AN: I don´t own Star Wars… you know this already.
Chapter 1:
I sigh,
This is a fucking mess; I was sitting in a meeting with the rest of the high command. One hour ago e have received news that a battle hat taken place between the Republic and the CiS, and with it, a war was started. So now, we were sitting here, a request from the chancellor to explore a military option against one side or the other. Minerva Countess Eleanora, the chief of the general staff, and fellow field marshal, addressed us and said: "As I said earlier, the current situation is critical; our Forces are in a phase of re-training, and modernisation process. So I would like an opinion about our options." Turning to me, she said: "Field Marshal, please Report." I nod and answer: "My own 1st Army is nearly completely combat ready, however the 1st and 2nd Infantry Division is still not ready, as they are not motorised yet. And the first fleet is in shambles. Currently missing are: 18 battleships, 10 cruisers, 28 destroyers and 160 supply ships." The others nod I move to continue, before I can however, Major General Octavius, XVII corps commander, interrupts me and said with a sneer: "I would have done far better.." before he can continue, my friend`s Minerva and 3rd Army commander Henry Pellaeon, his cousin is a republic officer, silence him with fiery language. I had to suppress a smirk at the said, nod at them and continue: "The case is similar with the rest of our forces, while our land-forces are strong and modern; our Navy is not ready for a war yet. This will change soon tough, as in the next three months around 300 ships will come online." Minerva nods at me, stands up and starts to speak herself again: "Thank you, field marshal. As you just said our navy is not ready for war yet, anyhow, we might have no choice, as the chancellor and the emperor might declare war anyway. The problem we are facing is that we are not ready for a war, but our negotiation is currently the strongest as neither the CiS nor the Republic have mobilised yet and the strength of our land-forces is on par with them, however, this cannot be expected that this will last as they are already mobilising. So the longer we wait, the worst the terms of an alliance will be." As I hear her speak I can´t help but agree with her. What will happen if we wait too long? Will one side decide that we are a danger and invade us? Will we have to sacrifice our independence for safety? I move to speak: I think it would be better to join the republics side, but to also negotiate with the CiS to achieve better terms from the republic." Minerva, Henry, and most of the others agree with me, Octavius and one other intelligence officer disagree with us, not surprising, seeing as they both have family in higher CiS positions and both own stocks of the Trade federation.
Later as I stand in the chancellor office, he himself, as well as the emperor, Minerva, Henry, the CnC of the border guard ant the foreign minister are there. As per our recommendation, a delegation will be sent to the Republic and a fake delegation to the CiS. Myself, an ambassador and a few other officials will go to the Republic and a similar group under Minerva will travel to the CiS.
To be continue
AN: I have a few questions I would appreciate a comment or two about them: First, should the main OC be force sensitive? Second, what should his name be? And thirdly should there be a pairing? And if yes what should it be?
Thank you.
