The next time Nathan and Lucas saw each other. It was at the River court after school.
They didn't plan to meet there they both simply ended up there.
(Are we going to talk about what's going on in our family or just ignore it?) Lucas asked.
Nathan made a few shots with his basketball before gazing over at Lucas.
(Just because we shared a father. Doesn't make us family.) Nathan replied.
(My mom told me they got the DNA test results in. That girl is our sister.) Lucas announced.
(Is that supposed to matter to me? I've known about you since we were kids and that hasn't meant much.) Nathan replied.
(Can you at least try to not be so self involved and focused on how this affects you.) Lucas replied.
(You want to be save orphan Annie you do that. I have Duke. The NBA. And a girlfriend. To focus on.) Nathan replied before leaving the River court.

Lucas went home after that. And was grateful to see his son.

It resulted in him having sex for the first time with an older girl. Who's name he would learn is Taylor James.
He was a freshman. She was a senior. She had the baby but after that her involvement wasn't a priority. So Lucas took full custody and was raising his son with his mom's help. And his best friend Haley James when she had the time to babysit.

Lucas asked his mom where this woman and his sister were.
Karen wasn't exactly sure. She just knew they were staying in town.
Lucas took it upon himself to find out where they were and he located them.
In a nearby hotel. To his surprise the girl was alone and he finally learned her name.
