*WORK STUDY* TW WARNING

It had been a seemingly ordinary day at U.A. With students engrossed in their training and classes. Sakura, always determined to prove herself despite her lack of a quirk, had been on a work-study assignment alongside some of her classmates. They were helping with a rescue mission, assisting Pro Heroes in a real-world scenario.

But the mission took an unexpected and dangerous turn when a villain ambush left Sakura injured. Her leg, and arm were badly hurt, and she struggled to maintain her composure.

Amidst the chaos, Death Arms, one of the Pro Heroes overseeing the mission, caught sight of Sakura's injuries. He was known for his brash and harsh demeanor, but instead of offering support or aid, he sneered and let out a cruel remark.

"Well, well, it's our quirkless wonder," Death Arms taunted, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Looks like you've managed to get yourself hurt again. I suppose that's all you're good for, isn't it?"

Sakura winced, not just from the pain in her limbs but also from the hurtful words of the Pro Hero. She had always been a target of ridicule for her quirkless status, but this blatant insult cut deeper than most. That's when David, who had been observing the mission from the command center, witnessed the cruelty inflicted upon Sakura. Something inside him snapped, and he could no longer contain the fury that surged within. Once the scene was secured, and the heroes were briefing the police. Death arms was still ridiculing Sakura while she was getting patched up "You quirkless children should not be going to the hero course, you should go to a general education course, or just be a home maker." The words stung Sakura, as tears started to flow.

"STOP YOUR CRYING!" Death arms yelled, as he was about to slam his hand down on the table next to her.

"ENOUGH!" David's voice thundered across the scene, his usually calm and gentle demeanor replaced by a commanding presence. The sudden volume startled the other Hero's, and students. "Death Arms, you have a responsibility as a Pro Hero to protect and uplift those in need, not to belittle and mock them. Your behavior is unacceptable!" The other students and Pro Heroes turned to look at David in astonishment. They had never seen him like this before, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination to protect his 'daughter.'

David stepped forward, his gaze locked onto Death Arms. "Sakura may not have a quirk, but she possesses strength, determination, and a heart full of courage. She is worth more than you could ever understand."

Sakura, despite her pain, felt a rush of gratitude and warmth at David's words. He had not only defended her but had done so with a passion and ferocity that left her in awe.

Death Arms, taken aback by the unexpected transformation, could only mutter a begrudging acknowledgment before turning his attention back to the mission.

As Sakura was attended to and her injuries treated, she looked up at David with tears in her eyes. "Thank you. You stood up for me when I couldn't stand up for myself."

David knelt beside her, his anger replaced by a comforting presence. "Sakura, you're like a daughter to me, and I'll always protect you. No one should ever make you feel less than the incredible person you are."

"Shit. I feel bad for that girl." A pair of officers were walking by "Death arms just let the Villain through so he could attack her." Sakura started shaking in fear.

"Yea... especially with that villain has a pension for Assaulting Female hero's" Before, he could finish a hand slammed on his shoulder the officer's turned finding a terrifying sight.

*COMMAND CENTER*

Death arms was talking to other heroes while waiting for the lead hero to arrive. "Where is..." Before he could finish the door flap opens showing a commanding figure. Cathleen Bate.

*MEDICAL TENT*

"What..." David's grip crushing the Kevlar vest the officer was wearing. "Did you say." The three words brought a chill to everyone in the area, the gentle counselor was know far and wide as "U.A's Mama-Bear" and now that bear was here.

"D-D-Death arms let the villain through... I-In hope for him to A-Assaul-." Before he could finish David was already striding towards the Command Center. "SIR!"

Sakura watched her "Dad" walk away looking like he would kill someone.

David's eyes hard focused on the Command Tent. David's anger had erupted like a volcanic explosion, his protective instinct for Sakura overpowering his usual calm and composed demeanor. Death Arms, the Pro Hero who had insulted Sakura, was left stunned by the mans entrance into the tent. The students and other heroes watched in shock as David confronted the brash hero.

With a menacing aura, David approached Death Arms, his voice showing a fury that no one could have seen come from the gentle man. "You will never understand the strength and courage it takes for someone like Sakura to stand in the face of danger without a quirk. She is worth more than any of us can comprehend." His fists tight and unyielding, unleashing a strong strike to his face. "My name is Staff Sargent David Foster!" Standing over Death Arms. "I was called The Grey Man!" taking a seat on his chest staring into his eyes. Leaning with murderous intentions in his voice "Did you know. That more than half of the bones in your body are in your hands and feet." as David stands up to loom over Death Arms "Come near my daughter again, and I will break Half your bones in your body." David pulls his fist back, with a glint of gold.

"Stop him!" Another Hero tackles David showing the counselor had a pair of spiked brass knuckles on his hands.

But before David could take any further action, a powerful presence intervened. Star and Stripe, a renowned and respected hero, appeared between David and Death Arms, her gaze stern and commanding.

"That's enough!" she declared, her voice like thunder. "We are all on the same side here. Violence is not the answer."

David's rage had clouded his judgment, his arms still being held back by his students and other heroes. He was breathing heavily, his anger bearing its fangs.

Star and Stripe turned her attention to Death Arms. "We are heroes, and we must uphold the values of compassion and empathy. Drag this retired hero out of here, i have no idea why he is even here." The implications in her voice hinting at the unconscious heroes future.

Death Arms, chastened and humiliated, was dragged away.

But as the tension began to dissipate, David's fury lingered, and he couldn't contain the torrent of emotions that had been unleashed.

"You…" David's voice was filled with venom as he turned to Star and Stripe, his usually gentle eyes now ablaze with anger. "You talk about compassion and empathy, but do you even understand what that means? You don't know what it's like to lose everything because of your own mistakes!"

Star and Stripe, taken aback by David's outburst, looked at him with a mixture of surprise and concern. "I don't know what you're talking about."

David's chest heaved with rage as he spoke, his voice trembling with emotion. "You look just like my ex-wife, the woman who left me and took our daughter away. You remind me of the pain and regret I carry every day."

His words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of his past. The revelation left those around him in stunned silence, the intensity of his anger and pain reverberating through the tent.

As David struggled to regain his composure, he realized that his rage had not only been unleashed on Death Arms but had also exposed a deeply buried wound from his past. The confrontation had revealed a side of him he had long suppressed, a side that carried the scars of a shattered family and a heartbroken father.

As the heroes and students tried to process the revelation, David turned and walked away, leaving behind a conflicted and emotionally charged scene.

The tension from the earlier confrontation with Death Arms still hung in the air as David and Sakura found a quiet corner of the medical tent to sit together. David's emotions were raw and unsteady, and Sakura, ever the compassionate soul, was worried about him.

Sakura placed a gentle hand on David's shoulder. "David, are you okay?"

David took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "I'm sorry, Sakura. I didn't mean to lose control like that. It's just… seeing that hero, it brought back memories of my past."

Sakura looked at him with understanding, her brown eyes filled with empathy. "You don't have to explain if you don't want to, but I'm here if you ever want to talk."

David wiped away a tear that had escaped his eye. "Thank you, Sakura. You've been such a source of support for me, and I'm grateful for that."

As they sat in silence for a moment, David's hand trembled slightly. He took a deep breath and then pulled a folded piece of paper from his pocket. Unfolding it, he placed it on her lap here eyes landing on the form.

Sakura's gaze shifted to the paper, and her curiosity piqued. "What's this, David?"

David's voice quivered as he spoke. "It's adoption paperwork, Sakura. I've carried it with me for years. It's the paperwork from when I adopted my daughter."

Sakura's eyes widened in surprise. "You adopted your daughter?"

David nodded, his emotions threatening to overwhelm him. "Yes. She was my world. I adopted her when she was just a baby. I raised her, loved her, and watched her grow into a remarkable young woman."

Sakura listened intently, sensing the weight of the story David was about to share.

"But one day," David continued, his voice cracking, "my work, my obsession with success, it all took a toll on my marriage. I became distant, just like I was with my now ex-wife. She felt like I was abandoning her."

Tears welled up in David's eyes as he recounted the painful memories. Sakura placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, offering silent support.

David's voice trembled as he revealed the most painful part of his story. "Eventually, She left. She couldn't bear to be with me anymore, and I couldn't blame her. I lost my daughter, Sakura. My own mistakes cost me the one person I loved the most."

Sakura's heart ached for David, and she gently squeezed his shoulder. "I'm so sorry, David. That must have been incredibly hard for you."

David nodded, tears now freely flowing down his cheeks. "It was, Sakura. It still is. Every day, I carry the weight of my past, the guilt of losing her. I can't change what happened, but I can make sure I don't make the same mistakes again."

Sakura reached for the adoption paperwork and examined it. "David, I hope one day you can find a way to reconnect with your daughter, to mend what was broken. And until then, you have a family here at U.A., and I'm proud to be a part of it."

David's eyes met Sakura's, and he managed a small smile through his tears. "Thank you, Sakura. You've become like a daughter to me, and I'll do everything in my power to protect and support you. You've given me hope when I needed it the most."

David had shared his painful past with Sakura. As they sat together, their hearts heavy with the weight of their shared experiences, David felt a growing desire to provide Sakura with the love and support he wished he could have given to his own daughter.

"Sakura," David began hesitantly, "I know it's a big decision," David pulls out another piece of paper and unfolds it "and I don't want to rush things, but I can't help but wonder... would you consider being my daughter, officially?"

Sakura's eyes widened in surprise and hope. She had come to see David as a father figure, but this offer took her aback in the most wonderful way. "David, I would be honored to be your daughter."

Their heartfelt moment was unexpectedly witnessed by Midnight and some of the other teachers who had been passing by. Midnight, known for her playful nature, couldn't resist chiming in with a sly grin.

"Well, well, it seems like we've got a heartwarming family moment right here," Midnight said, her voice filled with amusement. "What do you say, teachers? Are we witnessing the birth of a new family?"

Thirteen, Aizawa, and Present Mic exchanged surprised glances but then offered warm smiles and nods of approval. They had all come to know and care for Sakura, and they recognized the genuine bond between her and David.

Present Mic chuckled. "I'd say that's a fantastic idea! We've got ourselves an official father-daughter duo!"

Aizawa, who was usually stoic and unemotional, offered a rare smile. "David, Sakura, you both have our support. You're family now, officially."

Thirteen, their black hole-like helmet betraying no emotion, simply nodded in agreement.

David and Sakura exchanged grateful glances, their hearts warmed by the acceptance and support of their colleagues. It was a moment they would cherish forever.

As they walked away, David and Sakura embraced their newfound family status, knowing that they were no longer alone in this world. Their journey had brought them together, and now they had a family at U.A. A family forged not by blood but by shared experiences, love, and a deep sense of belonging.

Sakura tilts her head up looking at David. "David..." Her quiet voice causing David to look at her "Can I call you Papa." Her embarrassment glowing on her face.

"I would love that." David hugs her putting every bit of fatherly love into it. "My little bunny"
