Part 4: What's More Chaotic than a Sleepover? A Group Chat Mishap!
And we're back with another chapter of 'The Road Trip'. Get ready for some second-hand embarrassment and laughter.

Day 1, Night
They've all settled the sleeping arrangements. Each tent has one chaperone to handle crowd control.
Tent 1 - Doris (chaperone), Regina, Reese, Tracy, Rainey, Jamie and Jenny
Tent 2 - Rodissius (chaperone), Ranger, AJ and Ricky
Tent 3 - Roman (chaperone), Remus and Romulus
Tent 4 - Riker (chaperone), Rover, Roger and Rory
Tent 5 - Frank (chaperone), Jones, Spin and Bob
Tent 6 - Bernice and The Great Defender (as friends, totally platonic, no romantic attraction whatsoever)
This left Bernice and the Great Defender on their own, but Jamie was insistent on sleeping over with her best friend.
"Are you sure you don't want to sleep with me tonight, Jae-Jae?" Bernice asked her daughter.
"Nah, I wanna hang out with Jenny tonight, please?" Jamie shook her head.
"Guess that leaves you and me then," Bernice plastered a smile at her tallest friend.
"Yup," The Great Defender responded with a thin smile. This is gonna be an awkward night…
"You can have your daughter back tomorrow." Doris offered a reassuring smile to the younger mom.
"Night everyone." Rodissius called out.
"See you in the morning." Jones waved from his tent.
"Can't I join in on the girls' sleepover?" Bob whined, attempting to sneak into the girls' tent.
"Nope. You're staying put here." Frank shook his head.
After taking turns showering and changing into their nightwear, Reese and Regina can't help but notice something unusual about their friend's pjs.
"Wait, is that Roman's shirt? The one he couldn't find?" Reese smirked. Roman claimed he lost his favorite shirt a few months ago and bemoaned why he could never find it. And now she knows where it has been all along.
"Hey, if he didn't want to lose his favorite shirt, he shouldn't have left it at my house in the first place." Tracy retorted defensively, picking on the sleeve of her (Roman's) nightshirt. It fits her like a glove. Maybe a tad bit baggy, but it's comfy to wear.
Not in the way you think, Roman and Riker sometimes come by her house to crash for the night if they had a mission away from home. Roman just happened to have left his favorite shirt, and Tracy took the liberty to claim it as her own instead of returning it to him. Finders Keepers!
"You already stole his old textbooks, what's a few more shirts gonna do?" Regina teased.
"Oh I'm sure Ro would have a much different reaction to seeing you keep his shirt like a trophy." Reese grinned.
At times like these, Tracy notes Reese looks an awful lot like Roman. And she's already panicking enough now that she's realized she was (is?) attracted to Reese.
Luckily for Tracy, her mom and Rainey came into the tent. Doris kept silent when she noticed her daughter's pjs, but occupied herself by reading one of her Brenda Jackson romance novels.
"Girls' night, you know the rules. We paint each other's nails!" Rainey squealed, barging into the tent with her makeup bag.
"Dibs on the black nail polish!" Reese claimed, raising her hand.
"You sneak!" Regina hissed.
"Eldest daughter, I called the shots." Reese seemed incredibly smug…until she noticed something, "HEY WHERE'S THE NAIL POLISH?!"
Reese opened her tent zip and charged out to interrogate her brothers, "WHO TOOK THE BLACK NAIL POLISH?! ROMULUS, I KNOW IT'S YOU!"
Cues screaming from Roman's tent, as a few heads peeked out of the tent to see Reese chasing after her younger brother.
Romulus must have shifted into a crow. Because it's humoring to see Reese charging after a bird holding a bottle of nail polish in its beak.
"I'm recording the whole thing." Rory mouthed from the other tent, holding up a video camera.
"I wanna see how it goes down." Jones grinned as well, getting popcorn ready to watch Reese tackle her brother.
Back inside the tent, Jenny and Rainey were gossiping.
"This is all so exciting!" Jenny squealed. "And talk about dating…Like how we saw Jamie and Spin looking at each other-"
"I may have regrets now." Jamie raised her hand. Is it too late to go back to her mom?
"Now you get me!" Rainey winked at the young Bionic. "I have a feeling you and I are gonna get along swimmingly!"
"Hey, don't steal my best friend from me." Jamie protested.
Reese eventually caught Romulus flying as a bird by the throat, it was hilarious for many. Romulus has learned a valuable lesson to not mess with his sisters.
A while later…
Tracy was bored (so was Jones in the other tent who was watching Spin and Bob playing games on his old PSP) when her phone started buzzing with notifications.

Tracy groaned at his remark, but at least he's not outright telling their mom about her and Chase's book nights.
Seriously, there is NOTHING romantic about scented candles, or a bunch of novels. Or just spending time alone with your good friend.
I mean, it's all platonic. There's nothing romantic about these hangouts! The scented candles could be cheaper in mass bulk and in corny shapes, right?

Jones may not be the most academically gifted person or the strongest, but he certainly was NOT dumb. It's pretty clear that this summer road trip was a silly way for Uncle Rodi to set up his older son with Jones' sister.
But why does it have to all happen a week after he not-so-subtly outed his sister's 3 year long crush in front of Chase Davenport (and their friends)?
What is up with his sister and crushing on the weirdest buzzkills? I mean Chase, Roman, Milton from Seaford (yes even Jones is puzzled how his sister had a crush on that nerd. Chase, he somewhat gets; but Milton? Not so much...)
There was also that annoyingly strict hall monitor named Wai Chong who was Sakura and the Hamzah siblings' old schoolmate.
Yeah, Jones is convinced his sister has a type, and that's 'No Taste One'.
Jones knows that his sister likes Chase, but he spent 3 long years watching her swoon over some dork and their 'flirting' is just PAINFUL. Case point, THAT texting mishap.
Jones KNOWS that Roman and Tracy made some kind of marriage pact after her Sophomore year Homecoming. And it's clear that he seems to like her to some extent.
Aiyah, this is shifting into an annoying love drama. More gossip to share with Leo, Kaz and Oliver the next time they meet up in person!
…Time for him to get the popcorn (and pillows) for when his sister needs his guidance the most.
I can't believe Jones himself is getting emotionally invested in seeing which unfortunate person is gonna be stuck dating his sister.
Whatever happens, Jones knows that he'll always have his sister's (and his two new baby brothers') back no matter what life throws at them.
If Chase or Roman ever breaks her heart, Jones can make their deaths look like 'an accident'.
Mess with his sister, mess with him!
We are 2/5 in the story, the next chapter marks the first half! Did you guys like the group chat scene? I sure did. The group chat alone is already as chaotic as it is, add in the texting mishap just ten-folds the embarrassment.
Chapter Talk: -
((1.) The camping tent arrangements were necessary to keep track of who's at which tent, each tent with an adult chaperone. Doris takes on the most kids under her ward (makes sense because she's looking after her daughter, the Andrews sisters, and 2 little girls), she used to babysit for her younger brothers and a couple of younger kids. This leaves Grenice (Greg/Bernice) on their own to push them to get together.
(2.) Andrews siblings' sleepovers are VERY dramatic, considering the number of siblings plus superpowers. The siblings are mostly gender non-conforming, they like having Spa Days together and share fashion tips. Romulus constantly steals Reese's nail polish and earrings, and Reese can be incredibly aggressive when you mess with her.
(3.) Tracy likes stealing/wearing Roman's old clothes. Totally platonic here. Yes, that old shirt is kinda like Rocy's equivalent of the Duke Sweatshirt for Portwell from HSMTMTS (yes, I will forever be a Portwell shipper)
(4.) Tracy canonically had a crush on Chase at some point of time but has moved on by the time she meets Roman. So in my version of the "Lab Rats vs Mighty Med" crossover special, it's bad timing for Jones to out his sister's crush right before Chase and Mr Davenport's big presentation. Chase is realizing/processing his feelings at the moment, but Unmasked S3-4 is full of blatant/subtle flirting and extreme denial between the two friends.
(5.) And now Jones knows about Operation Rocy! Jones and Tracy have a sibling telepathic connection, meaning they can usually read the other's mind. Jones has totally read her mind a few times and gags whenever he finds out his sister has a crush. It truly doesn't help that Tracy has had a lot of crushes. On one hand, he thinks the idea of his sister with a love life is gross. On the other hand, he thinks she can do way better than the options available.
Jones: Chase, I get why because he's at least better looking. SYS (See Yew Soon from Oh My English) I also get why, because he's at least charismatic. Johan, I can see the somewhat appeal. But seriously sis, what were you thinking? Crushing on weirdos like Milton or Wai Chong?
