POKERIDERS OOO AND BUILD: THE BULBASAUR OPERATION!
It was nighttime in Kanto now. He had just done his rounds of the house, making sure that no poachers or stealers were within spitting distance of the shelter. He had been abandoned by his old trainer simply for not wanting to evolve when his trainer wanted him to evolve. Did he want to? Of course! But he didn't want to be forced into it!
He then stopped at the water supply, and just took in his appearance. His species tended to have blue colored skin under the bulb area, but him? He had a skin tone that matched his bulb. Green. Unlike most other Shinies, however, he had something else.
On the front of his head, was a symbol of his species. His mother Venasaur always told him to be proud of that symbol, that it meant he was destined to make a scene.
All it had ever done for him so far was ostracize him from his fellow Bulbasaur. He was treated like an outsider, simply for it.
Why was he given this symbol? Was he the only one who had it? Even so, what did it mean? And most especially, what did the thing mean in the first place!?
He just sighed then went over to the cabin where everyone was, asleep without fear of danger. He admitted that they probably felt too safe with him around, but what could he do? He never met a good trainer, and even then, he'd be paraded around like an Arceus damn trophy, not as a living Pokémon.
He had just opened the door when he sensed something. Not something hostile, but like something was calling out to him. He looked over his shoulder, realizing that it seemed to be getting closer.
He was tempted to go out and investigate, but he decided against it. Right now, he would wait until Melanie woke up, then go and see what it was.
He didn't notice a female Pokémon staring at him, a fellow starter. She just looked and just sighed, hoping to try and help heal his heart.
If he ever opened it up again.
"COME ON! CAN'T WE FIND SOME WAY TO SPEED THIS UP!?" Ritchie moaned as they were lost in the woods now, with no way of figuring out where they were.
"I told him to stick to the path, but Ash said that he had sensed something in these woods!" Misty groaned out.
Earlier that morning, Ash had gotten up and was helping Brock and Serena with food when he swore that his Belt had been tugging him in a random direction, almost like it was telling him to go this way.
"Look, Big Brother doesn't know what it's doing or why. So, stop blaming him!" Molly yelled at them.
Serena just shook her head, then saw something that confused her. Over to the left, there was a strange Pokémon.
It was a quadruped creature, with green skin and a leaf on its head and 10 dark green buds around its neck. It was busy sniffing the flowers, then either picking some or just shaking its head at it and moving on as Serena took out her PokéDex.
"CHIKORITA, THE LEAF POKEMON. CHIKORITA USES THE LEAF ON ITS HEAD TO SCAN FOR WARMTH AND HUMIDITY IN ITS SURROUNDINGS, AND LOVES TO SUNBATHE."
Serena was surprised at this. Chikorita were the Grass Starters of the Johto Region. To see one from a beginner Trainer was a rarity in Kanto, let alone seeing one in the wild. Then Serena noticed something. On the front right paw of the Chikorita, was a very bad looking gash, a fresh one from what she could tell.
"Oh, you poor thing." She called out to it, as she walked calmly over to it, which made it look worried at first. Serena then stopped and pulled out a bandage and some healing ointment for it.
"That must hurt a lot, doesn't it?" Chikorita then looked at her paw and tried to hide it.
"This serum can heal it a lot faster than it would if it's left untreated. But that is up to you." Chikorita then looked at her, then hesitated.
This was not how he was expecting his day to go so far.
When he had woken up, Melanie had told him that Chikorita had ventured out of the area, he had rushed off to make sure nothing had happened. Strangely, the direction she had gone off in was the same direction that call seemed to be coming from. He was in the bushes, keeping an eye on her when he saw a group of five trainers and a young girl see her. He was ready to rush out when he saw the blonde-haired trainer run over to Chikorita, then stopped himself when he noticed that she kept enough distance and pulled out medical supplies, having seen her wound on her paw.
He had only seen this behavior from Melanie and Nurse Joys. Then he felt that call again, and it seemed to be coming from the boy with the Pikachu on his shoulder.
He then saw Chikorita slowly walk over to Serena, who made no sudden moves and let Chikorita come to her. When Chikorita got close enough, the girl poured some of the tonic into the bandage and slowly wrapped Chikorita's leg, making sure not to do anything too sudden. Chikorita of course, grimaced, but it wasn't because of the girl directly hurting her. It was just the reaction to the medication doing its job.
"Now remember, don't run unless it's the difference between life or death. This wound could reopen if you run too fast, too soon." She said with a kind smile, that suddenly turned to horror as she shoved Chikorita off her lap.
He was about to rush at her when a green blur suddenly crashed where she and Chikorita once were. He then saw the boy with the Pikachu and the others run forward.
"Another Yummy!?" He heard him say as he reached for a Pokéball and released a Pidgeotto, but he was shocked to see this Pidgeotto had a symbol on her chest! To top it off, when the others released Pokémon, he saw the little girl bring out a bear Pokémon he was not familiar with, but he saw it had a symbol just like him!
There were others like him? Were they ostracized like he was? He then noticed the boy and girl get between the creature and Chikorita, covering her.
Serena had sensed the Pokémon hiding in the bushes, but made no attempt to call out to it, sensing it didn't trust Trainers and was watching over the Chikorita, and made sure to do her best as she bandaged Chikorita up.
She had just finished when she sensed something coming straight for her and Chikorita. She had pushed Chikorita out of the way just in time, before whatever it was had crashed where she and Chikorita once were.
Ash had seen what happened and rushed over there. When he saw it, he saw a bipedal creature that had a closed-up pink bulb on its back. The skin color was blue, and it had vines on its wrist that it seemed to use as whips as it began to strike at the ground. Its mouth, however, seemed to be completely made up of fangs.
"Another Yummy!?" With that, Ash grabbed Pidgeotto's ball and released her, while Ritchie brought out Zippo, Misty brought out Surskit, Brock brought out Geodude, and Molly brought out Teddiursa, ready to protect Chikorita. The Yummy looked at them bored and growled out a sentence.
"Ah. The Rider targets and friends. As much as I want to take you out, I have been given orders to find the Hidden Pokémon Village, and destroy both the Shiny that lives there, and the place it calls home. I can sense the Shiny is around here, so please get out of my way!" Ash and his friends just glared at it.
"Yeah, like that's what you were doing while Serena was taking care of that Chikorita!" The Yummy, just looked more annoyed.
"She has been around the Shiny, and as such, knows where the Village is. All I must do is cut open its head and eat it to get the memories. Now either you move willingly OR I MAKE YOU MOVE!" It roared, swiping its whip arms, knocking everyone out of the way, and made a mad dash for Chikorita, who was petrified with fear. Serena had quickly grabbed Chikorita and covered her as best she could.
Ash had gotten back on his feet, ready to run over and help Serena when he saw a green blur bash right into the Yummy's stomach. He then was in for another shock.
It was another quadruped Pokémon, however, this one was more dinosaur like. It had a big green bulb on the top of its back, big red eyes, four legs that had claws on the end, and green skin. On the head, however, was a symbol of OOO as he had begun to call it. He pulled out his PokéDex to make sure it was what he thought it was.
"BULBASAUR. IT BEARS THE SEED OF A PLANT ON ITS BACK FROM BIRTH. THE SEED SLOWLY DEVELOPES. RESEARCHERS ARE UNSURE WHETHER TO CLASSIFY BULBASAUR AS A PLANT OR ANIMAL. BULBASAUR ARE EXTREMELY TOUGH AND VERY DIFFICULT TO CAPTURE IN THE WILD."
Ash couldn't believe it. He had met a Starter that had the symbol! He quickly got back to reality when the Yummy began to laugh.
"Well, I guess I don't need that stupid Chikorita anymore! My main target is here. Once I feast on your brain, you will lead me straight to the Hidden Village. Then I, the Ivysaur Yummy, will destroy every trace of that village!" The Bulbasaur growled at it, then sent a Vine Whip straight for it. The Ivysaur Yummy dodged then prepared his own version.
"Pidgeotto! Use Quick Attack, then Whirlwind!" Pidgeotto quickly slammed into his gut, then began to rapidly beat its wings, causing a ton of dirt to get kicked up, blocking the Yummy's view. Ash quickly looked over to Bulbasaur.
"Quick! Take Chikorita and run!" The Bulbasaur and Chikorita looked shocked. He then saw that the Ivysaur Yummy was getting its bearings back.
"GO! WE'LL MEET UP LATER IF WE CAN! WE'LL KNOCK THIS THING OUT AND THEN LOSE IT!" The Bulbasaur then used its vines to pick up Chikorita, who Serena noticed blushed at that, and then took one last look at Ash.
"GO!" He forced as Bulbasaur finally took the hint and ran into the bushes. He then looked at everyone else.
"Have everyone attack that thing, then I'll deliver the Coup de Grace!" Everyone nodded. Ritchie had Zippo use Dragon Rage, Brock had Geodude use Rock Throw, and then Misty had Surskit do its thing.
The thing being it ate spinach and punched it. It shook its head, only to see Ash rushing towards it, and drop kick it in the chest, launching it away.
"OK! Run for it!" Everyone took off, making sure that it didn't see where they were going.
Serena never noticed or felt a disc land on the back of her boot as she did so.
Bulbasaur had just managed to get back to the Village with Chikorita. After giving Chikorita to Melanie to check the gash the girl had bandaged up, as he then sensed that boy was on route to the Hidden Village.
That boy and little girl had Shinies with symbols. Could they be what he had been waiting for?
Well, they had to get past the traps first before anything could happen.
"HAHA! I'll bet Bulbasaur are crawling all over the place here!" Everyone just looked at Ritchie annoyed.
"Ritchie, that Bulbasaur likely was abandoned by his trainer, and is protecting other Pokémon. Even then, keep it down! We don't know if that Ivysaur Yummy is still around!" Ash whispered angrily as Ritchie covered his mouth. Everyone then saw a bridge, which looked rather old to be hanging over a wide gap straight to a river.
Everyone slowly began to go over it, since the winds were picking up, and the bridge felt that if they even BREATHED wrong, it would break.
"Brock, you're the one with the map. Anything on there that can help us out with our positions?" Brock was looking at it.
"Nothing. This place doesn't appear at all on the map." Serena then pulled out her town map.
"Same here. Seems we're in a dead zone for GPS." Suddenly, the wind began to pick up, and the bridge swayed very badly. Ash then saw the rope that was on the left side of the bridge beginning to break. Taking a quick glance back, he saw the rope about to do the same on the opposite side.
"GRAB AHOLD OF THE RIGHT SIDE!" He quickly grabbed Serena and Molly's hand and helped them grab it, unfortunately, not even he was fast enough to grab the rope.
The bridge lost all support on one side, with Ash and Serena holding onto the rope alongside Misty and Ritchie. Unfortunately, Serena didn't get as good of a hold as Ash did on the rope, and Molly and Brock were unable to grab the rope at all, with Brock holding onto the planks as best he could with Molly holding Serena's waist.
Finally, Brock slipped off the planks, and while Ash tried to grab her hand, Serena lost her grip on the rope and she, Brock and Molly plummeted into the river below.
"SERENA! MOLLY! BROCK!" Ash cried in despair seeing both the girls he cared very much for alongside a brother figure get swept away. He, Misty and Ritchie managed to get onto sturdier land, cut the rope to make sure that Yummy didn't follow them, and then followed the river, hoping that SOMETHING managed to catch their missing friends.
Bulbasaur had just refilled the water bucket from the river with Melanie and Chikorita and made sure to put some of his Magical Leaves into his, so that the injured Pokémon staying with them could heal up. They were about to head back when Chikorita suddenly bolted back to the river.
"Chikorita! Wait!" Melanie called out, with Bulbasaur following as well.
When they got to the edge, they all saw 3 people out of control in the river. Bulbasaur's eyes widened as he realized, they were 3 of the group he had seen earlier! Without even missing a beat, he threw out his Vine Whip to try and catch them, Chikorita doing the same. Thankfully the people realized it and managed to grab hold.
"Grab ahold of my hand!" Melanie called out, reaching out as far as she could, but the people instead of just reaching out, took the young girl and handed her to Melanie first.
"Is she alright!?" The blonde girl who had treated Chikorita asked. Melanie nodded and then held her hand out again. This time, the older male grabbed her and got her close enough to get grabbed. Then, he slowly maneuvered the vines and then grabbed the shore, and with Melanie's help, dragged himself out of the river.
"Are you three alright?" Melanie asked as she bent down to examine them.
"I'm fine, just a little winded, that's all." The male replied.
"I'll live, but what about Molly?" He could only assume the young girl was Molly, as Bulbasaur quickly examined her, though thankfully she was just knocked out from the shock of the drop and the impact from the river.
Ash, Misty and Ritchie had been running along the riverbank for a good 10 minutes, and it was already clear that someone didn't exactly want them there. Given how Misty had fallen down a pit trap, and Ritchie almost got them caught up in a net. Thankfully, the rope was close enough to them that Ash could break it.
Ash still didn't slow down. For all he knew, Serena and Molly couldn't get back up to breathe, or worse yet, that Yummy had found them, and was now trying to get the location of this "Hidden Village" out of them since they prevented it from learning it before.
They had started running towards some trees, when Ash saw that something was heading their way. He immediately stopped, with Pikachu quickly leaping off his shoulder. What came out of the clearing …
Was the Bulbasaur that they had seen earlier that had protected Chikorita.
"It's you from before! Hey, did you see 3 humans go down the river?" Bulbasaur quickly looked around, then brought out a vine and began to scribble on the ground.
"Yeah, two girls, one male, the young one being named Molly. Are they – "
"That's them! Are they alright!?" Ash asked, cutting Bulbasaur off, who then realized.
"Wait, you can understand me!?" Ash nodded.
"Yes! I'm an Aura user! But still, are they alright?" Bulbasaur then looked behind him, then motioned with his head. Everyone followed it, then they were surprised to see a single cabin in the woods, with a bunch of Pokémon around it, who were clearly afraid of humans as most bolted into the cabin. Bulbasaur then got in front of them.
"Before we continue, do you plan on catching any Pokémon here?" Ash translated, and they shook their heads.
"We won't do that, if any of them want to come with us when we leave, that's up to them." Bulbasaur had a surprised expression on his face, then took on a thoughtful expression as he led them to the cabin.
"It's alright! They are friends! You can come out now!" With that, the Pokémon came out, albeit very warily. Then they saw a blue haired girl come out …
With Serena, Molly and Brock coming out as well. Ash just happily ran over to the girls and hugged them.
Introductions later …
After learning that Melanie had set up the traps to try and protect all the injured Pokémon, everyone began to try and help, with Ash and Serena even bringing out their shiny Pokémon to help. Bulbasaur decided to take this opportunity to get some information.
"So, how long have you been with this Ash?" He asked Froakie, since he seemed to be the oldest out of them all.
"My whole life. I was hatched from an Egg when he and Serena had won a scavenger hunt. Because of how well we meshed, Oak and Sycamore decided that I could be one of the first Pokémon Ash had." Bulbasaur then decided to ask something else.
"Did he ever force you to do something?" Froakie then smiled and shook his head.
"No, Ash treats us all like family. If there is something that is uncomfortable to us, he will do it himself or do it where someone else can do it. He also doesn't force catch anyone. He gives them the choice. If they want to fight before joining, that's ok by him. Pardon me, looks like Melanie could use my Frubbles." With that, Froakie walked over to Melanie who then, indeed, asked for some of his Frubbles. Bulbasaur stared, then walked over to Pidgeotto.
"So, what's your story?" Pidgeotto then landed on the ground.
"I used to protect the weak and innocent Pokémon on Route 1, until a Fearow Yummy attacked a Spearow flock on their first day. Ash offered to release me, but I chose to stay with him." Bulbasaur, again, had his knowledge challenged directly. Here was a Trainer who did not force anything, who preferred treating his Pokémon as living beings. On top of that, he never forced a Pokémon to come with them, and the other ones he hatched from eggs that he had taken care of.
Could this Trainer be the one that he was searching for? But wait. They never told him what those Symbols were for.
"OK, but weren't you thrown out of your flock for being a Shiny and having that symbol?" Pidgeotto looked at him, then seemed to understand.
"No. I was raised in a flock, and they seemed to be amazed at my Symbol. I willingly left as I felt there was nothing much I could do there and ended up on Route 1. Then the Fearow Yummy appeared, and very nearly killed us. Until 3 fully evolved Shiny Starters appeared." Bulbasaur then took full notice.
"They were a Charizard, a Blastoise," She then looked at Bulbasaur with a smile, "and a Venusaur. You're wanting to know what happened?" Bulbasaur nodded.
"Then sit down for a bit, and I'll give you the full story."
With Chikorita, she was becoming amazed with Serena's Pokémon. Luca and Fennekin had told her how she didn't battle as much as Ash.
"So, what are these Contests and Performances?" Fennekin decided to answer.
"For Performances, instead of doing battles, the Trainer uses moves to make a spectacle, in a way, dancing alongside her Pokémon while calling out moves to make certain spectacles happen. For Contests, there is a battle challenge, but before that is the appeal round, where you try to appease judges with good looking moves." Chikorita then turned to look at Serena.
"So, she's looking for the best of the best I take it?" Luca then giggled.
"Nope! If the Pokémon wants to come with her, she'll take them! She doesn't force them to come." Chikorita then just thought for a moment.
A trainer who could help her out perhaps? But if that happened then …
She might have to say goodbye to Bulbasaur.
Ash had just helped a Staryu with some water, when Melanie came over …
With his belt.
"Hey Ash, this thing has been glowing for a while. What does it mean?" Ash looked at it, but it had never glowed like that before.
"I don't know, earlier this morning it seemed to be pulling us in the direction of the village. Maybe it's because of Bulbasaur?" Melanie then looked over at Bulbasaur.
"Ash, there is something I wanted to ask you – "She was cut off when an explosion suddenly occurred, blowing some of the injured Pokémon back.
"SO, THIS IS WHERE YOU WERE HIDING, ISN'T IT!?" Everyone tensed up.
Coming out of the woods was the Ivysaur Yummy, and it had an absolutely sickening grin.
"How did you find us!?" Ritchie yelled at it, as it then pointed …
To Serena.
"While you were busy trying to run and lose me, I threw a tracker onto her. Meaning that SHE is to blame for me being here!" While it was saying that Serena finally saw the tracker that was on her boot, horrified at the prospect of leading this thing here to the Hidden Village.
"And I didn't come alone." It said darkly as a figure plunged from the sky. Ash then tensed up …
When he saw a copy of his belt on the thing.
"Excellently done, Fushigisou Yummy. You have managed to track down my main target." A more regal version of the Combo Ash had used back at the start of the journey was standing in front of them all.
"You're King OOO? Funny, I thought you would have come face me when I first appeared instead of sending Blood Stark." King OOO then just chuckled.
"I would have, but I wasn't aware of your existence yet. And Blood Stark was the closest agent at the time, but let's hear it for delayed gratification, why don't we?" With that, King OOO then charged for Ash, but was blocked by Bulbasaur.
"You want to die first? Happy to oblige!" He suddenly created a whip and grabbed Bulbasaur around the neck, and then yanked him towards himself. Ash then tackled King OOO out of the area, while Melanie managed to usher in most of the Pokémon. Unfortunately, the Ivysaur Yummy then grabbed Chikorita, and then ran off, with Serena in pursuit.
Ash had just dragged King OOO out to an opening, where he finally released Bulbasaur.
"OK, now that we're away from them, let's tear it up!" He yelled, pulling out his belt. He put it on his waist, then tried to summon Pidgeotto and Froakie.
"Alright, let's do this!" But he then realized something. Froakie and Pidgeotto were nowhere to be found! He quickly looked where he threw the balls and saw chains on them.
"A little precaution. Only the Pokémon you had out BEFORE the fight can be summoned, not while you're fighting me or my Yummies. And since Fushigidane is the ONLY one here, you have no way of armoring up!" Ash and Bulbasaur's eyes widened, since the others were still over at the cabin, and Ash had purposefully returned Froakie and Pidgeotto to their balls so that he could make SURE that he had at least 3 Pokémon.
King OOO then shoulder tossed Ash into a tree, then sweep kicked Bulbasaur, grabbing him by the head when he stood straight up.
"Don't worry, you'll see Melanie soon. Hopefully, the afterlife is far more forgiving than I am of OOO." He then dragged Bulbasaur by the face on the ground and threw him into another tree. Ash had gotten back up and had tried to land a blow on King OOO, but he parried it, and then grabbed Ash by the neck.
"Hmph. I would say I was expecting a challenge, but then again, you didn't know about my little trick, so how could you have prepared. Now answer me this. Are you that Delia Ketchum's son?" Ash then remembered what Blood Stark had said about his mother.
"Yeah, but I doubt that she would even give you a cursory GLANCE, let alone be attracted to you!" King OOO …
Just laughed as his grip started to cut into Ash's skin.
"Oh, I don't doubt that. Not that it's going to matter much once I erase her mind and put my old wife's memories back in. Sorry, but I WILL have my wife back! Even if I must sacrifice your mother to do it!" Ash roared, then with the last of his strength, he kicked King OOO in the belt, finally getting him off.
"ASH! BULBASAUR!" Both of their eyes widened when they saw Melanie running into the clearing.
"NO! STAY BACK! YOU DON'T KNOW – "But it was too late. King OOO had rebounded and grabbed Melanie by the neck.
"Now you will do EXACTLY what I say, Ash. Either you direct me to where your mother is after I kill Fushigidane, or this girl GETS IT!" He emphasized by putting the blade near her throat. Ash looked at Bulbasaur saddened, but Bulbasaur did not get angry.
"It was short, but I wanted to know more. How to become a part of you, after what Froakie and Pidgeotto told me."
"Me too, Bulbasaur. I would have been touched to have a Pokémon as loyal as you." With that, Bulbasaur walked over to King OOO. Melanie now had tears in her eyes.
"Now sit there like a good boy, Fushigidane. I promise to make this quick and painless." With that, he brought out several Cell Medals, and they generated into a broadsword, walking to the side of Bulbasaur, and raising the sword like an executioner. He got the sword to the top, and then began to swing it down. Ash closed his eyes, not wanting to see the end of Bulbasaur.
He never heard Bulbasaur's cry of pain. What he did hear, though, was that something had gotten in the way of King OOO.
"What!? How is this possible!?" Hearing that, Ash looked up …
And saw the Venusaur that had helped him on Route 1, holding the blade with a Vine Whip. It threw King OOO across the field, then let a Razer Leaf attack loose, striking the sword out of his hand and nailing him to a tree.
That was before the Charizard from before suddenly threw a Flamethrower at him. It freed him, sure, but it was clear that he HAD felt the heat, even through that armor. Which became weaker when the Blastoise from before then hosed him down with Hydro Pump. Bulbasaur was shocked at the Venusaur …
Before they all started glowing. They then turned into Medals and flew into Ash's hand. He put them in the same configuration as before and swiped them.

FUSHIGIBANA!
HENSHIN!
LIZ~KA~FU! LIZKAFU. LIZ~KA~FU!

Ash felt the armor and the power up come back to him, as he glared at King OOO.
"What do ya say, King Douchebag? Round 2?"
"Thought you'd never ask."
With that, Ash and King OOO flung themselves at each other. King OOO might have been able to react, but it was clear that the Pokémon had done enough to slow his reaction speed. He had SOME trouble predicting all of Ash's moves, though it was clearly not enough.
Whenever Ash tried to throw a Razor Leaf, King OOO would bat it away before unleashing a Flamethrower from his helmet. Ash blocked it via the cannons on his shoulders, before getting some hits on the wrists. Then, King OOO got into a grapple with Ash.
"I must say, THIS is more like it! I prefer tearing down my opponent when he's fighting at his best! Now, SHOW ME HOW POWERFUL YOU CAN GET!" With that, he shoulder threw Ash, who BARELY managed to right himself and absorb the landing on his legs as he skidded. He was about to rush in when a box landed in front of him. Looking over, he saw James.
"Present from your uncle, Ash! Use it to beat him!" He called out as Koffing was distracting King OOO with Smog. Ash picked it up and opened it up. Inside, was a blade that had a window in the middle, and a lever for something, as well as a slot. He also noticed 3 Cell Medals in the middle. He then saw a note.
"This is the Medalcaliber. If you put three cell medals in the slot, you can use your scanner to do a special attack! Be careful, though, make sure that there are no civilians or Pokémon in the vicinity when you launch it. Go Team Rainbow Rocket, Nephew! Love, your uncle, Giovanni! PS: if you ever go to a new region by plane, mention me. You and your girlfriend will automatically get a first-class seat!" Ash just shook his head.
Now's not really the time to talk about going to other regions.
Still, he pulled out the saber and charged at King OOO, as James got Melanie out of harm's way. Bulbasaur quickly distracted King OOO with a Razer Leaf attack before Ash took a swipe with the sword.
It had an effect.
Said effect being that a gash appeared on the center of King's chest symbol, and he stumbled back.
Slotting the 3 cell medals into the lever, Ash pushed it down and then swiped his scanner over it.
TRIPLE SCANNING CHARGE!
The blade glowed white, as Ash then braced himself, not noticing that Bulbasaur was holding a glowing leaf in the same position.
ARRRRRRRR … SEIYA!
With that cry, Ash slashed the air, with Bulbasaur throwing the leaf at King OOO. When the attack connected, it looked like King OOO had been cut in half, same with the trees behind him. Suddenly they reconnected like something had fixed reality.
King OOO instead got an explosion right where he was standing.
Ash and Bulbasaur breathed heavily, then looked at one another. Ash knelt and held out his fist. Bulbasaur stared, then smiled and used a Vine Whip to fist bump him.
"FANTASTIC! ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING!" They both got on guard at hearing King OOO's voice. When the smoke cleared, he wasn't cut in half, but he didn't look to be in good shape. His armor had lost the regal touches on it, and the gold areas looked cracked. The mouth area had also been blown off, where a human mouth was.
And it was currently in the shape of a smirk.
"None of the other OOOs ever gave me such a surprise! I admit respect for your quick learning and on the fly thinking, Ash Ketchum! If you got this from your mother, it is such a shame I must erase her current personality before I put my wife's in." Ash growled at that, but before he could attack King OOO again, something crashed behind him.
MEANWHILE, WITH SERENA!
Serena had chased after the Yummy since it had grabbed Chikorita. She had chased it to some woods. She knew that she hadn't lost it.
"OK. Why did you grab her! She had nothing to do with this!"
"On paper, no. But my host was a trainer who had abandoned her old Chikorita after it lost to Falkner!" Serena just smacked her head.
"The Flying Type Johto Gym Leader!? Abandoning a Chikorita for THAT is enough to show she should have stayed in school! You can't expect a Chikorita to win by a landslide in that situation!"
"It doesn't matter! Only the strong Pokémon are allowed to exist in this world! Weak ones like that must perish! Her desire was to get rid of the filth! And as such, I intend to make sure that no weak Pokémon exist! Only the strong will be allowed the privilege to exist in this world!" Unfortunately for the Yummy, its blathering helped Serena track it down. Once she saw it hiding behind a tree, she dropkicked it, which made it release Chikorita. She caught her, and then ran. Unfortunately, the Yummy was slightly faster.
They had made it to a clearing when Serena was blindsided by the Yummy, who did not look happy.
"Nice attempt little girl, but ultimately, inconsequential. All you did was change the order I was going to kill you in. You first, then the stupid imp dinosaur!" With that, it raised one of the whips it had, and spikes came out of the whip. He then laid it down on the ground, and then slowly began to lift it up, with Serena feeling the spikes and the tightness increasing. Suddenly, it felt like the Yummy was blown back, and the whip was severed since she could breathe again without fear of the spikes.
When she got up, she saw what looked like a green brontosaurus Pokémon with a flower on its neck holding down the Yummy, then a large pink gecko humanoid like Pokémon with two blades on each of its arms and a bush like tail suddenly began to claw at it. It was knocked away as they turned to Serena.
The Brontosaurus one smiled and tossed something with its vines. When she caught it, it was a FullBottle, but with what looked like the Pokémon who had tossed it over. She then saw the pink gecko like Pokémon looking at her.
"WHY! WHY WONT THE WEAK JUST GIVE UP AND LET THE STRONG CONSUME THEM!?" Serena then pulled out her belt and slapped it on her waist.
"What you think is strong, is cowardice. Being weak doesn't mean it's the end of the world. All it means is that you can't take that specific path to getting strong. ANYTHING can be strong with the right training. What you and your host think is nothing more than forcing your own insecurities and fear onto something that doesn't deserve it! She NEVER deserved that Chikorita! You need to work with them to overcome their weaknesses. Throwing it out after losing to Type Disadvantage, shows that you know NOTHING of being a Trainer!" The pink Gecko seemed to like that, as it then tossed Serena something.
It was another Fullbottle, this time with the image of the Pokémon who tossed it, but green instead of pink. She then began to shake them, the familiar equations blocking the Yummy's attempts to get at her and Chikorita. She then slammed them in.
MEGANIUM!
SCEPTILE!
ELEMENTAL BEST MATCH!
With that, she immediately began to crank it. The pipes reappeared and filled in the two halves, one behind and one in front of her. This time, she clapped her hands together and put one in front of her while balling up the other one and bringing it close to her face, while the other remained palm open.
ARE YOU READY!?
This time, she had an answer.
HENSHIN!
She then crossed her arms, then spread them out again, as the form then slammed onto her body. When it was done, her right half had a sort of boa color made up of flower petals on her neck, the green going diagonally down to the feet that ended in a bit of a heeled boot, her helmet having an antenna on it. The other half, on the arm had a blade made of a grass blade, that boot ending in a clawed foot, with a gecko eye on that half.
THE POISONUS SPEEDSTER OF THE GRASS TYPE! MEGANIUM SCEPTILE! YE YE YEAH!
With that, she then stared down the Yummy.
"I'm going to show you just how powerful that training can be!" She challenged, getting into a fighting stance before charging at it. The Yummy, thinking he was unstoppable, tried to block her blade.
Only to find himself almost an arm short as it went through the top, getting his gut, and then Serena produced a whip on her other arm and tied it around his neck. She then heaved the other way, lifting it off the ground and finding himself being shot off like a slingstone into a tree. He roared with anger and made a mad dash for Serena, who waited until 3 seconds before he would have connected. She ducked and used the blade on her arm and cut right across the stomach region. She then got ready to charge when a present box suddenly landed in front of her.
"Consider that a birthday gift from Dr. Zager, Serena!" Looking to her right, she saw Jessie smirking with a thumbs up. Picking it up, she opened it up to find a phone-like device, and a drill-looking sword. She pulled out the sword first, when she saw the Yummy charging right at her, as she swung it. What she wasn't expecting was the drill part to spin, striking it across the chest and causing it to spin out. She stared at the saber until she saw a note inside the box.
"This is the Rotary Sword-Gun Drill Crusher, Serena. After studying the FullBottle from the last yummy, we have figured out how to harness the powers. By pulling the blade off and flipping it to its side, you can go to gun mode, where it fires concentrated energy bullets at the enemy. Put a FullBottle in the slot, and you can execute a Vortex Break, a lesser form of your Vortex Finish. Use it well.
The phone device is called the Build Phone. We are currently working on a way to turn it from a Phone into a Bike. It can function as a regular phone, in case we need to contact you, or can be used to find your way again, and many more functions.
Use these items well, Serena. You are the only one I trust to keep my Nephew safe and doing his duty.

Serena shook her head but smiled. Good old Giovanni. Life or death situation, yet he still makes you sure your gonna live through it!
Gripping the sword, she charged at the Yummy, who clearly was starting to lose his sanity, if he even had any in the first place. Flipping the sword to a back hand grip, she struck the Yummy in the stomach, then used her arm blade to slash it in the stomach. Then the two Pokémon charged and got some pretty good hits on it. Then, she saw a FullBottle fall from the sky. Grabbing it, she realized it was Fearow themed. Looking up in the sky, she saw a Shiny Fearow in the sky, that she almost mistook for her own.
The thing that was different …
Was that this one had a OOO symbol on it. Yet, it had a smile on it, that looked almost like her own.
She nodded and then pulled the blade off and flipped it on its side, plugging it into a slot on the front, making it look like a blaster. She then fired 5 shots at the Yummy, causing it to fall backwards. She then took the Fearow FullBottle and slotted it into the slot.
READY? GOOO!
With that, a standby music loop began to play, as she braced herself as best as she could, having no idea how big of a blast this was going to be. Then she pulled the trigger.
VORTECH BREAK!
The Pokémon leaped out of the way, as the Yummy now realized that a huge airstream was heading his way in the form of a condensed oversized bullet. It connected and a massive explosion occurred, causing it to be launched over the treetops. The Pink Gecko kneeled beside her, and she got on its back, as it rocketed forward, them never losing sight of the Yummy.
They saw it crash land in an open field, then saw King OOO was very badly damaged, with Ash holding a new Saber.
King OOO looked at the Yummy, then knew that they were outmatched.
Ash saw a new Rider but recognized it as Serena since the Build Belt was still on there.
"You ready to finish this, Serena?"
"Waiting on you Ash."
With that, Ash brought out the Scanner, while Serena began cranking her belt.
SCANNING CHARGE!
With that, Ash leaped into the air, performing the same attack that he did on Route 1.
READY? GO!
A new Physics sling appeared, and Serena leaped to the top of it, ready to end this fight.
VORTECH FINISH!
"NO! HOW CAN THE STRONG LOSE TO SUCH WEAKLINGS!?" The Ivysaur Yummy roared in anguish, when King OOO then laughed.
"Actually, there is a way to survive this." With that, the Yummy turned to him.
"How, my lord?" It asked, hoping to get out of this alive …
Only for King OOO to grab it and throw it at the heroes, then leaping away. The Ivysaur Yummy just stared at where King OOO had leapt to. It couldn't believe how he betrayed its trust like that. Then remembered Serena's words. It then, in a way, closed its eyes. It got trapped by the Sling, where Serena landed her kick to its stomach, then was kicked by Ash.
Finally losing the ghost, it exploded into Cell Medals, which Jessie, James and Meowth were quick to pop open some Candroid Hawks and have them gather up all the Cell Medals. Serena and Ash, however, were not celebrating. They had seen how easily King OOO sacrificed the Ivysaur Yummy, just to get away with his own life.
Bulbasaur stared, knowing exactly what that felt like with his old family, who tried to sacrifice him so that they could survive, only to be met with their end instead. Chikorita stared at both the smoldering remains where the Yummy had once stood, and at Serena, since she was ready to try and save her.
The 2 then looked at the final evolutions of themselves, well their species.
The Venusaur then smiled, and lifted the leaf on the front, and turned to the side. Bulbasaur was shocked at something on it, before it turned around to leave with Meganium.
Meganium had shown Chikorita something underneath its flower collar, which took her by surprise. They were both surprised when the Venusaur and Meganium then intertwined 2 vines together like how humans in love hold hands. Bulbasaur and Chikorita then looked at each other and blushed.
Suddenly, 5 portals opened, and the Pokémon went through them.
Once they had returned to everyone else, Ash went to check on the cabin and the Pokémon, thankfully none of whom got caught in the crossfire like Chikorita did. Melanie was ecstatic when she saw that all the Pokémon were alright.
"I can't thank you all enough! If there's any way to repay you, just name it!" When Bulbasaur heard that, he tensed up, remembering what Ash had said.
"No, there is no need to pay us back. If I see someone in need, be they Pokémon or human, I won't hesitate to reach my hand out." Bulbasaur was shocked. He had a golden opportunity to take him along, yet he chose to instead just accept the thanks.
"Then, can you do a request for me?" Ash and Bulbasaur turned to Melanie. She then bent down and picked Bulbasaur up.
"Can you take Bulbasaur with you?" Ash looked shocked and a bit horrified.
"But what about the village? Who would protect it?" Melanie smiled.
"I can understand your concern, but Staryu had been training to replace Bulbasaur as the defender. Besides, he has the symbol. Don't you want him in your party?" Ash then had a saddened look.
"Yes, but I don't want to just take him because of the symbol. Someone else had a Butterfree who had the symbol, who was the sister of my Butterfree. He offered me the same thing, but I chose to let them stay together. I will let this happen the same way. So, thank you, but I'll – "
"THEN I CHALLENGE YOU TO A BATTLE!" Ash was taken aback by Bulbasaur.
"I have had plenty of time to see how you are, and I never thought I'd say this in my life, but you're the kind of Trainer I want! But if you won't take me for these reasons, then I challenge you to battle!" Ash then smirked.
"Alright then, I will give you the chance to pick your opponent." Bulbasaur then smiled.
"I choose Pikachu, since I have already talked to Pidgeotto and Froakie." Ash then nodded, then motioned for the clearing where he fought King OOO earlier.
"Not near the cabin though. I won't risk the injured Pokémon there." Bulbasaur nodded then got into position on the other side.
(PLAY BURNING BATTLEFIELD FROM THE ANIME HERE UNTIL THE END OF THE FIGHT)
"Alright Pikachu! Use quick attack!" Pikachu charged at Bulbasaur, who used his vines to leap into the air, avoiding the attack.
"Strike one of them with an Iron Tail!" Pikachu then whirled around, turning his tail steel as he did and connected with his tail on one, causing it to wrap around his tail. He then yanked it back, causing Bulbasaur to connect with his face on it.
However, Bulbasaur then suddenly slammed into Pikachu's gut with a Take Down attack, getting the vine untangled as Pikachu skidded across the ground. Ash looked at the vines then had an idea. He saw Pikachu ready to dodge the vines.
"Pikachu! Let yourself get grabbed by it!" Pikachu looked at him like he had 2 heads, then suddenly understood. Bulbasaur then grabbed him and began to slam him down onto the ground. Ash then smirked.
"Pikachu! Use Iron Tail and ground yourself!" Pikachu once again turned his tail steel but this time when he was slammed into the ground again, he dug the tail in so that Bulbasaur couldn't keep lifting him.
"Now use Thunderbolt!" Bulbasaur was confused. He was Grass/Poison Type! Electricity wasn't going to …
Wait. His vines secret a sap that is the equivalent of human sweat when under …
Oh no.
Bulbasaur realized too late what the Iron Tail had been for. It had been to generate a conductive fluid that would lead DIRECTLY inside his body. He tried to pull his vines off Pikachu but too late.
Pikachu let the Thunderbolt loose, and thanks to the path along his sap, it hurt. It hurt a hell of a lot. Plus, get got super unlucky as the Electricity then caused him to get paralyzed. Ash saw this and pulled out a Pokeball.
"GO, POKEBALL!" With that, Ash then threw it, the ball connecting with Bulbasaur's stomach, turning him into red energy and being sucked into the Pokéball. He then held his breath.
One shake
2 shakes.
3 shakes.
Then the light went out and a ding happened. Ash then let the breath go, and slowly went over to the ball, just in case Bulbasaur broke out. He picked it up and let it out.
"YES! WE CAUGHT BULBASAUR!" With that, Pikachu did a two-finger salute, with his other Pokémon joining in.
"Thank you. And please take care of Bulbasaur." Ash then smiled at Melanie.
"Don't worry he's in good hands." With that, everyone left.
Everyone had gotten back onto a path, ready to leave the woods, when Serena suddenly looked behind her.
"I know you're following us. Please come out, Chikorita." Ash, Pikachu and Bulbasaur, who had been out since he had never seen what was beyond the forest, looked behind them, seeing Chikorita trying (and failing) to blend in with the forest surroundings.
"Why are you out here? Weren't you still healing?" Chikorita then looked at Serena, then nuzzled her leg.
"So, you wanted to come with me?" Chikorita nodded, then was shocked.
"It's really because you have a crush on Bulbasaur, isn't it? And yes, I'm psychic. And don't worry your precious Bulby baby can't hear us." Despite that, it didn't stop a blush from occurring on Chikorita's face, but she nodded. Serena then brought out a Pokéball. Chikorita tapped the button with her hoof, and was sucked in. It dinged immediately.
She then brought Chikorita out as well as her Fearow and Luca. Eevee had already been out at the time, and Fennekin was resting in hers.
"Everyone, meet our new member, Chikorita!" Fearow bent down and nodded at her, while Luca smiled and did a high Paw/Hoof thing with Chikorita. Serena then pulled out a white topped FullBottle.
"Well, at least now I can try and see if Zager's work is correct." She then held the top of the lid towards Chikorita, which caused green energy to come off her and into the bottle. When it stopped, the bottle, like what she did with Grason back in Viridian, had become a spiderweb like pattern on it.
"Alright, it works! Now we just need to figure out how …" She stopped when she saw Luca suddenly jerk. When everyone looked at Luca, they saw that her pupils had disappeared, and she looked to be in a trance.
Suddenly, she grabbed the bottle out of Serena's hand, and glowed pink. The bottle glowed a bright light, then began to change shape.
When Luca stopped glowing, the Bottle was now colored green, and the spiderweb design now looked like a Picture of Chikorita on the bottle. Luca's pupils then returned, and she saw that she was holding the bottle in her paws. Looking around it was clear she had done something but had no memory of what happened. Everyone then stared at one another.
What had just happened? And could she do that again if Serena got another one?
"So, the pink one purified the energies." Meowth said, as he was recording everything and sending it to Dr. Zager.
"HMM. Maybe it's because Luca is a Riolu, who are attuned to Aura, but I can't say for sure. I will send Delibird with the one we have been studying, maybe it can purify the energies as well. Also, for the Build phone, if she gets a Pokémon like an Arcanine, she can turn that into armor for the mon. We're having trouble finding a good power source to turn it into a bike that isn't nuclear fission. Keep us posted. I might add that feature to the Ride Vendors, now that I think about it." With that, Zager cut the communications.
AT MT MOON …
The Clefairy had just finished another moon ritual, when the lead Clefable then quickly sensed something going on the top of the mountain. It jumped up there, and saw a ball of energy expand outwards, then disappear, leaving behind 2 strange creatures.
"Is this the right time, Miraidon? I don't want to keep jumping around the time stream looking for OOO!" A black and white Dragon looking Pokémon asked. It ruffled its red, yellow and white feathers on its back while scratching what looked like a tire on its chest, standing up straight on two legs looking over the horizon.
"Positive, Koraidon. They are here, and Arceus has asked us to aid them. I need to talk with Build when I meet her. And from what I can get from this Clefable's mind, we have arrived the night of the day that Ash has captured Bulbasaur, meaning they will meet the next of the LIZKAFU combo Pokémon tomorrow. And I think it would be that way." A mostly white snake like Dragon Pokémon said as its chest, eyebrows and part of its tail glowed blue and yellow, and pulsated with energy. Koraidon nodded, then leaned forward as the feathers retracted into its body, and it then began running down the hill. Miraidon pulled the energy areas into its body, summoned a wheel on its chest and back, and drove itself like a motorcycle down after its companion.
They saw a ramp nearby and leaped off it, sprouting wings on their heads and flew off into the night sky. The Clefable was left stunned at what had just happened and the fact that the one calling itself Miraidon had just read her mind.
