Sadie was in her final year at Hogwarts and things had gotten better. Her school mates had grown used to seeing her in the girls' uniform and skirts on weekends. Her da had gotten fired from the factory only to get accepted at a local garage for malfunctioning cars. To pick up the extra weight while he had been off, her mam had started making herbal salves for the neighborhood and taking in sewing projects. Since the salves used mostly mundane ingredients the ministry couldn't find any fault if they had looked closer. She also now had tentatively started looking at boys and giggling with Lily and her dorm mates over the fittest boys in school. They all agreed Sirius Black had a bad boy aesthetic that was uniquely appealing, but that he wasn't marriage material.

Sadie was divided though. She, like many girls, was growing to like James Potter as he grew up and matured away from his prank loving youth. The raven haired girl was also finding she liked girls more than in a friendship way. That wasn't a problem so far, her mother had explained how most wixen were on a scale of attraction favoring more than one sex at a time. The problem was Sadie was falling hard for her best friend, Lily.

She had no doubt that Lily was accepting of different sexualities and had even commented when a girl in class looked particularly nice, but Lily had confessed she really liked James. How could she interfere with her friend's lovelife?

She was on her way to meet the Slytherin and Gryffindor girls for hot butterbeers at the Three Broomsticks when she saw James talking to Lily in a side alley. She wanted to be nosey but decided it was Lily's business. He was probably asking her out. Sadie's heart fell a little.

She hurried on to the bar and grabbed a seat, noticing she was the first one there. A few minutes later, Lily came in in a flurry of red hair and black cloak.

"Hey Sadie!" She exclaimed, smiling brightly.

Sadie offered her a smile back. She looked at her friend and hesitated before asking.

"I saw you with James. Was her bothering you about dating him again?"

The redhead shook her head. " No he was surprisingly easy going today. He was actually asking if you had plans." She wriggled her eyebrows lavisciously.

Sadie blushed bright red. "But! What? He's been after you for years!"

Lily smiled again, sharper, looking like a fox on the hunt.

"I told him maybe if he was good, he might have a chance with both of us." Sadie blushed harder. "I've noticed how you look at him and even me. You're my best friend and really pretty, Sadie. I wouldn't be opposed if you wanted to date and see if it goes anywhere."

Lily winked at her and moved over for the Gryffindor girls, effectively tabling the discussion.

Sadie shook it off her brain, deciding to enjoy her day out of the castle and to think on it more later. What if Lily was serious? She had heard of triads before. Her mam's great aunt had been married to two wizards. But how would they explain it to the Evans's? Petunia already thought Sadie was weird. She didn't want to ruin her best friend's family.

She thought about her conversation with Lily overnight. And then again all week long. Friday night she decided she needed to talk to James and Lily face to face. Since it was the middle of April, the weather outside was better so she felt good about dragging the Gryffindors outside on the green for a talk. She told Remus it was private and that she expected him to wrangle the other two into giving them some privacy.

They sat outside in the grass on a hill overlooking the Whopping Willow, and Sadie cleared her throat. "So I think we should talk…James, Lily said last week that you wanted to try going out with me? And you still, I assume, have feelings for Lily?" She targeted at him, raising a thin eyebrow.

He blushed but nodded.

Before he could open his mouth, she turned to Lily." And we've agreed James is less of a toerag and more attractive this year, yes?"

Lily nodded.

"And you said you think I'm…pretty?" She blushed just saying the words.

Lily smiled and nodded, reaching to entwine their fingers.

Sadie nodded, and said, "Alright, I like you both as well. But where do we go from here?"

James ran a hand through his hair, messing it up further. "Well, if you're not opposed, I'd like to try dating both of you."

Lily nodded and looked at Sadie, "I'd like to try dating you both."

Sadie blushed harder. "OK. So we're agreed to dating."

James smiled at the girls brightly.
