Super Mario Movie Bits

Chapter 1: The New Job

Bursting from a green pipe came the two new heroes of two worlds. The Super Mario Bros.

"We're the Mario Bros." Mario shouted.

"And plumbing's our game." Luigi said sternly, folding his arms.

"We're not like the others who get all the fame." Mario said back, folding his arms just like his little brother.

"Well yeah, how many plumbers save the world?" One toad said, as the three stood near a pile of pipes. "Also, great song! I really need to see that commercial."

It's been some time ever since the Mario Brothers defeated King Bowser and saved the Mushroom Kingdom and Brooklyn. Gaining fame and the recognition they truly wanted. Even from their old man.

Though saving the world was no easy task, or even a clean one at that. Both the Mushroom Kingdom and Brooklyn became a completely cartoonish warzone. So much to repair, so much lost, and most of all, so soooo much explaining to the entire Earth what happened on that day.

While Brooklyn was a wreck, it was still nothing compared to the Mushroom World. The Penguins' castle was nothing but a puddle, Star Road became inaccessible. And the Koopa Army raided both Toad Town and the Castle.

But with the menace behind bars, it was finally time to rebuild and grow. Which is what the Marios did.

"Oh boy, Mario. We're almost done!" Luigi was filled with joy as he helped Mario lift up a few bricks. "When we get this bad-boy all hooked up, we'll get our official gateway to and from Brooklyn!"

Mario looked at the large brand new pipe where the old ruins once stood. The same spot where he first entered the Mushroom Kingdom.

"And this time, no-one's a-going to get separated.

While the pipe itself wasn't harmed, thankfully. Everything around it did. Both the Mushroom side and Earth.

There was a lot of political stuff going after the Koopa Katastrophe. The poor Princess didn't get a single break after the battle. Not after the press, and definitely not after meeting Mayor Pauline.

"Boy I bet Peach really wished she was still chatting with the Mayor."

The two leading girls had gotten along well, but there was no hiding what had happened to the rest of the world. Wasn't even a week before the U.N. wanted to speak with not just Peach, but nearly every ruler reachable.

Not even politics alone. So many people, so many scientists, so many needy tourists.

"We have it easy, Luigi." Mario said as they rest the blocks on a truck. When the Princess, hopefully, comes home tonight, she'll need a good meal and a nice bed with tea or music or whatever she likes!"

Back home, Mario and Luigi's schedule became packed with everyone wanting their plumbing fixed after the chaos. Many were disappointed when they had no choice but to hire other plumbers since the two bros. couldn't handle it all.

They may think Peach was having a rough time, but they still needed to help out cleaning the rest of the city. Heck, it's still not close to finishing.

"You think the penguins managed to drain all that lava?" Luigi asked his brother, after being reminded by seeing the exhausted Penguins helping out with the new pipe.

Mario looked at the poor birds and shook his head. "I swear they weren't even using that lava for fuel."

They worked till noon and sat together for a nice lunch.

"Come get it while it's hot!" Their chef today was Toad. Not just any Toad, but Toad. Toad Toad. …. You know which one.

Mario and Luigi's mouths were practically drooling. Toad had prepared them a plate of Spaghetti, drenched in home made tomato sauce, topped with grated cheese, and meatballs.

"Toad, I am so grateful you met our mother!" Mario said as the two chowed down.

"No no, thank you! Best Buddy!" Toad grinned as he dined with the two. "Pasta, Pizza, Doughnuts! Your world has so many recipes!" Toad looked up at the brand new pipe, a pipe made for groups of people to travel at once. Nice and safe. "And if Princess Peach gets on your world's kings' good side, we can get even more kinds of food!"

Toad was nearly ready to jump off his seat. "And I can do so much more TRAVELING!" and so he jumped off his seat.

"Good luck with that." Luigi jabbed as Mario chuckled.

"So anywho." Toad calmed himself down. "How's the new house?"

It's been a few months after that fateful day, and with so many jobs the Mario decided to start planning on getting their own place, until their new princess friend made a great suggestion.

"I'm surprised she hasn't invited you to live in the castle." Toad grinned, looking directly at Mario. "She wouldn't have to walk far to flirt with you."

"Oh knock it off." Mario grinned as Luigi playful punched his brother's shoulder. "Seriously, there's no such thing as 'love at first sight.'"

"True." Toad pondered. "But what about 'love at forty-eighth sight?'"

"That ….. That's not accurate, right?" Mario asked.

"Don't worry Mario." Luigi said after swallowing a meatball. "I'm not going to tease you. We're not teenagers anymore." Luigi wiped his face. "And Toad, don't you think she had enough "lovey" stuff for a while?"

"I think we all deserve to take it easy for a while." Mario said as he reflected on everything that had happened. "We traveled to a different world, got captured by monsters, fought a gorilla, drove on a rainbow, and fought a crazy turtle dragon thing. Who could have guessed that while writing our High school senior books?"

"And I actually became brave." Luigi said proudly. "I never felt so good and scared in my life after that!"

"That's my brother!" Mario threw his arm around his brother's shoulder. "We've finally shown 'em all we can do it!"

And so after lunch, the boys continued working as they carried equipment, set the foundation for buildings, talked with the architect about the plans, and made sure everyone didn't overdo it. All the way till the end of the day.

"Well Mario, my back is officially old." Luigi said as he rested some ice on his lower back. "You?"

Mario stretched his arms. "You should really try out that obstacle course and tell me how a backache feels."

Toad caught up with them as they walked through Toad Town. "I just got word that her Royal Highness is coming back tonight. I say we make her a special meal. Something that will make her taste buds shout 'Adventure!'" Toad then glanced at the Marios. "So do humans have taste buds?"

Three looked upon the Castle, home of the kind and brave ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach. "Well what are we waiting for?" Mario said, pointing at a pipe. "Let's give Peach a warm welcome back!" Mario and the others were about to jump into the pipe to Peach's Castle, until….

"After a shower!"

So we close this chapter on this. The boys going through their new lives in a brand new world, working hard to help rebuild. A nice and peaceful welcome is all they needed right now, a welcome back for their new friend.

End of Chapter

A/N: Well I had this idea in the back of my mind for a while. A story about the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Didn't know if I wanted to make a short story focusing on Peach, or something like 'Miles and Stella' where I don't have to stay committed to it all. The latter was a better choice, but I am going to use that Peach idea later on.

I know it's been a WHILE since I last wrote anything, but I really needed to keep my mind off things.

Also it's good to keep you guys updated. Still around. Doing good.

But enough of that, tell me what you think? Wanted to go with a basic introduction, but next chapter you'll see more.
