Happy September and welcome to the beginning of the end the last few chapters of Danny and Kitty
Yeah all good things have come to an end at some point like when I finished watching the live action One Piece today
I HIGHLY recommend it by the way it's really good
Back to the topic of Danny and Kitty we're reaching the end with some final battles and some final villains the Inner Circle (that name I'm using instead of the other one to keep the K+ rating)
The Phoenix will not be making an appearance because it'd come out of nowhere since Jean hasn't really played a big role in this story or any of my Many Dates stories outside of a brief cameo in Danny and Luz
So yeah no Phoenix the Inner circle has a different plan in mind
And a surprise you probably won't see coming before we're through
So sit back relax and enjoy the show
Here we go
After Many Dates Danny and Kitty
Peter sat on the couch doing his homework while his mom checked that she had everything to go to the mutant rights carnival tonight something Peter wasn't allowed to go to since he was grounded for cutting school and lying about where he was going the day the unplanned trip to Earth 1 happened
"Okay I've got my wallet my phones charged keys what am I forgetting" his mom said aloud
"Your husband and kids" Peter answered helping his mom with her pregnancy brain
"Husbands and kids gah I mean husband and kids right thank you Peter Danny Madge Logan we're going now" his mom called down the hall
"We're here" Dad said Logan and Madge trailing behind him Dad placed a kiss on moms cheek one of his hands on her stomach "okay family let's go"
"Right Peter you know the rules while you're grounded no screens I left money for pizza is on the table call me or your dad if there's an emergency we'll be home by eleven and no using your powers unless a bad guy breaks in"
"Got it mom" Peter said knowing the rules while he was grounded especially the no powers rule unless a bad guy breaks in
'Not that anyone has ever tried attacking the house' Peter thought 'it's just a rule mom and dad made up so we wouldn't goof around with our powers'
"Bye Peter I'll bring you back something deep fried as long as Logan doesn't eat it first" Madge promises while it looked like Logan was drooling at the mention of deep fried
"I make no promises" Logan swore before he raced out towards the car Madge following after than mom but dad didn't instead he walked over to Peter sitting down besides him on the couch
"I know getting your heart broken hurts it happened to me more than a few times when I was your age"
Peter didn't say anything he didn't want to talk about it
His dad sighed patting him on the shoulder "I'm always here if you want to talk" he said before standing up he headed out the door leaving Peter alone
'All alone' Peter thought
By the time the Fenton Pryde family arrived the mutants rights carnival was in full swing there were games rides all different kinds of fried foods to cater to every species and be equally unhealthy to all of them
And educational materials about the fight for mutant rights the Xaviers institute and other places to help kids with teens who suddenly develop mutant powers
Logan ran hungrily towards a booth selling street food from Pyros something Danny didn't have the stomach for
'That kids tolerance for spicy food is superhuman' Danny thought with a smile watching his youngest son his daughter and his pregnant wife get in line for Pyronite food
'Pregnant' Danny thought smiling he'd been smiling ever since Kitty told everyone at breakfast that she was pregnant again
"So Kitty's pregnant again" Danny's longtime friend and one time blind date Kara Kent-Hawkins said having snuck on him
"I never said that" Danny replied wondering how Kara figured it out so quickly
"You didn't have to you had that same smile on your face every time Kitty was pregnant" the reporter and secret leaders of the Justice League explained like it was obvious
Danny laughed "fair point" he looked around not seeing any of Karas family around "where are your kids"
"Robbie and Melissa are in line to go on the roller coaster with their dad and Jeans wandering around somewhere" Kara answered looking around a hinting look on the Kryptonian womans "she's probably looking for Peter"
"Because of her crush" Danny answered getting a surprised look from Kara probably trying to figure out how Danny finally overcame his cluelessness to figure out her daughter had a crush on his son
"Sam told me earlier this week" Danny explained answering how he found about that "apparently the kids were planning on doing some matchmaking for the two"
Though Danny didn't think any romance was likely after his crush on Rachel ended in expected heartbreak
Since Rachel was in her twenties and Peter was still in high school it was obvious Peters crush wasn't going to go anywhere
The fact she was ENGAGED to his nephew Jayden Danny had no clue about neither did most people
"He's a teenager he'll bounce back from it" Kara said "they fall in and out of love in the time it takes to make a sandwich"
Danny nodded that was true it hurt now but he believed that Peter would get through this
'Maybe some solitude would be good for him' Danny thought
"Okay it's official" Peter said having finished playing a game of solitaire after ordering a pizza
Maybe
Probably not
"I have no idea how to play this game" Peter said tossing the card in his hand onto the coffee table
Peter looked up when the doorbell rang
'There's no way it's the pizza' Peter thought he'd heard of speedy service but never that speedy
But what if it was Michael
The guy who left him stranded in another universe with one of his enemies and a killer android
Cautiously Peter got up using his powers he made his lower arm became pitch black and as strong as a diamond as he crept towards the front door
Ready for whatever and whoever was going to be on the other side
Throwing it open Peter pulled back his fist and threw a punch aiming straight at Jeans face
Wait a second Jean
At the same time Peter tried to stop his punch Jean stepped to the side so pulled by his momentum he ended up face first on the porch nothing hurt except for his pride
Peter rolled over looking up at Jeans face "I've heard of look before you leap but look before you punch is defiantly a new one" Jean quipped before holding out a hand
"Maybe next time you should use your observation haki instead of armament"
Peter rolled his eyes at the old joke ever since Jean saw his powers for the first time and she noticed how similar it was to armament haki from One Piece she loved to make jokes about him having haki
Holding up a hand Jean took it helping him stand on his feet
When he was back on his feet Peter got a good look at Jean
She stood a couple inches taller than his five foot seven with cheek length black braids going down the right side of her face the left side of her head shaved
She was wearing an orange Dakota high school marching band hoodie jean shorts black tights underneath thigh high boots and a necklace of turquoise beads around her neck
Jean smiled at him her sapphire eyes twinkling
'Wow have her eyes always been that blue' Peter thought
"Didn't see you at the carnival" she explained looking around "wanted to check on you see if you were okay"
"I got grounded long story I cut school lied to my mom ended up in another universe where my dad married your mom met their kids fought a robot that looked like Arnold from the Terminator and had a conversation with the daughter of a doppelgänger of my dad and Kim Possible that my parents invited to their wedding" Peter explained "you know typical superhero stuff"
"Only if your last name is Fenton" Jean joked "I've gotta hear the details of this story"
Peter wanted to say no although his parents didn't say anything about anyone being allowed in the house
'Loophole' Peter thought stepping aside "ladies first"
"What a gentleman" Jean quipped smiling
Charles placed Cerebro on his forehead and activated the machine and began his traditional psychic scan as he's done every evening for decades
Scanning the world on the lookout for anyone whose powers had just awoken who were alone scared and didn't know what to do
People that needed help
And Charles would be there to help them whether metahuman inhuman mutant supers or ordinary human if they needed help there would be a place for them at his school
Charles was about to conclude his scan when he felt a familiar psychic presence
'That's not possible' Charles thought he had to warn Danny and the X-men before it was too late
'Danny you're in danger' Charles projected his thoughts to Danny he could not say anything else before the attack began
And with that the final battle has begun
Yes Peter is beginning to get over his impossible crush on Rachel and start feeling something for Jean
I'm also trying to give her a personality and have her be more than just the love interest
