very angry and screamed at him. After it she said some unfriendly things and ran away.
He was now very sad and upset. One the one side because he messed up his one chance to have a date with his dream girl and on the other side because of what she said to him after he came to her too late.
I love you soo much Lily! Why did all of this had to happen yesterday?

A few hours later after breakfast Lily went out of the castle and headed to the forbiden forest. This would be ideal to avoid him.
This idiot of a boy … I really liked him but that's now forever over!
She looked around before entereing the forest so nobody would know where she was.

After the breakfast James choose to try to find Lily to talk to her. Maybe she would listen to him and who knew it maybe she would even spend some time with him.
Like a postponed date …
He went into an empty classroom and took the Marauders Map out of his bag and unwrapped it. He whispered: "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!" He seareched the whole castle for Lily but he couldn'd find her. He already nearly gave up when he saw her on the inner edge of the forbiden forest.
There you are … Okay please don't be too mad at me!
He wrapped the map again and put it back in his bag. Then he left the classroom and headed to his dream girl.

Lily was sitting on a fallen tree and looked angryily at her lap. When James asked her a week ago for a date she was very happy and agreed to go out with him. It had been the first time he asked her in the entire year and she was quite relived to see he was still interested in her but then he let her wait for nearly one hour and thirty minutes…
Such an asshole… Why am I even hiding? He deserved the things I called him.
She sobed and made again fists. This time even with both hands.
I feel bad because I called him an 'Asshole' and said that I haited him.
She felt like a tear ran down her cheeks and fell on her lap.
Damit I fell in love with him but he let me wait for soo long obviously he is not truly intrested in me.

While Lily was crying James came closer to the part she hidded. He used the map to find her and stood not much later close by. He even heard her crying. This made him feel much worse and he hesiteded. Should he realy go to her now. Would she even want to see him.
I have to go to her … She is crying because of me. What kind of 'boy-in-love' would I be if I don't go to the girl I love when she is crying.
He took a deep breath and nervously went forward into the forest. Just after a few meters he stood on a small opening and directly in front of him was a fallen tree on whish Lily was sitting.

Lily heared footstepps and the rustleing of leaves. She looked up and got nearly a heart attack because James Potter was standing directly in front of her.
"I'm sorry for surpprising you like this but please listen to me! Don't run away!"
She jumped up and closed her arms in front of her chest. "Why should I want to listen to you?"
He took her hands in his and before she could pull them back he said: "Because I love you and truly am sorry about what happened yesterday!"
She kept her hands for a few moments in his and pulled them then back. "You are sorry? Hmpf… Why did you let me wait so long?"

James asked her: "Can we sit down together? I promise you won't regret this!" Lily narrowed her eyes but agreed. So they sat down next to each other and he started to talk.
When they were both sitting he started by telling from the things that hindered him in coming on time. "First I met Professor McGonagall, she reminded me on a few things we still have to plan for the prom and then I also ran into Professor Slughorn who thought this would be a perfect opptunity to talk with me about my time after Hogwarts. He recommended a dozzen different jobs I should deffintivly aplay for."
Lily interrupted him and asked: "Why didn't you tell him you had an appointment with me?"
James said: "I told him but he wouldn't listen… I said 'Lily is waiting for me' but he kept saying 'She will understand… Your future carier is extreamly important and for this you have your well connected Potions teacher.' After twenty minutes or so I was finaly able to move on."

Lily continued to listen to James' story and although it sounded very absurd she kind of belived him. She wanted to belive him because of her feelings.
Ahh… James! I love you soo much!
After a while James reached the point of time where he finaly reached the front gate of Hogwarts. James stopped here and said: "You know now exactly why I came too late. Please forgive me and let's have our date now instead!"
She observed him a moment then she smiled and said: "I'm also sorry for immediately screaming at you… I should have let you tell me all of this yesterday. Then we could have had our first date under better circumstances."
James asked: "Does this mean you forgive me?"
She said: "Only if you also forgive me!"
James grinned and nodded. "Of course Lily my love… I was not even really angry because of what you said."
She smiled and stood then up. James asked: "Why are you …" He couldn'd continue with his sentence because she sat down on his lap and this caused him to gasp. "Wow Lily… I like this a lot." She giggeled. "Don't get to used too this, I only do this when you are a good boyfriend!"

James couldn'd believe what he just heared and asked immediately: "Boyfriend?" Lily winked and nodded.
"Yes Potter… I'm your girlfriend now… Treat me well and I will also treat you well. Now kiss me my love!"
James was still a bit shooked but in a positive way. He hugged her and pressed his lips on Lilys. The following kiss marked the beginning of their fresh new relationship. They both liked this development very much.
