Obi-Wan Kenobi had only met Anakin Skywalker a few months ago, but he thought he knew him pretty well. It had been something that he had to be good at, reading people, when he had been a Jedi, and something he needed to make sure he was still good at, now that the Republic had fallen—the Old Republic. It had been ten years, and that time had passed by both incredibly fast and incredibly slow.
Anakin had only been fourteen when Palpatine and Count Dooku had overthrown the Jedi Council and then proceeded to pull apart the Senate and spread their destruction through the Republic before moving onto the rest of the Galaxy. While Obi-Wan's entire world fell apart around him, Anakin's world remained as pained and enslaved as he had always known it—Tattooine more than happy to take on any agreement needed with the emerging Trade Federation. It had been another two years before Anakin and his mother, Shmi Skywalker, had been brought by a man named Cliegg Lars, who had released them both and married Shmi. Obi-Wan had still been running then, trying to pick up any fraying pieces of his old life and find any connection he could, while Anakin was just getting his first taste of freedom.
Obi-Wan found himself in Naboo when he was thirty, six years after the fall of the Republic. It had been somewhere he'd had a lot of missions with his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and fond memories with a Chiss man, his red eyes always stoking something inside Obi-Wan that he'd needed to push down for so long. Anakin had gotten there only a year later, actually, when he was twenty-one, but Obi-Wan hadn't met him until later. Anakin was an incredible mechanic, could fix anything he put his hands on, and all he wanted was to get away from the planet that had kept him a prisoner. He loved his mother dearly, but he rubbed shoulders negatively with Cliegg and his son, Owen Lars, regularly, who was Anakin's age. He forced himself to get along with them because he was appreciative of everything they had done for him and his mother, but he got out of there as soon as he could.
He lived with his best friend, Padmé Amidala, who he'd met on his first night on Naboo, and while his registered profession was as a mechanic, he made a large percentage of his income by illegal races and occasionally smuggling for the Rebellion. He and Padmé had slept together for a while but it seemed as though it had only been friendly, there was never anything but love when he spoke about her.
He didn't like sand—Obi-Wan had almost laughed at the pouty expression on his face when he had said that.
He was kind, and filled with love and passion, and funny—and also had a fiery temper that flared up out of nowhere at times.
He had been through hell and back and seen things that no one ever should, and he still had more to give.
And he was so, so willing to give that to Obi-Wan, barely any questions asked.
Obi-Wan didn't deserve him, but he couldn't stop himself.
Anakin was sitting on the floor of his home—a place much nicer than anything Obi-Wan had ever dreamed of as a Jedi. He had one leg folded underneath him and the ties of his shirt were loose, showing off his sun-kissed chest. He was smoking a mix of herbs, his eyes already had a glaze over them, and as his senior, Obi-Wan often wondered—maybe wanted —to chide Anakin for his choices, but then again, who was Obi-Wan to talk.
With the things that Obi-Wan had done over the years, even in the name of the greater good, and some of the things he did now made him cringe and turn away. He tried to stay away from anything too dangerous or close to the Empire, but he had definitely worked for several criminals before. Gods, he was a criminal—technically a traitor now.
It did get a little difficult, with how close he was with Anakin now, and how involved with the Rebellion Padme was, and by extension, Anakin, but for some reason, he had easily been able to reason away that that was a risk worth taking.
Obi-Wan couldn't help it, the way he gently scolded Anakin when he reached for the pipe for a third time, and even though Anakin sulked, he listened and put it back down.
"Yes, Daddy," he grumbled under his breath, a title he'd been using more and more often, throwing it out so casually Obi-Wan had to fight not to choke. He wasn't sure if Anakin knew how badly he was affected but Anakin had to know to some degree.
He was too smart to miss it.
Every time Anakin got a little sassy and let the word roll off his tongue, it got harder to hold himself back from reacting.
After that incident, it only took another two weeks before Obi-Wan snapped, shoving Anakin against the carved bench in his kitchen and demanding he apologise for his tone. Anakin fucking whined , a gorgeous pretty whine from those sinful, pink lips, and he'd lunged forward to attack Obi-Wan's mouth.
"Daddy," Anakin whimpered, his eyes half-closed as he leaned into Obi-Wan's touch, completely unashamed of how needily he was seeking the older mans touch.
"Mmhm?" Obi-Wan prompted with an arched eyebrow as he stared at Anakin with his relentless, icy blue eyes, and Anakin sucked his lower lip into his mouth as he stared back at Obi-Wan. "What do you need?"
"You," Anakin didn't hesitate from replying and Obi-Wan's lips curled upward.
He was cute, fucking cute.
"Yeah? Me? Is that all?" Obi-Wan teased lightly.
"You're everything ," Anakin breathed and Obi-Wan's eyes widened, his lips parting in surprise. Anakin just blinked up at him, eyes darting down to Obi-Wan's mouth, as though not realising how important those words were.
Obi-Wan hadn't held back.
He'd fucked Anakin on his bed that day, splaying him out and marking his body all over, turning on the lights in the corners of the room once the sun went down so that he could still see every inch of Anakin's body. He wasn't sure how many times he made the younger man cum, but he made sure to clean him down thoroughly once Anakin passed out against the blankets.
Obi-Wan hadn't been sure how long he was planning on staying in Naboo—he hadn't been settled down anywhere for longer than six months since the fall of the Republic, so it had already been longer than usual. But then a year passed, and even though he would leave for some longer periods when he took on a job, he always came back, back to Anakin. Sweet Anakin who was so welcoming and eager, and a touch dramatic, and so fucking beautiful when he was spread out and needy.
Obi-Wan was in love. It had never happened before, but he knew that's what this was.
And Anakin was in love too—Obi-Wan could read the signs, and Anakin was terrible at hiding absolutely any of his thoughts from Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan couldn't help the way he spoilt Anakin and looked after him with the occasional firm hand and showered him with the praise he desperately sought after and deserved. There were a lot of things he couldn't help himself with when it came to Anakin even though it had never felt natural with any others.
"Daddy?" Anakin's voice was soft and sleepy against the blanket they'd thrown out on the long grass. They were taking a long day to be lazy, given Anakin was going away tomorrow, and Obi-Wan could barely take his eyes off Anakin. His lips were stained red from the berries Obi-Wan had been hand-feeding him and Obi-Wan had to take in a deep breath through his nose to stop himself from leaning forward and tasting his mouth.
"Yes, little one?" Obi-Wan responded calmly, his hand running through Anakin's hair, with his eyes out on the lake. Anakin was quiet for a few minutes and Obi-Wan didn't push, giving him the chance to think through what he was saying. Anakin was often impulsive with what he said and did, although nowhere near as much as he used to be. Obi-Wan's fingertips traced over Anakin's forehead as he waited, feeling the warm afternoon breeze on his cheeks.
"When are you going to tell me you love me?" Anakin finally asked and Obi-Wan's touch paused for a moment before he was shifting, gathering Anakin up so he was looking up at him properly.
"When are you going to tell me , hm?" Obi-Wan asked with a teasing raise of his eyebrows. Anakin's eyes widened in surprise and his cheeks flushed pink as he tried to look away, but Obi-Wan had a grip on his chin and wouldn't let him move. "Yes, pretty?" Obi-Wan asked expectantly, meeting Anakin's gaze warmly, his fingers pressing into his jaw.
"I…" Anakin cleared his throat nervously, his thick eyelashes fluttering and endearing to Obi-Wan, who would have leaned in and kissed his eyelids if the conversation wasn't so serious. "I didn't know…" he drifted off again, licking his lips and his eyes darting down to Obi-Wan's mouth. "I didn't know if I was allowed," he finally admitted. Obi-Wan blinked before his face was softening and he leaned forward, bumping his nose against Anakin's.
"Allowed?" Obi-Wan asked with a tinge of a smirk. "Since when did you care about what was allowed ?" He teased and Anakin finally seemed to untense a little, letting out a huff of laughter and dropping his chin, Obi-Wan letting him do that.
"Yeah, well…" Anakin laughed again, although that drifted off as Obi-Wan's hand shifted around to cup the back of his neck, blinking a few times before meeting Obi-Wan's eyes again. "I do try to listen to you, most of the time."
"Sure you do, brat," Obi-Wan responded softly, smiling widely before it was melting away and he was leaning forward again, bringing Anakin in easily, foreheads pressed together. "I love you, little one," Obi-Wan said, the first time he had said those words out loud in so long , and the first time ever romantically.
He was glad Anakin was the first.
Watching Anakin's eyes mist over after saying the words…He was the only person that Obi-Wan ever wanted to say them to for the rest of his life.
That thought took his breath away, and scared him a little, because he never thought that he would feel like devoting his life to something other than the Jedi Order, and yet here he was, giving his heart away.
"I love you too, Daddy," Anakin replied with a wrinkle over his nose and his tongue poking out playfully and Obi-Wan huffed out a laugh before lunging forward and kissing Anakin firmly.
He fucked him there, out in the grass of the meadow where anyone could see them. Animalistic noises were pushed out of Anakin as Obi-Wan pushed his face into the thin picnic blanket and fucked into him, fuelling him faster and harder. He bit at the back of Anakin's neck, sinking his teeth into the skin and sucking hard enough to leave behind a bouquet of flowering bruises that made him feel stupidly proud of himself. His freckled arms were thick and flexing on either side of Anakin's head, the younger man moaning and thrusting himself back onto Obi-Wan's cock, his whines getting so loud that Obi-Wan was surprised no one was investigating the noise.
"You're a whiny little thing, aren't you?" Obi-Wan cooed into his ear, even though he had known that. He'd lost count of how many times he'd fucked Anakin now, although it had definitely been with more frequency in the past few months. "Doesn't matter what Daddy does, huh, you're just always so loud." But that was different, and suddenly Anakin was letting out a strangled scream and his body was tensing underneath Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan had never called himself Daddy before, and clearly, it affected Anakin strongly, given how quickly he'd cum.
" Gods , Anakin, you're perfect, aren't you?" Obi-Wan started moving faster, thrusting harder and panting against the back of Anakin's head, at his slightly sweaty curls. "Is that all it takes? I just call myself Daddy and you lose control of yourself?" Anakin whimpered, and the warm breeze around them whipped a little faster, the long grass swaying and carrying Anakin's pretty sounds. Obi-Wan's orgasm was right there , and the whole galaxy was really fucked up right now, but somehow this afternoon right now was perfect and he was happier than he'd ever been in his life as he leaned forward. "I love you, Anakin," he panted harshly in Anakin's ear before he was emptying himself inside Anakin and collapsing on top of him.
Anakin barely let go of him for the rest of the day, making it incredibly difficult for Obi-Wan to get them hastily cleaned up and then redressed. When they fell asleep that night, Anakin clung to Obi-Wan, and he lingered in the morning, even though they both knew that he was supposed to be on a tight schedule. Anakin had never been particularly good with following the rules, though, and Padmé knew that when she had asked him for his help. She contacted him on the comm link twice with reminders before Anakin pulled himself away from Obi-Wan with a pout.
"Stay safe," Obi-Wan couldn't keep the worry out of his voice even though he tried to keep his smile fixed as he watched Anakin back away, toward his vehicle. There was tension stringing his shoulders tight as he crossed his arms over his chest and tried not to show his anxiety.
"Yes, Daddy," he sung out teasingly, leaning in to press another kiss to his cheek before waving happily and finally turning away.
Obi-Wan watched until he disappeared from view, and even then, it took him a long time to walk back into his home.
Anakin had been gone for eight rotations, which wasn't the longest they had been apart, given Obi-Wan was something gone for nearly a month at a time, but it felt different this time. He told himself it wasn't, literally nothing had changed and he wasn't pouting as he cleaned up after his solo breakfast, he didn't know why he was feeling so on edge this time. It didn't matter that this was the first time they had been apart since they had said 'I love you' to each other, because Obi-Wan had already known that, before they had said the words, and so it really wasn't any different now.
Except it definitely was.
It was very different and Obi-Wan fucking missed Anakin. He always missed him when either of them were away, but it was a different kind of missing.
Especially since Anakin had taken to calling him Daddy almost in place of his name now…
There was this ache in his heart to know that Anakin was okay , that he was eating well and getting sleep, that he wasn't doing anything too dangerous. He really should be used to people he cared about doing dangerous things, given how he had grown up, but it had also been ten years since he had really cared about anyone , except for Anakin. And he didn't just care about Anakin, he loved him.
And what he was doing was dangerous; not just in general, but also because he was going against the Empire. Padmé was always in communication with rebel groups and Anakin helped where he could, so was now helping to smuggle three people the Empire was looking for to a faraway planet. It was more dangerous than what Obi-Wan let himself do, at least in the past year or so, trying to avoid absolutely any interaction with anyone linked to the Empire. Anakin wasn't actively on the run from the Empire, though, so that definitely worked in his favour and made it easier for him to move around. Obi-Wan technically would be safer somewhere even more low-tech than Naboo, but after the monarchy and democracy had been destroyed here, Naboo was pretty much just a farming planet, and Anakin was here. Obi-Wan wasn't leaving.
He'd spoken to Anakin twice since he had been gone, on the encrypted comlinks that Anakin had built for them. Padmé had also come by, letting him know that she had heard from their connection on the other side, that Anakin and the other pilot had reached them safely and dropped off the passengers, and were now coming home. Obi-Wan appreciated her dropping by, even though they weren't close friends, and he wondered if Anakin had told her to check in on him, which was both amusing and endearing to think about.
It was always interesting, seeing Anakin and Padmé interact, and seeing Padmé in general through the lens of someone who had been with Anakin. Obi-Wan had been with countless people of more species that he could remember, but all of them had been beings who leaned heavily toward the masculine, that was who Obi-Wan had always been attracted to. Anakin, though, Anakin was attracted to all kinds of people, and Obi-Wan often wondered what it was that Anakin saw in him .
But…Life had been hard, and lonely. And he wanted to be selfish.
He wanted to be selfish with Anakin .
He'd never felt this way about anyone before, connected to anyone in the way he felt with Anakin. It made him feel reckless in a way he had taught not to be, and dizzy in a way that he'd never experienced.
And it made the distance hard.
And it made him even more confident in his decision, to stay here in Naboo, to stay with Anakin, to be selfish, to take the risk, to love Anakin and let himself be loved.
Padmé was the one who dropped Anakin back off, when he was back, with the co-pilot who had accompanied Anakin in the speeder with them, and Obi-Wan had felt them approach with a presence in the Force that was unique and special. Obi-Wan kept himself at a controlled walk as he left his home and greeted Anakin, but he couldn't help the way he squeezed the younger man tightly, so tightly that he heard the surprised, stuttered exhale from Anakin.
"I missed you," Obi-Wan said through gritted teeth, shutting his eyes briefly before forcing himself to pull away and wave at Padmé. Anakin just let out a tired laugh as he looked over his shoulder toward where his co-pilot had moved, Rose getting into the seat beside Padmé and leaning in for their umpteenth kiss since they'd returned.
"She's distracted, let's just go inside," Anakin said, tugging on Obi-Wan's arm. "Please, Daddy." It was strange, the way he had gone his whole life before Anakin without even thinking about someone addressing him in such a way, and now…He had missed it so much it made him shudder. He felt Anakin's eyes on him but he ignored them as his hand dropped to Anakin's and pulled him into the house, slamming the door firmly behind them and making sure the sensors and locks were in place before he was fully turning to face Anakin. "Daddy… Daddy … Obi-Wan !" Anakin was huffing out his name for attention as Obi-Wan started pulling at his clothes, pulling off his jacket and tunic without saying anything.
" What ?" Obi-Wan snapped gruffly, finally jerking his eyes up to meet Anakin's. Anakin was looking at him in amusement.
"What are you doing ?" Anakin attempted a pout even as his lips were trying to smile in amusement. "I just want a kiss , Daddy." Obi-Wan stared at him for a moment and then processed how fast his heart was beating in his chest, the force thrumming at his fingertips in an almost erratic way, something he hadn't experienced in years , since his last close encounter with the Empire. Anakin faltered as he realized that Obi-Wan was genuinely feeling anxious and he ducked his head, eyebrows pulling together in concern. "Is something wrong? Did something happen?"
"No, no…" Obi-Wan shook his head and exhaled through his nose, reminding himself that everything was okay.
Anakin was okay.
"I was just worried about you, sweetheart," Obi-Wan breathed, shaking his head as he met Anakin's eyes again and saw his shoulders relaxing quickly again. "I was just really worried about you." Anakin's pretty mouth curved into a small, shy smile before shrugging his shoulders and his eyes darted away.
"I'm okay, I promise, everything went totally fine," Anakin told him. "I'm sorry we couldn't contact you more."
"No, no, it's okay," Obi-Wan quickly reassured him, and even though Anakin had said he was okay and Obi-Wan believed him, he just…Wanted to check him over thoroughly. "I didn't realize how much I was going to worry. I'm happy you're home with me now." Anakin's face glowed at the words.
"Yeah," he murmured. "Home with my Daddy," he shrugged a shoulder happily as his hand clenched on Obi-Wan's robe. Obi-Wan swallowed hard, nodding.
"Yeah, home with your Daddy," Obi-Wan agreed and Anakin's smile widened, showing his adorably slightly crooked teeth that made him look so boyishly charming that Obi-Wan's heart rate started picking up again. "Come here, come to bed with me, let me see you," he said bluntly as he grabbed Anakin's hand and began pulling him toward his bedroom, and he heard Anakin laugh under his breath behind him.
It was sweet, all of it felt lovely and light once his anxiety settled and they fell into bed, and Anakin was sweet, and it felt like this was where he was meant to be in a whole other lifetime.
Anakin shuddered underneath him and Obi-Wan's scarred hands brushed up and down his sun kissed back, squeezing at his shoulders and then lower at his hips before pressing his thighs apart. Thirty years ago, he would never have imagined that this is where he would be, it was so far from what he had wanted, as a young padawan, the concept of falling in love with someone and spending his life with them…That just wasn't somewhere he thought his life was going.
And he'd lived that life, he'd seen everything he wanted and lived and fought for burn up in flames, eaten alive and then crumbling apart before something terrifying had been born in its ruins, and then there had been Anakin. There was Anakin, right here, underneath him, his body unharmed, just as he had reassured Obi-Wan earlier.
"I love you," Obi-Wan breathed into Anakin's ear, and Anakin shook underneath him, fingers sinking into the fabrics of the bed, and he could see the goosebumps that were broken out across the skin on the back of his neck. "You're so fucking perfect, I'm so lucky to have you." Anakin mewled out breathlessly as Obi-Wan's hands pressed down over his wrists, keeping him pinned as his hips fucked into him relentlessly. The tears that leaked from the corners of Anakin's eyes and made tracks on his cheeks made Obi-Wan's heart beat faster as he leaned forward to brush a kiss to his sticky-tacky cheek. "You're beautiful, Ani." Things were messy and dangerous and scary and different and nothing like Obi-Wan expected.
"I love you too, Daddy," Anakin groaned out as his back arched against Obi-Wan's body, clenching like a vice around him, body so warm and solid beneath him.
It was everything he never realized he needed.
