I was feeling bad I missed Bella's birthday, since I was traveling, and decided to write something to make up for it. Keep an eye on the updates, because I'm posting the next chapter some time this week. See you then!
"Would you allow me to throw you a little party? I still feel bad about forgetting, you know?" Paul said and Bella had to smile at him.
Paul had forgotten her birthday, but it wasn't his fault: Maya had been sick for a week and he was with her at the hospital, and Bella didn't even think about her own birthday, being there with him.
Charlie and Giovanna were the ones who remembered, and she had a quiet and small celebration with them over dinner, missing Paul and Maya.
"You don't need to throw me a party, especially when Maya still is a little under the weather." Bella pecked his lips, smiling when he tried to follow her lips. "Besides, it's fine. I'm not big on celebrating my birthday."
Paul frowned at her, but didn't push on the subject. Bella knew he was going to talk about it some more, but right now, she just wanted to enjoy the alone time the two of them were having.
Charlie was taking the girls shopping—something that Bella still was trying to wrap her mind around, but he was just being a good grandfather, she supposed—and Paul was visiting her, and she had missed him these days.
"Instead of talking about things that we missed, why don't we enjoy the quiet?" Bella asked, coming near Paul and biting his earlobe. "What do you say?"
Growling, Paul kissed her, before starting pushing her towards her bedroom."Your wish is my command."
Bella giggled and just let herself be pushed around.
One week has passed and Bella was laying in her bed, hoping for a lazy Saturday, but her peace was shattered by the doorbell.
Groaning, Bella threw her blankets away and walked towards the door, not bothering with throwing a robe over her pajamas. She was still half-asleep and was surprised to find Paul and Maya on the other side of the door, wearing pajamas.
"What are you two doing here, dressed like that?" Bella asked, still feeling like she was still sleeping.
"I know you said you didn't want a party, but it didn't feel right not to celebrate you, so that's what we're going to be doing today." Paul was grinning and Bella felt her tights clench with desire. "What do you say?"
"Huh?" Bella was trying to wrap her mind around what Paul was saying.
"We want to celebrate you, mummy, with a sleepover!" Maya said, before walking towards Giovanna's room. "I'm going to wake Gio!"
Before either of them could say anything, Maya was skipping into the house, leaving the parents in the doorway.
"I'm going to make breakfast, and we can cuddle in your bed after," Paul said, entering the house and closing the door behind him. "Maybe we can convince the girls to have their sleepover in Gio's room?"
Bella looked it up into Paul's eyes, who were smiling at her. This man who was so perfect in every aspect that mattered and who was here, to celebrate her, just because he couldn't during her actual birthday.
It was clear to Bella what she wanted to do now.
"I love you," Bella whispered, before kissing Paul. She didn't kiss him long, before starting talking again. "I'm in love with you, Paul Lahote."
"It's a good thing I'm in love with you too, huh?" Paul said, before kissing her more intently.
"Ugh!" Two voices broke down the lust fog they were in, and Bella turned to see Giovanna and Maya looking at them with disgust written all over their little faces.
"Who's ready for breakfast?" Paul asked, sneaking an arm around Bella's waist.
"Me!" the girls yelled, before running towards the kitchen.
"Today, is all about you, baby," Paul whispered in Bella's ear, making her shiver. "And tonight…is going to be all about you too."
Giving her backside a little slap, Paul walked towards the kitchen, letting a bemused Bella in the living room.
She didn't know what she did to deserve someone as good as Paul in her life, but she was glad for him. It was time to celebrate her birthday and she couldn't wait for tonight.
