Victoria took Max's hand and expected something more, something more than nothing. Vic looked around and then back to Max. "Was something supposed to happen?" Max just smiled sweetly at that. She always loved showing off to Victoria for the first time. Max picked up the bottle of brandy and threw it full force at Victoria's window. This shocked Victoria and for a moment she could swear the bottle was frozen in the air. It was like the world was buffering. She let go of Max's hand to shield her eyes from the glass as she heard it shatter from the bottle sailing through it. She quickly went to yell at Max. This prank wasn't funny. Max wasn't there though. She was alone in her room. "Max?"

"Here. Sorry." Victoria whipped around to find Max standing behind her at her desk.

"What the absolute fuck Caulfield?" Vic yelled as she motioned to the now smashed window.

"Sorry I should have warned you not to let go of me" Max's tone then shifted to a softer one. "… And can you stop calling me Caulfield?" Max gently offered her hand to Victoria again.

"No." Vic folded her arms and glared at Max. "If you're just going to break more of my shit, I think you should leave." In the back of Victoria's mind she wondered why Max's last name would bother her. She knew not to call her Maxine, not that it stopped her, but the last name part was new.

"… Alright." Max took a few steps and picked up her guitar, as if to leave. "I'll just break my shit."

"Wait what?" Max slammed the guitar across her knee and it broke with surprising ease. The strings snapped with that distinctive twang. Max dropped the now two pieces of her guitar on the floor. Vic just stared at her in bewilderment.

Then Max vanished from her view. Vic felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around again to find Max behind her. "I told you." She vanished again. "Shit is about to get-" Vic whipped around to see Max laying on her bed but she was soon gone from her vision again. Vic's bedroom door opened and Max walked in. "Hella weird."

Vic took a step back from Max. She heard the crunch of glass under her slipper. She didn't know what to think. There was fear in her eyes but also wonder. Max closed the door behind her. "M-Max.. What is happening?"

"Scientifically? The manipulation of space time and creation of alternative universes." Max took a single step toward Victoria. "Magically? I can control time and reverse it up to three minutes before the end of class yesterday." Max took another step. "Emotionally? I'm putting my life in the hands of the one woman I can not help but love with every fiber of my being. I'm showing you the deepest… most vulnerable part of myself." Max held out her hand once again with a loving smile. "I want you to know the real me, not the shy non-confidant girl you know me as. Please, allow me to fully show you. Take my hand."

Victoria went from confused to flustered as Max spoke. Manipulation of space? Different universes? Time travel? Though what tugged at her mind most was, how could she love her? She didn't deserve to be loved. A blush crept across her face but she couldn't bring herself to look away from Max's eyes. "Alright. Show me." She reached out and took a hold of Max's hand.

Max's smile softened. Fuck she loved her. "Just don't let go this time again, kay?" Vic nodded with a smile of her own and stepped as close as she could to Max. Vic interlaced their fingers. "First check the time. Then watch my guitar, then the window." Victoria pulled out her phone and noted the time. 12:03 P.M. Slipping her phone back in her pocket before locking eyes with the girl who had turned her world upside down.

Max raised her right arm and with a twist of her hand time froze. Through the now broken window Victoria heard the songs of the birds halt. Victoria gasped and looked out the window. "Time is frozen at the moment. It was how I was moving without you seeing. Watch the guitar." Vic looked to it. As Max wiggled her fingers the guitar lifted from the ground. It perfectly put it's self back together and went to rest in it's former spot against the couch. "Now the window." Keeping a firm grasp on Max's hand she turned to look at the window. For a moment she marveled at Max's hand seemingly controlling time. Shards of glass lifted themselves and sparkled like brilliant snow rising toward the sky. The brandy bottle came back through the window and suddenly it was whole again. Vic watched as the bottle stopped in the air from where Max threw it. The brandy then found it's place on her desk next to her drug mirror. Max closed her hand and let her arm fall. Once again Victoria could faintly hear the bird songs and noticed the swaying of the trees. "I'm done. Time is moving again. Check the time."

Victoria's mouth was slightly agape. She pulled her phone from her pocket and turned on the screen. 11:58 A.M. They had truly went back in time. Vic turned to look in those beautiful blue eyes. "Max … That was amazing! You're amazing!"

Max chuckled softly and raised the hand that wasn't entwined with Vic's and cupped her love's cheek. "You don't even know the half of it." Vic bit the corner of her bottom lip. Max knew that tell of Vic's very well. She did it every time she wanted to kiss Max in public, or for the first time like now.

Max had given herself a rule though. She would never be the first one to initiate physical intimacy. Albeit she broke that rule when she kissed Victoria in the classroom, back when she was on the warpath. She would never regret it, but now wished she had followed that rule. She considered herself to have too much of an advantage in that field. After years of memorizing their bodies and every button they could push. Giving their virginity to one another over and over again. Becoming each other's wife. Laughing over their wrinkles. Hairs growing gray. Holding hands while Max died. The Victoria of this timeline didn't have those luxurious memories, yet. The least Max could do is allow Vic to be the one to initiate their first true kiss again.

"Vic… You have my permission to do whatever you want to me. Kiss me, kill me, love me, hate me, make love to me, tell me to never see you again. Whatever you would have from me, is yours. I love-"

She was cut off by Victoria dropping her phone to slide her hand up from Max's hip, to ribs, over her breast, up her neck, and into her hair. Vic pulled Max's head up while leaning down to bring their lips together. Max moaned into the kiss and gripped her other half's hand tight.

How she missed this.
