Moon was going to have a normal day at Jade Mountain Academy. But first, a delicious breakfast; blueberry waffles. Her third favorite thing. Then, a bit after eating, she read for a while. Her first favorite thing. Who knew 'Architecture of the SkyWing Palace, 3rd Edition' would be so interesting?!
Then, her classes. She taught history to other dragonets with Qibli. It almost felt like cheating, because she was part of history. It seemed like she was finally going to have a normal day- one with no super secret powers or evil 2,000 year old animus dragons. Qibli started to see the 'I'm thinking about Darkstalker face' appear, so he gently comforted her with his wing. It startled her a little, but she knew that she needed his comfort at the moment.
"No more worrying," she muttered as she re-focused on her work.
After class was over, Moon and Qibli read, like they always did in their free time. Then Moon started to worry… again. Another vision… she thought. But, this wasn't a normal vision. Her headache suddenly came back, even stronger than the ones she got the day the history cave exploded. She ran out of the library through the haze of pain. Qibli running after her. She leaned against the wall of the empty hall.
"Are you okay?," Qibli asked. He seemed very worried
"Yeah, it's just that I have a really bad headache."
"Another prophecy?! Right after the first two?! I thought we were over with prophecies and evil dragons!," he complained. "Which I could beat, obviously," he added.
Moon laughed and shoved him a little with her wing. But she stopped abruptly. She was seeing everything in a shade of white from the pain.
"The prophecy… it's coming," she whispered, almost as quiet as the wind.
"Don't worry, Moon. I'm here for you," Qibli replied.
He put her talons into his, and she breathed in. The prophecy came, as clear and smooth as a mountain stream from in her mind out her mouth.
"Ancient secrets will rise from the depths
That shall unite five dragons forever
The wings of peace shall descend from the heavens
From royal and ever so clever
The emerald wings of unity emerge
As all the mountains turn to ruin
Unlikely dragons will rise to fight
The evilness in its undoing
A blue and green dragon of silk
And ones of night and sand
With a peculiar dragon from the Hive
Will travel to this foreign land
A chartreuse dragonet
With wings of leaves
Will be found along the way
Hoping for peace
And finally, a dragon of cream and black spots
Will avenge their friend of truth
And show how honesty is a strength
In those who must bargain for youth
A journey they shall undertake
and a secret soon uncovered
In the end, right shall prevail
And a new, pure tribe discovered"
They were both quiet, until Qibli broke the awkwardness.
"Well then, better pack my bags. Pantala, it sounds like. What do you think?"
Moon smiled at him shakily. "I guess so. Unless there's a tribe on Pyrrhia singing ' Yeah! Let's go rule the other tribes with peace and friendship!'" This time it was Qibli laughing at her. "Okay then, should I let anyone else know about our little expedition?" "Tell everyone we're leaving, but I think we should bring Blue and Luna with us," Moon replied. "Alright then, I'll let everyone know. Tsunami's going to be mad about the prophecy thing, though," said Qibli as he walked away.
Why can't I have just ONE NORMAL DAY?!, she thought fiercely as she finally recovered. "Because you're not evil enough to be normal" called Qibli from down the hall. Moon smiled as she walked back into the library, but then froze in place. An image entered her mind.
A green dragonet, with a black nose, legs, and sandwing-like frill. It, no- she, had four wings that reminded her of fairies she had seen in books. She was a dragonet of a tribe no other dragons had ever seen or even heard of before, besides Moon, from her vision. She grabbed a piece of paper and charcoal, and sketched the dragonet, as many details as she could remember. She felt that this dragonet would be the most important one in history. On the other side, she wrote a list of items.
Meanwhile, in the mountains of Pantala…
The mysterious dragon cackled. She had carried out the plan perfectly. The dragon would follow her every will, and no one could ever figure out it was her. Now she just had to wait. She was great at waiting…
