"Okay so… What am I supposed to look for?" Carrie asked.

She sat criss-crossed from K'Kruhk, who displayed a row of Cups on a small red carpet, each one containing a small stone.

"One of these pebbles will be Black." The Whiphid explained as he produced a small black stone from his coat and placed it under one of the cups. "The rest will be white, Three cups now cover a Stone, Three White, One Black, It's up to you to keep track of the cup that covers the Black stone, Concentrate now Padawan."

With a wave of his hand, K'Kruhk directed the four cups over the carpet, Carrie's eyes darted to keep track of the stone, until K'Kruhk finally clapped his hands together.

"Now." He said at last. "Which one has the Black Stone?"

Carrie thought for a moment, and then made a guess.

"That one." She pointed to the third cup on the farthest side of the mat, K'Kruhk just smiled and lifted the cup.

"What?" Carrie was surprised. "The Stone underneath the cup was pure white instead of Black. "But… I don't understand… H-How did you?"

She stopped as K'Kruhk pulled out the Black Stone from his sleeve.

"You tricked me!" Carrie exclaimed.

"I did." Said K'Kruhk. "Otherwise the Force would reveal to you that the Cup was empty, and so it was, That I allowed your expectations to come to the wrong conclusion."

"And is there a point to that?" Carrie asked.

"To keep your other senses keen, Besides your growing power in the Force." Explained K'Kruhk. "It's something I learned from Master Giiett, rest his soul."

Just then, Master Yoda entered Carrie's chambers, prompting both Carrie and K'Kruhk to rise.

"Hmm, Padawan." He said. "An urgent matter, we must discuss."

"Yes Master." Carrie said, as she bowed, she bade goodbye to K'Kruhk, and followed Master Yoda to the hallway outside her chambers.

Once there, Yoda led Carrie to a Balcony, facing the rest of the City of Coruscant.

"What shall we learn today Master?" Carrie asked.

"Much bigger than a lesson, We have in mind for you today Padawan." Master Yoda said, as he turned to face his Pupil. "Time for your first Mission, It is."

Carrie was surprised. "My… My First Mission?"

"Yes, Prepared you are." Yoda said. "For the wider galaxy, If up for it, you feel."

Carrie's words were caught in her throat. "I… I am honored Master, Truely."

Yoda smiled. "Hmm, Now to the matter at hand, Yes?" As he walked back into the Temple, Carrie followed close behind.

Later they entered the briefing room, Where Master Windu, Kenobi, Skywalker and Plo Koon were waiting. A holomap had been activated, showing a Starman of the galaxy.

"Padawan White." Master Windu greeted. "Good of you to come, I take it Master Yoda has informed you of your first journey?"

"Yes, Master Windu." Carrie said, nodding. "I am prepared."

"Let's hope so." Mace nodded, before punching in some coordinates and zooming in on a specific world.

"This is the Planet, Manaan." Explained Master Windu. "A great water world home to the Selkath race, As you probably already know."

Carrie nodded, having learned about it in one of her many astrology lessons.

"Manann is the Main supplier of Kolto." Windu went on. "A healing substance considered less useful than Bacta, Eventually losing its economic significance to the Galactic Economy over time, This has caused the Manann's own economy to stagnate over the decades, and now, there are reports of unrest on the planet, We are sending Master Plo Koon to investigate and resolve the issue if he can, You are to accompany him."

Carrie was delighted, but kept her excitement suppressed. There is no emotion, there is peace.

"A full delegation, We will send." Yoda explained further. "To that end, Accompany the both of you, Will Master Kenobi and his Padawan."

Carrie didn't show this either, But she didn't like the sound of that. She didn't like Anakin much, He was Moody, Arrogant and Brash, The supposed "Chosen One" as everyone called him, when really he was just a whiney jackass.

For his part, Anakin felt a particular jealousy for Carrie, the Council's apparent favorite, which he learned after their encounter in the hallway, a few years earlier, While Master Obi Wan was more civil and polite, He couldn't help feel that the Council was being a bit too hypocritical about Carrie, considering their internal refusal to have Anakin trained all those years ago.

"We will leave at once master." He said, politely bowing.

"A most grave matter, this is." Master Yoda said. "Already eager to see this over with, the senate are, May the force be with you."

The Four Jedi bowed and left the room together.

Later,

The designated Republic cruiser left the surface of Coruscant, and zoomed up into space, On board, Carrie stood in the main deck with Master Obi Wan and Plo Koon, While Anakin stayed idly in the entrance.

"All coordinates are set." The Captain said. "Making the jump to lightspeed soon."

"Very good Captain." Master Plo Koon nodded. "I expect us to arrive at the Pyrshak system soon."

"And hopefully by that time, the Selkath don't blow themselves up by then." Obi Wan said sarcastically.

"I've never seen a water world for myself before, Master" Carrie said, as she eagerly looked out to space, "Are they all the same?"

"Well, that would greatly depend, Padawan." Master Plo Koon said, placing a hand on Carrie's shoulder. "Each planet has its own inhabitants, people and customs, Each unique to their own envirnment, In fact, I doubt you would see much selkath on Mon Cala, Not sure where I made that reference, or where I was going with it, But… you know what I mean."

"Honestly I barely do." Carrie shrugged.

Anakin scoffed. "Not much to do anyway, we're just going to export an outdated medical remady from a literal backwater planet."

"Anakin, this is much bigger than that." Obi Wan said. "You heard the briefing right?!"

"Yeah, And it's probably nothing too big going on." Anakin shrugged. "It's probably just some random scuffle over… something, That's all it ever is."

"If you don't know for certain, then perhaps you shouldn't even presume." Carrie said, casting Anakin a scathing look.

"Hey excuse me for having an opinion, White." Anakin said defensively. "I guess we all can't be as "Wondrously gifted" as yourself.

Carrie just scoffed and looked away, Obi Wan and Plo shared a concerned look. "This is going to be fun." Kenobi said.

And as the crew on deck made the final preparations, they made the jump to lightspeed.

Also, I hope the new Rivalry between Anakin and Carrie doesn't come out of the Blue, But it does make sense if you think about, But don't worry, They'll grow on each other as the Manaan Arc goes on.
