Chapter 1: Come Together Pt. 1
Above Earth's atmosphere, a Jump Jet owned by the secret organization called N-Tek was soaring through Outer Space, looking for something. The pilot, Jefferson Smith, was joyriding with the boosters as he and his team were doing the search. "And that's why they call me Captain Kaboom!" He boasted. Just then, the jet received a transmission from N-Tek's commanding officer, Forge Ferrus. "Ferrus to Sky Team 1. Kat, any sign of the Ultralink yet?" Forge asked. "No visual yet, Commander." Katherine Ryan, Kat for short, Jefferson's partner and co-pilot, said. "Ultralink coming up on scopes now." Roberto Martinez, Berto for short, one of N-Tek's scientific geniuses, said as he opened up a screen, pinpointing the object's position. "Time to target: t-minus 30." "Right. Nice and easy, people. Remember, we wanna capture the blasted thing. Not activate it." Forge said. Kat and Jefferson shook their heads in annoyance.
The Jump Jet was approaching its target. It was a dormant alien made of technology called an Ultralink. But suddenly, 3 ships appeared out of nowhere. The ships, piloted by some kind of robots, started heading for the Ultralink. "We got 3 unidentified spacecrafts." Jefferson informed when his controller detected them. Just then, the ships started firing lasers on the Jump Jet. "Unidentified hostile spacecrafts!" Berto corrected. One of the lasers hit the Jump Jet's engine. "These guys are packing some serious fire power!" Jefferson exclaimed as he flew the Jump Jet under the Ultralink while trying to avoid the incoming lasers. "Do not loose the target Jeffer-" Forge tried to say, but Jefferson ended the transmission. "A little busy right now, old man."
Just then, one of the ships blasted another of the Jump Jet's engines. "Engines 2 and 4 are gone!" Jefferson exclaimed. As the ships continued firing, the Jump Jet's tractor beam activated, snatched the Ultralink and secured it inside the hatch. "The cake is in the oven." Jefferson said. "And our friends here still want a slice." Berto said as the ships flew in front of the Jump Jet. 2 of the ships ensnared the Jump Jet's wings with grappling cables while the 3rd one prepared to cut through the hatch. Jefferson managed to thrust the Jump Jet forward, causing the 2 ships to swing on their cables and crash into each other, destroying them. The last ship kept following as the Jump Jet's damaged engines caught fire. Jefferson managed to circle the Jump Jet over the ship and come up behind it. Then he fired a missile at the ship, destroying it. But then the Jump Jet's engines gave out and the jet started to fall towards Earth. "Sky Team 1 to base! We're coming in hot!" Jefferson exclaimed through the com-link.
As the Jump Jet re-entered Earth's atmosphere, Kat put out the engine fires with the jet's extinguisher. Jefferson then carefully steered the Jump Jet into a canyon. Once the jet reached a canyon hill, a hologram deactivated and allowed the jet entry into a secret N-Tek base. Once the jet landed in the landing bay, a group of agents gathered around it. "Ultralink's ready for unload. It's in the airlock, guys." Jefferson said over the coms. The airlock opened and the jet placed the Ultralink on a gravity stretcher and the agents took it away. The Ultralink was placed inside a holding vault along with 60 other Ultralinks N-Tek collected. The 2 agents exited the vault as it locked itself up. "I wonder why this one's not locked up." One of them said, gesturing to a stray Ultralink in a containment case. "Well, that one hasn't been functional for years. A relic of the past." The other one said. But as they walked away, the Ultralink started to re-activate.
(Intro)
'I'm Max McGrath. Here's my buddy, Steel. Yeah, he's an alien. I generate the power, Steel has the alien tech to control it. Together, we combine into awesome Turbo Modes. With help from my friends and family, we take on the bad guys and save the world. You know, hero stuff. We are…Max Steel!'
Maxwell McGrath, or Max for short, was moving today. He came out of his old house carrying a large heavy box. One of his quintuplet cousins, Zad, was helping him carry it. But suddenly, after they carried it down the steps, the bottom opened as a weight set fell through. One of them landed on Zad's foot. "OUCH!" He shouted in pain, grabbing his sore foot. As Max helped him sit down, Zad's 4 older siblings, Vandana, Wandella, Xena and Yeager ran up to them. "What happened?" Yeager asked when he saw his little brother holding his sore foot. "My weights fell through and landed on his foot." Max said. "Really, Max? You're bringing your weights? You never use them anyway." Vandana said. "No wonder they're so hard to lift." Max said. Then 2 women came up to the 6. Max's mom, Molly, and the quintuplets' mom, Amelia. "Alright, we only have a few minutes before we leave town and move to the city." Molly informed. "She's right. So, make sure you 6 get all the stuffs you need." Amelia said as she and Molly walked back into the house to get more boxes.
Just then, 3 little kids came running up to the house. "We're gonna miss you." They said. "Yeah, we're gonna miss you weirdos too. Say, any of you interested in a slightly used weight set?" Max asked. "The kids aren't interested about the weights, Max." Wandella said. "Hey, is this you?" One of the kids asked, pulling out a picture frame from the moving trailer. "No. That's my dad. He's not around anymore." Max said sadly as he took the frame. It had a picture of Molly when she was pregnant with Max. She was with her late husband and Max's father, James McGrath, but he was called Jim by most of his friends and family. "Then is this you?" The kid asked, pulling out another picture frame. "Yeah. That was taken when I was your age." Max said. "Who are those with you and your cousins, Max?" The little girl asked. "Those are our childhood friends. Eli and Harley Shane, and Vert and Olivia Wheeler." Max said.
Suddenly, the kid caught a glimpse of some small shadowy figures hiding amongst the other boxes. "What was that?" He asked. "It was nothing. Besides, you kids should head on home since we're leaving." Yeager said. "Hey, before you go, why don't you guys help yourselves to whatever's in this box of goodies, huh?" Max asked as he directed the kids to a box filled with his old toys. "We got stuffed animals, action figures, video games." "Thanks, Max." The kids said as Max handed them some of the toys as goodbye gifts. But as Max picked up one of his old gaming controls, it shorted out in his hand, shocking him. "I guess they don't make them like they used to." He said. "Now go on. Get out of here. And keep in touch you crazy cooks." As the kids left, Molly and Amelia came back out with more boxes Max looked back at the picture of his parents. Molly looked at the picture and sighed sadly before taking it from Max. "Okay, new town, new job. What do you say, kiddos? Ready for a new adventure?" Amelia asked as they finished loading up the boxes. "Are we ever gonna stay in one place?" Max asked.
They got into the car and drove off with the moving trailer trailing behind. Forge appeared as he watched them leave. "They're on the move." He said into his com. "Copy that, Commander." Kat said.
Just then, a commercial was being played from Trans Human Industries, spoken by CEO Jason Naught. "Technology. It's our heart. It's our soul. Here at Trans Human Industries, we are creating the future today. From the food you eat, to the air you breathe, THI is transforming the human experience. THI. Let us become part of you."
As the commercial ended, Naught looked to his employees. "Brilliant!" "That was groundbreaking." "And your hair is impeccable!" "Yes, it is." The employees said. "Order a blanket media buy, and-" Naught said when he received a call from someone. "Alright, get lost. I've got business to attend to." He said. As the employees left. He sat down on his chair, pressed a button under his desk and was brought down to make contact with his boss, Miles Dread. "You have news, Mr. Naught?" Dread asked. "Good news, sir. The sales are up. 78%-" Naught started to explain. "What of the Ultralink?!" Dread demanded. "Well, I'm afraid the news on that front isn't quite as…rosy? Our forces were driven off by…N-Tek." Naught explained. "N-TEK?!" Dread exclaimed, coughing and pounding on the screen, making Naught gulp in fear. "If we do not find a suitable energy source to keep me alive, all that I've done, all that I've planned, schemed, stolen, will be for nothing! I must have Turbo Energy!" Dread exclaimed. "We'll re-double our efforts, sir." Naught said in fear. "Do not fail me! If this clock reaches 0, it won't just signal my end, Mr. Naught." Dread said, showing a countdown clock before ending the call. Naught gulped in fear.
Meanwhile, Max, Molly, Amelia and the quintuplets had just settled into their new apartment and were having breakfast. There were 30 slugs on the counter with them, eating slug chow with eggs and bacon. "Now let's get a move on. We all have big first days. Me and Amelia at work and you 6 at school." Molly said. Max groaned, not actually liking going to school. "Come on, it'll be great. New friends. Cafeteria food. Tons of homework." Molly said. "Yeah, Max. You were top of your class, got really high grades and your science projects were very excellent too, I might add." Yeager said. "Yeah, you guys are right. Guess school can be a regular paradise on Earth." Max said. "And you little ones better behave yourselves while we're gone." Molly said, scratching one of the slugs on the head. The slugs chittered in agreement.
Later, Max and the quintuplets rode their bikes to their new school, Copper Canyon High. Once they got to the entrance, they looked around at the students in the hallway. 3 guys looked right at them. Max sighed as they walked in. The guy in the middle, tripped Max, making him bump into a girl. "Have a nice trip. See you next fall." The guy said. But before he and his buddies could walk away, Wandella walked up to him and punched him hard in the face, giving him a black eye. "You listen to me. If you even dare to bully my cousin or any of my siblings, I will hunt you down and I will not stop until I find you and give you pain and agony." She threatened. The bullies got scared by this and ran off like cowards.
Afterwards, the quintuplets helped Max gather his stuffs that fell out of his backpack. "See you next fall? Really? People still say that?" Max asked. "Nah. It's pretty much just him." The girl said, that Max bumped into. "Don't tell us. School bully? What's his name? Moose? Biff? Flash?" Max asked. "Bartholomew. But they call him Butch." The girl said, handing Max a book. "The stereotype lives." Max said, taking the book. But the 2 stared at each other for a second before getting back up. Just then, a skinny guy with a beanie hat walked up and picked up Max's helmet. "Welcome to Copper Canyon High, new guys. The wretched hive of scum and villainy. I'm Kirby." The skinny guy, Kirby, introduced as he handed Max back his helmet. "And I'm Sydney." The girl, Sydney, introduced. "Hey. I'm Max. And these are my quintuplet cousins, Vandana, Wandella, Xena, Yeager and Zad." Max introduced. Sydney and Kirby were surprised to hear that the quintuplets were Max's cousins. "You guys are really quintuplets?" Sydney asked. "Yes, we are." Wandella said. "And we're proud of it." Zad said. "Well, this is the first time we've actually met quintuplets like you." Kirby said. "It is?" Xena asked. "Yeah. Quintuplets are very popular this year." Sydney said. "You're quite lucky to have quintuplets for cousins, new guy." Kirby said. That made Max smile. He was lucky to have them as cousins. Just then, the bell rang, signaling the students that class was about to start. "Well, see you around, Max." Sydney said as she walked off. Max stared dreamingly after her. The quintuplets saw this and knew what it meant. Their dear cousin had fallen in love.
A few hours later, school had ended. Max and the quintuplets were getting ready to ride their bikes back home. But suddenly, they saw Butch and his pals running out of the school, picking on Kirby. They were tossing Kirby's backpack around to each other and pushing him back. Just then, Yeager ran up and snatched the backpack before Butch could catch it. "Come on, guys. This is the 21st century. Don't you guys bully online these days?" Yeager asked as he tossed Kirby back his backpack. Butch was not happy. He shoved past Kirby and marched up to Yeager. "Oh, so, I help the kid getting picked on and now I get picked on? That's very unoriginal…Bartholomew." Yeager teased, making Max and his siblings laugh. Now Butch was really mad. He prepared to pick a fight. But then Wandella stepped in between them, glaring at Butch with her arms crossed. "Now I did tell you that I would give you pain and agony if you dared to pick on my cousin or my siblings. And I mean to do it. Really, really hard." She said. Butch and his cronies were scared by this. "And to do that, I challenge you 3 to a fight." Wandella said out of the blue. "We…We accept!" Butch accepted hesitantly.
Students gathered around to watch the fight while Max and the other 4 quintuplets watched in concern. Butch and his buddies made the first move, throwing punches and kicks. But Wandella was fast. She dodged each punch and kick. She then delivered a big punch to Butch's nose, breaking it and giving him a nosebleed. Then she tackled the first bully down, grabbed his legs and twisted his ankles really hard, breaking them and making the bully scream in pain. Then after she got up, the last bully came up behind her and grabbed her. But she managed to break loose and throw him down. Then she grabbed his arm, holding him down with her knee against his neck. "Picking on my brother and my friends? You guys are an eyesore!" She exclaimed, breaking the bully's arm and making him scream in pain. "Now get out of here!" She exclaimed. Butch helped his buddies up and they ran away like cowards. The students cheered on Wandella's victory. "Congrats, Wandella." Max said as he and the other 4 quintuplets walked up to her. "Way to show them who's tough, big sis." Zad said.
Then Sydney and Kirby came up to them. "That was the most amazing thing I've ever seen." Kirby said. "Yeah. I'm amazed that you were strong and brave enough to face those bullies without hesitation or showing fear." Sydney said. "Yeah, I've been through a lot since childhood." Wandella said with a shrug. "Say, how about we treat you new guys to dinner. My treat as a thanks for getting my backpack back." Kirby offered. "That sounds great." Zad said. "Yeah." Vandana agreed. "Sure, why not? Our moms are working late anyway." Max said.
Kirby and Sydney brought Max and the quintuplets to a ramen noodle restaurant where they were eating. "So, where have you guys lived before you came here?" Sydney asked. "Oh, we've lived in many different places." Wandella said. "Yeah. We've been hopping from new house to new house every time our mothers got new jobs." Zad said. "And with every new place we go to, we always end up leaving good friends behind." Xena said with a sad tone. "Wow. That's rough." Kirby said. "But it's all good. We still keep in touch. Mostly." Max said. "What do you mean, Max?" Sydney asked. "Well, it's just that…we have these best friends we knew from our childhood." Max said, bringing out the picture of him, his cousins, Eli, Harley, Vert and Olivia. "Those 4 were the best of friends we ever had. But we haven't seen them in 10 years." He explained as Sydney and Kirby looked at the picture. "Maybe you will see them again one day." Kirby said. "Kirby's right. Fate has a way of bringing the most important people in your life back into it." Sydney said as she handed the picture back. "You know, she might have a point, Max. Maybe we will see Eli and the others again someday." Yeager said. "I sure hope so." Max said.
Little did they know, while they were eating, a man with a crystal eye was watching them from the window. The man brought out a radio. "Gather the boys." He said into the radio with a Korean accent. "Yes sir." Someone said on the other end.
Later, after Kirby and Sydney left, Max and the quintuplets prepared to leave on their bikes. "It was rather nice of those 2 to treat us to dinner." Yeager said. "Yeah. And it was really nice for Kirby to buy it for us." Xena said, showing a light blush. "Come on. Let's head back home." Max said. Suddenly, a smoke bomb went off behind them. As they turned to see, the man and a group of gangsters appeared out of the smoke on motorcycles. "Hello there." The man said. "Ride!" Max exclaimed as he and the quintuplets rode off on their bikes. "Get them." The man said as he and the gangsters rode off after them on their motorcycles.
As Max and the quintuplets rode into the city, the gangsters began to catch up to them. Suddenly, Max's eyes started glowing blue and a weird energy surged from his feet, speeding up his peddling. The quintuplets were shocked from seeing this. "What?!" Max exclaimed as he looked back to see the quintuplets and the gangsters falling behind. The quintuplets turned a corner as the gangsters nearly caught up to them. Max smiled to see that his cousins got away. But he turned back to see that he was about to hit a truck. But the weird thing was when he crashed, he burst right through the truck. As the driver got out to investigate, Max kicked open the door. "There he is! You lot, peel off and go after those 5! We'll keep on after him!" The leader ordered. Several gangsters peeled off and drove after the quintuplets. Max leapt out of the truck and continued to run with the leader and his 2 best men on his tail. Just then, his eyes glowed again. And this time, he started to run faster than a speeding bullet as he turned down an alley. "What's happening to me?" He asked himself. Just then, his phone rang. "Hey, Mom! I can't really talk right now!" He exclaimed as he answered, seeing that the gangsters were still chasing him. "Max? It's me, Sydney." Sydney answered. "Sydney? Hey. How'd you get my number?" Max asked. "I didn't. I got your phone. And you got mine. Must've gotten mixed up this morning." Sydney said. Max looked at the phone, seeing that it was pink. "How'd I miss that?" He asked. "Let's meet up tomorrow and swap." Sydney said. "Yeah. Yeah, sure." Max said. But before he could say anything more, his hand glowed and shorted out the phone. And it just got worse. The 2 gangsters came up behind him and grabbed his arms. But Max managed to pull free and the gangsters crashed down some steps, with one of them landing in a dumpster. Max then saw that the leader was still chasing him. He turned down another alley while the leader still chased him. But before the leader could grab him, Max's eyes glowed again and then he leapt up over a fence, which the leader crashed into it. But then Max crashed through a window into an abandoned building. "What's…happening…to me?" He asked before he fell unconscious.
Meanwhile, the quintuplets peddled as fast as they could with the other gangsters still chasing them. "It's no good! We can't shake them!" Zad exclaimed. "We gotta try, little brother! Let's try to lose them down that alley!" Vandana called. The quintuplets turned down an alley. But then Vandana gasped at what she saw up ahead. The quintuplets skidded to a stop as they reached a dead end. The gangsters stopped their motorcycles when they finally caught up to them. They dismounted their motorcycles and pulled out a series of weapons. "What do we do now?" Yeager asked in worry. "You keep your traps shut while we make sure you never talk again, whelp!" One gangster said, pointing a dagger in Yeager's face. Just then, Vandana's eyes glowed amaranth pink. "Leave…my siblings…ALONE!" She shouted, blasting the gangsters with an amaranth pink soundwave. The quintuplets were surprised at what happened. "What was that?" Zad asked. "I…I don't know. Something must be wrong with me." Vandana said. But the gangsters had already recovered and prepared to attack again. Just then, the rest of the quintuplets' eyes started to glow too. Wandella's glowed blue-violet. Xena's glowed cerise. Yeager's glowed yellow. And Zad's glowed yellow-green. Together with Vandana, they held out their hands and fired a multicolored blast, blasting the gangsters and their motorcycles out of the alley. The quintuplets were now very surprised that they had the exact same powers as they stared at their hands. "What was that?" Zad asked. "Where did these powers come from?" Xena asked. "And how did we get them?" Wandella asked. But before anyone could answer, Zad saw Max flying in the air. "Look! It's Max!" He called. The quintuplets turned to see as Max crashed into the abandoned building nearby. "MAX!" Vandana cried as they rushed inside to help.
They ran up to the floor where Max crashed and found his unconscious body. "Max! Max!" Wandella cried as they ran over to Max as he woke up with a groan. "You okay?" Zad asked. "Ugh. I think so." Max groaned as he started to recover. "What happened?" Xena asked. "I don't know, but something's been happening to me. First, I was speeding up on my bike while ending up crashing into a truck. Then I end up running like I had superspeed. And finally, while the gang leader was chasing me, I hopped over a high fence and crashed in here." Max explained. "Wow. Something weird happened to us too." Xena said. "Yeah, one minute, I blasted an army of gangsters with some kind of sonic shout, and then the next, we all blasted them away." Vandana explained.
But before anymore could be said, the gangsters walked right up to the floor and found Max and the quintuplets. "Uh-oh." Zad said. "Now you kids are all gonna die for trespassing on the turf of the Dark Black." The leader said. "Turf? We were just eating at a ramen noodle restaurant." Yeager said. "You had no right! We're the law in the city. Not those filthy police." The leader said. "You think so, do you?" Wandella asked daringly, pounding her fist in her hand. "Yes. And you have just sealed your sentence." The leader said. As the gangsters moved in to grab Max and the quintuplets, Max's eyes glowed and shoved the gangsters back.
The leader tried to punch Max, but he managed to dodge each blow and evade one of the gangsters trying to leap at him. The leader came back around to grab Max, but he managed to throw him into some oil barrels. Another gangster ran up to Yeager and tried to stab him with a knife, but Yeager held up his hands and conjured a yellow shield, blocking the knife. The gangster was shocked by this. And then Yeager pushed him into the wall with the shield. Wandella balled up her fists as 2 more gangster prepared to fight her. Just then, her fists glowed violet-blue and delivered powerful punches, sending the gangsters flying through the ceiling. "Whoa!" She exclaimed in shock. A group of the gangsters surrounded Xena and Zad. Standing back-to-back, both siblings ensnared 2 of them with energy whips and spun them around, smacking the others and knocking them down. Vandana let out a sonic shriek at a group of gangsters charging towards her, sending them flying through the wall. Max found himself surrounded by the 2 tough gangsters. But before they could grab him, he gave a big leap, causing them to crash into each other.
"Let's get out of here!" The leader shouted as he recovered. And the entire gang retreated and ran out of the building. "That was awesome!" Max exclaimed. The quintuplets however looked at him in shock. His eyes and arms were glowing. "Uh, Max? You're glowing!" Vandana exclaimed. "Huh?" Max asked as he looked at his arms. Just then, energy started building up inside him and started shorting out the lights inside. "What is…happening…to ME?!" Max cried as the energy burst out of his body, destroying most of the building.
Unfortunately, the explosion didn't go unnoticed. At THI, one of the employees picked up the explosion's energy on a scanner. "Sir! We just recorded a massive source of Turbo Energy!" The employee called. "There is no Turbo Energy on this planet. Except for the boss and he's almost toast." Naught said. "Largest Turbo source ever recorded…in this city!" The employee said. Naught shoved him aside and took a look. "Well, don't just stand there jabbering! Sound the alarm! Release the hounds! Do whatever it is you do, but bring me that source of Turbo Energy!" He ordered.
Later, Max and the quintuplets started waking up, slightly glimpsing at Berto, Jefferson and Kat watching over them. "They're waking up. Call Forge." Kat said. Jefferson walked out as Kat and Berto watched over the 6 with smiles. Though Berto was blushing a bit as he looked at Vandana. "Give us a minute." Forge said as he walked in. Kat and Berto left as Max and the quintuplets turned to see him. "Uncle Ferrus?" Max asked. "Dad?" The quintuplets asked simultaneously. "What're you doing here?" Max asked as he and the quintuplets sat up from the beds they were laying on. "Where are we?" Xena asked. "And what the heck are you wearing?" Zad asked. "Welcome to N-Tek." Forge said. "Uncle Ferrus, what's happening to us?" Max asked. "Yeah, some strange stuffs have been happening ever since we met and fought those gangsters." Wandella said. "Come with me, kids. I'll explain." Forge said.
Meanwhile, back at THI, Naught contacted Dread. "Sir, I have incredible news." Naught said. "Tell me you found an Ultralink." Dread said. "Even better. We've detected a massive surge of Turbo Energy. Point of origin, Copper Canyon." Naught explained. "Mr. Naught, suspend all Ultralink capture operations immediately. We're going to hunt down this new Turbo source. And I know just the hunter for the job." Dread said, ending the call.
Dread walked towards a machine and contacted a monster coated in fire. It was called an Elementor. "YOU?! I told you if you were to contact us again, I would-" The Elementor started to say. "Yes, yes. Hurting, breaking, maiming. I remember. But I have an assignment mutually beneficial to both of us, Elementor." Dread said. "I'm…listening." The Elementor said as he got up close to Dread's face.
Meanwhile, Molly and Amelia, who had gotten jobs at THI, were looking through one of the documents from a tablet in Naught's office. But then Naught reappeared at his desk. "Something I can help you 2 with?" He asked, surprising them. "Oh! Mr. Naught. We thought you were gone for the night." Molly said. "We were told to place these reports on your desk." Amelia said, putting the tablet on Naught's desk. "This is my private office." Naught said with a slightly angry tone as he took it. "We're very sorry, sir. It's our first day on the job." Molly said. "Yes. It won't happen again." Amelia said. As they left, they both sighed in relief. "Let's hope your husband appreciates this." Molly said. "I hope so too." Amelia said.
Meanwhile, Forge showed Max and the quintuplets around N-Tek. "Your father, Max. He started all this." He said. "You worked with my dad?" Max asked. "We founded N-Tek. Well, us and Miles. Miles Dread. He also passed." Forge said. "Wow. This is crazy. We had no idea." Max said as he and the quintuplets looked around the hanger. "Yeah. Pretty big secret to keep from your own children, Dad." Xena said. "N-Tek is a secret organization. We work towards solving the big problems. Global warming, alternate fuel sources." Forge explained. "So, what's the awesome tank for?" Max asked, gesturing to a big tank. "Come on. This way. There's something I think you'll want to see." Forge said. He brought them to a hologram of James McGrath. "Dad? Whoa." Max said. "Uncle Jim." Zad said. "Your father was an amazing man, Max. He had discovered one of the rarest, most powerful types of energy in the universe. Tachyon Unlimited Radiant Bio Optimized Energy. Turbo Energy for short. But there was an accident. All your father's work was destroyed. Along with your father and Miles Dread. This was the last thing your father was working on before the end." Forge explained, showing the 6 the dormant Ultralink. "What is it?" Max asked. "Nothing. Not anymore." Forge said sadly. As they walked away, the Ultralink began powering back up again.
"So, this Turbo Energy my dad was working on, that's why I'm fritzing things out and blowing myself up? I was exposed to the stuff?" Max asked. "Now it seems you're generating the stuff. We've been watching you for a long time, wondering what would happen." Forge said. "And you can help me?" Max asked. "We can definitely help." Forge said as Max walked into a chamber. "Does that mean we were exposed to Turbo Energy too, Dad?" Wandella asked. "No, Wandella. Your powers are of a different energy called mana, passed on to you when your mother gave birth to all 5 of you." Forge said as he walked away. The quintuplets were confused as they followed their father.
"What is this place?" Max asked, stepping onto a platform as the chamber door sealed itself. "This is the Turbo Chamber, Max. It'll keep your power levels under control." Forge explained. Max saw him standing in a control room with Berto and the quintuplets. Berto deactivated the bridges connecting to the platform, trapping Max. Then 3 siphoning machines opened up from the walls. "Wait. So, I'm your prisoner?" Max asked. "What?!" Yeager asked angrily. "Prisoner?!" Vandana exclaimed. "Right now, this is the only way to keep you and anyone who comes near you safe." Forge said as Berto activated the machines. The machines then started siphoning the Turbo Energy from Max. Meanwhile, outside, the Ultralink was becoming active. As the machines continued siphoning the Turbo Energy, Berto scanned Max's body, whistling at the amount of Turbo Energy he was generating. Suddenly, Max's entire body became fused with a whole build-up of Turbo Energy and the Ultralink started spinning. The siphoning machines started shorting out, and an energy wave blew Forge, Berto and the quintuplets against the wall. Max's Turbo Energy then pulled off one of the machines and flew towards Max which he ducked down to avoid it. "Uh, the chamber's great and all, Uncle Ferrus, but I think it's time to go!" Max called. He leapt off the platform and started punching the door. The scan suddenly went red. "What's happening to him?!" Vandana exclaimed. "He's going critical!" Berto exclaimed. "Critical?! That means he could explode just like last time!" Zad exclaimed. "Route all auxiliary power to the containment field." Forge said. "No good! He's too powerful!" Berto exclaimed.
Just then, the Ultralink broke out of its glass case and sped over to the chamber. As Max finally broke down the door, the Ultralink zipped right towards him, making him leap back onto the platform with a surprised yelp. "Human, you are about to overload." The Ultralink said. "Steel?! That's not possible!" Forge exclaimed. "Isn't that thing from Uncle Jim's hologram?" Zad asked. "I thought you said it was nothing!" Wandella exclaimed. "What's happening to me?!" Max asked as his Turbo Energy surged inside the Ultralink and caused it to shed its outer shell. "Human, if you are agreeable, my matrix can halt your Turbo detonation and together we can flee with your cousins." The Ultralink said. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. You can stop me from blowing up and get me and my cousins out of here?" Max asked. "That's what I said." The Ultralink said. "What do I have to do?" Max asked. "Just sit back and leave the driving to N'Baro Aksteel X377." The Ultralink said. "N'Begga Lekka…who?" Max asked. "Call me Steel for short." Steel said. "I…This is crazy." Max said. "Crazy? You ain't seen nothing yet." Steel said. He linked on to Max's chest and outfitted his whole body in an entire suit of armor. "I…I feel…amazing." Max said, looking over his new suit. "Whoa, Max." Vandana said with impression. "Killer suit." Xena said. "Really." Zad said.
But Forge wasn't about to let his nephew walk free as a squadron of N-Tek agents, along with Jefferson and Kat, rushed in. "Stop them! But don't hurt them!" He ordered as he leapt down to join them. "Dad, no!" Vandana cried as she and her siblings leapt down. "You can't keep Max prisoner here!" Xena exclaimed. "His Turbo Energy is too much! He's too dangerous! We need to get him under control!" Forge exclaimed as he ran into the chamber. The quintuplets were now really worried about Max. Kat walked right up to them. "Listen, I think I can help you and your cousin escape." She said. That made the quintuplets shocked and confused.
Max turned to see the agents charging right for him. "Initiating counter measures in 3." Steel said from Max's head. "Whoa, whoa! Are you inside my head?" Max asked in surprise. "2." "Steel?" Max asked in worry. "1." Then Max felt his body leap towards the agents and knocked each of them, including Jefferson, down. "I'm sorry!" He exclaimed. Forge ran towards Max, but he was knocked down too. "Sorry, Uncle Ferrus!" Max called as he ran for the door. But then Kat and the quintuplets stood in his way. That made Max stop in his tracks. "It's okay, Max. She's with us." Yeager said. "Listen, take the bikes at the end of the hall. You guys can use them to escape." Kat explained. "Thank you, ma'am." Max said before his suit pulled him again as the quintuplets followed.
Once they reached the motorcycles, they each mounted one as Forge and the agents started catching up to them. A helmet merged onto Max's head. "Hey, the helmet's a nice touch." Max said as he revved the engine. "Wait. I can't drive this thing." He realized. "You are not driving it." Steel said. Then they sped off with the quintuplets following. "Deactivate holo-bridge Alpha Bravo 9!" Forge ordered. The bridge in the hanger deactivated as Max, Steel and the quintuplets reached it. Seeing that the bridge was deactivating, Max's Turbo Energy boosted the bike to jump from the Jump Jet's wing and land on the other side. The quintuplets, however, were in trouble. "How are we gonna get across?" Yeager asked. "Let's try making our own bridge!" Xena called. She held out her hand as it glowed and created a cerise energy bridge, allowing her and her siblings to cross. But as they rejoined their cousin, 2 more agents blocked their way. "I'm really sorry about this." Max said as he hit the bike's brakes and skidded into the agents, knocking them down.
And finally, Max and the quintuplets exited the base. Unfortunately, Max's Turbo Energy is shorting out the bike. "Max, what's wrong?!" Wandella asked. "My Turbo power's affecting the bike! It's out of control!" Max exclaimed. "No matter. It's not much use to us now anyway." Steel said. Max unveiled his helmet and saw that he was driving up to a cliff. "MAX!" The quintuplets cried as Max went over the cliff.
Fortunately, a cyber parachute popped out on instinct. "Really? You couldn't mention this thing comes with a parachute?" Max asked in annoyance. The quintuplets saw this with relief and joined them. "We're glad to see that you're okay, cousin." Xena said. "What are your designations, humans?" Steel asked. "Oh, our names. I'm Maxwell. Maxwell McGrath. And these are my quintuplet cousins, Vandana, Wandella, Xena, Yeager and Zad Ferrus." Max introduced. "So, what exactly are you?" Yeager asked. "I am a techno-organic X377 Omega-class embio-parasitic Ultralink warrior. My matrix is powered by Turbo Energy. You have reactivated me." Steel explained. "Well, glad to help. Now, uh, can you get this suit off me?" Max asked as Steel de-morphed from Max's suit. "I'm afraid not. You see, were Ultralinked. I was designed to absorb and control my host's energy. Once an Ultralink has bonded with its host, the connection is unbreakable." Steel explained. "So, you're saying I'm stuck with you for the rest of my life?" Max asked. "Well, that and I'm stuck with you for the rest of my life." Steel said. "Okay. This is gonna take some getting used to." Max said as the bikes landed.
"Okay. I'm gonna run a complete diagnostic for core matrix functionality." Steel said, looking through a series of notes and diagnostics. "Okay. Now try not to take this offensively." Steel then started controlling Max's body through the suit, making him do ridiculous poses. The quintuplets snickered at that. "Well, everything seems to check out. Except I've damaged my memory core. And I can't remember how." Steel said. "Well, maybe we can still help each other. If you stop using me like a puppet." Max said, inspecting Steel from top to bottom. But suddenly, Max's Turbo Energy started building up in Steel. "Hey, what're you doing?" Max asked. "I'm not doing anything! Your energy output is overriding my Turbo dampeners!" Steel exclaimed. "That means Steel's gonna blow!" Wandella exclaimed. "Well, how do we stop it?" Max asked in worry. "Detonation in 3." Steel counted down. "No! Don't start counting down again!" Max exclaimed. "2." "What do we do?!" Max asked in panic. "1! Throw me!" Steel exclaimed. "What?!" Max exclaimed in shock when he said that. "Throw me now!" Steel exclaimed. Max grabbed Steel and threw him at a mount, destroying it with the detonation. Steel crashed back down and a rock fell on top of him. "Steel!" Max and the quintuplets cried. They ran up to the rock and Max pulled it off, finding Steel shorting out. "You okay there, buddy?" Max asked as he threw the rock away. "Apparently, Maxwell, we make a painfully explosive combination." Steel said as he slowly recovered. "You gotta admit, Max, that was pretty cool." Zad said. "Yeah. Wicked awesome." Wandella said. Vandana, Xena and Yeager nodded in agreement. "It kinda was. I wonder what else we can do." Max said. "My technological acumen combined with your Turbo powers? Probably a great deal." Steel said. "Then let's find out what we can do. Go…Turbo?" Max called, morphing Steel into the suit and surging with Turbo Energy. But nothing happened. "Huh? I don't feel any different." Max said. "Yeah, you look the same to us." Yeager said. "Go Turbo?" Steel asked. "I thought it'd be cool. Like a catchphrase? Like a superhero? Up, up and away? That kind of thing?" Max asked. "Oh, I see. I like it." Steel said. "And if you're gonna be a superhero, you're gonna need us as a team." Vandana said. "Yeah. No way we're leaving our dear cousin to have all the fun." Xena said. "And we're actually wanting to see what our powers can do too." Zad said. "Well, if Maxwell trusts you, then so do I. Let's try it again." Steel said.
"Go Turbo!" Max called again, surging with Turbo Energy just as something appeared on a mount. This time, Max's feet were on fire! "Argh! We're on fire! What'd you do this time?!" Max asked as he put out the fire. "Wasn't me!" Steel exclaimed. "Well, it wasn't me either." Max said. "But if it wasn't us, who was it?" Xena asked. "It…was…ME!" The Elementor shouted from the mount, getting their attention. "I never thought I'd hear myself ask this question, but is that a fire monster coming at us?" Max asked. "Affirmative." Steel said. "Okay, this totally beats having to live in our last neighborhood." Zad said. "You said it, little bro." Wandella said. The Elementor leapt down towards them. "I don't suppose you could whip up a fire extinguisher, Steel?" Max asked. "Negative. LOOK OUT!" Steel exclaimed. The Elementor tossed a fireball. Max and the quintuplets dodged it. "Come with me or meet your end!" The Elementor demanded. "You know, we weren't having such a good day today. So, no thank you." Max said. "Yeah, like we'd ever take orders from a monster." Wandella said, holding up her glowing fists. "So be it." The Elementor said, creating a ring of fire around them.
"Whoa! Can we take him?" Max asked. "Probably. But the data is insufficient." Steel said. "We could take him. If only we knew how to." Wandella said. The Elementor charged for them, but Max and the quintuplets flipped over him and out of the ring of fire. "Uh, Maxwell? Your hands!" Steel exclaimed. Max saw that his hands were on fire and shook them out. "I see that's why you should never touch fire." Yeager said. The Elementor charged them and punched them, nearly sending them into a gorge. "Okay. This isn't working." Max said. "Clearly." Steel said. "And it's obvious this thing doesn't tire out so easily." Wandella said. "We gotta think of something to take this thing down." Zad said. "But what?" Xena asked as they dodged another fireball. "How about if I throw Steel again?" Max asked. "Let's not and say we did." Steel said as they dodged another fireball. "But what we need is more power." "Does this suit come with any different modes of some kind?" Max asked. "Let's see. Scanning for modes. Ah! Try this on for size." Steel said, showing a hologram of a hulking armor. "Go Turbo! Strength!" Max called. And then the suit infused with Turbo Energy and transformed into a bigger form. "Look at me!" Max exclaimed. "Wow, Max! You look like a Hulkbuster in that suit!" Zad exclaimed. "What do you call that mode, Steel?" Xena asked. "It's called Defense Protocol X795." Steel said. "Okay. We'll call it Strength Mode for short." Max said. "Catchy." Steel said.
As the Elementor tossed another fireball, he saw Steel on the suit's chest plate. "You are Ultralink?! No matter!" He exclaimed as he charged in to throw a punch. But then Max caught his arm and tossed him. Then he leapt up to deliver a ground smashing punch. But the Elementor disappeared into the ground and reappeared behind Max. He tried to deliver a hammer drop, but Max caught it and the 2 began to struggle. "Come on, Max!" Vandana called. "You got this, buddy!" Yeager exclaimed. "Make him feel the hurt, Max!" Wandella exclaimed. "Yes. Make this interesting for me." The Elementor said. "Surface temperature rising rapidly! We need more power!" Steel exclaimed. "Shall I turn up the heat?!" The Elementor asked, coating the entire suit in fire. Then he tossed another fireball, knocking Max down. "MAX!" The quintuplets cried. But Max and Steel were far from out. "You can blast me all you want, you pyromaniac. The suit's fireproof." Max said. "And air conditioned." Steel added. "Then I'll simply rip you from your shell!" The Elementor exclaimed. Max charged in to deliver a punch. But the Elementor caught it, punched him in the gut and tossed him into a canyon wall.
"Core system offline." Steel said as the Strength Mode deactivated and returned to Base Mode. "Oh no! Max!" Vandana cried. "We've got to help him!" Wandella exclaimed. The quintuplets nodded to each other and charged in to help Max. By then, the Elementor grabbed Max and started tossing him around. "I will crack you open!" He exclaimed as he tossed up Max and slammed him down to the ground. "Leave him alone!" Zad shouted, firing a yellow-green mana beam at the Elementor's back. Then the quintuplets ensnared his arms with their mana whips and tried to pull him down. "You mess with our cousin, you mess with us!" Wandella exclaimed as she struggled. But the Elementor reached out, grabbed Max and the quintuplets, and tossed them away. "Oops." He said, realizing he made a mistake.
"Don't suppose this suit has a built-in parachute like the bikes did?!" Max asked panicking. "I'm afraid that's a negative!" Steel exclaimed panicking as well. "Well then, it's been nice knowing you!" Max exclaimed. "You too!" Steel exclaimed. Everyone screamed as they fell into the gorge.
Wow! How was that for the start of my new Max Steel story, huh?! Max and his quintuplet cousins move to Copper Caynon and have just discovered their long-hidden powers after dealing with a group of gangsters. Then after meeting an Ultralink named Steel and escaping the government of N-Tek, Max and the quintuplets go up against a fire monster called an Elementor sent by a man called Miles Dread. How will Max and his cousins get out of this mess? What other dangers await our heroes? Leave a review if you want.
