Chapter One

The sun hung low in the London sky, casting long, golden shadows across the quaint streets of the city. Kagome Higurashi had always dreamt of visiting this historic place, and now, on a rare break from her adventures in the Feudal Era, she found herself wandering the cobbled lanes with a sense of wonder. Her time-traveling exploits with Inuyasha and the others had left her craving a taste of the modern world.

Kagome had been taking in the sights and sounds of London for days, marveling at the blend of history and modernity that surrounded her. Today, however, felt different. Something was in the air, an unusual tension that prickled at the edges of her awareness. Unbeknownst to her, fate had a strange encounter in store.

As she strolled down a narrow alleyway lined with charming boutiques, her attention was suddenly diverted by the screeching of tires and the blaring of horns. Kagome's heart raced as she turned to see a sleek, black sports car hurtling toward her, seemingly out of control. Panic surged through her veins, and she barely had time to react.

In an instant, she was yanked backward, her back pressed against a cold brick wall. The car rocketed past her, its side mirror brushing her cheek, leaving her trembling with fear and shock.

Breathing heavily, Kagome glanced up to see her savior—a tall, imposing figure with sharp features and piercing blue eyes. He wore a dark, tailored suit that exuded an air of sophistication. His black hair was perfectly coiffed, and a thin, pencil mustache adorned his upper lip. There was an undeniable air of danger about him, one that sent a shiver down Kagome's spine.

"Are you alright, my dear?" the man asked, his voice smooth and almost hypnotic.

Kagome nodded, still too stunned to find her voice. She glanced back at the speeding car, which had come to a screeching halt a short distance away. People were gathering, murmuring and gasping in response to the near-miss.

The man released her from his grasp, but Kagome remained rooted to the spot. "Thank you for saving me," she finally managed to say, her voice quivering.

A thin smile tugged at the corners of the man's lips. "It was my pleasure, my dear. I couldn't bear to see such a captivating beauty harmed."

Kagome blushed at the compliment and took a step back, regaining her composure. "I should really be going," she said, her gaze darting toward the gathering crowd.

But the man moved closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "I can't let you go so easily, my dear. Fate has brought us together, and I believe in seizing opportunities when they present themselves."

Kagome's unease deepened. This man's demeanor had shifted from chivalrous to something altogether more unsettling. "I appreciate your help, but I have plans," she replied, taking another step back.

He reached out, his fingers grazing her arm. "I insist, my dear. Allow me to make it up to you. Perhaps we could share a drink and get to know each other better?"

Kagome's instincts screamed at her to escape this encounter, but she was torn. She couldn't deny that there was a magnetic pull in the stranger's presence, even if it made her uneasy.

Just then, a voice from the crowd broke through the tension. "Crude! There you are!" A woman with striking, two-toned hair and a striking fashion sense approached, her eyes narrowing as she took in the scene.

Kagome seized the opportunity to make her escape. "I really must go now," she said, turning away and quickening her pace.

As she walked away, she couldn't shake the feeling that she had narrowly escaped a danger she couldn't quite define. Little did she know that her encounter with the enigmatic man known as Crude was only the beginning of a twisted tale that would draw her deeper into the shadows of London's underworld.

Unbeknownst to Kagome, her world was about to collide with a darkness she had never imagined, and she would have to summon all her strength and courage to face the twisted desires that lurked beneath the surface of this modern metropolis.

Kagome continued to walk briskly, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't help but replay the encounter in her mind. Who was that man, and why had he been so insistent on getting to know her? The strange, almost hypnotic allure he exuded sent shivers down her spine.

As she turned a corner and entered a quieter street, Kagome took a deep breath to steady herself. She had always been able to trust her instincts, and something about that man had set off alarm bells. Perhaps it was the way his eyes seemed to pierce through her, or the way his touch had sent a strange jolt of electricity through her veins.

Lost in thought, Kagome almost didn't notice the small group of dalmatians approaching her. They were accompanied by a woman with striking blonde hair and blue eyes. The dalmatians were incredibly well-behaved, walking in a perfect line, their tails wagging in unison.

Kagome couldn't help but smile at the sight. "Oh, aren't they adorable!" she exclaimed, kneeling down to pet one of the dalmatians. The woman smiled back, her suspicion from earlier seemingly forgotten.

"They're quite the handful, but I wouldn't have it any other way," she replied, her voice warm and friendly.

Kagome continued to chat with the woman, learning that her name was Anita, and she had a deep love for animals, especially her dalmatians. As they talked, Kagome's earlier encounter with Crude faded into the background of her mind.

Little did she know that their paths would cross again, and this time, there would be no escape from the enigmatic man who seemed determined to make her a part of his dark world.

As Kagome and Anita chatted, Kagome couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and comfort in the woman's presence. It was a stark contrast to the unsettling encounter with Crude just moments ago. Anita's passion for her dalmatians was evident, and Kagome found herself drawn to her warmth and kindness.

"I'm on vacation here, exploring London," Kagome explained, her voice tinged with excitement. "I never expected to meet such friendly people and adorable dogs."

Anita chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, London can be full of surprises, that's for sure. And I have to say, it's not every day that a stranger saves you from a speeding car."

Kagome's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she remembered the harrowing moment. "Yes, that was quite the close call. I'm grateful for the man's quick thinking."

Anita's expression shifted slightly, a hint of concern flickering across her face. "Crude can be... quite the character," she said carefully, choosing her words with caution.

Kagome raised an eyebrow, curious about the underlying tension in Anita's voice.
Is he a friend of yours'?"

Anita hesitated for a moment, her blonde hair catching the fading sunlight. "Not quite...more like he is my boss...," she replied, her gaze distant. "We've known each other for a while, but Crude... he's a complicated man."

Kagome couldn't help but be intrigued by Anita's cryptic response. "Complicated in what way?"

Anita sighed, as if wrestling with her thoughts. "Well, he has a certain charm, but he's also known to be quite ruthless when it comes to getting what he wants. I'd advise you to be cautious around him."

Kagome's curiosity deepened. She had sensed something off about Crude, but now Anita's words added another layer of mystery to the man. "Thank you for the warning. I'll keep that in mind."

As they continued their conversation, Kagome couldn't help but wonder about the enigmatic man who had saved her life. What kind of person was Crude, and why had he been so insistent on getting to know her? The pieces of this strange puzzle were falling into place, and she had a feeling that her adventures in London were only just beginning.
