Feelings Two.
But as quickly as it started, the hunter stopped it, and broke the connection by stepping out of Castiel's reach.
D: I'm sorry for that. It was just too much, I needed some release. Looking a little ashamed of himself, he took a sit, and poured them another glass of whiskey. Can you make the ice frost again? To stunt to react any other way, angel charm the ice cubs.
D: You told me before that touching my soul will hurt, but I didn't felt pain.
C: It wasn't the procedure I talk about. I wasn't touching your soul, but merely feeling it, connecting with my grace, but not on a deeper level. Do you want to check if Allister indeed left his mark on your soul?
Another silence from the hunter was interrupt only by ice dancing in the glass between larger sips of his whiskey. Looking outside the window, he was watching siblings playing on a beautiful park near the hotel. He's thought to go straight to Sam. He missed his brother deeply.
D: What I want is to see Sam. Speaking the truth, he saw Castiel hesitate. Hunter wonder if angel truly will take him to the younger Winchester.
C: Are you really ready for meeting him?
Taking a deep breath and finishing his drink, he stood from the table, and go straight to angel. D: Yes, Castiel, take me to him. Please.
C: As you wish. At that, they teleport to the shabby hotel. A little disoriented hunter was instructed by his angel companion, about the room his brother was occupied. Going for it the moment he felt stable, he looked at his right, watching as Castiel going right after him.
D: Cas, don't get me wrong, but I would like to meet Sammy by myself.
C: It's not negotiable, Dean. We are going together. Don't you see demonic powers here? I can taste the sulphur. It's disgusting.
Focusing on Castiel's words, the older Winchester check area again. Too his shock, he too could see red, and black ooze coming all over the place. He didn't smell anything, but colours were real. And he learned, that this was something that an angel such as Castiel can see. D: Do you think Sammy is in danger there?
His celestial companion knew him well enough, that he didn't answer. Just reach for his angel blade, at the same time Dean took his demon knight, and gun for good measure. After one last look, they took off together.
D: Sammy? Sam! Are you there?
They heard someone shuffling at the other side of the door. Dean started to pray for his friend. *Dear Castiel, can you check how many people are on the other side?*.
C: *I can feel two persons*.
D: *My brother is one of them?*
C: *I think so. I can feel your blood, but there's something wrong*.
D: *What?*
C: *I don't want to talk about it*.
As the lock on the doors started to be open. Dean wasn't ready for breaking the connection, *What do you mean? You promise, that talking like that is the most truthful thing we can have*.
C: *Yes, Dean, that's why I don't want to talk about it. You need to check and see for yourself. It's your brother, I know how much you love him*.
D: *So there's something wrong with…*
At that doors opened, and beautiful woman look them up and down, and start over the top screaming, yelling "Sam! Somebody's here with guns!". At the same time, Dean heard in his head *She's a demon*. One thought from Castiel was enough for the older hunter to react. He pinned the woman to the wall, and was about to pierce her by his blade. But something was reaching out for him. Stopping him. He looked back only to see his younger brother, knocking him off.
D: *Cas…*
One word from the older Winchester, and demon with Sammy were pinned to nearby chairs. Younger Winchester was angry, he tried to break the power of angel. The older hunter gets up from the floor, and get closer to his celestial companion. He couldn't believe in the colours he's seeing.
D: *Cas, is Sam… is he a demon?*
S: What do you want? Stop using illusion of my brother, or you'll regret existing! The girl next to him give Sam an imploring look, and really quiet said: Sam, stop, he's not a demon, I can feel it. Just shut up! S: What?
Dean wasn't paying much attention to Sam and the demon conversation, he looked straight at Castiel, whom hands were reaching for his younger brother. Reading his aura. He so it with colours, and all angel glory. C: *No, he's not a demon, but he has demon blood in him, a lot of it.*
D: *That's why I see red around him? And black ooze around that bitch?*
C: *Yes. What do you want to do?*
D: *I don't know. Why he has demon blood in him? Do you know?*
As the conversation between Dean and Castiel continue, Sam has trouble to stop from fidgeting. Looking at his brother body and being force to endure it was hard. He was high on blood, and the only real thought on mind was a figuring a way to kill these two demons.
D: Sammy?
The voice of the older Winchester made an impression.
D: Sammy, it's me, Dean. It's really me.
S: Screw you! Go back to hell!
The girl next to him, quietly admitted: Sam, it's Dean. It's really him. His telling the truth. Younger hunter look back at his supposedly brother. He couldn't believe it…
S: Oh really? So why I am pinned by this dick head… Dean. My brother wouldn't do that to me.
D: It's okay, Cas, you can release him.
C: Are you sure?
D: Yeah man, stop that. And then in mind add *The bitch is staying in place, and I please don't interfere when Sam will start to go at me. He isn't convinced still.*
Angel of the Lord just nodded, and take the spell from his companion brother.
After freeing himself from the grip of power, Sam moved toward Dean, pulling out a spare dagger attached to a strap on his right calf. He attacked. Anticipating this move, the elder Winchester immobilized him with his hands, knocked the dagger out of his hand and, holding it in his grasp, uttered the only word that could convince his brother that it was really him: bongibo.
Sam stiffened and whispered: bongibo?
Yes, replied Dean, bongibo.
The younger Winchester's body relaxed. Dean?
Yes, Sammy, it's me. Replied Dean, releasing him from his embrace.
S: How is this possible? How did you escape from hell?
They hug for a long time. Neither didn't know what to say. The girl couldn't stand it: Sam, sorry to interrupt your reunion, but can you let me go? I have things to do. Hey'a Dean, long time no see.
D: Ruby?
R: One and only. Whose your friend?
D: Someone whose not fond of you. That I can say.
C: Dean, she's a demon.
At these words, the young Winchester again put on a brave stance. He moved toward Ruby to shield her from the newcomer. Then he turned back to his brother.
S: Dean, let her go.
D: Why? I mean, what is she doing here?
S: Let her go. Let's talk about this in private. After a moment's thought and a meaningful glance toward his older brother's companion, he added: just the two of us.
In the same time, Dean companion get really close to him, and say quietly.
C: Dean, you are not serious. You see what I see. Why?
To Sam, it looked like he was reading the mind of his brother. Which was not possible, but the feeling in his gut said otherwise. Dean looked only on blue eye man. Evidently trying to convey something to him beyond words.
D: Cas, please.
A deep sigh and the elder Winchester's companion snapped his hands, letting Ruby go.
The demoness immediately sprang to her feet and melted into the air without saying goodbye. Sam analysed how much of a danger the man in the beige trench coat posed that his partner waddled away without a word.
D: Okay, Sam, this is Castiel. He save me from hell.
S: You are not a demon.
This is the only thing that came to the mind of the younger hunter at that moment.
C: No, I'm not.
Sam had the impression that he was talking to a wall. Extracting feedback will border on the miraculous.
S: So, what are you?
His brother interjected into the conversation. D: He is an angel of the Lord.
Silence permeated the room, and then Sam started laughing. But his brother's face maintained a serious expression.
D: This is the Lord's angel, Castiel, the angel of the fourth day. Sammy, I have much to tell you, but not here. Come with me.
S: Where? Where do we need to go?
D: Where no one can hear us, Castiel is not yet skilled at blocking transmission for too long. We'll come back to ours, we have safeguards against eavesdropping.
S: Ours? We? Dean, you sound like a madman.
D: Maybe so, but do you trust me?
S: Of course, I trust you.
After these words, his head whirled and all he felt was a squeeze on his shoulder. The next second, he was lying on a bed in a room whose walls were painted with blood-colored runes.
Slowly regaining consciousness, he heard a conversation between his brother and his angel.
C: Dean, Sam, uses demonic powers.
D: That can't be true, Cas, I know Sam. He promised not to go down that road.
C: Dean.
D: I know, okay, I know. But how can I ask him that?
S: Ask me what?
D: Oh Sammy, you're awake! Are you alright? Man, I was worried that transportation get you good.
S: Dean, ask me what?
His brother began circling from one corner of the room to another. Avoiding eye contact, but slowly gathering himself to speak up. The angel in the beige trench coat sat unmoving at the table and poured whiskey into two glasses, magically adding ice.
This view was abstract and intriguing. Sam still did not comprehend why this thing was present at the conversation.
D: Sammy, did you use your demonic powers after my death?
All too quickly, the young hunter replied, Of course not. That was your wish on your deathbed.
D: Yeah, I know, I remember what I said. But Sam, tell the truth.
Another surprise, Dean spoke directly what he thought and was not afraid of the answer. Hell has definitely changed him, he thought in his spirit.
S: I did.
D: What? I don't believe you. You son of a bitch! Whaaaay? How could you?
The elder Winchester's raised voice caused a twitch on Sam's face. Anger was rising in his younger brother. Between the news of Dean's recovery, the blood-induced high and something purporting to be the Lord's angel, he didn't have a moment to breathe. Finally, he snapped.
S: You were gone! You were gone, and I had to stay here. I had to fight.
D: WHAT? And you couldn't fight, like a hunter?
S: I don't think you understand what I was to gone through.
D: Oh, believe me, I can imagine. I was in literal hell. And now I look at you and see the demon in you. Can you understand what I feel? Can you?
Confusion and fear were evident in the younger brother's eyes. D: Yes, I see it in you. It's no fine thing, Sam. You knew that from the beginning. Why do you continue to pursue it? What are you doing with Ruby? Answer me!
Tears involuntarily flowed into Sam's eyes. He didn't know what to say. He felt that the truth could destroy the relationship with his older brother. And he only just got it back. However, he knew he could no longer remain silent. He pulled himself together and said as much as he felt he could.
S: Ruby, she saved my life. That's why she accompanies me. After the devil dogs got you, I tried to bargain with the demons for my life. About bringing you back to life. I was reckless and desperate…. It's a long story. Just know that Ruby saved my life, and now accompanies me when I fight other demons, exercising my powers….
I know Dean, I know they are not good. But I wanted to turn this disgusting feeling I have inside me into something good. Now I save people possessed by demons, I don't have to kill them.
D: You're doing it by mind?
The older Winchester's voice grew louder. He was increasingly angry. What Sam was saying seemed like a normal explanation, but the visible red border around his person was driving Dean crazy. He felt that something was wrong. He approached Sam dangerously fast, knowing that when he reached him, he would slap him across the face. Hard. Fortunately, there was an angel sitting on his shoulder, figuratively or not. Castiel knew there could be no escalation.
C: Dean, calm down. Take a deep breath, and maybe… take a drink?
A few words from his angelic companion caused his entire body to relax. Sitting down next to his ally, he felt his brother's mocking gaze on him. He turned to him in a calm tone.
D: Sammy, would you like a drink? How about a beer? Are you hungry? Actually, I am. Before his brother had time to answer, he turned to the angel again. Cas, are you able to conjure up some hamburgers, fries, and maybe a carton of beer?
The angel rolled his eyes, but after a while all the necessary products appeared on the table. Awesome, concluded Dean. Unable to stand Sam's stares, he hurried him away: Come on, sit with us. We need to talk.
His younger brother, still wary of Castiel, accepted the older hunter's invitation with a smile. He relaxed, knowing that the subject of his demonic powers would be ignored for a while. Okay, okay, let's talk about what you wanted to convey to me. I'm ready.
And so began the first real conversation between the two Winchester brothers and the angel of the Lord, who had a glimpse of what their relationship was like. With Sam's update, carried out by Dean, he began to understand where the brothers' strength lay.
