Dumbledore's Mistake

Aries was already bored of school. Granted, he was learning more about some of the more mundane sides of everyday magic, yet he yearned to return to Grimmauld Place to make use of the Black Library. His desire to delve deeper into the Dark Arts only grew day by day, yet even when not at school he was limited in his study time due to supervising his forces and planning the takeover of the planet. He couldn't even begin to fathom how much he had changed in the last few months both physically and mentally. Months ago he wouldn't even contemplate using anything more than a stunner on a Death Eater, and yet now he would not hesitate to sacrifice millions of innocents to further his plans. Would his parents be proud of him? Probably not. Did he care? Not particularly. He never knew them, due to them choosing to stand up against a Dark Lord instead of running away.

Today however was the first Hogsmeade visit of the year, and Daphne had expressed her wish to spend time together on the trip, something Aries was more than looking forward to. Between his planning and his personal study times, he had not given her as much attention as he would have usually liked. He had yet to inform her of what Hermione had attempted to do, deciding against it due to the likelihood of Daphne cursing her something fierce. Not that the emotions of such an act would not be pleasurable for Aries, yet he had to think practically here. Walking arm in arm, they spoke of Daphne's family and her plans for the future. It seemed she was content to rule alongside Aries once he took power, something he readily agreed with.

Distinct loud cracks of apparition interrupted their little date, with over a dozen men and women in black robes, hoods and silver masks appearing in the street, all with their wands out and in formation. Aries immediately withdrew his wand in one hand and the lightsaber his Grandfather had given him in the other. He had yet to thoroughly practise with the Lightsaber, yet he figured it wouldn't hurt to have another weapon to hand. He still had a small blaster pistol hidden should he be disarmed, yet with all of the training he put in, he doubted it. Turning to Daphne he began relaying instructions, his tone commanding.

"Daphne, get back to the castle. Use the communicator I gave you and inform General Royce that we are under attack at Hogsmeade and require assistance. Emergency code Aurek, go now."

Daphne nodded once, pulling Aries in for a searing kiss, whispering into his ear "Be safe my love." before bolting up the street towards the castle. The Death Eaters, seeing her running away towards the school, raised their wands in unison.

"No!" The word was said softly, almost in a caressing manner. Yet it carried throughout the town as if bellowed, and the Death Eaters shuddered. There was power behind that simple two letter word, they could not explain it yet it was there, making them pause in thought. The voice returned, and they were frozen in place, watching a tall black clad figure stroll towards them calmly.

"You dare… you dare to disturb my quality time with my wife? You dare… to stand against me?" This time the words were whispered, yet seemed even louder than before. One of the Death Eaters on the right dropped her wand and let out a gasp, quivering in what appeared to be fear. Avery, who was leading the raid standing at the forefront of the Death Eaters, frowned. Rookies though they were, he knew these recruits personally and knew they weren't cowed so easily. And yet something was different. Something was very, very wrong.

Breaking the silence following Aries' words, one of the recruits on his left raised his wand with a sneer, however his voice quivered slightly.

"Y-you think you scare us, Potter?! Cruci-" The recruit stopped abruptly as he was about to finish casting the torture curse, his mouth now opening and closing like a fish, his eyes glazed over slightly. Before Avery could begin to ask what was wrong, the recruit flew towards Aries as if summoned, only to be impaled by a crimson blade through the chest. The Death Eaters stared in shock as the boy-who-lived simply withdrew the blade from the recruits chest, kicking him down to the floor before gazing back at them.

"Surely by now your Lord has informed you of my name change? My name is Aries Arcturus Black, and he was the first of your number to suffer my wrath. I do hope you are all eager to participate in a little… training with me? I have learned much over the last few months and yet… training dummies simply do not react the same way a live subject would… I take no satisfaction… there is not enough screaming!" The last word was hissed out in parseltongue, which was enough to cause the Death Eater who dropped her wand to apparate out in fear.

The rest of the Death Eaters raised their wands once more and began sending curses towards the Lord Black, a mixture of torture curses, killing curses, even an odd blood boiling curse. All of the curses seemed to simply dissipate into thin air before striking. Aries gave them all a toothy smile, looking almost feral as he began to advance on them.

"I see you are all willing to contribute. I am most grateful, I do say. Now, hello there Avery. Don't think you can hide behind that pretty little mask of yours my slippery friend. I remember you… screaming at the Dark Lord's feet… let's see if I can produce the same results!"

A burst of force lightning surged towards Avery who in his shock, did nothing to block the incoming attack. The result was a man screaming as if under the Cruciatus curse, his eyes rolling back and tongue lolling as the lightning fried him alive.

The other Death Eaters, upon seeing their leader on the ground in such agony, began apparating away, no doubt to report to Voldemort that their raid had failed. The last recruit was about to spin on the spot to apparate when what felt like a hand clenched around his throat, levitating him off his feet and towards Aries, who by now had finished with Avery, turned to face the recruit who by now was choking.

"Oh no no no… we can't have you all getting away can we? After all, I haven't yet had the chance to try out your master's favorite curse!" Contrary to the situation they were in, Aries' voice sounded what could only be described as excited, playful even.

"Ah well, no time like the present. Avada Kedavr-" Before he could finish casting, his wand flew out of his hand and over his shoulder. Twisting around with a face contorted in fury, Aries spotted Albus Dumbledore now holding his wand, with his own wand aiming at Aries.

"Harry, I have no doubt that you have saved lives here tonight in your defence of the village, but you have taken lives… lives that could have been spared, perhaps even redeemed! Now, let go of that man and follow me up to the castle, we shall speak of this in my office."

Aries stood there, gobsmacked at the Headmaster. Feeling the rage built inside of him and the dark side of the force twisting around him like a snake, he took a deep breath and allowed it to flow out of him. It would not do to go head to head with Dumbledore yet. However, he wasn't simply going to let the Death Eater get away, that would be an awful thing to do.

Shrugging, Aries twisting his fingers in a motion that the Headmaster did not recognise, noticing only when the Death Eaters neck snapped that Aries had broken the man's neck. Dumbledore stared in shock at the Lord Black, unable to quite believe that the kind boy he had known for 5 years had so casually taken another life.

Aries for his part, simply shrugged again. "You said to put him down. You didn't say he needed to be alive." This snapped Dumbledore back to the present, who raised his wand so fast even Aries did not see it coming. A stunning spell was sent his way, knocking him unconscious. Binding him, the Headmaster began levitating Aries back to the castle.

Scene Break

Aries began to wake slowly, his eyes struggling to remain open and his throat dry. Finally managing to keep his eyes open, he took in his surroundings carefully. Silver instruments lay upon a large well made desk. Ancient looking books stood in good order in bookshelves standing at the walls. And a very old and disappointed looking Albus Dumbledore in a plush looking chair behind the desk, staring intently at Aries.

Giving his head a final shake to wake himself properly, Aries returned the stare. And he began laughing. A true laugh, his eyes alight with amusement and tears of laughter running down his face.

The Headmaster looked positively baffled by the behavior. Clearing his throat, he began speaking in what was supposed to be a stern, lecturing voice.

"I fail to see what is so amusing, Harry. Especially considering the lives you have taken today."

This simply caused Aries to laugh even more, ignoring the fact that Dumbledore had called him Harry once again. Finally regaining his composure and coughing slightly, he began to speak in a very condescending tone that somehow told Dumbledore even before the words started spilling out, that things were going to be bad for him.

"Headmaster, considering you of all people now know what power I have under my command… did you really think it wise to subdue and capture… me? Do you really think you are untouchable here? Do you think that Imperial forces will hesitate due to the children that are in these walls?" Aries' eyes had now taken a crimson hue as he taunted the Headmaster, causing Dumbledore to pale even further.

"Surely you would not attack Hogwarts and put so many lives at risk…?" Albus asked faintly.

Aries cocked his head to the side slightly before giving the Headmaster a toothy grin. "I do believe you have made your bed, Headmaster. And I now feel you must lay in it." Aries glanced at one of the larger windows in the office before looking back at Dumbledore, his grin widening.

Before the Headmaster could ask what he meant, a loud blaring sound began blasting in the skies above Hogwarts and its grounds, the sound being heard for miles around. Dumbledore marched with a speed few would expect the old man to have towards the window and looked to the sky to discover the origin of the dreadful noise. However he did not see the sky there, only something that he could not believe could possibly remain in the air like that. It was huge, larger than Hogwarts itself, and it moved into position over the castle. He could only gape at the monstrosity, only half hearing what Aries was saying from behind him.

"That, Headmaster, is the Imperial-I Class Star Destroyer 'Ravager', and as the name would suggest, it would not have much trouble with the wards of this castle. So, I do think that it is safe to say that in daring to hold me as a prisoner… you are pretty much fucked."

AUTHORS NOTE:

Again, I cannot even begin to express how inexperienced I am when it comes to writing, so to see how many people seem to be enjoying this story is really humbling!

I have decided, with the help of a few of you guys, that instead of an extra pairing as such, Aries will simply have a little fun… if you catch my drift. He does and will continue to love Daphne, however he is still young, and on his way to being a powerful Sith Lord. Dude wants to use his power and the advantages and perks that come with power.

Also; The loud blaring noise heard at the end would be the Imperial Star Destroy Alarm, which in my opinion sounds dope.
