Back in the Kong Kingdom, Cranky Kong led the group to the kart making station. "I see that you want to save your sister, Lincoln.", Cranky said, as he led the Louds to the garage.
"Yeah, but why are we here?", Lincoln said, as he noticed a bunch of spare parts lying around. "To get to Bowser's Castle,", Cranky said, "You need to drive there.". "Drive?!", Lucy said, "We're too young to drive.".
"But...", Cranky said, "What if you made your very own dream kart? Would that intrigue you?". Soon, the lights of the pit stop all light up. and an interface said, "Welcome to the Kart Maker 300.", to which Lana was impressed.
"We get to make our very own go-karts!", Lincoln said with excitement, and the interface said, "Yep, you can. Please select the body, wheels, and glider, then your kart will be assembled.". "Okay.", Lincoln said, going through the various parts.
"I might have to go with something like this.", Lincoln said, revealing that he will have the standard Pipe Frame, standard tires, and standard glider. "The classic.", the interface said, to which the kart was revealed.
"Who's next?", the interface said, to which Lucy said, "Well, I guess I'll give it a go.". Lucy's kart consisted of the Bullet Blaster, with slim tires, and the Vampire Wings glider. "How creative.", the interface said, and her kart was soon revealed as well.
Now it was Lana's turn, as she chose the Tanooki kart, with bulky tires, and the Tropical Glider. When her kart is revealed, she said, "This kart looks awesome!", and Starlow also agreed. Mario and Luigi also appeared in their standard karts and gliders, as they made their customizations.
Penny then did her kart, which was a B Dasher, with slim tires, and the Pink Magnyflying Glass glider, while Ashley chose the Vampire Flyer, metal tires, and the Wicked Topaz glider.
After the Kongs chose their karts too, Lincoln said, "But where are we supposed to drive on?". Mario said that they can ride on the Rainbow Road, to which Lucy said, "Good thing, I chose a dark kart.".
As the Kongs and Lincoln's group are driving on Rainbow Road, Morag was spying on them, before realizing that they are coming towards Bowser's Castle. "You know what to do!", she ordered, "Attack!".
Soon, Koopa Troopas in their own karts we're chasing after the group. "Uh oh.", Lana said with fear, "We've got company!". "Koopa Troopas!", Luigi said, "We better outrun them.".
The Koopas kept throwing their shells at the karts, but they dodged them. As Lincoln turned to the left part of the rainbow, one of the Koopas rammed his vehicle into Lincoln's, causing it to go out of control.
He then bumped into Lucy, then Mario, Luigi, and finally Ashley and Penny. The Kongs soon did their best to defeat every Koopa Troopa in their path, but what they don't know, is that they went off course, and will end up in a Maw Ray's mouth.
Lana, who was actually in the lead, didn't notice the commotion back there, and kept on driving. "Wow, driving is actually fun, right guys?", she said, "Guys?". Lana and Starlow looked back and noticed that all the other karts are eaten up by the Maw Ray.
"No!", Lana said with fear. "There's a stray one!", the Koops General said, who was leading the brigade, "Seize her.". "Never!", Starlow said, as she activated the Bullet Bill power, that turned the kart into a speeding Bullet Bill.
"Phew, that was a close one.", Starlow said, to which Lana didn't say anything. But meanwhile, in the Maw Ray's stomach, the rest if the group were falling to their doom.
"Well this is just great!", Donkey Kong said, "Trapped in the Maw Ray's Stomach. Again.". "This is not how we pictured my death.", Lucy said, hugging Lincoln. "Then how did you imagine it.", Ashley asked.
"That's a topic for later.", Lincoln said, "How do we get out of here?!". "Not only that?", Luigi said, "What's that smell?".
"Those stomach acid levels are too high!", Penny said. "Meaning?", Ashley asked to which Penny said, "We're being digested!". As everyone panicked, Lucy noticed a barrel on the side of Donkey Kong's kart.
"Well, at least not all the karts are broken.", she said, "This barrel thing isn't.". "That is a barrel rocket.", Cranky said, to which Donkey Kong interrupted, "We can use the barrel rocket, to fly out of here!".
"But there's not enough room for all of us!", Lincoln said, before realizing that one of the group members is missing. "Wait?! Where's Lana?!", Lincoln said, to which Lucy predicted, "She must have avoided all the collision back there.".
"Then that means...", Mario said, "She's already at the castle!". "We better get there fast!", Penny said, "And I know exactly how!". She then made the barrel have extension rods with straps that can carry everyone.
"Hop on everyone!", Penny said, "Let's go!". The barrel soon sputtered and shook, but it eventually flew out of the Maw Ray's mouth, but while this was the happiest moment of their lives, Lana's is totally different.
Lana and Starlow had made it to the castle dungeons, but while Starlow was all excited, Lana wasn't. "Lana, what's wrong.", Starlow asked, to which Lana just sniffled tears.
"Lincoln and Lucy were eaten by that fish thing.", Lana said softly, "And it's all my fault.". "Why would you say that?", Starlow asked. "Well, maybe they were right. I should have stayed at the castle.", Lana cried, "Plus, I was afraid the whole trip.".
"But when I said you were brave and courageous,", Starlow said, "I met it. My mind hasn't changed.". "Remember that fight against Sorbetti?", Starlow reminds Lana, "You kept headbutting that snow beast like it's nothing but rubble.".
"Well, that's because I had that power up.", Lana said, "I thought having powers make you feel brave.". "Lana,", Starlow said, "Let me tell you a secret: A hero doesn't put her courage in a power up.". "What?", Lana asked with confusion.
"Power ups might fail them.", Starlow continued, "The real courage comes from the heart.". Soon Starlow decided to sing a song about how courage really DID came from the heart.
Soon, a spotlight shines on Starlow, as she started to sing. "When the plumbers fought that awful, foul beast Fawful. That very scary brute. Do you think they have the guts or the saying of no buts. By a super suit.". Lana replied with, "No, but I use a wrench.".
Starlow continued her song, "But the brothers aren't wary, even though the beast is scary. Because this song I'm going to sing. Is the very same show, that Mario taught his younger bro. Do you know what's that thing?". "Uh... isn't it courage.", Lana asked, and Starlow said, "Bingo.".
"Because the courage comes from the heart. The courage comes from the heart. Even if you are a child, or a hero that's wild. You can do your part.", Starlow sang, and soon Lana joined in, "Because even if you're 3, or 4, or 72. Little guys can do big things too. All because it's the start, of an adventure you'd part. Because the courage is inside of you!".
"Because the courage...", Lana sang in a solo, "Comes from the heart.". "You're right, Starlow!", Lana said, "I DO have the courage, and I WILL save my twin sister!". "Atta-girl!", Starlow said, "Now, I know Bowser's castle more than anyone, I'll take you to the corridor, which is probably where Lola is.".
While Lana and Starlow are busy looking for Lana, Mario and his group have arrived at the castle. "Lana!", Lincoln said, teying to call for her. "She's not here, but her kart is.", Luigi said, and then they heard maniacal laughter.
"I know that laugh.", Lucy said, to which Morag appeared with Lola by her side. "Hey, bro.", Lola said, to which everyone was shocked. "Lola, what are you doing with that evil woman!?", Lucy said. "Oh, she's, my wedding planner.", Lola interrupted, "now if you excuse me, I have to be with my date.".
"You guys, would like to take a front row seat.", Morag said maliciously, as Lincoln and Lucy were protected by Mario and Luigi, but Penny, Ashley, and the Kongs are all captured.
"She's getting away!", Mario said, "Quick, after her!". Soon, the four heroes give chase through the castle.
