When you join a gang, there comes with it a certain attitude every ganger must have. They must be as tough as nails. Never should they show any weakness and they should always be ready to strike down whoever pisses them off. The Sukeban members were no exceptions. As one of the biggest gangs outside of the Helmet gangs they sometimes fought, they were a force to be feared. Normally they kept their heads down. Well, mostly that is. Big groups were a big target for the schools. So they went about things in the shadows or in small groups.

Now things had changed. No longer did they need to skulk about in the shadows. Now they could freely move about Kivotos at their leisure. The President's disappearance had broken the facade of peace the city used to enjoy. Now it was a time of chaos. The sukeban gang was ready and willing to take advantage of it.

How could they not? They had all the weapons and numbers they could ever want. A number of low grade and dropouts had joined them in the warzone. They had stolen enough tanks and ammo to last them through this whole mess. Things were finally looking up for them. Nothing could make them anxious.

A pleasant humming could be heard.

The sound made all the sukeban quiver slightly. Sure the owner was on their side but they could never be sure when she would turn on them. Thus was the nature of one of the most feared criminals in Kivotos: Wakamo Kosake.

The fox girl was currently chilling on top of one of their panzer tanks they had stolen. Her legs wiggled about as she hummed a pleasant tune. Her black kimono had red highlights with black and white 'flowers' spread about it. It was pretty short for a kimono since it stopped just after her hips and showed off quite a bit of leg and hip, just covering enough to be decent. She was leaning backwards, her long, wooden rifle casually resting on her shoulders with her arms splayed around it.

The glint of the bayonet tended to hit any thug who looked her way. Then again, rarely did they look her way. She was far too scary for them. Her reputation as one of the Seven worst criminals was well known. No one wanted to get on her bad side. So they hoped she didn't really pay attention to them. It was hard to tell that, though. She wore a decorative fox mask on her face all the time. None of the sukebans had seen her naked face. None of them dared to try.

"So," Wakamo's voice caused the gang members to jump in fear, "Are they close by yet?"

"Ummm," one sukeban gulped, "No?"

"Phooey," Wakamo huffed, "I was hoping to play with someone. Today has been fun but I haven't really gotten a good work out yet. Oh well," she jumped off of the tank, landing daintily on the ground. "I guess we can continue onto that Schale building. I was saving it for last but boredom is a terrible thing."

As if the universe heard of her boredom, a distant rumble could be heard. Everyone turned to the location. There wasn't a massive plume of smoke like Wakamo had wanted but that noise was definitely interesting nonetheless. Just as quickly as the noise stopped, a number of phones started to ring. The various sukebans took up their smartphones and answered.

"HELP!"

"SOMEONE BRING US REINFORCEMENTS!"

"WHERE ARE YOU GUYS RIGHT NOW? THE SOUP STORE?"

"I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS!"

Those and more were shouted over amongst the group. Several of them shivered. What was pushing back their gals? Some of them were itching to go and fight, while others just fumbled about. If so many girls were calling, then it must be horrible.

Wakamo couldn't help but let a smirk form on her face. Wonderful. Finally something for her to do. She giggled.

"Come, girls." She strutted forward, lazily bringing her gun to bear. "Let's go have some fun~"

The gang members couldn't help but smirk. The tanks started to fire up and they checked their ammo one last time before departing. Even if she scared them out of their wits, with Wakamo on their side they couldn't lose. Now it was their turn to make whoever was doing their fellow sukebans dirty cry for their mothers.

Napoleon couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh. Another group of these gangers was defeated and scampered back. Another tank lay broken in the street. Well what was left of the street. He had used a little bit more force with his blasts this time since it was a larger group. That and just to make sure that the tank would go down. He was still not sure how strong he was nor how strong these tanks could be.

The answer was a bit of a mix. He was still getting used to this whole situation. The Greater Grail was a very nifty tool. Downloading all the information he needed about the world he was in usually meant he was on top of his game right off the bat. Now though? Not so much. All he got was a rudimentary explanation about the City and its inhabitants. It was as though the Throne had a spotty connection to this realm.

Maybe that was it. He was certainly not on Earth anymore. Which was a shame. He really wanted to visit modern day France during at least one grail war. Oh well. Perhaps next time. He'd have to make due with what he had now.

Which was both a lot and not much. The general gist of it was that he was now in a land ruled by teenage girls. He had seen many things in life and the Throne, the latter was more vague though. None of it could have prepared him for such a system. Surely it would have collapsed but somehow it stood tall. Well until recently, that is.

Perhaps it was because of these halos. Each student had a unique one in appearance that seemed to fit their personality and skills. A part of him thought they must be angels but if that was true, it would indeed be the strangest heaven he'd ever seen. However, that was farthest from the truth. They were human, or at least very close to it. These halos just gave them a magical means to survive what would kill a human. It's why he didn't hold back against these girls. They could tank, well, an actual tank falling on top of them. It was fascinating. If he had these girls in his Grand Armee, he'd have never lost a battle.

That was the past though. Now he had to continue on. Six students at his command. Not the best odds but his opponents weren't exactly an organized bunch. Which was fine with him. It gave him flashbacks to the early days of the Revolution. Haphazard combat in the city with regular people picking up firearms. He was just glad it was bloodless this time.

His students gave him a lot to work with. Asuna, the busty blond in the maid outfit, was incredibly quick on her feet. An effective hit and run fighter. He had used her to get the enemies attention and drag them into several ambushes. She didn't seem to mind this. Nothing seemed to stop her from smiling. Oh what a charming lady. The men of his army would be fighting to put a ring on her, ha!

Pina and Megu were very fine at suppressing the enemy when they came into position. Pina, were her flowing but low cut red kimono, had a good rate of fire. Again, he wished he had these guns in his original army. So fast and she seemed to have a power about her that let her shoot even faster than it was logically possible. A certain flare about her and her attacks just got that much stronger, knocking out several students.

Megu, the busty redhead he was astonished was not a demon, worked wonders with her flame thrower. The type of weapon made him internally wince, especially when it came to firing it. He remembered the screams of panics as the students tried and failed to put out the flames. He was relieved how the flames seemed to die away the moment the students went unconscious.

The miracles of halos never stopped amazing him.

The last one, Suzumi, was average in most respects. However, he noted she was a fantastic hit and run fighter as well. Unlike Asuna, she wasn't as fast but her flash grenades were fantastic at disorienting their foes. Perhaps he'd buy a pair of sunglasses in the future so it wouldn't be so annoying for himself. He may be a servant, but even he had to look away from such blasts.

"Fantastic," he shouted joyfully, turning to his students. "A pluses for all of you!"

He was a Sensei now. It was so strange to think of himself as a teacher. Sure he had taught his army how to win, but he had never personally taught girls before. He'd have to move on ahead and hope for the best like he always did.

"An A plus!" Asuna cheered, "Yay! I didn't even know I was being tested. Must be my lucky day."

"I usually only get B's so this is a happy surprise," Megu laughed, "I knew Sensei would love my fiery passion."

"Just be careful where you aim it next time," Rin muttered, wiping away a bit of soot on her clothes. She was lucky Sensei had pushed her down or she'd be a bit more singed right about now.

Lea was huffing, "I hate walking."

"Walking a mile a day is good for you," Suzumi said, "I do it all the time on my patrols."

"I am a civilized person!" Lea shouted in frustration, "We invented helicopters for a reason!"

"Now, now." Napoleon stepped in, "We musn't fight amongst ourselves. Our enemy is just around the corner, both metaphorically and literally. We must stand strong and united." He gave them a dazzling smile, "Just stick with me and we'll make them rue the day they brandished their guns against this city."

Rin's phone started to ring just at that moment. She picked it up and immediately answered. Her eyes narrowed as she listened to it before sighing.

"We'll be right there," she turned it off. "There's a Valkyrie position not far from here. They're pinned down and need to be evacuated."

"Armed damsels in distress," Napoleon nodded, "Well this shouldn't be an issue for us. I'll carry them out of the fire of the enemy's making if I have to."

"Just so long as someone doesn't add to it," Rin gave Megu a sidelined glare.

Megu just gave a large grin in return, "No promises~"

Rin simply shook her head as she started to move ahead of the group, "I expect you all to continue supporting Sensei. He's our Ace in the hole, as it were."

"Yeah," Pina said, "I don't think we'd make it this far this fast without him."

Napoleon hummed in thought as he walked behind the girls.

"I should have called in sick," a student grumbled as they hid behind a now defunct car.

She was a girl on the smaller side and wore a blue uniform and white coat over it. Her darker blue tie was neatly tucked into her uniform. Her hair, which was mostly blue with some lighter blue strands, was done in a ponytail. Probably the most effort she usually put into herself.

This was Fubuki. A member of the Public Safety Bureau branch of the Valkyrie Police Academy. A first year, she had entered the program specifically to laze around. Why wouldn't she? She wasn't a person of action. She just wanted to sit back and eat donuts. The PSB gave her the perfect opportunity to do so. All they got called in for was to rescue cats from trees or minor offenses. It wasn't too often and usually it was handled in minutes. Just up her alley.

Well that is until today. The city was in chaos which obviously meant that Valkyrie was spread thin. So the Public Safety Bureau had to step in and plug in the gaps. Joy. At least she wasn't alone but that did little to lift her spirits. A couple of dozen here wouldn't do much against the horde of gangsters they were fighting now.

"Don't give up, Fubuki."

Another young girl shouted as she tried to hit something with her burst of fire. Not one bullet seemed to do the job though. It was like every shot missed the mark. She groaned and took cover, slightly hitting her gun as if it would change things.

This was Kirino, her partner. Her white uniform was much neater and more tidy then hers. Even her long pigtails from her white hair had more care and thought put into the braids. Well that was because Kirino actually cared about being a police officer. She even wanted to move up the ranks. Fubuki couldn't help but sigh. Of course she'd be stuck with someone who actually has ambitions. Just her luck.

"We have to keep fighting," Kirino said, "Kivotos needs us to save the day."

"Just like superheroes," Fubuki lazily said, "Give it a break. We aren't going to win. There's, what, a million of them out there."

"That's quitter talk," Kirino said, "Besides, it's probably just about a hundred or so."

A nearby car exploded, causing the officers behind it to scramble to better cover. The two young recruits gulped as they watched it happen. The tell tale noise was easy to get a gist of what it was from.

"And some tanks too."

"What great luck," Fubuki deadpanned, "So do we die by tank or a hail of gunfire?"

"We're not dying today!" Kirino shouted as much for Fubuki and herself.

"So long as I get to die in a donut shop, I'll be happy." Fubuki started to look around while she said that, "See any of them around?"

"Fubuki!" Kirino shouted in exasperation.

They suddenly heard someone land on the car they were hiding on. They looked up and tensed. It was one of the sukeban holding a shotgun looming down at them. She must have been smirking behind that mask. They just knew it.

"Eat led, coppos."

"Coppos?" Fubuki said incredulously, "Is that really the last word I'm going to hear today?"

"Shut it and-"

A rain of bullets smashed into the ganger. She didn't so much get a yelp out as she was blown away into her companions. The two cops turned to see a group of seven come their way. The most surprising one of them was the large man. He even had a halo. What was going on?

"Over here," the man shouted from the doorway of a large building. "To me my fellow fighters of freedom!"

"Are we dead?" Fubuki asked, "Because I can't believe what I'm seeing."

"We aren't dead," Kirino said before shouting at the other girls, "Run that way!"

None of them had to be told twice. They made it there as fast as they could, which wasn't that fast given the couple of knocked out cops they had to carry with them. They raced into the building and closed it up, allowing the bullets to ping off the surface. The building shook slightly as no doubt the tank was trying to demolish it.

"HAHA!" The large man started laughing, "It's a good thing we got here just in time. I wouldn't want my cute little students to get too hurt on my watch."

"Students?" Kirino asked.

"He is our Sensei," Rin said, "For now, he works alongside the General Student Council to better the city."

"For now?" The man known as Sensei spoke, "A little pessimistic, aren't we?"

"We'll see if we can survive the day first," Rin said.

"Good point," Napoleon said with a smile, "But let's not be so pessimistic. We have all we need for victory right here."

"Then what do you suggest we do with our resources then, Sensei." Rin asked.

"I should be asking you that, Little Lady." Napoleon said.

Rin blinked a few times before her mind processed the statement, "What are you talking about? You're our Sensei. You are here to lead us through this conflict just like the President said. I would like it if you actually did your job."

"I am," Napoleon crossed his arms, "I think you forget what being a Sensei and a Master really mean. Then again, maybe the latter isn't really a thing here till today."

"Look," Rin said, walking closer to him. She stopped just shy of him and looked upwards, "We don't have time for this. We are surrounded by a larger force. You have the fire power to take care of them. Protect us."

"Is that an order, Master?" Napoleon said with a quirked eyebrow.

Rin huffed, "I am your student. I'm just giving you a strong suggestion."

"And as a Master, you should be able to order me to do as you wish." Napoleon said, "I do admit though, I'm unsure which trumps which for me. Am I a Sensei first or a Student? I've been thinking about it since I got here. I think I came up with an answer."

"And what is your answer?" Rin narrowed her eyes.

"I want you to prove your worth," Napoleon said with a smile, "Think of it like a test. Prove to me that you can command me as you see fit. Prove to me that I can be proud to call you my student."

Rin's glare deepened, "A test? Right now? Are you insane?"

"Maybe I am," Napoleon laughed before going over to lean against a walll, "As a General and Emperor, I wanted men who could follow my example. Now that I am your teacher, I want you all to do the same."

"But we can't win!" One of the officers shouted in panic. She was a bit taller then the others with long blue hair. A sniper rifle was held in her hands, "We're outnumbered without anti-tank rounds. We're doomed!"

Napoleon rolled his eyes and pushed away from the wall, "Doomed you say? You think it's impossible to win even when the enemy outnumbers you two to one? Perhaps even ten to one."

"Yes," the officer shouted. Some of the others were nodding along.

"HA!" Napoleon's response startled them, "If you think this is the worst situation I've ever found myself in, you're dead wrong."

"Oooh," Asuna spoke up, "Are we going to get a story?"

"Story, story!" Pina chimed in, "I hope it has gangsters in it."

"I'm afraid not," Napoleon shook his head, "But now isn't the time for stories. That will come later after we've reclaimed the Sanctum Tower."

"And how are we going to do that?" Rin asked snidely.

"Through bravery and wit, of course." Napoleon simply said, "No matter what an enemy can throw at you, it won't work if you work around it. It's how I achieved victory again and again in my world. You all have the same kind of spirit my men had way back then. I know it."

"We do?" Suzumi asked.

"Yes, no doubt about it." Napoleon said, "You all have just as much gusto and spirit as my soldiers. That's why you can win today. I can't win every battle for you. I don't want to. A student should attain victory through their own hard work and determination. Never should you back down from a threat. Adapt. Overcome. Vanquish. Even if you are alone against a hundred, never give up. Victory could always be around the corner, but you'd never know if you just threw your hands up in the air and surrendered."

"We could lose," Rin simply stated.

"And we could win," Napoleon said, "You just have to try. Try as hard as you can and use everything at your disposal. Make the enemy wish they stayed home."

"With what?!" Rin shouted and gestured to the students with them, "We barely have anyone here?"

"Did that stop you from going into enemy territory with just a pilot?" Napoleon said. He smirked when she didn't have an answer, "That's because you were willing to risk everything in order to achieve victory. That's the kind of spirit I'm looking for in a student. Everything is possible if you give it a chance. Losing hope is a terrible thing and I won't allow my students to lose an ounce of it."

He glanced over the whole lot of students in the room, "Valkyrie, did you give up when the enemy came at you in force? Did you leave the innocent people of this city to their fate to save your own hide?"

"No," Kirino shouted, "I would never give up when the innocent are in danger. I became an officer to help people."

"So you want to fight?"

"YES!"

"Outstanding," Napoleon put a hand over his heart, "Such drive and determination. Oooh lala, be still my heart. No doubt you'll grow to be a beautiful maiden at this rate with a passion like yours."

"Umm," Kirino blushed heavily, "Thank you?"

"Your welcome," Napoleon simply said.

Rin inwardly huffed. She wouldn't admit it, but she would have rather gotten that praise instead. She'd rather deny it openly though. She was still frustrated with her Sensei at the moment.

"Do the rest of you feel the same way?" Napoleon asked.

The rest of the officers were silent for a moment. They looked around to see how the rest of them would react. Fubuki saw this and groaned out loud. So much for lazing off. Giving up was just so tempting.

"Well," she reluctantly spoke up the moment Kirino looked at her with pleading eyes, "I'd hate for Kirino to get hurt following you guys."

"Fubuki," Kirino said with a touched expression.

"Then I'd have to take time out of my snack breaks to walk all the way to the hospital," Fubuki sighed deeply, "Too much work for future me."

"Fubuki!" Kirino shouted, mortified.

Everyone else followed suit. Why wouldn't they? If lazy Fubuki was going, none of them wanted to be left behind. Now that would be far too embarrassing.

"How about you four?" Napoleon asked the first band of his students.

"Giving up isn't my thing," Megu smirked, prepping her flamethrower. "As long as there is a hot spring to find, I'll fight to my last breath."

"They are criminals," Suzumi said, "It is my duty to apprehend them."

"It's sorta my job to fight bad guys too," Asuna said, "Plus it's fun."

"I want to be the best Gangster ever," Pina said firmly, "I can't do that if I cower away in the back. Plus you're super awesome, Sensei."

"Yah," Asuna nodded along with her fellow blonde, "Super awesome."

"Thank you," Napoleon gave a small bow, "You're too kind."

Rin let out a long breath of air. She wanted to pinch the bridge of her nose to try and stop the headache she was having. Wouldn't work though so she kept her arms to her sides.

"So you want me to lead this next fight, right?" Rin said.

"Yes," Napoleon nodded, "I'll sit this one out unless I have to jump in. Don't worry. I'll lead the charge afterwards. We still have a city to save, after all. I just want to see how you handle yourself first. I might be your Sensei but I'm also your Servant. I won't accept anything but a true commander. Are you a true commander, Rin?"

Rin's fists tightened up. She had always been second in command. She had been happy in her position of power, yes. The President was a fantastic leader. She always seemed to know what to do next. Rin had always done her best to help. She was comfortable at giving orders and being listened to on important matters. Yet to fully lead by herself? Without someone above just in case something goes wrong? Could she do it?

Rin took in a deep breath. Ideas started to sprout in that moment. Then she let the breath go, "I know what to do."

"That's the spirit!" Napoleon shouted in glee, shaking a fist in the air. "Truly we can be a Grande Armee now! Use the soldiers we have here and win!"

"Thank you, Sensei." Rin gave him a small smile. Perhaps it would be nice to have him around.

"No need to thank me," Napoleon said, "Helping a lady in distress is what a man should always strive to do. That being said, I love this new fire in your eyes. Ooh lala, I could be enchanted. Have you ever thought about being an Empress?"

Rin gave him a deadpan stare. It took everything in her power not to blush like mad. Her frustration was winning out over anything else. It seemed her new Sensei, or Servant, was going to be a bit much for her. Truly these were trying times.

I should have uploaded this chapter earlier but my writing spirit wanes these days. Stress and all that. I'm just glad I got it out. I really hope it's as good as you all were hoping. Any and all feedback is welcome and encouraged. Until next time, take care.
