The fourteen-year old girl that was Izuku Midoriya sat quietly at her desk, willing herself to focus completely on working on her assignments for school. She couldn't prevent the murmurs of her classmates from reaching her ears, though.

One conversation in particular caught her attention.

"Did you hear? We're getting a new student! One with a crazy powerful Quirk," whispered one of her male classmates to another, their voices filled with excitement.

Izuku's heart skipped a beat. The mention of a powerful Quirk immediately sparked her interest. She had always been fascinated by Quirks and their unique abilities. However, her enthusiasm was quickly replaced with a wave of apprehension.

The thought crossed her mind: Would this new student be any different from the rest of the school? Would they accept her, or would they join in the relentless bullying she had endured for far too long?

She recalled the torment she had faced, the hurtful words and cruel actions directed towards her by other students because of her Quirkless status. It had taken a toll on her self-esteem, leaving her longing for acceptance and friendship.

Izuku took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing thoughts. Despite her fears, she couldn't deny her genuine excitement about the potential of meeting someone with an extraordinary Quirk.

As the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Izuku resolved to approach the situation with an open heart.

Perhaps this new student could be different. Maybe... she could find solace and friendship with new student in their shared love for Quirks.

…. An unlikely scenario, she thought sadly, considering the way the rest of her peers had ostracized her due to her status as a Quirkless individual.

But…

A girl could hope and dream, right?

The new student was extraordinarily handsome, Izuku thought as Katsuki stood in front of the middle-school classroom. His hair was the color of the sun, and his eyes were unlike anything she'd ever seen.

Sadly, it did not seem as though the new student's physical appearance matched his personality.

"Name's Bakugo Katsuki. And you're all trash."

The classroom fell into stunned silence as Katsuki's harsh words hung in the air, stirring a mixture of anger, confusion, and surprise among the students. Izuku included.

The teacher sighed, rubbing her temples.

"Is that really how you're gonna introduce yourself to the rest of the class, Katsuki? Are you begging to get expelled from another school again? Apologize, or I'll—"

Katsuki did nothing of the sort. He walked over to his seat, which coincidentally, happened to be next to Izuku's.

When he sat down, he crossed his arms.

The teacher sighed.

"H—hey…" Izuku tried. "Um…"

Katsuki spared Izuku a glare. "What?"

"What's your deal?" Izuku asked.

Katsuki rolled his eyes.

"Well?" She prompted.

"I'm just not too happy I'll be spending the rest of the school year with a bunch of worthless extras."
