Chapter 2 enjoy
Natsu, with his friend Happy, ended up swinging by the capital to visit Hisui once a month.
Before they knew it, a year had passed since they formed a friendship with Hisui.
Currently, Natsu and Happy are waiting patiently for Hisui in her room.
Natsu is sitting in a chair with Happy on his shoulder.
Hisui was just slammed with another meeting. Natsu and Happy didn't have to wait much longer.
Her bedroom door opened, revealing the princess, who collapsed on her bed with a massive sigh.
"What happened this time?" He asked.
"Another adviser tries to set me up with another suitor!"
"Arrogant and snobby like all the others," It was Happy to speak this time.
"Yes!" She said she was mentally glad to have Natsu as a friend, one of the few people she could show her true self.
She made room for him to lay beside her on the covers.
"Want to talk about it some more?"
Hisui ponders Natsu's request for a few moments before complying.
She ranted and raved to him about all the crap she had to endure since his last visit.
"Feel better, bow?" He said
"Yes, sorry for unloading all my problems on you, Natsu," she said in defeat.
"Don't worry about what friends are for!"
"Now it's your turn."
Natsu goes on another of his famous rants about his jobs. He even played both sides of the conflict. Every time he did it, he got a giggle from Hisui.
When he finished his story, the sun was touching the horizon.
"Well, I better head to the barracks, or your father will have a heart attack!" He said with a sigh.
"Aye, Sir!"
The two stayed with Hisui for three days, Natsu walking toward the castle entrance with Hisui at his side.
Natsu wouldn't admit it, but he takes a few glances at Hisui every once in a while to admire her beauty.
The same goes for Hisui, admiring the well-defined muscle he spent countless hours building up from his jobs.
Happy is the only one aware of this.
The exceed doesn't hesitate to tease them when he's alone with them.
"By Hisui, I'll try and stop by next month!" He gave her a quick hug before he took off with Happy.
"By Natsu!" She waves him off. She turns to see Arcadios with a smirk on his face.
She looks away while fighting off a blush before running off.
Natsu and Happy continued visiting her at least once a month, depending on Natsu's job.
Their feelings for the other grew as time passed, though neither would admit it.
Many months later, Natsu formed a team with a new member named Lucy shortly after two guild members joined them. One is a black-haired man who can't keep his clothes in. The other is Titania Erza, queen of the fairies.
His team is on their way back after completing another quest.
They walked together as a group before Natsu abruptly turned around the corner.
Lucy thought about where they needed to turn till Erza continued going straight.
"Wait, guy, Natsu, where are you going, Magnolia? The other direction!"
"I know I'm going to visit a friend. I'll be back in a few days,"
"He or she must be pretty close for Natsu to go out of his way for them?" Lucy asked more of herself.
"Natsu!" This time, it's Erza to speak up.
"Yeah, Erza?"
"I've been meaning to ask this. How is Princess Hisui doing?" This caught Lucy's attention.
"Besides shooting down the umpteenth suitor sent her way, not much."
He is expecting Erza to say something. Instead, Erza looked down at her feet, clearly wrestling with her thoughts.
Natsu looks at Happy, who nods, confirming his suspicions.
"You want to revisit Princess Hisui, don't you!"
"Yes," Erza said in defeat. Natsu looks past Erza toward Gray and Lucy.
"I'm sure Hisui won't mind you, Erza, and possibly Lucy. Gray, however, is another story!" He said with a glare matched by Erza.
Gray took a nervous gulp, especially since Erza was backing up Natsu, of all people.
"I'm sure Hisui won't mind if nothing else, it will make for a great story when we get back to the guild!" Happy said from Natsu's shoulder.
The knight and dragon let out a chuckle at the mental image.
"In that case, I'll go straight to the guild!" Gray shouts before taking off, only to feel an armored hand on his shoulder.
This may help you break your bad habit, Gray! Erza said as she dragged Gray with her.
Lucy is blown away at the possibility Natsu has been friends with the princess this whole time.
With a new plan, the team Natsu headed towards the capital.
They made it to the capital by the end of the day, and Natsu took the lead.
As they inched closer and closer to the castle housing the royal family, Gray looked paler and paler. Erza had a small smile, getting a chance to see Hisui again. Lucy is trying to grasp Natsu is friends with the princess.
As they got closer and closer, Lucy noticed members of the runes night and royal guard eyeing their small group.
Then, a tall figure in the armor of the royal guard stood tall, forcing them to stop.
"Hi, Mark!"
"Good day, Natsu. Pardon me for asking, but these three, I assume, are guildmates with you?"
"Yes, I planned on being me and Happy, but they also wanted to see her."
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind because we expect them to be on their best behavior!"
"Good thing Erza's here then!" He said with a smirk as he glanced toward Gray and Lucy, backed up by the redhead herself.
Mark politely stepped out of the way, allowing Team Natsu to continue.
As they step closer and closer to the castle, Gray and Lucy get more and more anxious.
Once they entered, Natsu nodded towards one of the guards, who bounced back.
Natsu's spot on one of the pillars. "Now we wait for Hisui to show up."
They didn't have to wait long before the green-haired princess of Fiore graced them with her presence.
"Natsu, nice to see you again, and you too Happy!" She said, walking up to them. His team quietly observed the trio,
"You too."
"Aye, Sir!"
"I'm hungry. mind if I stop by the diner real quick?" This gets a giggle from hisui
"Sure." Taking the lead, they head toward the diner hall, where the castle chef prepares meals for them all.
Natsu proceeded to fill her in on what happened since his last visit. Hisui was giving him her full attention as he went on and on. He ended his rant, allowing her to speak.
As Erza watches this, she has a slight smirk, pleased knowing Natsu has matured a lot since they were kids.
She looks at her two teammates and wants to know what they think.
Gray is nervous since he's in the presence of the princess. He's doing his best to keep his bad habits in check.
Looking at Lucy, she has a stunned look in her eyes. It is clear to the redhead knight she is still wrestling with the idea Natsu is a close friend to Princess Hisui of all people. She did her best to stifle a giggle at Lucy's reaction.
Just then, Hisui let out an annoyed sigh. "Again!" Natsu spoke louder than he should have.
This got the three's attention, especially Erza, who had a slight glare matched by Natsu.
Then Hisui finally noticed Erza and the others, only to blush, completely unaware. They came with Natsu.
"Is something wrong, Princess Hisui?" Erza said, completely ignoring her blush.
"Hisui got another suitor pushed onto her…again!"
Erza has mixed emotions hearing this. The most obvious is confusion.
A glance at Hisui told him she was still fired up from it.
"Hisui had many suitors ask for her hand like any princess would. Every single one of them was only interested in getting favor with Toma, not Hisui as a person," Natsu informed, getting nods of understanding from the Scarlet Knight.
Her understanding quickly morphed into irritation as she banged cover her eyes as dark aura enveloped her.
Natsu and Hisui shared a smirk. "I just remember he's still in the castle since he planned on staying a few days in case I change my mind." Erza's expression changed once again into a sinister smirk.
"Follow me, please." Hisui led them to the man's quarters.
She knocked on the door moments later, and the door opened, revealing a man the same height as Natsu.
He has jet-black hair, black dress pants, shoes, a white undershirt, and a black blazer.
"Ah, Hisui, I see you've reconsidered my proposal."
"The answers are still no, Tim!" She steps aside, revealing Natsu and Erza. "My best friend, Natsu Dragneel, and his guildmate Erza Scarlet are both from the fairy tail guild!"
The man in question took a nervous gulp, knowing the reputation of Fairy Tail.
Before he could formulate a response, he felt a sharp pain in his gut. The cause is Natsu Dragneel. As soon as he pulled his hand away, he felt an armored hand on his shoulder.
"Natsu gets his stuff."
"With pleasure."
Erza dragged an arrogant asshole to the castle entrance with her immense strength.
She held him up before punching him with another armored fist. She sent him flying to the bottom of the stairs. Natsu threw Tim's stuff at him, landing beside him.
When he finally gets to his feet, he's met with the combined fury of Natsu and Erza staring him down.
That's not the worst part. Tim sees something few are unfortunate to witness when facing Natsu's wrath.
Behind Erza and Hisui stands a terrifying fire dragon staring him down. To make matters worse, he can see The dragon's Maw barely holding back flames from him.
Erza steps forward, standing overhead with red eyes. "I have a message I want you to deliver to anyone trying to weasel their way into power through Princess Hisui. They will have to go to Me and Natsu. Do I make myself Clear!"
"Yes, Yes, a thousand times, Yes!" He said in a haste before taking off back to who knows where.
"Thank you, Erza," Hisui said with a slight bow.
"My pleasure Princess"
"Erza,"
"Yeah, Natsu?"
"Check on Gray!" He didn't get a response from the woman as she disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Natsu and Hisui casually walk back to where they left gray.
"Gray!" Erza shouts at the top of her lungs from around the corner
Natsu ran up head to check on the situation. He burst out laughing and pointing his finger.
Hisui catches up to him, peeking around the corner before giggling at the display.
Before them is Gray fullbuster in nothing but his boxers, surrounded with long pointy swords at him with Erza's blade inches away from Gray's throat.
Hearing laughter, they look at Natsu with Happy, laughing their buts off with a giggling Hisui next to him.
"You have ten seconds to get your clothes on, Gray, or you're the royal guard's problem," she said, leaving no room for argument.
Gray was fully dressed in record time but now without two guard members at his back.
"Well, it's getting late. Come on, Gray, the barracks have two beds ready for us," he said, dragging his guildmate. Two guards followed them.
"What about us?" Lucy asked for Natsu's attention. He stopped taking a moment to think.
"I can handle Erza and Lucy Natsu."
"Thanks, Hisui, come on, Happy."
"Aye, Sir," he flew to his slayer's shoulder.
Erza and Lucy look to Hisui, wanting answers. With a finger, she gestures to them to follow her.
"Hope you don't mind staying in my room tonight. The female guards will eat you two alive, well, one of you!" Hisui and Erza's gaze shifted to Lucy.
"I don't mind"
"Same here," Lucy squeaked.
When they finally reached her room, Erza and Lucy quickly noticed a large futon on the floor.
"I had one of the guards drop this off so you don't have to sleep on the hard floor." She said as pink dusted her cheeks.
Once they got settled in, Lucy spoke up, "Princess."
"Just call me Hisui." Erza and Lucy gave her faraway looks.
"That's an order!"
"Ok…Hisui, how did you and Natsu?" she couldn't find the words to continue.
Hisui giggled at this. "if you must know," she recounted her first encounter with Natsu and the conversation with her father during Natsu's first visit.
"Since they visit me at least once a month, other times, Natsu stops by after a job."
Hisui quickly noticed a formulaic look in Lucy's eyes. She looks to Erza for an answer.
"Lucy!" The girl in question squeaked in response.
"Yes?" She said shakily.
"You better not be plotting to use Hisui for your gain!"
"What would give you that impression!" She said nervously.
"Often complaining about losing on reward money from Jobs and blaming Natsu!" She said with a glare.
"Me, Natsu, and Dad have had this conversation many times, and Natsu has politely refused every time!" This gets a nod of approval from Erza
Hisui joined Erza with a glare of her own.
"Hehe, I would never do that!" The two didn't let up on their stairs.
"I don't know about you two, but I'm getting exhausted!" She said, lying down facing the other way.
Erza and Hisui shared a giggle before calling it a night.
The following day, they met up for breakfast. The two guards still need to leave Gray's side. Both still have weapons at the ready.
It didn't help; the others let out the occasional chuckle at his situation.
With Hisu taking the lead, Erza, Gray, and Lucy explored what the capital offers.
Team Natsu ended up staying with Hisui for a total of three days before heading back to Magnolia.
The group stands at the front entrance of the castle.
"Hisui, will you be in Magnolia for the harvest festival?" Natsu asked.
"If nothing major comes up, sure," she said with a smile.
"Fingers crossed!" He said before waving her goodbye.
By the end of the day, team Natsu returned to Magnolia.
In true Natsu fashion, he stands at the front doors before kicking them open, shouting, "WE MADE IT BACK ALIVE!"
His three teammates shake their heads at Natsu's antics.
He found his spot at the bar, ordering a drink as teammates found seats next to him.
"So, how was your last job, Natsu?"
"Wasn't too hard with five of us!" Happy shakes his head in approval, getting a giggle from the barmaid. She hands him a fish along with a Natsu drink.
"We paid a visit to Hisui once we were done," Natsu said after sipping his drink.
"Wait, as all of you as a team went?" Mira said with wide eyes.
Natsu looked to his teammates to fill Mira in, and Gray and Lucy were silent. Erza had no problem telling Mira the finer details.
She had a massive giggle fit hearing about Gray having two guard members on his tail for two days.
Then Mira looked at Lucy with an amused expression. Lucy blushed so hard it rivaled Erza's hair color.
"Besides being wrong to rely on Hisui and the king to bail the guild out of trouble." Mira would have continued but decided to leave the rest to Erza.
"Natsu friendship with Hisui is practically common knowledge among guild wizards. That led many to claim the royal family is playing favorites with fairy tail." many members cringed at Erza's words.
"By refusing their help, you strive to prove the opposition wrong?" Lucy asked.
"Yes!" Natsu and Erza said in unison.
"Anyway, Hopefully, Hisui will be able to make it to the harvest festival this year." Natsu declared, getting many cheers.
Before they knew it, the harvest festival was only days away.
Hisui silently thanked Erza and Natsu for helping deal with another suitor.
Her father especially liked how Natsu and Erza felt about the previous one.
Before their help, she had one sent to her every few weeks. Now, only a few people have come asking for her hand.
This unintentionally gave Hisui more free time to herself. Giving her the chance to visit Magnolia for the harvest festival, Especially the Fantasia Parade.
She sat by herself in the royal coach on her way to Magnolia. They were only a few hours away when they abruptly stopped.
Fearing another attack on her. Two blades slipped out from the sleeves of Hisui's shirt, one in each hand.
She started channeling fire magic into them to increase their damage.
She and Natsu did more than talk during her visits. He helped train her in hand-to-hand combat and taught her fire magic.
She uses it to enhance the two blades she always keeps on her.
She carefully opens one of the window curtains just enough to look outside.
She sees Arcadios talking with a member of the guards. Then she remembered he was sent to tell Fairy Tail she was coming to Magnolia.
She carefully stepped out of her coach. "What's going on?"
Arcadios walked up to Hisui. "There had been some trouble in Magnolia. The only thing we know for sure is that fairy tail members are fighting against each other."
"What else is new?" she said casually.
"This time, it's different. A rune barrier surrounds the city, " the guard from earlier said.
"If memory serves, then it must be freed's magic," hisui said with her hand on her chin.
"Most likely"
"I just hope everyone is ok," she said before returning to her coach.
Within hours, they got news it was safe to enter Magnolia.
Before long, Hisui stood outside the fairy tail guildhall before walking in, getting all eyes on her.
Erza walked forward. "Princess, what are you doing here?"
"I heard what happened. I came to check on...your guild." She said, looking away.
They all shared a smirk, causing her to blush. "Natsu right over here!" Erza led her to the bench holding a heavily bandaged Natsu and Gajeel.
"Natsu!" She rushes to his side. "What happened?" All she got in response was a series of muffles.
Gajeel decided to translate to bring her up to speed with today's events.
Natsu made room for her to sit down. Everyone was amused at this as she never left his side for the remainder of the night.
The only exception was during the parade with Natsu doing his fire display.
