American Dynasty
Chapter 3
Authors Note :Thank you for the support and feedback. I'm honestly surprised at how positive and full of ideas it was. Stay tuned. I have a vision in mind for this story. I'm excited to share it.
Brooke glared at him. (You really shouldn't say that about you're sister. I don't like that you view Lucas that way either.) She replied.
Nathan rolled his eyes. (It's a good thing I don't care about what anyone thinks.)
(Are we going to lunch or not?) Nathan asked.
(You can't just leave what about you're mom?) Brooke asked.
(She can handle herself just fine.) Nathan replied.
Brooke sighed deeply. She would make it a point to go talk to Lucas.
He shouldn't have to deal with their mothers alone. But I imagine he wouldn't be surprised by Nathan 's lack of interest.
She had known Nathan all her life and his relationship with his parents was complicated. She knew that all too well.
Brooke walked over to the seating area. Where she found Lucas.
She knew of him seen him around school but the two were strangers.
(Pretty eyes. What can I do for you?) Lucas asked.
Brooke smiled shyly. (I just wanted you know. Nathan and I are leaving.)
(My name is Brooke by the way.) She proclaimed.
(Brooke Penelope Davis. Chocolate hair. Hazel eyes.)
(You get noticed for what you wear and how smart you are.)
(But I've never seen around any guys. Unless you aren't into that.) Lucas questioned.
Brooke stared at him wide eyed. (If I was into girls.)
(I wouldn't hide it. My best friend is out and proud.)
(I like boys. Their fun to look at and spend time with but I have a future I'm working towards.)
(Dating can wait.) (I really need to go.)Brooke explained.
...
(I'll get an at home DNA test from the drug store. You keep an eye on her.) Karen announced.
(Poor blindsided Deborah. You cheated on Dan first. You had to know he wouldn't react well to that.) The woman said.
(You knew he was married and let him into you're clearly pathetic and think very little of yourself.) Deb replied.
...
Lucas scanned the young girl seated beside him.
She had green eyes and her hair was black and straight.
He handed her a snack and drink from a nearby food truck.
(Dan was far from father of the year. I think you're lucky. You didn't know him well.) Lucas said.
The girl gazed up at him. (I saw him 3 times. When I was 4. 5. And 10.)
(They were brief visits but I soaked them up.)
(My mom loved the check he wrote to her to stay away. Me not so much.) The girl revealed.
The expression on Lucas's face softened.
