After a while izuku pulled away and katsuki put his hearing aids back on
"Come on kacchan, I'll prepare us both katsudon!" his small puffy tail wagged
"We can't survive off from that alone" the blond scoffed as he became increasingly near, basically touching the other smaller boy
Izuku blushed as he looked away "Uh–what about steak?"
Bakugos eyes widened
"You aren't vegan?"
"WHaat? I thought you knew we hybrids aren't held down by a strict diet–you didn't do your homework?" he teased and bakugou nudged izuku
"Pfft Shut up nerd"
"You didn't know~"
"Shut it!"
Then the topic of izukus costume and vest came up, one hybrid need so people know they are heroes' companion and to trust them in the need of an attack
"And I was thinking..maybe it should be like adding a cape" "The papers said no capes, plus, capes are stupid"
"WHAt" izuku cried out
"Then–then I'll wear a hero costume–"
"If you use a costume you still need a vest and it means you're wearing a vest with a cape"
"Bakugoo" izuku whined as he pushed the paper onto his face
"Gah! I dont make the fuckin' rules!" bakugo grinned as he let the smaller bunny push him into the sofa
"And don't you think those shorts you drew are small? Your freckled ass shows" "But it makes me run easier!"

The hybrid huffed as he went back to scribbling over the paper
It has been a few weeks since the news incident, izuku's things have slowly covered bakugos walls outside his nesting room
He read the clock on the wall and yawned
"Time to sleep, nerd"
"M not tired" izuku said as he cleaned up everything, something that bakugou appreciated, not many clean up after themselves, then again he knew about this since they met at the agency
"Your face looks much better since I forced you to sleep at 9"
"But I don't enjoy it–woah!" bakugo picks izuku up with one arm and walked him to his nest
"Stay here" izuku whispered and bakugos breathed hitched before huffing
"Fine, but just to make sure you actually go to sleep" "I do go to sleep"
"Like that one time, I saw you at 4 AM wide awake?"
Izuku gasps
"That was one time!"
"Because I've been making sure it stays one!"
He lightly throws izuku into the nest, and the hybrid lets out a giggle as he loves rustling around. Most prey hybrids dont like to be be moved a lot but by izuku's training for years he loved small actions like these
The blond lay next to the soft pile and seconds later he felt something soft on top of him Then there was silence, just as he was about to drift izuku spoke
"Ok but what about making it purple–"
"I swear if you talk about your hero costume I will go back to my room, you hear me?" bakugo glared but there was silence
He looked down at his chest to find izuku sleeping, slightly snoring
"And who wasn't tired huh?" he chuckled to himself before yawning again and sleeping
Four years have gone by and bakugou fell hard for izuku I mean–hybrids aren't pets, but they can be
He tries to shake those thoughts away, he knows hybrids can consent and marry and yara yara but izuku wants none of it right?
He always had dreams to being a hero and to helping, that's why he studied and tried so hard to convince bakugou he is needed on the front lines too
He has proven himself no doubt, redirecting civilians out of the danger zone and helping those who cannot run before leaving the rest to the heroes, if he sees it's a weak villain the heroes are too busy to fight he will engage in combat, and save any other civilians under the rubble thanks to his sense of smell and hearing
Many kids have taken a liking to him and the public has fallen in love with his wagging soft tail and dangerous thighs
"Can you fall in love with your hybrid?" bakugo asked and shinso choked on his drink
Izuku and Denki turned their heads at the sound, ready to stop eating their lunch but the purple hair
raised his hand signaling he was okay, the two went back to talking to each other by the omega pen
It was a place filled with soft clean nesting places where they could eat and nuzzle against each other, many watched them play and it was a cute sight to eat to
"Is that a no?" bakugo asked, although his eyebrows were furrowed his voice hinted at concern "Sorry–the cough was at the question itself. Yeah"
"Yeah?"
Shinso nods again
"Hybrids are as smart as us bakugou, they are seen as companions and they eat the same things as us. You've known each other for like..4 years now?"
"Five tomorrow" bakugo says as he glances as izuku giggled
"Eufh, more than us. Do you think he will say yes?"
Bakugo froze
"Ah–so you were more scared of his response because he thinks that you will think you both cant" "Something like that"
Shinso smirked "Dramaaa~" "SHUT UP"
Everyone looked at him with questioning eyes and the blond t'ched
"Just tell him your feelings, kats, as cringy as those words are. I can see he really loves you" The red eyes glanced at the purple before nodding
"I should've just asked Google, now you know my secret"
The other male scoffs
"Fine, if it makes you feel better, you know the break we're both taking?"
The blond hums
"Im telling him I like him there, you should too"
Shinso was right, maybe he couldn't do something grand like him it would overwhelm him as his prey status but..just a nice all-night movie and some action figures
"Ding ding ding?" shinso grinned
"Shut up" he grumbled, a small smile on his face
Izuku thinks bakugou hates him
He has been quieter and slept in his room more often
Even after 5 years maybe he was going to be put back and–and
His heart rate increased tenfold, if he does get put back he won't make it. His status would change to unable to adopt and he would forever live inside the gates at UA
And even if he gets put back on the adoption list, would he really try anymore? Years of studying and learning only to be put back and for them to find someone else
"Freckles" bakugou said softly and izuku's ears twitched, it was a nickname he started calling him not so long ago yet..it makes his heart skip a beat every time
"Are you okay? I know you said to watch a movie but when don't have to–" "No! No, I want to"
Bakugo stared at izuku's posture "You're shaking"

"What's on your mind?"
Izuku shook his head
"I'm supposed to help you kacchan n-not you" "Hmm too bad"
"No! It's my job"
Tears ran down his face and his eyes widened
"What happened? Are you in pain? Talk to me"
"Please don't put me back" he cried into bakugos arms, his small bunny ears flopped
"What?"
"Please don't put me back at UA, I'll try harder, three times as hard! Please please–" "Shh..you're not breathing, hey focus–/focus/ on me"
Izuku sobbed
"You thought I was returning you?"
Izuku hummed as he sniffled "You don't hang around with me that much anymore..ignore me after work and–and"
"Because I was afraid of telling you something–"
"WAHH" "NOT THAT"
Bakugo cupped izuku's cheek
"Not that" he repeated and izuku nodded slowly
"I like you" bakugou grumbled and izuku gasped, his glassy eyes reflected the light from his tears "Why didn't you tell me" he sniffled
"Because I was scared" the human said truthfully
"But you beat monsters of like 30 feet up!" izuku raised his arms
"Yes but...I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to my feelings, always have been"
"If you're scared of confessing it means that I was special to you enough to worry you" izuku said as he nuzzled the nook of bakugous neck
"I love you too, kacchan" the hybrid said
Pro Hero Bakugou felt a rush of joy and relief wash over him as he heard Izuku's words. He held his partner's hand tightly, feeling a deep sense of contentment and belonging.
"Let's stay together, forever," Pro Hero Bakugou said, his voice full of conviction.
Izuku nodded, his eyes shining with happiness. "Forever, you're my partner remember?" he said. "Better than that this time" bakugou stated with a wide grin
