Stella Pots had been living with Tony Stark ever since she was seven. Her parents had died in an accident and nobody would take her in even though she was a very intelligent individual. After being switched from relative to relative, she ended up with her Aunt, Pepper Pots. Pepper couldn't take care of Stella so she was somehow able to convince Tony to take her in after she left.
