On a rainy night in Atlas…

James Ironwood was watching the status reports about the military and at the same time at the Academy in his airship, in times like this he wished that he could work only one of it.

The sudden news breaks about a rogue Paladin being chased by a Manta on the cliffside of Atlas, the news detail of who the person was piloting the rogue Paladin.

The view splits into two; one was the chase and the other was the detailed info of the rogue, showing a picture of a man in his early thirties, who worked at the SDC Operations as a supervisor for seven years, and other related achievements of the man was now on the run.

Ironwood rose from his seat and ordered his ship to go to the rogue Paladin's location.

Elsewhere, Adam in his early twenties, was piloting the Manta with an angry dark expression.

The rogue Paladin releases a cluster of missiles from its shoulders as it runs, homing at Adam.

Adam skillfully piloted the ship away from the homing missiles and used it as he crash landed the Manta at the rogue Paladin with full speed, jumping out in the process.

A huge explosion erupted knocking the News Ship away and the rogue Paladin off the cliff road as it tumbled down the cliff's slope.

Adam continues to give chase at the rogue Paladin, sliding down with his yellow blade chokutō, Alpha plunged in the earth as he descends from the cliff slope.

His Aura flickered as he arrived at a natural stone cliff, where the rogue Paladin lays broken facing in front of him.

Adam with electrocuting Alpha on his right hand approaches the Paladin, only for him to see a vision of the broken Paladin firing its gun aimed at him.

Seeing this for a matter of a second as he took one step forward, he swiftly sidestepped the surprise attack and threw Alpha at the Paladin, disabling its electricity upon impact of the blade.

The rogue escapes from the hatch of the Paladin and runs away from Adam's wrath, only for the rogue to stop at the edge of the cliff.

Looking down was sure high from the ground, the rogue turned around and saw Adam slowly approach him with a dark expression.

The man tried to jump off the cliff only to fail as Adam in an instance grabs him, throwing him at a nearby tree of the cliff.

"Remember me." Adam said as he ripped his left eye-patch off, revealing the SDC brand letters on his black cybernetic eye with white pupil, making the rogue terrified for who he sees in front of him.

"Of course you do. Who could forget a person you hurt, haunts you back." adding a creepy smile at the last sentence, as he proceeds to beat the rogue at the tree with his hands like a boxing match in the corner.

The rogue manages to land a hit on Adam only to be beaten up some more, Adam steps one backwards as he unclips his scabbard rifle, Omega with his left hand and reloads it.

The rogue struggled to sits up but still managed to lay his back at the tree trunk.

"Heh. Freak." the rogue laughed.

Adam raised his armed left hand at the rogue's head with an angry glare and put his finger in the trigger.

"ADAM!" Ironwood called.

Adam stood frozen as he was listening to his adopted Father.

Ironwood arrived at the scene with a Dropship, boarded by a team of young fellow huntsmen like Adam inside watching him.

"Don't throw everything that you built this far just for revenge."

"HE KILLED MY FRIEND." Adam boomed with rage, but didn't pull the trigger.

One of the boarded huntsmen cried at the loss of their friend as the rest looked down.

"I feel your anger, Adam. But killing him here now, will prove them right." Ironwood stated with concern.

"Hahahaha, yeah right. Humans and Faunus can't coexist, you monster." The rogue said with an evil grin on his face.

"Son, please." Ironwood pleaded.

For a moment none of them moved, as the rain started to grow heavy.

End of Flashback

...

Back in the present, Adam was watching from the sideline of a street, a hologram presentation by Ironwood, who is seen unveiling the new Atlesian Knight-200 combat androids to replace the older Atlesian Knight-130, as well as the Atlesian Paladin-290, which was made in cooperation with the Schnee Dust Company.

Ironwood spotted him and gave him a slight nod, as the crowd applauded at the presentation.

Adam rolled his good eye with a smirk on his face, as he continued his search, he stumbled upon an industrial district of Vale.

Junior's Club was an old brick building with arched windows, its entrance was via a pair of large sliding doors that opened automatically.

Adam entered the club and sat on a stool of the bar, the bartender named Hei Xiong with his back facing him.

"What do you want to ord-" Junior turned around making him drop his glass he's cleaning.

The nearby henchmen of his stood up and began to corner Adam.

"I'm looking for a man named Roman Torchwick."
