A/N: Set between S3 and S4.
While accidentally sending a dick pic to his father during a business meeting probably ranks in at least the top ten most embarrassing moments in Roman's life, after a couple of months he's beginning to see the funny side. He ends up laughing about it with Kendall one night while they're smoking weed in Roman's apartment. Roman knows he probably shouldn't be encouraging his brother to take drugs after recent events, but weed has always had a positive effect on Ken, unlike coke or alcohol. Shiv isn't there, she's been strangely recalcitrant about drinking or smoking since Italy.
"So I captioned the picture, 'Hungry Gerri? Eat this'," Roman recounts, making Kendall double over in hysterics. "It couldn't have been worse. You should have seen Dad's face."
"Oh man, I wish I had been there." Kendall wipes tears of mirth from his eyes. "What did he say?"
"First he asked me if I was a sicko, which is fair. Then he said that Gerri would have to go. That was less funny." Roman's laughter fades.
"What was actually going on with you two?" Kendall asks.
Roman shrugs. "I liked her." He tries to make it sound ironic.
"Well, I like Frank, but I'm not sending Dad pictures of my dick to prove it."
"Hahaha. You're hilarious. The point is, it was reciprocal. I wasn't being some creepy sexual harasser."
"There's a first time for everything, huh?" Kendall chuckles.
Roman throws a shoe at him. "Anyway, it's over," he continues, his heart heavy. "When it came to it, she sided with Dad."
"With herself, you mean. She once told me that she worked for Waystar Royco, not Logan Roy."
"Yeah." Roman stretches out his limbs as far as they can go. "I always said she was a stone cold killer bitch. That's what I liked about her. I just didn't think she would kill me."
"Have you ever heard of the Leopards Face Eating Party?"
"No, but they sound cool."
Later when Kendall has fallen asleep, Roman covers his brother with a blanket. Tonight was the happiest he's seen Ken for a long time. Roman can't say that he feels happy overall though. Losing his dad, his mom and Gerri in one long night of betrayal still stings.
He unlocks his phone and looks at his last message to Gerri. He's kept every exchange they've ever had, including the thumbs up she sent in reply to him saying I'm going to kill myself during management training.
I'm sorry, he types. I fucked up, I know.
He sends it before he can change his mind. It appears as read almost instantly but she doesn't reply. He looks at his messages with his father next. His dad's birthday is coming up. He should probably send him some kind of acknowledgment, even if he's agreed with Shiv and Kendall to boycott his party.
Finally he sends a message to his mother, saying Hey Mom. He's not sure what time it is in the Caribbean, but he feels like reaching out to one of his parents.
He's about to fall asleep on the couch opposite Kendall when his phone buzzes and he grabs for it, thinking Gerri might have replied. His heart sinks with disappointment when he sees it's his mother. She's sent him a gushing essay asking for a Caribbean catch-up, but no word of an apology. She's always been good at burying her head in the sand. He remembers the time he tried to tell her about Uncle Mo and she just wrinkled her nose saying Don't make jokes like that, darling.
He doesn't bother to reply straight away. He'll deal with her in the morning.
