Chapter 8: The Darkness Inside

Back at the tower, Enchantress was listening to Black knight as he was talking about the loss.
She sighed and replied, "We should of known that fool would fail us. Tell the troops if those monks are seen outside of the village, leave them be or face punishment."
"Yes, Enchantress. They were lucky that Riley was a amazing duelist. They may be trouble for us if we have to face them again, madam."
"I know, I know. Just let Specter Knight and his servants know they're coming for them soon."
"As you wish, my mistress.", The knight said as he walked out of the chamber and she turned to the outside that had a great view of the island and she sighed and replied, "I'll destroy you and your troops, you old timer monarch. Those kids will be destroyed by me and my powerful knights and spirits. You'll never win."

Back at the bunker, the gang was talking to Lord Pridmoor about the duel that happened. I was more then awake and chatting as well.
Pridmoor looked at Riley and he replied, "I'm so proud of you right now, son. You are a really brave guard and you did that to save someone that we needed in the group right now. I'm so proud of your hard work and thank you for doing so."
"It was the thing to right now, father. I had to do it to save her.", Riley said with a smile.
I looked at him and replied, "Thank you so, so much for freeing me from that group, Riley. I'm so glad everything went well and I'm safe again."
"Anytime, my friend. Anytime."
The king nodded and replied, "After what had happened today, let's head to the Lich Yard tomorrow after you're all rested up."
We all nodded and then Rowan looked at Jordan and replied, "Come with me after the evening meal and we'll do some trading, Jordan."
"Sounds like a grea tplan to me, my friend."

Lich Yard main meeting hall / 10:30pm
Inside of a dark building in the Lich Yard, a armored knight wielding a sharp scythe was chatting with two people. One was a arrmored warrior and the other was a young man wearing a green-hooded robe and holding onto a book.
The Knight then replied, "Black Knight just informed that King Knight was defeated and they're coming for us right now. Dark Acolyte and Reize, I need you both to be ready for those kids when they come for us. We can't afford to fail the Enchantress or we'll regret it."
Reize sighed and replied, "My deck isn't ready to go yet, sir."
Dark Acolyte then replied, "I'll duel, sir. My deck is ready to go and a very powerful one at that as well."
The knight nodded and replied, "I honestly believe in your dueling skills, my young friend. I wish you the best and if you need any cards, go to our card safe and get anything you need for it, but only get cards that works with your deck."
"I will do anything and what you say to help out, sir."
Dark Acolyte nodded as he walked out and Reize then replied, "You think he'll do good in his duels, Specter Knight?"
"I think he will, son. If his deck is as good as he say it is, he'll have no trouble at all."

Early that next morning, Me and Jordan were watching the sunrise together from the same hill she was watching from before.
Jordan then replied, "You come here almost every morning to watch the sun rise, babe?"
I nodded and "I really do, Jordan. It's one of those things I used to do all the time on mornings that slept like a rock. This is our first time, we get a chance to do this as a couple. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time now."
Jordan looked at her and replied, "I'm glad i'm here with you, hon. You've made my life so much better since we both began to date and I've loved every minute of it as well. I love you more then anything right now."
"I love you, boo. Never forget that."
They smiled as they held hands and watched as the sun began to rise up in the distance.

About a hour after breakfast, Manda was going over her deck once more before we had to head to the Lich Yard while Riley was going over his deck as well and there was a small red box near him as well.
She looked back at him and resumed, "Your Rock deck was really made, Riley. One of the coolest decks I've ever seen myself."
He nodded and resumed, "Thank you for saying so, Manda. I saw your Fiend deck being used that day and it was well made as well."
She smiled and he grabbed the small box and resumed, "Try these cards for a chance. They are all Fiend monsters as well."
He handed it to her and he slowly opened the top of the box and inside they were a Normal monster, 7 Fiend effect monsters and a Fiend Xyz monster as well and she saw them and she smiled and resumed, "I've heard of these cards and they all based on the bad guys from that classic cartoon from the golden era for cartoons like this!"
Riley smiled and resumed, "My dad wanted you to have these of our way of saying thanks for getting our village home back on out side, Manda."
"It was a honor to do so and you can tell your father that as well."
"I will do so right away, Manda. You can spend time to redo your deck a bit before we head to the Lich Yard. Take your time."
She nodded as he got up and left as well and Manda saw her newest cards and he nodded and resumed, "Time for some more work on my deck."

After about a half hour walk, we all arrived outside of a large dark graveyard-like field and the main entrance was locked up.
Jordan then replied, "What was this place before the Quarter of New Order reappeared, Riley?"
He sighed and replied, "This is our graveyard for the deceased of Pridmoor Island. It was a beautiful garden called the Pridmoor Memorial Garden and Cemetery. After they took it over, they changed it and now it's a dark area known as the Lich Yard, a very spooky area of the island."
I sighed and then replied, "That's horrible. A beautiful place of remembering a lost one turned into a dark evil battleground for the Quarter of New Order. That is not right at all."
"I agree with that one, Ashlee. I have a friend named Preston Garvmen buried here. He was only 28 when he passed due to brain cancer he had since he was 25. I miss him a lot right now and I'm glad he was put to rest before the Order took over our island."
Manda looked at him and replied, "So sorry for your loss, Riley. He must of been a great guy."
"He really was. A lot of the cards in my own deck were his at one time and his family wanted me to have the cards he had before he passed on. I still do miss him to this day."
They nodded as the large wooden door opened up and the Dark Acolyte walked out with a dark duel disk on his arm and he nodded and replied, "Morning. I'm Dark Acolyte, a follower of Specter Knight and a great duelist."
Riley saw the young hooded one and resumed, "I've seen you before. I've heard you are a decent duelist.
"I Try to be, sir. Who am I dueling today?"
Manda raised her and he nodded and replied, "The Fiend master, eh? This will be a fun duel because I saw your duel with that Weevil guy and you wiped his deck out and your deck has some decent cards in it."
She nodded and I quickly tapped her on the shoulder and replied, "Good luck with your dueling, sis."
She smiled and she walked towards him and they both activated their duel disks and both drew 5 cards.
"Game on!", both yelled out.

Back inside of the Lich Yard, Specter Knight and Reize were about to watch the duel.
Reize then replied, "Sir, you have any idea what kind of deck he uses?"
"He never actually told me about at all, son. I don't even know what deck he's going to use against her. Whatever the deck will be, I really hope it's strong enough to wipe her deck out. Her beast deck is really strong and powerful."
"I hope so too, sir. I really do hope so and if he does lose, they'll be going after you and your deck next."
"I already know that one, Reize. My deck is so much better then that Blowhard King Knight's deck. I'll have no trouble wiping out any of those girls in a duel."

Back at the duel, the first turn was about to begin.

Dark Acolyte then replied, "You can have the first turn if you want to, miss."
"I think I will. I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
Dark Acolyte drew a card and replied, "I'll summon my Samurai Skull."
As he sat the card down, a skeletal-like samurai with rusted armor and a sword appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"When this card is Normal Summoned, I Can send any zombie monster from my deck to the graveyard."
He did so and then resumed, "I attack now."
It went in and a Winged Minion appeared on the card (DEF: 700) and the zombie slashed it to pieces with his sword.
"Always wanted to win against a Fiend deck. Your move now, miss."
Manda drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Terraforming to get a Yami Field spell from my graveyard."
She quickly grabbed the card and activated it and a dark void formed around her side of the field.
"I now summon my Opticlops."
He played the card and the one-eyed Fiend appeared (ATK: 1,800 - 2,000).
"Destroy his Samurai Skull."
The fiend charged and rammed its horn into the zombified samurai and smashed it into rusted armor pieces and broken bone fragments (Dark Acolyte LP: 8000 - 7700).
"Your turn now."
Dark Acolyte drew a card and replied, "You are a very strong duelist, lady. I'll set a new monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Manda drew a card and replied, "I summon a new monster for you all to see. I summon my Disc Demon."
As she sat the card down, a really amazing looking Fiend appeared. It was a tall Fiend with white and black makeup, white gloves and flame-shaped hair and was wearing a blue suit (ATK: 1,800 - 2,000) and Jordan saw the monster and she nodded and resumed, "I've heard of those cards and they were released in full sets of various Fiends and they are hard to find."
Riley nodded and resumed, "My dad wanted her to have as his way of saying thanks for saving our village from that bug maniac."
"Time For some battling. Disc Demon attacks first and when it destroys a monster, you take 300 damage."
It let out a deep laugh as a burst of red and black disc-shaped projectiles shot out and a Pyramid Turtle appeared on the card (DEF: 1,400) and the attack sliced into and it let out a deep moan of pain before it crumbled into dust & sand (Dark Acolyte LP: 7700 - 7400) and then a 2nd one appeared (DEF: 1,400) and the Fiend charged in and rammed into the large zombie turtle and smashed it to pieces and then Dark Acolyte nodded and replied, "I Special Summon my Vendread Wasps."
As he sat the card down, a trio of 3 black-striped wasps appeared (ATK: 500) and Emmie then replied, "If this is a Vendread Ritual Deck, this might be trouble for her. Vendread decks are really powerful if used right."
"I won't stop until I win. I end my turn now."
Dark Acolyte drew a card and replied, "Time for the first one. I activate my Vendread Hidden Lab."
The Spell card appeared.
"I Now activate the Ritual Spell Card Revendread Origins."
The spell appeared.
"I'll tribute my Wasps and then banish a Pyramid Turtle to Special Summon my Vendread Chimera."
As the the turtle and trio of wasps vanished, a strange and horrid-looking zombie appeared. it looked a large zombie that had various body parts such as tentacles, insect-like limbs, mouths, eyes, claws and they were even entire faces on parts of the body (ATK: 2,300) and Jordan then replied, "Man, what a eyesore."
"Time to use a effect. Since my Wasps were used to Ritual Summon a Vendread Ritual monster and when it attacks once per turn, it destroys any Spell or Trap Card you have and thanks to my lab, it gains 100 attack times its level."
It began to glow (ATK: 2,300 - 2,800).
"Lets do it. Destroy her Optlclops."
The tentacles of the strange creature shot out and wrapped the Fiend around the chest with them and it dragged it towards the body and unlike most ways of destroying the monster, it literally absorbed her Fiend (Manda LP: 8000 - 7200) and then her field area dissolved into dust (ATK: 2,000 - 1,800) and the hooded duelist nodded and resumed, "When it destroys a monster in battle while my lab is on the field, you take 100 damage x the level of your monster."
She moaned in pain (Manda LP: 7200 - 6800).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
Manda drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my Disc Demon to defense and then a new monster facedown and 1 card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
The Ritual monster stopped glowing (ATK: 2,800 - 2,300) and he drew a card and replied, "I summon my Guard Ghost."
As he sat the card down, some sort of zombified guard with a wooden bat for a weapon appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Guard Ghost attacks your Demon."
It charged in slammed its weapon into the chest of her monster and it let out a deep moan before it burst in a cloud of black & red smoke.
"Time to fight. Chimera, attack her facedown monster."
That horrid thing growled as it shot its tentacles out and a strange Fiend with a blue head, yellow armor and a staff for a weapon appeared on the card (DEF: 400) and it wrapped its tentacles and tore the strange creature in two with a single pull of its tentacles and the remains dissolved into blue dust (Manda LP: 6800 - 6400) Manda nodded and resumed, "Slate Warrior drains 500 attack and defense from any monster it crushes in battle."
"blue spots formed all over the zombie's body (ATK: 2,300 -1,800).
"Your a clever duelist. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Call of the Haunted."
The trap appeared and her Disc Demon reappeared with a deep laugh (ATK: 1,800) and I really liked the art of this monster.
"I tribute him for my Dragon Beast Demon."
It let out one more laugh and vanished as a tall green-skinned Fiend with a demon-like mask, white hair appeared and it was wearing a blue and red robe and sandals (ATK: 2,300) and I smiled and resumed, "The art job they did for these cards are amazing."
"I use his effect now. I target a monster you control and it loses 200 attack times its level."
The horrid zombie let out deep moaning noises (ATK: 1,800 - 800).
"Destroy it."
It let out a deep laugh as a burst of black and green flames shot and slammed into the huge zombie and its tentacles flailed around and it let out a loud moaning noise before it exploded into a shower of black & green slime (Dark Acolyte LP: 7400 - 5900) and he nodded and replied, "When a Vendread Ritual monster is destroyed while I control my Lab, I draw a card."
He drew a card.
"Your zombie army won't stop me from beating you! I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Guard to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all for me."
Manda drew a new card and resumed, "I summon my Archfiend Soldier."
She played and her demon soldier appeared again (ATK: 1,900).
"Lets do this. Soldier attacks your Ghost."
It went and swung his sword, cutting the soldier into small white fragments.
"Dragon Beast Demon, attack!"
It let out another burst of black flames and a and some sort of windy fairy appeared on the card (DEF: 1,400) and the fiery attack struck and it dissolved into a cloud of freezing mist and Dark Acolyte then replied, "When my Prediction Princess Arrowsylph is flipped up, I Can add any Ritual Spell Card from my deck to my hand."
He took the card from the deck and added it to his hand.
"Sounds good. I end my turn now."
Dark Acolyte drew a card and replied, "I activate Spellbook from inside of the Pot."
Both drew 3 cards and then he resumed, "I use my Ritual Spell Card."
the spell appeared.
"I'll send my Reveandread Striges from my hand and I'll banish my Ghost Guard and to Ritual Summon my Revendread Slayer."
A trio of zombified crows appeared and the zombie guard both vanished into white smoke, a taller and more evil-looking zombie appeared (ATK: 2,400) and then the Lab card glowed (ATK: 2,400 - 3,000).
"Lets do it. Destroy her Soldier."
The eyes of the horrid zombie glowed as two beams of dark energy shot out and blasted the soldier to pieces (Manda LP: 5300 - 4200) and then his lab card glowed and she moaned even more (Manda LP: 4200 - 3800) and the zombie ritual duelist nodded and resumed, "When a Ritual monster using Striges destroys a monster in battle, I can draw a card and then discard one."
He drew a card and then quickly discarded one and he resumed, "Your move now."
Manda drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Mystical Space Typhoon."
The storm began and the lab card collapsed into small black shards (ATK: 3,000 - 2,400).
"I'll set a monster and switch my Dragon Beast to defense and I'll set a card and that'll be all for now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Master Kyonshee."
As he sat the card down, the undead martial artist appeared (ATK: 1,750).
"Lets do it. Slayer, attack."
The zombie went in and punched the demon and its eyes bugged out before it vanished in a cloud of black & green smoke and he nodded and resumed, "When you take out my Dragon Beast Demon in anyway, I Can return 1 Fiend monster from my hand and two from my graveyard back to my deck."
She took her Lilith, Lady of Lament and then took the Disco Demon and Archfiend Soldier and shuffled the cards into her deck and then drew a card and discarded one quickly and he resumed, "Kyonshee, attack."
It went in and a Alice, Lady of Lament appeared on the card (DEF: 2,000) and she smiled as the zombie quickly retreated (Dark Acolyte LP: 5900 - 5650).
"Clever move, lady. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I activate my facedown card."
The trap appeared.
"It's called Archfiend's Ghastly Glitch and if I control a Fiend monster, you lose a monster!"
The eyes of Alice glowed with malice and evil as two beams of fiery light shot out and cleaved through the zombie monster. It glowed as it slowly slid apart and its remains dissolved into pools of black & green slime.
"I tribute my Alice and bring forth my Dark Ruler Ha Des."
She smiled evily and faded away into pixels as the demon ruler appeared with a laugh (ATK: 2,450).
" I attack your Kyonshee now."
It glowed and she resumed, "I chain his attack with Action Magic - Full Turn."
The spell appeared and she discarded a Fiendish Rhino Warrior and it resumed, "Now you take double the damage now."
The Fiend lord laughed as a burst of black & green flames shot out and it consumed the zombie and the flames died down and what was left of him was a steaming pile of hot ash (Dark Acolyte LP: 5650 - 4250) and Manda resumed, "Your turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll set a new monster and a card facedown and that's all for me."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Gil Garth."
He played the card and the robot-like Fiend appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"I attack your facedown monster."
The demon lord laughed as a burst of black & green flames shot out and a Sprit Reaper appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and the flames did nothing to it.
"Clever move. I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Spellbook Inside the Pot."
Both drew 3 cards and then resumed, "I tribute my Reaper for my Scar of the Vendread."
The reaper faded away into pixels as a huge zombie in a large black and blue robe appeared (ATK: 2,300) and I nodded and resumed, "That thing reminds of that Nemesis zombie from Resident Evil 3. One of my favorite games of the series."
"I now equip it with my Black Pendant."
A small black necklace appeared around its neck (ATK: 2,300 -2,800).
"Destroy his Ha Des."
That zombie's arm glowed as it morphed into a rocket launcher and aimed at the metal Fiend and then it fired as a burst of black screaming skulls shot out and it plowed into the Fiend and smashed it into metal shards and its corroded, broken sword fell and and smashed against the ground (Manda LP: 3800 - 2800).
"That'll end my turn now."
Manda resumed, "I activate my Underworld Cyclone."
The spell appeared.
"I banish a Fiend monster to banish a Spell or Trap you have and I choose my Fiendish Rhino Warrior."
She took the card and the pendant dissolved into particles (ATK: 2,800 - 2,300).
"I'll switch my Ha Des to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all for now."
It drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Mezuki."
She played the card and a horse-headed zombie appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"Mezuki, attack."
It went in and slashed at the demon lord and he moaned and the burst into a cloud of black & green smoke.
"Scar attacks again."
It fired another wave of skulls and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the skulls plowed into and smashed it into small broken pieces and both drew 5 cards and resumed, "I'll set a card for later and that's all I can do."
She drew a card and resumed, "I activate Monster Reborn."
The spell appeared and the Dragon Beast Demon appeared (ATK: 2,300).
"In now summon my La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp."
He played the card and a magic lamp appeared as a green-smkoed genie came out of it (ATK: 1,800).
"I'll drain your monster of attack power."
The zombie glowed (ATK: 2,300 - 1,100).
"Toast that horrid zombie."
The Demon laughed as a burst of green flames shot out and slammed into the strange creature and it moaned as flames covered its armor before it exploded into black globules.
"La Jinn attacks now."
The genie let out a deep chuckle as a burst of green flames struck the zombie and burned it to fiery cinders & ash (Dark Acolyte LP: 4250 - 2950).
"There you go. I End my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed,"I'll banish my Mezuki to bring back my Master Kyonshee."
He banished it and resumed, "I tribute it for my Choju of the Trillion Hands."
The zombie dissolved into dust and a beautiful floating golden Fairy statue with many arms appeared (ATK: 1,400) and he resumed, "I grab a Ritual Spell and monster."
He grabbed the cards and then he opened his field slot and resumed, "I activate my Revendread Nights."
He slid the card into the slot and a abandoned city with broken windows and cars everywhere.
"I activate my Contract with the Abyss."
The spell appeared.
"I tribute my Chouji and a Shinobi Necro from my hand to Ritual Summon my Vendread Battlelord."
A undead samurai appeared and it and the fairy faded away into pixels and then, a large skeletal creature with a huge bladed sword for a weapon appeared (ATK: 2,700) and saw the giant zombie and resumed, "What a eyesore that thing is."
"I attack your La Jinn."
The huge Zombie went and swung his sword and it went through the genie and it burst in a cloud of hazy green smoke (Manda LP: 2800 - 1900) and he nodded and resumed, "With my Field Spell and when a Revendread monster destroys a monster, I can banish a Vendread monster and let it attacks once more."
He banished the Vendread Chimera and then it went and slashed at her final Fiend and it burst into cloud of fiery embers & green smoke (Manda LP: 1900 - 1500).
"That'll do for me."
She drew a card and resumed, I summon my Sky King Wild Wing."
She played the card and a Fiend with two white wings and a head of a eagle and a feathered covered body appeared (ATK: 1,000).
"Since a control a Fiend Tuner monster with 1,500 attack or less, I can Special Summon my Wandering King Wildwind."
He played the card and a more beastly Fiend appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"I tune my monsters together."
Wild Wing glowed as it split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Wildwind, which turned into 4 white stars (*3 + *4 = *7).
"Descend to the Earth and make judgment upon the living! Synchro Summon. Descend now, Dark Highlander!"
He played the card and a powerful Fiend with a large sharp scythe for a weapon appeared (ATK: 2,600).
"Since I used my Wind Wing in a Synchro Summon, my monster gains 500 attack and your monster loses 800 attack."
Her Synchro glowed (ATK: 2,600 - 3,100) and the zombie glowed as well (ATK: 2,700 - 1,900).
"Destroy his monster!"
The Synchro swung its blade and a huge dark blade of energy shot out and sliced through the Synchro and cracks formed all over it before it exploded into broken pieces of bone (Dark Acolyte LP: 2950 - 1750).
"There you go! I end my turn now."
He drew a card and he resumed, "I now activate my final Origins."
The spell appeared.
"I'll banish my Scar of the Vendread and tribute a Gozuki from my hand to summon my best monster."
The armored zombie appeared and they both burst in a shower of dust and a more horrid and mutated form of Vendread Slayer appeared (ATK: 3,000).
"Meet the mighty and awesome Revendread Executor."
Jordan saw the monster and replied, "Damn, what a eyesore that thing is."
"Destroy her Synchro."
The eyes of the horrid creature glowed as many beams of dark light shot out and they sliced through her Synchro and cracks formed all over his armor before it exploded in a shower of black globules (Manda LP: 1500 - 1200) and she smiled and resumed, "I activate my facedown card."
The trap flipped up.
"It's called Shadow Impulse and now I can Special Summon a Synchro monster from my Extra with the same type and level as my Highlander and with that I Synchro Summon the powerful Chaos King Archfiend!"
Her Extra Deck glowed as a huge fiery Fiend with a large dark claw for a weapon appeared (ATK: 2,600) and I saw the monster and then I smiled and resumed, "This duel is over now."
The hooded duelist sighed and then he resumed, "Your are a amazing duelist, Manda. Go for the win."
"It was a fun match for me. Attack his Executor."
The Synchro went and it closed in (ATK: 3,000 - 0) as it slashed through the giant Zombie and it let out a low bellowing cry before it exploded in a shower of acidic black and green slime (Dark Acolyte LP: 1750 - 0) and I smiled and replied, "I knew she could do it."
Her Synchro raised its giant arm in the air before vanishing and then he nodded and replied, "You're really are a great duelist, lady. Come back tomorrow and you'll be facing my boss in a duel. Until then, good day."
He turned around and walked back into the Lich Yard and the doors closed behind him and Riley nodded and replied, "Let's head back to the village, ladies."
They all nodded as they all left.

As long as this card is faceup on the field, Negate and destroy any card's effects that would target a "Vendread" Ritual monster the turn it is Ritual Summoned or Tribute Summoned. When a "Vendread" Ritual monster destroys a monster in battle while this card is faceup on the field, your opponent takes 100 damage x the level/Rank of the destroyed monster.
