For a few days now since I first enrolled to Hope's Peak Academy as a new student here, to enhance my skillsets and to learn in my professions as a mercenary, I never thought the day has come, that I am to reunite two lost souls who once gazed into the jaws of despair in their own way. As I arrive to Hope's Peak Academy, along with someone at the side entrance, as I bent down to speak to that someone, "Don't worry, she is here, all she needs is for you to give her a chance."

As I finished conveyed these words, I have that person stay near the gardens, as I entered in to head for my class. As I made my way to the classroom, I found that the class is mostly girls in it, as they seem to be going about their morning talk, I took my seat as I skim through some of my notes for today's lesson as I wonder how will she react to this. "It has been a long time since we last met back then, she disappeared one day after asking me a favor." Many more students enter the classroom, as I greet the present students and they just give me a side glance, well, in this school, there are many students here aiming to be the top Ultimates, I am just a freshman, wanting to learn more. Then, I could see a student, running hastiliy to class and fell front to which everyone laughs at the student. I instead approach the student and offer a hand to help get up, "Are you okay, you had a nasty fall." The student looks up at me and replies, "I-I am okay, just clumsy at times." My eyebrows raise as I identify the student as a girl who has long purple hair, dressed in a white apron with a skirt and her hands wrapped in bandages. (There is no mistaking it, it's her.)

I help her up and escort her away from the classroom as she nervously thanks me for helping a clumsy klutz like her, "Why wouldn't I? It is normal to help a fellow classmate." She then dismisses it as she doesn't have many friends as they find her weird and too clumsy to be around. I smile and said that, "Really, I think you look pretty, and kind." as I say that, she blushingly looks at you up and down and turns away nervously. She seems very shy. "You seem to be quite nervous is something the matter?", I asked her. She then explains that she gets all red and embarrassed, "N-No i'm fine. T-Thank you for h-helping me." I ask her what is her name and she answers, ""I-Im Mikan, Mikan Tsumiki."

Upon hearing her name, there is no doubt she is the one I am looking for, "Wait, Mikan, is that really you from Shotsetsu elementary school back then?", I ask her and she too wonders how I recall her old school, "Y-Yes, but how do you know me?" I said that we were in the same class before. "O-Oh...i'm sorry i didn't remember you... what was your name again?", as Mikan tries to recall. "My name is Abraham Nitta. It has been years since we last met since you moved away." Mikan nods as I could see that she shed a tear, "I-It has, I didn't have many f-friends back then either, and I really missed the ones I had befriended... especially you, Gray-san." She looks down in shame as tears run down her face. I knew back then Mikan wasn't having it easy when everyone picks on her especially the older bullies and even from her father, as I consoled her to no need to remember those past bullying and scolding. Mikan pulls me into a hug, "Thank you... I wish i didn't have those bullies' and the scolding from my parents... I hate that part of my life..." I assured her that things are alright, "I promise that you can count on me back then, and you will not need to relive those awful memories again."

"R-Really?", She hugs you even harder. "Thank you... that I had a friend like you." There was something important that I needed to bring up, she really needs to know this; a fragment of her past. "Yes, Mikan. By the way do you remember anything else back then?" She thinks for a bit, then seems to remember something. "Yeah... i do remember some more things, but i don't know if i have the courage to talk about it to you."

"Well, it is actually something very important, since the last time we parted ways. I need to tell you something too.", as I hear what Mikan wants me to know about. "O-Ok, so i... actually kinda like you back in Shosetsu Elementary." She seems to be quite embarrassed. "R-Really, you like me?", I ask her and Mikan nods saying that, "Y-You are the closest friend I had, you stood up for me many times, w-where many others were scared to be part of the b-bullying." I can recall it clearly, that back then no one wanted to risk themselves for involving themselves of reporting the bullies, unless they too plan to be a victim too. I watch as my close friend would be tormented and picked on like she had a target on her back, I despise how would one be so cruel to a person who has done nothing wrong so I acted. There was never a time I would let someone just do as they please, especially causing pain to others, so I am willing to beat them and take a beating if it could resolve some burden on Mikan.

"Yeah, those bullies leave a nasty taste in my mouth, and besides I have a knack for dealing with troublemakers like this with my hunting skills.", I said. Mikan thinks for a bit and recalls, "Y-you told me before, you were some sort of... mercenary when younger, r-right?" I nod and I am glad that I have become better since then, "Yes, I have been assigned to many investigations, battle missions and bounty hunting when I was young."

Mikan wasn't sure back then but now she asks on whether, "Bounty hunting? Isn't that immoral or something?" I answered her with no need for worries, "No, I am actually hired by our government, and they usually give me the clean slate whenever I am going for such missions." She wants to clear some doubts so she continues asking, "Isn't the government supposed to arrest the people? Why would they want you to kill them?" "They see that some of these convicts are no longer able to be reasoned or rehabilitated, they even committed mass genocide and murders for over the years.", as I sigh to the thoughts of it, "Yes but even so, they abandoned even their own families just to save their skin, I didn't really quite like some parts of my job."

She looks teary hearing that, ""W-why do you still do it then? Money?" "No, I do it for the sake of peace and I want to protect the innocents from such acts because I lost my single parent; my mother to a convict which I could never forgive.", I replied with a frown. She looks shocked to hear about that. She hugs you tightly. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that... I-it must have been hard for you as a boy to witness all that..."

I held her hand and comfort her, and the reason why I support her, "We both had tough times in the past, but during my job, I could also think of you as a nurse to help people even when others mistreat you, we helped others though others may not have been kind to us." Mikan looks happy as she hugs you tightly and starts crying. "Y-You care so much for me... Thank you... thank you so much..."

"I admire your preserverence to continue helping people even when the people close to you hurt you like your father and old schoolmates.", I sincerely praise her for what kindness she has offered to others.

She held her hands to her chest and expresses that, "I love helping people... it's all I have now..." She hugs you tightly again and starts crying as I could sense her loneliness. "There is no need to be sad, I am happy to have a good friend like you". "M-Me too... I missed you a lot." She kisses your cheek as I smile with a hint of red. "Mikan, remember when I asked you whether u remembered something important from back then?" She tries to understand what I was asking about, but she cannot seem to remember, much like some of her memories have been dormant. "It is okay, there is no need to force yourself, besides I think you couldn't remember about it back then, or rather you didn't want to. But I must tell you but after when class ends, I think it should be only you who must know this.", as I hold her hand, asking her to follow me to what I have to tell her about this.

Mikan nods, "If it is important, then I will prefer like this, Gray-san."
