21- The Tree of Beginning.
Right at the horizon, past miles of land stood the very known Tree of Beginning. Iris and Smokescreen observed it from the edge of Rota, the nearest town to it.
"Whoa, now I see why they refer as it as tree. It surely resembles one, although it's more like a mountain." Iris admired.
"Yeah, Blaster could also bridged us a little closer. We'll need to roll really fast if we want to reach it before the Cons." Smokescreen supposed cheeking the distance.
"Why drive when we can reach there by a faster way?"
"Like which one?"
In that moment they heard a familiar roar which made them look down to up. It was Predaking, he decided to accompany them.
"Which faster way than flying? Everyone aboard!" Iris exclaimed excited.
Smokescreen sighed, probably not too excited as his human friend for riding on Predaking before getting on. While this happened, at some distance, three figures were also approaching the tree by land. Ser-Ket, Darksteel and Skylynx ran together through the places around the formation.
"Why couldn't we just fly to that thing?" Skylynx asked.
"We are bigger than the Autobots and more recognizable, specially for humans, so we are easier to spot and if that happened we would draw too much attention, like with those human criminals. This way will allow us to fit with the environment like pokémon do. Once we get our objective we can make all the noise we want." Ser-Ket explained.
Darksteel laughed. "I hope we find some resistance."
Back with the heroes…
"You can see everything from here. Isn't it amazing, Smokescreen?" Iris said.
"Yeah, terrific." The young Autobot said sarcastically, not paying attention.
"And what exactly are we suppose to look for in that place?"
"Wow Predaking, can you talk in your dragon form?" Iris asked surprised.
"I just discovered it recently. I thought just as Autobots and Decepticons are capable also in vehicle form, so as Insecticons, that maybe my kind would be able as well."
"What a surprise. Yeah, it makes lot of sense seeing it that way."
"Changing of subject, to answer your question, Ash, May and Max said the tree is the home of the singular pokémon Mew." Smokescreen said.
"Which is rumored to possess the genetic code of all the other pokémon of the whole world with it. Well, may be some exceptions like Arceus, and perhaps Deoxys as well."
"They also mentioned the presence of three other peculiar pokémon as well, Regice, Regirock and Registeel. I wonder which are those."
"They are known as golem pokémon. Normally they act as guardians of a very important place, such as this."
"We must assume the Decepticons are interested in both Mew and the Regis."
"The Regis may be easier targets but getting Mew will be an almost impossible challenge for them. It's the most slippery pokémon of all, no one has been able to catch it, the reason why its still a mystery. I think we don't need to worry about it, Predaking."
"But still we should not underestimate the Cons' tactics. Who knows what they will be capable of to grab them." Smokescreen reminded.
"I agree with you, Autobot."
"The name's Smokescreen."
"Cut it off, pal. With Predaking on our side there's nothing the Decepticons may throw at us which may trouble us." Iris reassured.
Suddenly they saw a trail of destruction below them, right straight to the tree.
"Well, that's not pretty comforting." Smokescreen said.
Predaking landed and inspected the damage as Iris and Smokescreen jumped down.
After inspecting the whole mess, Predaking transformed to robot form. "Just as I thought, Predacons."
"You mean Ser-Ket, Darksteel and Skylynx have passed through here?" Iris asked.
"When Blaster intercepted their conversation we heard they assigned them this place." Smokey reminded.
"Honestly I don't know why, it's obvious their specialty is hunting and wild fury. Not the ideal requirements for catching Mew."
"Nonetheless, better than safe than sorry. For what I witnessed those Predacons can be highly unpredictable, we must proceed with caution." Predaking advised following the trail, with Iris and Fraxure after him.
"Aye aye, your Highness." Smokescreen said sarcastically before going after them.
As they were approaching their destination, they spotted some curious crystal formations along the way.
"What? I didn't know there was exposed energon in this area."
"Predaking, don't touch it! That's not energon. Our friends told those structures are part of the Tree of Beginning, like extensions." Smokescreen warned.
"Like sensors of the human body?" Iris wondered.
"No idea, maybe something like that."
"Are you saying this Tree of Beginning is...alive?" Predaking asked.
"Their report mentions they witnessed how it behaved like some kind of huge organism which coexist with pokémon and that it's linked to Mew. They share some kind of symbiotic relationship."
"Wow, I can't wait to see it on the inside. Come on guys, the sooner we reach it the sooner we can see it." Iris encouraged jumped over some trees with the cybertronians after her.
It didn't took them much time to reach the entrance of the tree, right at the end of the destruction trail.
"You think they are already in?" Iris asked.
"Just one way to find out." Predaking said as he was about to get in.
"Hey wait, we can't just dig our way in. If that thing is supposed to be a living being, any attempt of making a path through the walls may hurt it, and I don't wanna figure out how it responses against a treat." Smokescreen warned as he prepared the phase shifter. "We must go the secure silent way."
"Just like at the Nemesis." Iris nodded as she and Fraxure jumped on Smokescreen's back. "Predaking, take Smokey's hand. As long as you remain in touch with him you will be able to pass through as well."
"Smokey?"
"Let's not waste more time." Smokescreen hurried up, not wanting to speak about his nickname.
Predaking put his hand on Smokescreen's shoulder before he activated the shifter. They all walked right into the formation, passing through the rock.
"Now that I've noticed it Smokey, you're acting a little different today."
"What do you mean, Iris?"
"You look more mature and responsible. Have you gotten interested on what Bumblebee achieved?"
"No, it's not about that. Nothing at all."
Moments later, after passing all the wall, they found themselves right in middle of a huge area which seemed to be right inside and under the very tree: it looked like some plains, with a lake and fruit trees where all kinds of pokémon, even prehistoric ones, were living peacefully.
"Whoa, look at this place. It's even prettier than the others mentioned."
But Iris's admiration was cut when suddenly they heard a loud noise coming from an upper level. They saw a cloud of dust and smoke, from which a figure was sent flying near them. They saw it was Regirock once the dust cleared, but why it was sent flying? The answer came when they heard a familiar roar from the upper level, and the Predacons emerged from the cloud.
"Oh no, they're already here." Iris observed.
"Scrap." Smokescreen cursed.
"Skylynx, go get the little special one. Demolish whatever you need in order to reach it. We will deal with the guardians." Ser-Ket instructed.
Skylynx went to another tunnel as the two Predacons jumped down to where Regirock landed.
"Seems a little weird fighting a bunch of walking rocks, but if that's our order fine with me." Darksteel said before he fired a stream of flames.
The Predacon's flamethrower impacted right to Regirock, but after it was over they saw the legendary pokémon was intact.
"What? How is it possible?" Darksteel asked in disbelief.
"You are very dumb, don't you Hot Head?" Iris said, making the Predacons to turn at her. "At being a rock type pokémon, Regirock is immune to your fire attacks. Even an initiated pokémon trainer knows that."
"What are you doing here, little pest?" Ser-Ket demanded.
"Making sure you guys don't bother any of the Tree of Beginning's inhabitants."
"Ha, like it matters. What such a little being like you can do to stop us?" Darksteel mocked.
Fraxure answered striking him with Giga Impact, sending him against a wall. Before Darksteel could get out, Regirock attacked him first with Hyper Beam, burying him more into the wall. Ser-Ket was about to support him when Smokescreen fired at her, stopping her on her way and turning at him. Smokescreen's distraction allowed Predaking to grab her by the tail, swing her around and throw her near the lake, scaring all nearby pokémon.
"I had it under control." Smokescreen objected.
"Better not give her any chance." Predaking responded, right before he received a hit from behind.
"Regirock." The rock golem pokémon said, being the one which attacked Predaking.
"Hey, what did you do that?!" Iris shouted.
"It must be thinking because they look similar they act the same way, so it considers Predaking a treat as well." Smokescreen deduced.
"Stop, you are wrong! Predaking is not like the others, he's good!" Iris defended standing between the pokémon and the Predacon.
Fraxure talked with Regirock, traducing everything Iris wanted to say to it. That left the legendary pokémon confused, until a noise made it look at the upper level, where two other similar pokémon stood at the edge.
"Iris, are those two…?" Smokescreen started.
"Registeel and Regice."
After receiving a message from Regirock's glowing points which looked like it's eyes, both Regis descended to face Darksteel.
"Well, at least we know where those three are." Smokescreen pointed.
"But what about the singular one, the one called Mew?"
"You got a point, Predaking. I saw the third Predacon running at other direction, he must be after it. We gotta reach it before he does." Iris said moving already.
"Iris wait! Think you can put those in their place?" Smokescreen asked.
"I managed to handle the three of them at once." Predaking nodded.
"Then go for it. I will go with Iris."
Iris tried to use her climbing skills to reach the tunnel where Skylynx went in, but climbing on rocks was harder than trees. Then she felt something giving her a boost from below her, and saw Regirock helping her and Fraxure.
"Thank you."
At least they reached the top. Before they went into the tunnel, Smokescreen caught up with them.
"Hey there, need of a pair of extra hands?" The Autobot offered.
"Where's Predaking?" Iris asked.
"He can take care of himself pretty well, thanks for bothering." Smokescreen answered a little annoyed that she asked for the Predacon's well-being first instead of his. "Anyway, we better get hurry if we want to find Mew before that Predacon does."
Thanks to the phase shifter they advanced faster going through the walls, being followed by Regirock using Dig. It didn't took them much to find where Skylynx was, maybe because of the fact that he didn't know where he was going. That gave them the chance to surprise him with an ambush, performed by Regirock and Fraxure, using a combination of Dig and Outrage, and Smokescreen jumping on him. That caused Skylynx lot of confusion, but didn't prevent him from hitting Regirock with his tail, sending it to the end of the tunnel.
"I will keep him busy! You go search for Mew!" Smokescreen told her.
Iris didn't hesitate and went into a hole nearby with Fraxure. They followed it until they came out in some kind of passage between a huge abyss covered by a fog with multiple bridges of rocks connecting the two parts.
"Whoa, I didn't know we were already that high." Iris saw.
They haven't time to lose, they walked above one of the bridges to the other side. The problem was there was a lot of wind there, being stronger in some parts, so they were forced to grab the floor hard to not being sent away flying.
"Urg, I don't wanna experience how Team Rocket is defeated!"
Back with Smokescreen, he was more like enjoying distracting Skylynx, riding on him like a rodeo.
"Yeeehaaa! Come on, that's the best you have?!"
"Get off me, Autobot! I'm not an entertainment for you kind, but your hunter!"
"What? Can't you be both things at the same time?"
Smokescreen ended forcing Skylynx to crash into a wall. The Predacon continued moving, but for some reason he wasn't going after Smokescreen. When he got closer he saw why: the Predacon had his head stuck in the wall and was trying to release himself, which made him laugh.
"A shame I can't take a picture of this right now, but duty calls me." Smokey lamented before going where Iris and Fraxure went.
At the same time, Predaking and Ser-Ket were both circling around in dragon form like two creatures which were about to fight for dominion, looking at each other with angry faces showing their teeth and ready to launch flames. And they did: both Predacons charged at maximum before releasing two powerful streams of fire at each other, ending in a clash of beams. Because no one seemed to be in each they ceased breathing fire and charged at each other. Of course Predaking, being the biggest, had the advantage when it comes to strength, pushing Ser-Ket back, but the female Predacon used her tail jaws to grab Predaking's neck, and drag him around while she took the chance to attack him on the belly. Predaking roared in pain, but managed to kick her backwards with strength. Ser-Ket reacted firing him some flames at the face, blinding him a little, but giving her enough time to jump on his back and nail her claws on his back while she bite him on the neck and grabbed his tail with the jaws of her.
"You think you're supposed to rule over us, but you don't fool me. Is the presence of those around you which forges your strength. If you stand with weaker beings, in the end that will make you weak." Ser-Ket proclaimed.
Meanwhile, Darksteel's situation was not better, and he was against the Regis, but Regirock's effects let him very stuck into the rock wall, and while he was focused on trying to get out, Regice was using Ice Beam to trap him even more. That urged the Predacon to try to counter the pokémon's ice with fire, but Registeel prevented it by using Metal Claw on his head constantly. That allowed its companion to keep freezing the Predacon's free parts.
"Ser-Ket, I'm in a little cold situation right here." Darksteel admitted, requesting assist.
Ser-Ket spotted Darksteel's problem, and since she managed to submit Predaking decided to assist her brother. But Predaking was still with enough strength and grabbed her by the tail. That caused her to reach grabbing his neck with her tail's jaws, but this time Predaking didn't yield: he pulled from her, dragging her with him as he spread his wings. Predaking took flight, with Ser-Ket still trying to get free, and started to fly around the area, making her to hit against the rocks multiple times, before ending launching her against the ceiling. The impact was so hard that she ended falling into the lake. Because of that, Darksteel ended covered in ice stuck against the wall, incapable of even change form. Once they were done, the two Regis met up with Predaking, who looked at them with respect, which surprisingly they understood before the three looked at where the others went to pursuit Skylynx, Speaking of him, he was still trying to get out his head, until he though of an easier way: he just transformed, retracting his dragon head when he changed to robot form. He sighed in relief before looking at the hole where his enemies went before transforming again. Meanwhile, Iris and Fraxure were still trying to cross the rock bridge carefully because of the wind.
"We're almost...there." Iris announced.
But Fraxure was slipping away and was been carried away by the wind. He tried to grab to Iris's long hair, but because he was now bigger than when he was Axew now was different.
"Fraxure, what are you doing? It's hurting me!"
And it seemed she was also going to be taken by the wind. Fortunately, a big hand grabbed them in the last moment.
"Smokescreen! Just in time!" Iris thanked.
"Miss me?" The young Autobot joked while he put them on a safe place.
"Fraxure, we can't do this anymore. Specially when you evolve again and end being taller than me."
Suddenly, Smokescreen was tackled by Skylynx, who found them, and pinned him against a wall. The Predacon started to nail his claws on the Autobot's chest, inflicting some serious scratches, although Smokescreen did his best to not scream. Fortunately for him, Regirock fired a Hyper Beam from above which hit Skylynx's back, making him to fall and hit multiple times against some of the bridges before disappearing into the fog.
Smokescreen sighed in relief while he hooked the right parts of the wall to climb. "No worries, I'm fine. You keep search for that pokémon."
"This place is too huge, I wish there is a shortcut to Mew." Iris wished.
Fraxure touched her and pointed to Regirock. The rock golem pokémon was also pointing to a certain part of the wall. Iris and Fraxure went to check it. What no one knew was that Skylynx didn't fell, he managed to hook to the edge of the wall with one of his claws.
"What's about this wall? It looks normal to me."
When Fraxure placed his hand over it, this disappeared as the wall emitted some weird waves. Iris remained speechless as Fraxure, pretty curious about this, decided to look inside and disappeared into the false wall.
"Hey Fraxure, wait up!" Iris said following him.
Once passing through that strange portal, Iris found herself in some kind of conduit with glowing balls floating around her. She took the chance to ride on one and ascended with the others, with Fraxure right over her. Then they exited at the same point, another portal which took them not to where they entered, but a total different place.
"Whoa."
Meanwhile, Ser-Ket finally emerged from the lake, shook off the water of her body and went to check on Darksteel, who was completely stuck in the wall by the ice.
"Not a word about this." He begged. "And get me out already!"
Ser-Ket breathed fire at the ice to melt where Darksteel was stuck. After a while, it was done. Next, both Predacons proceeded to look for their enemies or their partner, so they went to the tunnel he took. While they traveled it, Darksteel noticed some of the glowing crystals in the tunnel and went to check it.
"Hmm, energon." Darksteel misunderstood.
He attempted to take a bit, and when he did…
"Puag, it taste like rock."
But what happened next he didn't expect it: some kind of red blob emerged from the crystals and tried to grab his head. That made him to try to sake it off without success, until a laser shot disintegrated it.
"That's what happens if you stick your nose where you shouldn't." Ser-Ket warned.
Smokescreen witnessed something similar once he ended climbing up, catching up with Regirock, seeing another blob emerging from another crystal formation before adopting a form similar to a prehistoric pokémon.
"Eh base? I'm seeing some kind of weird floating red masses emerging from the crystals. Is there anything about that in the data we have about the tree?"
"We're on it, Smokescreen." Bonnie answered from New Iacon as Fixit checked the database.
"I think I've found it: those things are some kind of antibody which protects the Tree of Beginning from any possible treats." Fixit reported.
"Then if the tree is generating them, it's because something has inflicted some damage. That might be a problem giving the detail Mew and the tree are linked, because if one suffers the other may feel the same."
Smokescreen was not aware that Skylynx listened everything he said, and instead of surprise him as he intended first he took flight and decided to search for his comrades. At the same time, Iris and Fraxure were in a peculiar place: it looked like a mini paradise with its own pond, grass, plants and enough space for flying pokémon.
"Woah, this place is beautiful. Could it be where Mew lives, his room in the tree?" Iris wondered.
She took a look around the area until some curious things got her attention.
"These toys, where did they come from?"
She was about to grab one, but before she could touch it started to float around, like if it was possessed. Fraxure jumped at it, trying to catch until he did. In that moment, it revealed what was moving the toy.
"I don't believe it. Is that...Mew?" Iris saw.
"Mew?" The little pokémon asked curious looking at Iris.
"Oh? Hi little one, I'm Iris. I'm not sure if you understand this but I'm friend of Ash and Pikachu. Do you remember them, right?"
Fraxure spoke with Mew, translating what Iris said. Mew smiled flying around before he stopped right in front of Iris.
"I guess that's a yes. Nice to meet you." Iris said offering her hand, which Mew only took a finger. "You're such a cutie."
While they were enjoying the encounter, the Predacons were battling more of the tree's antibodies, disposing of them with their energy weapons. They decided to combine into a much bigger one, so they Predacons decided to change back to dragon form and launched constant fire beams at it, not enough to disintegrate it. Until a third one got it from behind, and with the combination of the three the huge antibody was no more.
"About time." Ser-Ket greeted as they transformed again. "Did you found the other target?"
Skylynx changed to robot form as well. "Not yet, but I discovered something intriguing. It appears the one called Mew shares a deep connecting with this place, meaning if one's health is affected it will influence the other's."
"Ha, sounds like a weak point."
"Indeed Darksteel, one that we can take advantage of. I think we have found our way to force that thing to come out from its hiding place. We need to return to the surface and inflict as much damage to this place as we can." Ser-Ket instructed.
"What? Why?" Skylynx questioned.
"If that pokémon cares so much for its home, then it would be willing to do anything to protect it. Just like the Autobots."
"I see."
"I don't need any reason to make some destruction." Darksteel opined before they transformed again to dragon form.
The Predacons ran through the tunnels, blasting any antibody they encountered along the way, until they reached the exit. There they took flight and dispersed, choosing their own spots where they started firing fire shots at the tree's structure. Some impacts caused entire formations to break and fall, while others started to cause fires. That was also felt in where Iris, Fraxure and Mew were. Mew went into the secret passage they used to get there and got in touche with the tree, allowing it to feel what was going on.
"I have a bad feeling about those tremors." Iris said.
In that moment Smokescreen arrived phasing through the floor, which surprised Mew.
"Iris, you found it?"
"Yeah, this seems to be its room."
"Oh yeah? Then where is it?"
Iris looked everywhere but Mew wasn't anywhere in the place.
"Oh now I get it, it may be surprised by you so it disappeared." Iris realized. "Mew, fear nothing, he's a friend too!"
Iris tried to prove her point by climbing up to her guardian's shoulders.
"See? Everything's fine. You can trust him."
Immediately Mew reappeared in front of them, surprising Smokescreen. It examined the Autobot floating around him, and once it was done it turned happy again.
"So this is the so mysterious pokémon every human speaks about?" Smokescreen asked in disbelief. "Honestly, I believe the Decepticons are going to be pretty disappointed once they realize such important pokémon is actually a cute little being."
"Yeah, but looks can be deceiving. This little guy is one of the strongest pokémon of the entire world." Iris reassured him.
Suddenly more tremors shook the whole place, causing some rocks to fall above them. Smokescreen covered everyone from the rocks but it wasn't necessary, because Mew used Psychic to stop the rocks and place them aside.
"Wow, now I see what you mean." Smokescreen admitted.
"What was that?" Iris asked.
Smokescreen took a look outside, zooming his optics at spotting something at the distance. "Oh scrap. The Predacons are attacking the Tree of Beginning directly, bombing it with fire blasts. I don't know what their intentions are, but if they continue like this…"
"They could destroy the whole tree and every pokémon within it." Iris ended alarmed. "We have to stop them. We need to search for Predaking."
That made Smokescreen explode. "Arg, enough with him! Predaking this and that. It was me who took care of all points along this mission! I was the one who thought about the best way to operate around this place based on everything we know, thinking before acting! I was the one eager to come and keep you safe in every moment! And it still seems like not enough, because he can do more because of his Predacon status!"
After yelling out everything he contained, Smokescreen sat on the floor looking down, while Iris remained speechless, but she didn't look annoyed by this, but concerned. Mew and Fraxure looked at each other not knowing what this was about.
Iris walked to her guardian and sat next him. "Is...is that why you are acting more mature, because of jealously? Because you think I may prefer Predaking instead of you? Smokey, don't get wrong: it is true that I admire Predaking a lot, mainly because of his similarity with dragon pokémon, but that doesn't mean I prefer his as my guardian. You are unique Smokescreen, and no one will never take your place. Who do you think would be able to deal with my behavior and share our unique moments?"
Those words moved Smokescreen's spark, making him smile and taking Iris on his hand before they both touched the other's forehead with their own.
"Thanks Iris. That means much for me."
That moment was so touching that it even made Mew and Fraxure cry and hug each other, but new tremors made them stop.
"We have to stop those Predacons before they can cause some irreparable damage."
Iris thought about something and smile at her friend. "Smokey, can you please act like when we first met, like a kid?"
"Why?"
"To make the right ones angry."
Smokescreen understood what she was meaning. "You got it. You go look for the big one while I get the party ready."
Meanwhile, the Predacons continued their rampage, until Ser-Ket signaled them to stop.
"Singular Mew, I'm addressing to you! As you may have noticed already we Predacons have enough power to bring down your whole home, and we don't care about the ones which may perish under it's remains! So I make you this offer: surrender yourself to us if you want this place to be saved!"
A long silence enveloped the area, which just the sound of debris falling and things burning.
"How long are we going to wait for an answer?" Darksteel asked impatiently.
Everything remained quiet, until a beam of ice started to eliminate the flames, Regice's doing with Ice Beam.
"Sounds to me they didn't got the message." Skylynx supposed.
"A mistake they will regret." Ser-Ket swore getting ready to continue the attack.
"Hey lizards!"
The Predacons turned to where they were called and saw Smokescreen jumping out of some bushes firing at them.
"What's the matter, funks, not beast enough to fight me fair and square? I thought you were better than Predaking." Smokescreen provoked.
The provocation worked on Skylynx, who roared in fury before going for him. Smokescreen expected him, and got ready his phase shifter as he waited for the Predacon to approach enough before jumping out of his way. The Predacon landed hardly, slipping on the way before redirecting himself at the Autobot. The other Predacons were about to continue their plan when suddenly two Hyper Beams, from Regirock and Registeel, hit Darksteel on the chest and Ser-Ket was tackled by Predaking. Iris, Fraxure and Mew arrived and saw the chaotic scenery.
"This is a mess, how are we going to dispose of them three at once?" Iris wondered, not noticing Mew was checking her Z-Ring closely.
Immediately, Mew flew right to where they came, leaving Iris and Fraxure confused. Instead of figuring out why it left, they opted to assist their friends: Iris used a cube shaped rock to bring water from a nearby pond to help Regice extinguish the fire while Fraxure used Dragon Rage to assist Predaking against Ser-Ket. Moments later Mew returned.
"Mew mew!"
"What is it, Mew?" Iris asked.
The little pokémon showed her a little object it had on its hands.
"Is that what I think it is?" Iris wondered, which made her start thinking on something. She looked at Smokescreen. "Smokey, can you get the Predacons together?!"
Smokescreen saw Darksteel wasn't far from him so, after making sure Skylynx was after him, he ran near to encourage him to go after him. And for the end, he went right at Predaking, rumbling Ser-Ket.
"Hey big guy, make way! Coming through!" Smokey waved.
Predaking followed his advice and jumped aside when Ser-Ket was about to charge him, making her focus her attention on him, and that's when he turned on the phase shifter, passing through her, but making her to collide with the other two.
"Urgh, I can't believe we fell into this again." Skylynx groaned.
"Hey false dragons! You wanted Mew, here you have it!" Iris called with Mew next to her.
"That's the special one we were suppose to catch?" Darksteel asked in disbelief.
"Cheer up brother, being that small means it will be easier to handle." Skylynx cheered.
"You will regret insulting us that way, little human." Ser-Ket said before changing to robot form and charging at them, followed by the other two.
"Here they come. Ready?" Iris asked.
"Mew." Mew nodded.
"Alright then. Then it's time for our secret weapon."
Iris placed the little object on her Z-Ring, making it to shine, revealing to be a Z-Crystal. The moves she made were similar to ones for a psychic Z-Move, making her emanate energy which flowed into Mew while it floated around her.
"You will learn that sometimes size doesn't matter. Show them why you are the most special between special pokémon! Genesis Supernova!"
Mew generated lots of floating spheres of psychic energy which it put together in a ring formation. Next, they spin around like a chain of DNA before smashing each other, making a bigger sphere which once was complete Mew threw it with its powers at the Predacons. They were charging at full speed that they didn't have enough reaction time when they saw the sphere coming at them, ending in a huge explosion. Predaking covered the Regis while Smokescreen covered Fraxure. Once the explosion was over, everyone saw the results when the smoke dissipated: the three Predacons were lying on the ground with burns and marks all over their bodies and sparks circling around them. It was clear that Z-Move was so powerful that it damaged them so badly.
"How? How such...small and unbelievable being...managed to make us this?" Ser-Ket asked in disbelief.
Predaking returned to robot form. "You said yourself: is the presence of those around you which forges your strength. Both these pokémon know that humans and Autobots are willing to risk their lives to protect them, so they are willing to stand beside them in return. Is that feeling of stand together what forges that incredible strength which took form of that strong attack which defeated you. You have failed in your hunt, but we will treat you as you never will and we'll allow you to live. But never, ever, return here again."
"You've heard your king Predacons. Leave, now." Smokescreen added.
The Predacons saw the Regis, Predaking, Smokescreen, Iris, Fraxure and even Mew ready to keep fighting if they would not give up.
Ser-Ket sighed as she tried her best to get up and help the others. "Fine. You have beat us today. But don't get the wrong idea Predaking, this doesn't prove you are supposed to rule over us. This fight is not over yet, and time will decide which the fiercest beasts are."
After that speech, the three Predacons transformed and took flight, but because of their wounds they were unable to fly, so they just glided, leaving the tree. Once it was done, Mew celebrated it floating around everyone, even allowing Iris to tickle it.
"Em, Predaking, I think I...own you an apology." Smokescreen started.
Predaking looked him with surprised eyes. "Apology, for what?"
"The way I was behaving today toward you is because I feared Iris would end up choosing you to be her guardian, so I tried to act mature and cool in order to prove her I could be as amazing as you, but I was wrong. The fact she admires you doesn't mean you are the center of her world, now I know it."
"I think I know what you mean, Smokescreen. It's hard when you think what makes you special in front of others can be taken away, and you are willing to make everything in your power to conserve it. You are very fortunate to have established a special link with that human."
"Yeah I know, but that doesn't mean you can't as well." Smokescreen revealed before turning at Iris. "Hey Iris, mission complete. Let's return to base."
"Already? Oh, come on, we just got here and already saved the day. Can't we just play a little with Mew?"
"Mew mew!"
"We have finished our duty here, so we may return to see if the others are none done yet may need our support." Predaking pointed.
"Who's acting now like a kid?"
Iris sighed in defeat. "You got me there, Smokey. Alright Fraxure, time to go. But don't worry Mew, I promise we will be back for visit when we have a chance."
"Mew, mew mew!"
Predaking transformed, allowed the rest to ride on his back and took off, leaving the Tree of Beginning. Mew and the Regis waved them goodbye as their curious visitors left back to their own home.
