Long before Percy Jackson, the daughter of Zeus and Hera was born, named Selena and created as a hope and a protection for the gods in case something bad happens. Her sister Eris, jealous, threw her into the world of humans. She had to face challenges living as a "human" for thousand years. She saves Annabeth and Percy from vampires and meets Camp Half-Blood.

16. Chapter 17

Gilbert's Kingdom:

The guards were on their knees and bowing to their new queen.

- So, where is she? - Meredith asks

The guards keep silent only looking at each other.

- I will only say this one more time. Where. is. she? - Meredith hisses

- Forgive us, your majesty. We couln't find her, only this - One of the guards says, giving her a wet book about Snow White. She throws it across the room.

- Imbeciles! I want you to search for her even if it takes days or years. Be aware, I need Selena alive. If you don't come back with her or she dies, all are gonna suffer the consequences.

The guards go away to start the search.

- What is going here? - A voice asked and Meredith turns to the door and sees her daughter Katherine rubbing her eyes from sleep.

- Oh, my daughter! Something really bad happened! - Her mother pretends to be scared and worried

- What do you mean? - Katherine asks while being hugged by her mother

- It was Selena! She ... she ... killed her father and then threatened me? - Meredith says while pretending to be sad

- What? But, Selena ... she... wouldn't do something like that. She is a good person and wouldn't even hurt a bird.

- But, she unfornately, she did my daughter. I guess, that maybe, she got angry because the king was teaching me things about the kingdom. I think she got crazy. What will be of this Kingdom and it's people? What is gonna be of me? Of us? - Meredith asks

- Don't worry, mom. I wouldn't let anything happen to you. I would do anything to protect you - Katherine says

- Even hurting or killing a person for me? - Meredith asks

- Well, I don't like violence, but if it was the only way...so, yes. I would - Katherine says

- Oh, my daughter! You'll be an excellent princess. That I'm sure. Selena won't get unpunished after this and you'll help me right? - Meredith asks

- Of course mother. If Selena killed someone else, she must pay for her crimes - Katherine says

- Oh! I love you so much, my daughter! - Meredith says while kissing her daughter's hair.

- I love you too, mother! - Katherine says

while smiling under her mother's hug

"You may have escaped, but won't be able to hide forever, Selena. Soon or later, we'll find you. When we do, you're gonna beg for mercy until your last breath" - Meredith thinks
