When William came back for the second night, he knew what to expect and was prepared for it. He had his confirmation and knew the animatronics within the pizzeria were still under the souls' control. Alison could not grant them peace, and now William became the monster that they wanted to slay. Of course, they wouldn't stop after one night.
William didn't bother to listen to the message left to him by the guy on the phone. It was nothing more than their pointless rambling in an attempt to pretend that this place was in any way normal. That and keep Fazbear Inc. away from the trouble of hiring another guard after the animatronics slaughter the previous one. He had more important matters to attend to. After all, the animatronics wouldn't wait to attack.
Just like the first time, Bonnie was the first one to leave the stage and made his way straight to the kitchen. Will was lucky to spot him on a camera before the bunny managed to get too far. He acted differently than last night. More strangely, that was the only way William could describe it. Instead of moving further into the hall, Bonnie froze in the kitchen as he stared into the nearest wall without moving an inch. What was the point of this? Will had a feeling that the moment he looked away, the animatronic creature would immediately make his move.
However, he didn't stare at the camera for long as the swift sound of chaotic steps pulled William away from his trance. Once again, they came from the left corridor.
Foxy decided to strike again.
Once again, he proved himself to be the most vicious of the animatronics in this place. The soul inside him was the most vengeful one, the one that desired freedom the most, and he would stop nothing to claim it.
When William slammed the red button on his left, he could already see Foxy's silhouette emerging in the shadows with his glowing eyes piquing through the gateway he tried to track. Unfortunately for the animatronic, he failed once again as the door closed right in front of him.
"Jesus…" William took a deep breath. His luck stayed with him for now, and he prayed it would remain so over the coming nights. He also realized that luck was not enough; his skills would play a role just as important when it came to survival. It was time to look at the cameras again.
When he looked at the stage, William discovered that both Freddy and Chica were gone, leaving the stage empty. The night guard felt an overwhelming desire to swear, but he managed to restrain himself and keep quiet at the very last second. He expected Chica to go, but Freddy didn't move during the last night…Where would he go, left or right? William had to think very fast.
He found Chica very quickly. She was in the kitchen, slowly making her way towards the hall on the right, as she did last night, but Freddy wasn't there. Maybe he was in the kitchen? No, he couldn't walk here without making a single noise; William would've heard it otherwise like he did with Chica. He tried to look across different halls, but at first, all of them seemed empty; Foxy remained behind his curtain, waiting for another opportunity to strike, while Bonnie moved closer to the stage yet again. Eventually, however, Will noticed something in the right corridor. Two small white dots shimmered in the darkness, slowly sliding across further into the hall. William could barely see the silhouette, but the bear was there, hiding and making his way while always watching the cameras. Will could feel sweat falling down his skin as he began to breathe heavily. Keep calm, keep calm…
Suddenly, he heard a laughter. A heavy, piercing, mechanical laughter of a raging machine, flying right through the corridor and striking William's ears as if foreboding the coming of an unstoppable brute force that the animatronics were. Will could hear the steps echoing in the shadows for just a few moments, and he would be at the door. No, no, he couldn't allow this to happen. Power be dammed! With both Freddy and Chica approaching from the right, William closed the door and looked away, hoping that the animatronics wouldn't linger for long. What if they would discover that his power was limited? If they simply stay at the door and wait, it will run out before the end of William's shift, and then he will be defenseless…
He heard more steps. This time, it was Bonnie coming from the right and forcing him to close another door. For a moment, William started to regret signing up for this job. He was trying to remain calm and collected, but what if he made a mistake? What if the power runs out? He could try to run into the dark halls outside, but one of the animatronics would get him before even reaching the windows or the door. He should come more prepared next time; he needed to be able to fight back in the most unfortunate situation…To die here would mean to leave Elizabeth alone in this world and break the most important promise he had given her. The one he gave to Clara when he swore on her grave…
It was an uphill battle William was willing to take. To maneuver between their constant onslaught, to open the doors and risk being slaughtered to conserve power, to never look away from the cameras, to desperately try and outsmart the merciless hunters. To monitor Bonnie and Chica while listening out for Foxy's chaotic rush and occasionally seeing Freddy's eyes shimmer in the darkness as the deadliest of them toyed with William, preparing to make him his prey. And endless cycle across six hours, pain, sweat, exhaustion, William felt drowsy and had to resist the desire to pass out. And only at the very end…
The beautiful sound of bells chiming.
