"If you don't hurry up, we're going to be late. Again!"
Just outside of Naranja Academy, in one of the best clothing and accessory shops in Mesagoza, were three friends waiting inside while the fourth friend in their group was in the changing room. At Naranja Academy it is strictly forbidden to wear anything other than the standard school uniform, although there are four different sets of uniforms for each season, the policy still stands. However, that does not mean that you are not allowed to use any other pieces of clothing, such as footwear, gloves, hats, etc.
Four students, the class president Nemona, skilled hacker Penny, and the upperclassman Arven, were in a shop dedicated to shopping for such items of clothing, but they weren't shopping for themselves. Instead, they are currently waiting for the fourth friend in their group, the rising star of the academy, Juliana, who is trying out new looks. This is standard for them since Juliana always tries out some new accessories to add to her uniform, and though Arven and Penny most likely wouldn't admit it, Nemona would agree that Juliana can make any standard uniform into the next fashion trend. That, however, has nothing to do with the fact that both Juliana and Nemona are currently dating, Nemona just really thinks that the fashion choices Juliana makes are just that good.
While both Nemona and Penny were waiting for Juliana patiently, Arven was getting frustrated at the wait and fearing that they were all going to be late for classes, mostly because this wasn't the first time, they were late. Arven, however, knew that being friends with these students was going to make things like this happen and honestly, he would not want to change a thing about this. After all, Juliana was the one who searched high and low for the Herba Mystica to help his best friend and partner, Mabosstiff. If it wasn't for her then Mabosstiff could have died.
That is beside the point though, since he still gets frustrated about being late for classes. "You already wear the same uniform, what could possibly make it any better." Just as Arven finished saying that, and before Nemona could slap Arven in the back of the head while Penny just watched in amusement, Juliana finally stepped out of the dressing room.
Though Juliana was still wearing her school uniform, as is school policy, Juliana was wearing many types of different clothing along with her uniform. She switched her usual hat for a beanie that was the same shade of blue as an Amaura, a pair of brown glasses, gloves that are colored black and yellow to match the same color scheme as a Pikachu, pale purple leggings that go well with her summer uniform, grey and red colored shoes, and a backpack that matches the color scheme of an Alolan Geodude. Stepping in front of her friends, Juliana struck a pose.
"What do you think?" Juliana asked them since she would want their honest opinion.
Before Penny and Arven could say anything though, Nemona stood up, held out her Rotom Phone, and started taking pictures of Juliana multiple times. "It's official, school uniforms are back in style."
Both Penny and Arven were embarrassed by Nemona's actions, while Juliana was embarrassed and flustered at the same time, she did know what she would get into when she decided to be Nemona's girlfriend. "Could you not take so many pictures, please?" Nemona didn't say anything but placed a hand right next to her ear signaling to Juliana that she didn't catch that. Juliana knew, however, that she did hear her, Nemona just wanted her to say it differently. Clearing her throat Juliana tried again. "¿No…podrías…tomar…tantas fotos, por favor?"
Nemona swooned when she heard Juliana speak in Spanish, though she is used to language, something about Juliana speaking that way made her flustered and love struck. "Eso fue perfecto. You have been practicing a lot." Nemona then put her Rotom Phone away. "Alright I'll stop." Juliana was about to thank her before she heard one last picture being taken. She saw Nemona put her phone away, so Juliana looked and saw that the one that had taken the picture was Penny.
"I thought I could take a picture too." Penny said, putting her phone away. "You know…for research purposes."
Nemona looked at Penny, seeing red. "You know that Juliana is my girlfriend, right?"
Penny, however, didn't look scared of Nemona at all and just stared back at her. "Yeah, I know. Can't a person just take a picture for anything other then fueling a lust filled mind?" Both Nemona and Penny started getting into a staring match making Juliana feel both uncomfortable and amused at the same time.
Arven on the other hand was starting to get more agitated and began thinking why he was still there with them. It's not like they were going their separate ways, they were all going to the same school as one another. But every time he thought of that he came to the same conclusion, he wanted to spend time with his friends and even though they make him mad at times like this, he still wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Looking over at Juliana, even Arven had to admit that the look she had really suits her, she should probably investigate a career as a fashion designer. Or at the very least a fashion model. But no more of that, they have somewhere they need to be right now. "So, is that it? Are we done here?"
Juliana looked at the stuff she was wearing and was about to give her answer when she thought of something else. While in that changing room, Juliana had thought to herself that her look was missing something, and now that she was out of the changing room, she still thought that she just needed one more thing. "I don't know. I feel like this look is missing something, but I don't know what." Arven rolled his eyes at that, of course Juliana would be struggling with a perfect look like this, but she always knew afterward what it was and that missing something that she found would complete the entire thing. Juliana stood there thinking about how to complete her look when an idea came to her. Reaching to her side she pulled out one of her Pokeballs and tossed it in the air.
Coming from right out of the Pokeball stood one of Juliana's best Pokemon, Tsareena. Juliana first captured her when she was just a Bounsweet, just on the hill outside of Mesagoza, and over time she had become one of Juliana's go to Pokemon, establishing her as one of the strongest. She had helped her trainer in many battles, be they gym battles, battling against Team Star members, or facing off against the Titan Pokemon. Soon the Bounsweet had evolved into a Steenee, and finally into a Tsarrena. Turning around to look at her trainer, Tsareena had bowed to her with elegance and grace as always.
Juliana bowed back. "Your majesty."
Penny chuckled a little at their display. "Don't you think you're going a little overboard with that just because Tsareena's ability is Queenly Majesty?"
Juliana playfully looked shocked and appalled at Penny's question. "How rude! Tsareena is a true queen and must be respected as such." Tsareena played along with Juliana and gave a gesture saying, 'Very rude indeed.' Juliana pointed at her three friends and said, "On your knee's peasants. Bow before your queen."
Both Nemona and Penny did as they were told and bowed before Tsareena, saying 'your majesty.' Arven didn't do that and just stared at the trainer and Pokemon. "I'm not doing that." Tsareena glared at Arven and then turned away in a huff. Arven did a double take on that. "Why do I feel like garbage now?"
Deciding to end to bit, Juliana got Tsareena's attention. "Hey Tsareena, do you think you can help me find something to complete this look?" Juliana sun around, showing Tsareena her outfit. "I feel like this needs one more thing to be completed. I'm sure you can figure it out, can you?" Tsareena looked Juliana up and down to determine what Juliana needed, after a few seconds of observation, Tsareena nodded her head in confirmation. "Thanks!" Juliana reached into her wallet and pulled out some money. "Why don't you get yourself something while you're at it?" Juliana handed Tsareena the money and Tsareena accepted before moving toward her intended target.
After a minute of searching, Tsareena finally found the section she needed. The thing that Tsareena figured that Juliana would need was a scarf, but it had to be a scarf that has the right color scheme to compliment her outfit. Searching through the sections Tsareena found the one that was just right, it was a scarf that had the color scheme of a Bulbasaur, it was perfect.
Just as she grabbed the scarf, Tsareena looked a little bit over to the right and saw something that made her eyes wide with awe. It was a white and pale blue scarf, looking at it closely, she figured that it might have the same color scheme as an Alolan Vulpix. She remembered that her trainer had shown her various brochures of the Alola Region as well as various pictures of all the Pokemon that live in the Alola Region, some of them are even different versions of Pokemon that she knew looked way different then the ones she was shown. Out of all the Alolan Pokemon that she saw in those pictures, it was the Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetales that caught her eye with their beauty and grace. Tsareena then remembered that Juliana gave her some money to spend on herself, having the need to thank her trainer repeatedly for this opportunity, Tsareena grabbed the scarf she was looking for and headed back to her trainer.
Heading back to the direction of her trainer, Tsareena saw Juliana's other friends and smiled at the amusement. Penny and Nemona were still arguing back in forth that it was okay for someone to take a picture of someone and not have it be about something perverted, while Arven was silently laughing as the two were making fools of themselves. She then saw her trainer laughing in full display at the hijinks. If these were anyone else then Tsareena would urge Juliana to look for different friends, but she knew that her trainer was a great judge of character. After all she could have chosen any other Bounsweet other than her since most of them were stronger than her, but Juliana chose her anyway, making her forever grateful.
Making her way past the other three, Tsareena presented Juliana with the scarf she thought would be best suited for her. Juliana grabbed and stared in awe over what Tsareena chose for her. "It's perfect. This is exactly what I needed." Juliana draped the scarf around her neck. "With this scarf my look is complete."
Tsareena nodded it appreciation for her decision, and both Penny and Nemona pulled out their Rotom Phones at the same time to take more pictures of Juliana, forgetting that they were arguing about picture taking just a moment ago. Arven stood up and said, "Finally! We can still make it if we leave right now." Tsareena glared at Arven for not appreciating Juliana's new look.
"Yeah Arven, we can go now." Juliana said. Before they left Juliana looked at the second scarf that Tsareena was holding and stared in awe at how pretty it was. "That's a very pretty scarf Tsareena. You going to get that for yourself?" Tsareena nodded her head in confirmation. "It really suits you. Let's go to the checkout." Juliana signaled all her friends to follow her, which they did.
On their way to the checkout, Tsareena heard crying, she looked and saw a Bounsweet crying to her trainer. "I'm sorry Bounsweet, but we can't afford this charm right now." The trainer was putting away a flower charm that the Bounsweet looked like she really wanted. "Come on, we have to go now." The Bounsweet was silent and nodded, but there were still tears falling. Tsareena looked at the flower charm and picked it up.
The charm was a simple pink and yellow color, but it did look nice, and the Bounsweet looked happy to see it. Tsareena could remember the times that she would always want something that made her happy and felt sad for the little Bounsweet, so she decided to get it for the little Pokemon. Heading over to the checkout she saw Juliana paying for the items that she was going to get, but then heard something. "I wish these items weren't so expensive." That made Tsareena look at the price of the charm, it was a decent amount of money, but if Tsareena bought the charm then she wouldn't have enough for the scarf that she wanted. Thinking it over she knew what she wanted to do.
After paying for the items she was currently wearing, she told the clerk she will wear them out, Juliana looked around and didn't see Tsareena anywhere. Turning around she found her Pokemon putting the scarf that she wanted back on the shelf and then walked back to the group. Juliana was confused by what Tsareena was doing, she was sure that she gave Tsareena enough money for the scarf, so why was she putting it back? She was about to ask the Pokemon when she saw Tsareena place a flower charm on the checkout and the money that Juliana gave her. "Did she change her mind?" Before she could ask Tsareena why she was purchasing a flower charm, Tsareena ran out the door.
Juliana ran out too, to see why Tsareena left in a hurry, and found her Pokemon catching up to another trainer and a Bounsweet. Juliana saw Tsareena give the Bounsweet the flower charm that she had purchased. The trainer was trying to tell her that they couldn't take something that they didn't buy, but Tsareena was not having that, she wanted to give the Bounsweet a nice gift and they were going to have that charm whether they wanted to or not. The Bounsweet was very happy and gave Tsareena a hug, which Tsareena returned. Seeing that made Juliana cry tears of happiness, seeing how selfless Tsareena was, she truly was a queen worthy of being praised.
"We just saw Tsareena run off." Juliana looked behind her to see her friends. The one speaking was Penny. "Where did she go?"
Juliana pointed at Tsareena. "She went over there. She gave her flower charm to that Bounsweet."
Seeing that made the trio happy. Arven even said under his breath, "Truly a worthy queen."
Penny and Nemona heard that. "What was that?" Penny asked, pretending to have not heard Arven.
"Nothing!" Arven lied, not wanting to admit that even he is starting to see Tsareena as a queen. "Looks like we can make it to school now."
"And we will." Nemona said, right before she said something else that she knew would make Arven irritated. "Right after we get some coffee." Nemona turned in the direction of the nearest café.
"Seriously!" Arven was indeed irritated, just like Nemona planned.
"I can go for a Boba Tea." Penny said, following Nemona to the café.
A few steps away, Arven sighed in defeat. "I could use some coffee as well." Juliana stayed where she was, and Arven noticed. "Are you coming Juliana?"
Juliana smiled and said, "I'll be right there. I just remembered that there was one last thing I needed to get." Juliana then raised her voice so the others could hear her. "Hey Nemona, can you get me a Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino?" Nemona didn't turn around but gave Juliana a thumbs up.
"What are you getting this time?" Arven asked.
"I remembered that there was a pretty scarf that I needed to buy as a gift for someone."
