Rey sat crying in her cell. It had been two weeks since she went out alone on that stupid mission for artifacts, getting captured by pirates on the way back. She knew she should've told someone where she was going, but she was just so tired of all of it. Being the last Jedi. The pressure. She needed and escape.

And look where that got her.

Rey sighed and closed her eyes hoping to get some sleep. She hadn't slept well since Crait, spending much of her free time trying to cope with her new status at the last Jedi that she didn't deserve. All those people wanting to shake hands. She was a scavenger, and she always would be.

As soon as she closed her eyes she felt the bond tingling to life. That last times the bond had activated since Crait they would get into loud screaming matches. She assumed this time would be no different so she kept her eyes close.

What she didn't expect was the flood of emotions that ran through the bond. Panic. Fear. Heartache.

She cracked her eyes open to see a dumbstruck Kylo staring at her tattered form. No doubt her ribs were showing by now, not like her captors cared enough to feed her.

"I'm too tired to argue." Rey said, laying down on the hard concrete floor, "so please don't say anything."

"Re-Rey?" Kylo asked his voice cracking.

"I told you Ben, I'm too tired!" Rey grunted, looking at her tan bony hand.

Before Rey knew what was happening, Kylo had his large hand on the front of her forehead.

"You have a fever." He said emotionlessly.

"Cool." Rey answered sarcastically, closing her eyes once again. Her lashes brushing over her freckles.

"Why hasn't the resistance picked you up?"

"Simple." Rey said casually, " They have no idea where I am."

"Shit Rey," Kylo said, running a hand through his black hair. "Where are you?" He asked in a soft voice.

"I thought you could take anything you wanted?" Rey said, wanting him to find out without anyone being able to say she approved.

Kylo casually shifted through her thoughts on where she was.

And then he was gone.

Eight weeks went by slowly. Rey had a feeling that she was underground somewhere, so it was no wonder it was taking Kylo a while. Or maybe he just gave up. She was always meant to die waiting.

In the meantime she had grown even thinner, her skin becoming a ghastly pale. She rarely moved from the floor anymore, and slept most of the time.

She was woken up from her latest nap by the sound of a lightsaber. She cracked open her eyes slowly, seeing a blinding red light. She grunted at the light, her brain not articulating who it was. All she could think of was Kylo coming and seeing she was gone.

Rey was picked up very cautiously by black leather gloves. One arm under her knees and the other supporting her neck.

She tried to squirm.

"No-no I'm waiting for someone. Need-leave me-"

"Shhh Rey. It's just me." Kylo whispered, tightening his grip slightly.

Rey let herself sink into unconsciousness.

Rey awoke several days later in a comfortable bed in what looked like a white room. She looked down in horror, seeing the iv hooked up into her arm.

She began hyperventilating. Fast. She was trapped.

She didnt realize that she had attracted the attention of a trooper at the door until they started nervously pulling out their gun.

"Miss?" He asked, slowly coming closer.

Rey let out a scream and force push.

Kylo was sitting in a meeting when he got a hail from the medical wing. He had requested to be kept up to date on Rey's progress.

"Uh sir, there seems to have been a problem." The officer on the other end said.

Kylo quickly ran out of the room.

"Supreme Leader?!" Hux screamed after him, not that he cared.

Kylo walked into the room, not knowing what to expect. What he did see was a trooper who seemed to have been knocked into the wall. Blood running down their armor, clearly dead. Medical personnel surrounded the body.

He looked through the room, trying to locate Rey. She was nowhere to be seen.

"You!" Kylo said to the nearest officer.

"Where is the girl?"

"We transported her to your chambers, as you requested once she was recovered. We can have her out in a cell if you like-"

"No." Kylo said, sternly. "That will be all."

Kylo canceled the rest of his meetings for the day, as he walked back to his chambers. He opened the door to see Rey. The one thing in the galaxy he never seemed able to convince or possess. She was lying unconscious on his couch, sleeping. One of the nurses must have given her new clothes, for now she wore a black top and sweatpants.

She looked beautiful as always. Brown hair, freckles, and tan skin. But she was paler than usual, and unnaturally thin.

He went back to his rooms, removing his cloak, left in his black tee shirt and pants. He then made his way back over to Rey, still sleeping soundly. He slowly lowered himself next to her. Knowing that she was safe next to him got him to sleep in seconds.

Kylo awoke to the slight stirring of Rey's foot against his hip. She had started kicking in her sleep it seemed.

So, Kylo decided to do the brave thing and wake her up.

"Rey?" He asked, shaking her shoulder gently.

"Ben." Rey whispered, not opening her eyes.

"Do you want water? Food?" Kylo had never been in the position of caring for another human being before.

She shook her head and fell back asleep.

On the third day, Rey started walking. Slowly, but it was something. She was starting to gain back some weight with the custom high calorie foods Kylo had requested.

Eventually she was her normal self, laughing at talking to Kylo like they were old friends, who mostly worked in his chambers now to keep close to Rey. She never mentioned her friends or going back to the Reisistance.

So she never did.
